6/3/11 I had another plumbing problem and called the office early on Friday 6-3-11. The owner, sent someone out to fix my problem that same day. The shower was backing up and it was also gurgling. The plumber had to get on the roof and clean out the drain that way. To have same day service and with a great company that warrantees their work was terrific. I would never hesitate to use Legacy Plumbing. The cost of the job was a set price. Great Company, Owner and Plumbers! Thanks you guys.
Description of Work: Several plumbing jobs at once needed estimates and task performed. For the estimate, I spoke with Theron Young, the owner, over the phone. He gave me estimates that were in a range from highest to lowest and what might arise for the estimate to be towards the higher amount. I appreciated that so much. When the Plumber Wayne arrived, we talked about the different jobs that needed repairing and at that time after looking at the tasks he wrote down the cost which was actually ended up being much lower than the original price. Plus being an Angie's list member Mr. Young deducted $50 off which was the service charge call. The main work was to stop 2 outside faucets from constantly dripping. I am certain that the faucets are the original ones and they were put in too close to the house. He removed and replaced the mortar, added a new welded connection. The hole around the stem was filled with cement and the job completed in 45 minutes or so. Of course the dripping has now stopped which used to worry me knowing that the leak was constant. The quote was from $162.00 to $286.00 per faucet. Both faucets were fixed for a total of $272.00. When the jobs were completed Wayne and I walked around to each job and looked over what was done. I had asked if he would adjust my shower faucet. Because it was not the faucet but that the hot water heater was not set hot enough he didn't charge me. Then I had a commode which is always clogging up. We had to get communicate really fast as to the problem. After he looked it over it would cost more to repair it than to replace it in the long run so I decided that since it was always clogging up and it was uncomfortable to boot we would replace it at another time. Needless to say, I will use Legacy Plumbing once again when that time comes and it will and soon. This company is honest and the people I delt with were first class. The fellow took several minutes explaining to me what each job entailed and the price range. I have never had an experience like this before with a plumbing business. I am grateful for them being so knowledgeable.

Matt did an excellent job in replacing and installing the new water heater (with all new connections and valves) and performed updates to meet the city code requirements. Also created another drain line to exit through the wall leading outside as opposed to inside the garage. Matt also likes his work to be very nice and neat so it can look presentable and professional. He gave very helpful and useful maintenance tips. Theron also came around with the inspection certificate and hauled away the old water heater. Fantastic job!!! I would certainly use Legacy Plumbing again.

I HIGHLY recommend Legacy Plumbing.
Description of Work: I discovered mold on a wall and because both the wall and carpet tack were damp, I was concerned that there was a leak in the foundation. Being a member of Angies List, I researched plumbers around Plano. I chose Legacy Plumbing due to the positive feedback from customers. The gentleman who answered the phone @ Legacy and listened to my plight was very patient and concerned. The plumber who came over (Wayne) was extremely pleasant and located the problem right away. Fortunately, the leak was very small and in a pipe in the wall. Wayne also cleaned up the moldy insulation and sheetrock. He is trustworthy and the kind of person you wouldn't mind leaving alone in your house.

After extensive searching and review reading on Angie's List, I chose Legacy. I called and left a message. The owner called me back in a few minutes. I explained my issues and he said someone could be over in the next few hours. The tech Brian showed up at my door on the early side of that promise. He was friendly and professional. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he was dressed nicely. Not sure what I expected, but I wasnt' expecting nice khaki pants and white polo. I showed him the drain and he tested it out. Of course it wasn't as slow for him as it was for me. He said it was minor and didn't necessarily need to be snaked, but I chose to do it anyway. He performed the work quickly and now it drains completely normal. I also had him look at my kitchen sink piping. The previous owner had work done and it was shotty. It was held together by duck tape. Brian laughed a bit, but assured me he could replace the pipes with no issue. He inspected my disposal as well and showed me where it had leaked at some point and also had other issues that could cause the need for replacement in the near future. He priced the full job for me and I chose to go with replacing the duct taped pipes only for now. Gotta watch that budget! I also asked him to show me how to determine and/or change the temp on my water heater. (I'm a little ignorant on this stuff.) He showed me and of course it was super easy. Brian was very nice and I felt comfortable having him in my home while I was there alone. I will definitely use Legacy again in the future!
Description of Work: I had a slow draining bath tub and kitchen piping that was not done correctly by a previous owner/plumber. The tech showed up exactly when promised. (Same day I called!) He told me the drain wasn't terribly slow and considered it minor. He said it didn't necessarily need to be snaked, but I wanted it done anyway. He inspected by plumbing under the kitchen sink and could clearly see the previous job was a joke. It was held together by duct tape! The tech Brian quickly replaced the pipes with the correct size and fittings.

