Geek On The Go - On Site Computer Tech Support

Called and talked with James to see if he could help me. We set an appointment for the next day. James is a very methodical troubleshooter. Within an hour after arriving at our house, he found that for some reason Win10 had not completed several significant updates. There had not been any errors or displays that there was a problem. Once he was able to these installed, my PC was working as previously. It's been over a week and it is still working good. Definitely would use James again and have recommended him to others.

James arrived on time. Went right to work after I explained the objectives. I got out of his way and let him do his thing. He called when he needed me. The work went smoothly. As always, there are quirks in work like this. He resolved them and my computer was working perfectly when he left. He even resolved some issues I had with my old computer that were making certain programs more difficult to use. The job was tedious and time consuming, probably more so than some others. This was the second time I used Jim. The first was a simpler job but I knew he was the person I wanted for all of my work. In fact, he will be back next week to do some additional work for me.

He is really proactive and really good. He gave me an estimate over the phone. He was very thorough, he put me on his email list to send me informative and helpful emails.

These people were great!!! James came and tried to save me money and find what was wrong, hoping to just replace a part. Once he found that it was the motherboard, it would be cheaper to buy a new one. He even went with me to Fry's to pick another one that would best fit my business circumstances. He set the new one all up and transferred all my data over. Back working normally when he left. I could never have done that. He was nice, explained everything as he was doing it and didn't waste time. Very user friendly. You won't be disappointed.

Responded quickly and came out the same day. Repaired network, verified system integrity and completed in less than an hour. Would definitely hire again.

Jim arrived at the house with the Wi-Fi extender, tested a couple of locations until he found the optimal one. Tested the signal at the irrigation controller and that job was done. He then tackled the laptop and solved the specific problem we had been experiencing (intermittent on/off of sound). He identified the problem (an out of date driver), installed the new driver and updated 13 other drivers that needed to be updated. All is well now.

Everything went great. Doubled my RAM and tuned up my laptop. Now it's quick again.

He was great. It took about three hours. It's really a one man shop. He was very professional, friendly, and I had no hesitations about having him here in my home. I feel like I can call him with any follow up questions I may have. I'm glad I found him, because now I feel like I have somebody I can call if I have any problems.

He wasn't able to fix but I still give him an "A" for his effort because I felt he did his best. Guess I'm going to have to buy a new printer/scanner. He was professional and courteous.

They do emphasize "on the go", so evidently their specialty is onsite repair. However on their website, they give an address 1209 Northwest Hwy. STE 318. I wanted to bring my laptop in and drop it off for repair. I even called this morning to be certain that I knew how to get to their location, and was told that I had the correct address. When I got there this afternoon, I found that their address was a for rent mailbox/key repair location. I called the number again. The lady verified their address again. When I asked to speak to a manager, she revealed that she was just an answering service. She took my number and said she would get them to call me back. In the meantime, I went into the PO box place. It turns out that the "STE 318 is really P.O. Box 318. They have no actual physical location!!! In addition, no call back!!! Evidently, it's business run out of the back of the guy's car/truck!!! Now, I do note that he gets good reviews, but I have to wonder why he misrepresents having a real location. I guarantee, I have no intension of using this shyster!!!

James Duncan was the Geek who came to my house. He was obviously knowledgable about MACs. He solved my problem in about 20 minutes!!! I was thrilled. He charged $100 an hour. I will definitely use again.

James was very helpful, extremely efficient and very knowledgeable about scrubbing our computer for removal of a virus after we were hacked, recommended and installed security software, and also created a back up system.

My computer was extremely slow to boot/load files. Not all applcations worked properly. Mr. Duncan made every effort to restore the existing system but finally decided that it would need to be reinstalled. Because the computer was running so poorly this all took much longer than either he or I would have hoped. He was here a little over four hours. I watched the process and he did everything possible to make it efficient. What I particularly liked was that he ensured that all my files were saved and he also saved as many setting as possible to be used when application software also had to be reinstalled. The computer now is acceptably fast and a number of the applications work better.

He was scheduled to arrive the next day between 12 and 2. He called and said he'd be here between 12:30 and 12:45 and was right on time. He spent quite some time cleaning things up on the computer and running diagnostic tests. He was able to make the machine function again but there were hardware issues that he found. There was a problem with the CD and we would need a new one. There also were problems with part of the hard drive. We felt it was only a matter of time before we would need a new computer. That's not what we were hoping for, but that's what it turned out to be. I'd rather know before it totally broke down so that we can copy stuff from the old to a new box and get the settings set up like we were used to. So our next project is to buy a new computer and get Turbo Tax loaded so that the real fun can begin! James was a total professional and gave us his opinion on computer brands and security software.

James was on time and reasonably priced. He quickly found the problem with our computer software and fixed it.

Mr. Duncan was exactly on time and ready to go to work He had the proper devices and knowledge and went right to work. He was very professional and did not waste any time. I would definitely use his services again.

James was on time. He came prepared. He is polite, competent and uses your time wisely. There were things he taught me to do myself both for the future and because he didn't want me to pay for his time to transfer files for an hour or two when I could do it myself after he left. However, if I had needed him to do it all he would have. I really appreciated his sensitivity to this. He is a true professional. Even my geeky husband, appreciated his knowledge of network drives and their vulnerabilities. He is completely at home with Windows systems, a bit less so with Apple - I have both. Advised me on a number of programs that would be helpful to me in handling pictures. I have peace of mind again over my pictures.

James was punctual, thorough and did a great job.

Friendly and professional. Felt time was spent well, and worth the money. I find it's always helpful when I have problems to get assistance when you spend more than 1 hour of your time trying to solve problems. James was able to give me the advice I needed.

He was there about an hour and a half. It simply took that long to try to determine the issues with my desktop. All in all, he got it back into working order, but he had to give the bad news (which was completed expected by the way--no surprises) that my hard drive would eventually become unworkable. That's sad, as much as I spent on that computer at the time (I hope not to spend that much again, because they get outdated and parts become irreplaceable). But, as I said, the news wasn't unexpected. But, any machine that I do get, I'll feel very comfortable calling this gentleman to work on it, because he's proven his competence and his knowledge.
