I had an awful rattle and noise coming from my dryer. I thought I had thrown a belt, but the service technician identified that a pencil was left in the the dryer (probably in a pants pocket) and worked it's way into the tumbler mechanism of the dryer. He completely took apart the dryer, cleaned all the parts of lint and debris that had accumulated over the years and removed the pieces of the broken pencil. Very professional. In his inspection, he identified that the dryer vent tube that connects to the outside vent had a crack in it and replaced it, also. Very satisfied with the service and would definitely use again.

They had to order a spring replacement for me. They recommended putting down a plastic mat since I have wood floors. They ordered that as well and put that under the washing machine so that water would not get on the wood floor. It went just great. The go beyond the obvious to make sure that things are working properly. They are prompt. I used them last year as well. I'd give them a top rating.

When I telephoned, Lisa answered the call. I explained the symptoms and she knew exactly what was wrong. She explained my options and gave me a range of prices to repair. I scheduled the repair call for this afternoon. Lisa arrived as promised, repaired the problem, and gave us a 1-year warranty on the repair. I am extremely pleased and will call E & M in the future for ALL appliance repairs.

Lisa came with parts and diagnosed the problem. She restored the dryer 100%. She also looked at the washer which was not scheduled. She repaired it for an additional 100.00. A couple of weeks later the washer stopped working mid-wash. Lisa came back and determined that the motor was dead. She promptly refunded the fee. Now we have a new washer and will ALWAYS call E&M Home Service for all my repairs.

The man who came out my 4 year old called him the oven doctor. He investigated the problem while also giving her the challenge of jumping over his knee board. Clearly he has children and I found out later I was right. When he showed me where the board was located, I could see that it might be difficult to get at and he warned me that things might break when they open things that have never been unscrewed for 10 years. He sent his wife Lisa because he thought her small hands might make it easier for her. She arrived on time and went to work then needed extra muscle to get the oven out of its hole and later they both came back and fixed it in less than an hour. I was surprised. They were a great couple and my family enjoyed having them in the house.

Love working with Lisa- so knowledgeable & enthusiastic about her profession. Highest of integrity- & always goes above & beyond with her repair and/or installation. Have had the pleasure of their service in the past & we will ALWAYS use them & highly recommend them. It really is like having a member off your family completing the task for you.

I called in the morning needing service, and they were able to come out same day within the given window. The technician was friendly and professional. After checking the dishwasher and the garbage disposal it connected to, he determined there was a clog in the garbage disposal. The visit was fast, convenient, and inexpensive.

The provider was very nice and responded to me shortly after purchasing the deal. They informed me that the add was not correct, and it did not include parts and labor. They did ask if I was still interested in this deal without the parts and labor, I declined.

E&M Home Service was called to fix our ice maker. Personnel came when promised, worked quickly to make repairs, but encountered unexpected problems with new ice maker not totally compatible with old refrigerator. But they analyzed the problem, obtained additional material, and replaced the ice maker without additional charge. We appreciate the knowledge, professionalism, promptness, and courteousness of the service personnel. We?ll call them again if and when needed. Rating: 5 star.

Lisa called ahead and arrived right on time. She is very professional, very friendly and very resourceful with alot of knowledge including the specific known issues and flaws of each refrigerator/freezer brand. We learned so much from her about what to look out for next time we are looking for refrigerator or freezer. Lisa came with an apprentice (her daughter) who was also very informative and with an eye for detail just like her trainer. They had to leave and come back the next day with a replacement part (the digital component). Again they called ahead and arrived as planned. They did the work skillfully and successfully and we are very happy with what they did. My wife and I enjoyed having them at our house. We quickly became friends, exchanged recipes and all kinds of goodies for foodies. They are very skilled and gifted in many things from sewing, baking to appliance repair. I cannot say enough about these two ladies. No wonder they are highly rated. Call them up and see for yourself what amazing service you get. They even give a full 6 month warranty on all parts AND LABOR (very few even offer parts warranty). We have found the people to call for all of our appliance needs. I highly recommend them.

We discovered the problem Thursday evening and tried calling several vendors the next morning who said it would be Monday at the earliest. We then check Angie's List and saw E&M Home Service so I gave them a call Friday morning. While Friday was already booked they were able to make an appointment for Saturday. The technician, Eric, was available sooner than our originally scheduled appointment and called to see if that was ok - which it was. We needed a new pump and he completed the repair quickly and professionally. We got a discount for being members of Angie's List. We would definitely use this vendor again and am glad we're Angie's List members.

