I contacted Frisco Electric after having trouble getting another electrician to my home to service the very large entry-way chandelier in our home that began sparking after replacing lightbulbs (turned out the painter had accidentally bent the wires when he pulled the chandelier out of the way with a rope - not an ideal situation, but it happens!). From the call with Susan in the office to the electrician being kind enough to wait to come to our home until a real-estate agent and potential home-buyers left - these guys were fantastic! The only reason the price was as high as it was, was because it took two guys to bring and set up a very large ladder (completely understandable). Won't hesitate to call them for any electrical issues in the future. Thank you Frisco Electric!
Description of Work: The electrician and his apprentice rewired melted wiring in the very large entry-way chandelier.

Fantastic! I contemplated trying myself and am glad Vince came to the rescue. There was a 40-amp double-pole breaker where a 35-amp goes. He checked the A/C unit to ensure he replaced the defective one with an appropriate match. Very thorough, and he was less than 1/2 the price the AC tech was going to charge. We've used Vince in the past and he is excellent at what he does, and very honest and straightforward as well. Nothing else a reasonable person could ask for!
Description of Work: Vince came out on short notice to replace a critical circuit breaker (A/C).

The crew at Frisco Electric are great to deal with. Julie is wonderful in getting everything planned out. I had a huge list of things I needed to get done and they were able to schedule days to get it taken care of. The electrician who showed up was very knowledgable and knew when to alert me to what needed to be done to meet code and how it has to be completed to make it right. So far i am extremely satisfied with their work and I will continue to use them. You can see by my list they had a LOT to do around here. They spent two and half days here getting everything done and setup correctly and it all turned out great. I tossed in a few curve balls in the final days to get certain items put in but they were able to take care of it all. As I said before it turned out really great and I have no doubt I would be calling them again to do more work in the future.

Aaron did exactly what I needed to have done. He was prompt, professional and courteous. Although the price was slightly more than what I was originally quoted, I was fine with it as I was finally able to see the light at the end of a very LONG drawn out project that I started and Aaron was able to get me back on track with my DIY project. I would definitely contact them again in the future for when the need arises for an electrician.

ceiling fans, electrician

Our house did not have ceiling fans in a couple bedrooms and in our living room. The living room had a slanted ceiling so we knew it was going to take some sort of special work to get a fan in there. Aaron from Frisco Electric came out one day and gave us a quote for the work. He was very thorough in his explanation of what work would be done. He was also willing to price a few different options, then allow us to choose what services we wanted/needed (à la carte if you will). After a week we decided to go ahead and schedule the work to be done. Julie at the office was very pleasant and helpful, and worked with our schedule to get it done as soon as possible. On the day scheduled for work, I was told they would be there at 8:30 a.m. At around 9:00 a.m. Aaron and another Frisco Electric employee (I'm sorry I can't remember his name, but he was also very friendly) showed up. It wasn't a huge deal, and I understand sometimes traffic and other events outside our control can cause delays. As soon as they showed up, they quickly got down to business. We reviewed all the services that I had chosen and made sure we were on the same page. They worked quickly and Aaron conversed with me over everything including placement of fan electrical boxes based on room centering, to placement of new switches based on height from floor. He really does treat your home like it was his own, and is very detailed. I left to meet my wife for lunch, and felt very comfortable with Aaron and his helper at our home. When I returned they had finished working, and were sitting in their truck waiting on me to get back. Aaron went through everything and explained what work had been done. After originally quoting me for the special wiring that needed to be done on our living room fan, he was actually able to save us money by gaining access through the attic (previously weren't sure if it would be possible). In the end, we actually ended up paying slightly less than what was quoted. After they finished working, they cleaned everything up and left it just the way they had found it. Overall I was very pleased with the service, work, and prices. I will definitely be calling Frisco Electric next time I need an electrician for something around the house.

Giving them a grade D because they were more expensive than hiring a lawyer. Paid $164 for less than 30 minutes of work. Would not have hired them had they informed me upfront about their rates. I am located in a Frisco and they are also located in the same town. Adjusted one of the motion detector and said the other one is bad . Also checked a ceiling fan as we believed it was not turning at high speed . Found nothing wrong with the fan. Nothing phenomenal about the service as I had to urge them to see if there is power coming in otherwise they would have concluded both sensors are bad. Overall fairly unhappy about paying high price for less than 30 minutes of work. Update on 7/10/2014 I found out during night that the motion detector they wanted me to replace worked fine and just needed adjustment to improve motion sensor's visibility. They did not check properly if the power was coming in and incorrectly concluded the detector is bad. Also they only checked to see if power was coming in after I asked them to do so. Will never hire this company again!!