We had some problems with the new tankless water heater they installed but it wasn't their fault. They worked hard to quickly resolve all issues and make us happy. Usually, when there are problems, contractors give you "the attitude" but not with Legacy. These guys really care about "getting it right" and understand customer service. I can't ask for anything better than that.

Week before, called several highly rated plumbing companies from Angie's List for bids. For both PEX and copper bids, prices ranged from ~$2200-$3400. Although Legacy Plumbing proposed a PEX material and boring technique that were new to us, after some research, we decided to try it and hope it lasts. We decided to hire Legacy because: 1. The same guys that provided the bid do all of the work -> eliminates likelihood of illegal alien labor (not saying other companies do this) 2. The boring technique to run PEX underground reduces not only labor and time, but also damage to landscaping 3. They included sewer and water line test to confirm no leaks in house With one exception, every time I called, Theron the owner answered the phone. He was accessible, therefore minimal phone tag. From bid to work start and work completion appointments, when he provided a time, they showed up on time. For the initial bid, Wayne and Austin arrived seemingly after 12 cups of coffee. They were extremely energetic with a can do attitude. My initial thoughts were that either Wayne was a great sales guy or he really knew what he was doing. Wayne and Theron performed the work the next week and did so efficiently and professionally. Wayne's high energy is balanced by Theron's relaxed approach. Theron seems like a genuinely nice family man who attempts to run an honest business. They were a joy to work with and joked w/my husband that I'd like to adopt them as my younger brothers.
Description of Work: Replace 1" front yard water service line between meter to house shut off valve. Includes sprinkler double check tie on and new water box and ball valve. While on site, they included a water static and sewer test. For an add'l $200, they replaced and repaired two outdoor spigot faucets.

Wayne came an hour early and called saying that he would be in. When he arrived he gave a firm handshake and saw what the problem of the Mohn kitchen faucet pipe that was leaking under the cabinets. After quckily making repairs he noticed that the Mohn faucet that was installed a year earlier was shoddily installed and recommended Koheler and Delta faucets. I had a $50 coupon for the first visit. Wayne told me that if we got a faucet and made arrangements by Friday that he could come Monday and still give us the same discount. He did not charge us for the first visit. Before he left, he told us that Koheler and Delta were better selections since they do not have many moving parts and are easier to maintain than our previous faucet Mohn. After getting the Delta faucet and making the appointment, Wayne came in Monday afternoon to install the faucet. He came early and quickly within 10 minutes installed the faucet. He made sure to check and test the faucet to see if it was working and also to make sure that there were no leaks. He also noticed that the pipes were installed too close together to have the handle reach out of the faucet. To correct it he took a piece of cardboard from the Delta box and made a cardboard weight so that the handle could reach out correctly. All in all, I am was very satisfied with the service. Wayne was very professional and still accepted the coupon which took $50 off the bill. I would recommend Wayne and Legacy Plumbing to anyone of our friends that have a plumbing problem.
Description of Work: Repaired leak in kitchen faucet pipe. After overlooking kitchen faucet made recommendations to get another faucet since the person who installed it earlier did a horrible job. Once we got the faucet, it was installed very quickly and the service was exceptional. Read below for more detail of account.