Very good. Very knowledgeable/informative. The services met my expectations, and I can see why E&M gets the great ratings.

The repair technicians were prompt and nice. Unfortunately the rest was very poor. Our refrigerator still leaks, and a couple of weeks later after several calls for a follow up visit on the continued leaking that was supposed to have been repaired, and the estimate to replace parts on the dishwasher, nothing. I continue to be told I'll be called back shortly to "get on the schedule" and the estimate to repair my dishwasher, and no call back or scheduling occurs. This is a pretty simple scenario and neither the repair was done correctly, nor the quality of service acceptable. I only was trying to allow them to rectify the situation as I paid for a repair that did not work and have been without a functioning dishwasher waiting for the estimate. I am very surprised by the positive reviews on Angie's list and question the authenticity of them based on my experience.

Starting with "Lisa" answering the phone....she knew the problem, gave the cost over the phone, showed up with the part and all went perfectly. Never had someone so knowledgeable and efficient. Most helpful service person I've ever encountered. Will definitely use again for any future appliance needs....

Lisa showed up and I explained what the problem was. She helped me find the correct breaker (not marked) to turn oven off. Took oven apart, replaced igniter, checked for proper operation, put everything back together. Had all parts needed and did not try to impress me. Just did her job very professionally, took my check, explained warranty, asked if I had any questions, wished me a good day and left. While here was friendly and polite.

This is by far one of the most professional and courteous repair companies I have ever used. I will absolutely use them for all of my repair needs going forward. I am so thankful to have found them.

They were courteous, responded quickly to my purchase, but in the end I did not need the service so I did not end up using them.

This is probably the best experience I have had with appliance repair personnel. E & M (Lisa) initially mixed up the dates and promised to come the next day which she promptly showed up at the agreed upon time. I originally called E & M company because of a refrigerator that was shutting off and tripping the breaker, but I also mentioned my upright freezer that I had abandoned for the past 2 years because it stopped working and a repairman from a reputable company (Sears) told me it's not worth repairing and that any repair would cost more than the freezer so I should throw it away. I decided to sought a second opinion from an experienced (over 70 yr old appliance repairman) who also told me it's not repairable and I should throw it away. I have been unable to carry the upright freezer to a dumpster so it's been lying in my garage for the past 2 years until Lisa showed up. She looked at the upright freezer first and within less than 10 minutes, she told me it was working. I told Lisa the story about the two previous repairmen, and she just smiled - she definitely knows the job. The original refrigerator I called her company about was also a breeze, also repaired and working within another 10 minutes. All said, she spent 30 minutes or less at my house with both appliances working well for less than the price of a new one. I will definitely use this company again. I have their number on speed dial. I hope all their technicians know the job as well as Lisa does.

I thought the oven was going out due to its age of 26 yrs. With Thanksgiving next week, decided better get oven checked out. I called and spoke with Lisa at E & M. She said they were totally booked up but suggested I purchase an inexpensive oven thermometer ...did at Walmart for $7 .... then test oven. I followed her instructions and called her back. Lisa said that as ovens age, the temperatures need to be re-calibrated but easy fix that I could try myself. She told me exactly what to do and it worked! That saved us a $60 service call and her time so I am a happy camper.

Eric explained that a power surge can mess up the sensor for the temperature in the fridge. He unplugged it and plugged it back in. He also pulled it out and cleaned the dirty intake vent and even swept the dirt out from behind it! He didn't charge any labor for these things, so we just paid the service fee. He was honest and nice and we will use this company again and refer others to them!

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They have been very, very friendly and very good to come out a couple of times. I think we just have a complicated refrigerator. They have fixed a few things but then something else goes wrong. They fix one thing and then something else goes wrong but I don't think it is their fault. We did pay additional. The cost was pretty reasonable for what they did. They were very professional, very friendly and very timely. They still have more parts to fix.

They haven't charged for the additional visits. She said she wasn't charging until we got to the end. They fixed some pieces and then some pieces didn't work so they had to order other pieces. They have been really good. She is very good to come at convenient hours.