I consider myself a pretty competent home grown "Mr. Fix-It". Unfortunately, I had 2 toilets that had been giving me fits...I could not get them to stop leaking no matter what I tried or what I replaced. Out of frustration, I called Legacy Plumbing. I called Legacy at 4:50PM on Monday and scheduled the appointment for the next day (morning). Plumber called me at 8:15AM and said he was 45 min out. He was onsite at my house Tuesday morning by 9:00AM. The Plumber, Matt, arrived clean cut, professional dress, and had a top notch customer service attitude. I directed him to Toilet #1. He adjusted one of the syphon tubes (moved the height), and the toilet stopped running. He explained to me how to keep an eye on this in the future. 30 seconds and he was done. Toilet #2 was a different animal as it was a Mansfield lever. I was pretty sure it required a new seal, and Matt confirmed it. He had the part in his truck. He took the time to explain how I could replace it in the future (considering the Mansfield was a little foreign to me). He was done in 10 minutes. Price was reasonable, no complaints. As for customer service: I'm in the service industry myself and Matt performed exactly the way I would want my techs to perform. Considering it took him less that 15 minutes and 1 part to fix the 2 toilets I have been struggling with for 2 months, Matt never made me feel stupid about such a simple fix. He smiled the entire time, worked efficiently, and spoke professionally. Will call again when I can't fix it! Well done, Legacy.
Description of Work: Toilet #1 - manually corrected level of tube in well. No parts required. 30 second fix. Toilet #2 - Replaced lower seal on Mansfield lever. 1 seal required. 10 minute fix.

Matt arrived on time after calling 30 minutes before. Working on the clogged toilet, used the cleaning machine from an outside cleanout. After several trials up different legs of the sewer line, decided the clog was in the leg the machine could not reach. So, removed toilet and ran machine down drain from inside. Removed a wad of roots as big as my arm! Matt then reseated the toilet and cleaned up. Looks better than when he started and works great. The Tub drain took some snaking from inside the house, and now it drains great too. All in all about 2.5 hours. We plan to have them out again to work on some other problems soon as we had pretty much exceed our appointment time slot. Great job.
Description of Work: Had a clogged drain in the toilet in one bathroom and a clogged tub drain in the other bathroom. Called in the afternoon on Monday, and they were able to come Tuesday morning. Legacy uses a rate sheet for their services, and asks before any procedure is begun.

These folks are awesome! Theron, Wayne and Matt were all exemplary! They were always professional, courteous, prompt, clean and they cleaned up fully behind themselves. Always wore foot coverings in the house. They did everything possible to make sure that I was happy with the price and their work. I would recommend these guys to anyone! While outside, I introduced one of the men to my neighbor who, upon my recommendation, hired them to do a job for him which they did as soon as they finished with my project. On a scale of 1-10, I'd give them an 11!
Description of Work: Reseated 2 Toto toilets - Fixed 2 tub faucets - removed wet bar sink and capped off - broke through concrete slab in dining room to fix broken iron drain pipe from kitchen sink. Iron pipe was beyond repair, capped off. Then cut through kitchen exterior brick to install new outside PVC drain that went all the way to the rear of the house and tied into the main drain. Installed 3 new clean out access pipes. Installed new main clean out cap in the rear of the house (old one was corroded). Re-cemented floor hole and totally cleaned up. Replaced cleaned brick in the exterior wall and mortared in very nicely. All done with city of Plano permit and inspection.

I called Legacy Plumbing to obtain an estimate for a repair after reading reviews on Angie's List. I had roots growing in the mainline by the clean out in the front of the house discovered by another plumber during a camera inspection. I spoke with Theron to get a rough estimate. The amount he quoted me was about what the original plumber quoted me. He was pleasant on the phone. He did say he would call me when he was through with the job he was currently doing (he said about 20 minutes) so that he could double check his numbers based on the length and depth of the pipe that needed to be replaced. I didn't hear back from him. We decided to go with the original plumber, so I did not call Legacy again.

Legacy plumbing was extremely responsive. They told us exactly what they would do each step of the way and gave us an estimate on time and cost. They showed up right when they said, sometimes earlier after they phoned to be sure an earlier time would be ok. They got the job done efficiently and for what they told us it would cost. We had gotten other estimates and knew their price was fair. Our job was a two-day job because after installing the line, the city inspector had to come out and inspect. Then Legacy came back and filled in the hole. Legacy did this very fast. Rain was expected in our forecast, so they wanted to be sure they got to us before it rained. They were successful! They answered any questions we had and were upfront and honest. We are very pleased with the service we received.
Description of Work: We had several leaks in our outside water line from the street. Legacy Plumbing came out and identified where the leaks were and replaced the line since the leaky line was as old as our house (1973!)

They are very professional. Their pricing was great; it was neither too high nor too low. They were right there with most of them. They were fair and not overpriced. It was fine. Their service was excellent. I would highly recommend them. The water heater was about $1200, but we already had our water heater. It was under warranty and so we got one free to be replaced. The amount that I paid him was for labor. We also already purchased the forceps for the sink which was about $145 I think. I would use their services again in the future.

Legacy Plumbing was great. Before they ever came out, they asked me to describe the problem we were experiencing and right away, he said it was likely a specific drain and told me what they would need to do and how much it would cost. When the plumber got here, indeed it was the drain I was told about on the phone. He had to snake it from the roof but that really did the trick. I've used alot of plumbers over the years but will stick with this one. I certainly recommend them.

Legacy was able come out the very next morning. Quoted $107 for the first 45 minutes to locate the underground leak. They did this is in much less time and actually gave me credit since they didn't take 45 minutes. They were very professional, courteous, efficient, and cleaned up their mess! I was surprised it didn't cost me more and they weren't into price gouging me as I am not familar with what it takes to fix these types of issues. As a result, they have my business from now on!!!!!!

What can I say these guys were amazing!! Our estimate was 1/2 of two other companies, they showed up on time, explained everything and delivered on EVERYTHING they said they would do - I never had such a good experience. Wayne was my lead plumber and he was terrific! The drainpipe we needed to be repaired was below my driveway about 6 feet down. They located the broken pipe with some type of camera and were able to only place a small hole so to minimize the repairs required to the driveway. The tank-less heater was only one unit when the other company said we needed two. I would recommend these guys and will use them again!!

Wayne arrived with an introduction and a handshake. We looked at the suspected area where the water was leaking in the front yard. He used metering equipment to help find it within 15 minutes. To get to the line, he broke a line to my irrigation system and repaired it at no charge. The hole to get to the line was huge but it looks pretty good after his repair. Wayne came into the house and looked at both my hot water heaters and noted issues and provided a quote. He tried to correct a problem in a shower which grew because the diverted in the shower is plastic and calcified. I was happy that he didn't leave me in a lurch forcing an immediate repair.
Description of Work: My main waterline from the city meter was leaking to the house. Wayne found the leak quickly and repaired two leaks where the copper met the house water line. While he was there, he took a look and estimated my water heater repairs as well as a problem in a shower.

My first encounter was with the owner, Theron, who gave me a quote over the phone and then scheduled installation for the next day. He was very professional and informative, answered all my questions to my satisfaction. He also has his prices and products listed on his web site which I really appreciated as I was able to research his brand of water heaters, discovering that they are highly rated and helped me to make the decision to go with his company. Matt Lawrence did the actual installation. He did such a grea job; was very impressed that he was happy doing what he was doing. There are so many people that you just know that they are doing something just because they have to, not Matt. He took his tme to explain what he was doing and why, cleaned up after himself and working alone, did the job in record time. He smiled all the time! During the installation, Theron, the owner, arrived to deliver a part. I didn't even know he was here but he knocked on my door and just stated "I like to meet my customers" and thanked me for the business. This simple act of kindness will forever have me on his loyalty list! Extremely pleased with this company and thank you Angie's list for this venue.

Called Legacy and talked to Theron and he was very detailed in his questioning to be able to give me a bid. This was different from the two other companies I called that just ask a few basic questions, before giving me a quote. I also had one company come out to give a quote in person. I felt the quote was fair (nearly the lowest), but I was willing to pay slightly more being that Theron's quote seemed to include everything like new copper piping, where as the others indicated there may be additional charges. The quotes ranged from $1200-$1900. It certainly pays to call around. I made the appt for the next day between 10:00am and 12:00. Matt and Wayne arrived at 9:50am and started right away. They were thorough and professional. They ended up finishing the install in about 2.5 hours. They also walked me through all the work that was done to see if I had in questions. While they were here I asked them about trouble getting hot water in two bath tubs we rarely use and they told me that since it was a Moen to just call the manufacturer and they would send the necessary parts for free. This saved me about $70 from having to buy it myself. I definitely recommend Legacy Plumbing and I will be calling again so that they can install the parts. Great customer service goes a long way.