Thank you for the feedback, it would have been nice had you talked to us about it while we were there. We did the work you requested with the information available at the time at a fair price. The time taken was quicker than normal since we sent a Master Electrician with a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and a Journeyman Electrician with total 55 years of combined experience to your home. Normally we do not send that much manpower to such a job but that was how the schedule worked out that day. The motion sensor was and is bad since it has a 'day' setting and would not come on during the day. The other motion sensor worked since it would come when placed in 'day' mode. Whether it would work at night is something we could not test during the day. We did adjust the sensitivity and 'on' time for each sensor and we are pleased to hear that both are now working in the evening. We also re-aimed them for better operation. The manual you gave us to troubleshoot with was for a different brand/type of motion sensor. We gave you a fair bid price of $150.00 each to relocate the sensors away from the rain gutters so they would work better and you declined to do the work. Having you flip the switch on and off while we worked on it didn't help either. I understand you were trying to help but it made it harder to determine what was happening when it was happening. The ceiling fan that would not 'run fast' was on a remote wall control. We went through the various speeds of the fan and determined that it was set on medium speed via the pull chain. It should have been set on high. We set the fan speed to high with the pull chain and it is now working as fast as it can. We can't be held accountable that your ceiling fan will not run as fast as you expect it to. Again we appreciate any feedback and use it as a cross check on our policies and procedures.

Frisco Electric was scheduled to come by my house and bid a job today, and I am giving them an "F" for Flakiness. They were a "no-show" for our scheduled appointment today, and after being nearly 30 minutes late, after the scheduled time to bid the job, I emailed Frisco Electric (via Angie's List) to let them know their employee did not show up for the appointment. At 40 minutes past our scheduled appointment time, as I was leaving my house, the Frisco Electric employee pulls up in my driveway. I told him he was 40 minutes late, he had wasted my time, and he might as well get back in his truck and leave, as I had things to do/errands to run, before the end of the day, and I do not tolerate tardiness, POOR etiquette, and no communication about being late. My TIME is just as valuable as anyone else's, and showing up severely late is highly unprofessional and utterly disrespectful of others/customers. Frisco Electric could have emailed me (to tell me their employee was not going to be able to show up, or severely late) as they had both of my phone numbers and email (or email through Angie's List). I received no communication from them, about this matter. June 20, 2014 Update: When you make an exact definitive time to be at a (potential) customer's house, 10 minutes late, is reasonable with traffic delays, etc. Beyond that, a call should be made to a customer, or an attempt (of some kind--email, calling dispatch to obtain alternate phone #'s, etc.), which your employee did not do. What is defined as a "no show" is not showing up for an appointment at the time scheduled. 40 minutes late, would be defined as a "no show". For example, try showing up 40 minutes late for a "plane flight" at the airport....the plane would have already taken off, and you'd be a "no show". Showing up for a golf tee time 40 minutes late, ....they give your spot to the next person in line, and therefore, you're a "no show" for the time scheduled. Therefore, arriving 40 minutes later..... than the scheduled time for an appointment, is not "showing up" for the appointment.
Description of Work: Frisco Electric was supposed to come bid a job for me, with the approximate cost being around $1000 to $1500 I would say.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We take all feedback seriously. I reviewed the job lead for the free estimate with my tech and the office manager who scheduled the call with you. The tech made attempts to contact you regarding his schedule change but the number he had was incorrect. We try to respect the clients time and setup schedules with very small windows rather than saying sometime between noon and 5 pm. Their schedule moves up or back depending on how the work goes. It is not an exact science. He did make it to give the free estimate, so he was not a no-show. We are making changes to insure the phone numbers are correctly recorded and dispatched to the tech. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Aaron came out to give us an estimate and we scheduled the installation for the next week Thursday. We had also gotten an estimate from another highly rated Angie's List electrician. The price was competitive. Aaron arrived at the scheduled time of 8:30 AM. Immediately began installing. Everything went very smoothly. The work was very professionally done and he cleaned up each work area as each job was completed. He also removed the boxes and old fixtures. I would definitely recommend Frisco Electric if you want a highly qualified electrician to do the job correctly the first time.

This is my second time to use Frisco Electric. The first time they came out was to install some LED lights in the bathroom and to install a new quad-plug by one of the bathroom vanities. The first time Frisco Electric came out, unfortunately during the job, one of the mirrors in the bathroom was broken. This was merely an accident and not a big deal at all. However, the owner refused to take my money for the completed job until he was able to replace my mirror, which was replaced in 2 days. At that time, I paid the full contract price. The bottom line was a.) the problem was handled with class and integrity, b.) the installation was perfect and c.) the price was reasonable. The second installation was for my 4 ceiling fans. Aaron came out and did the installation, which was handled perfectly! Aaron was very friendly and professional. He hung the fans without a hint of an issue and I am, once again, very happy with Frisco Electric, as are a bunch of my neighbors who use them, as well. I wish all companies were run like Frisco Electric. I will be a customer for life.

Aaron of Frisco Electric came to my house with his assistant and they took down the old fixture, and connected the new one. They had an oversized tall ladder and were very careful not to hit my walls. They were polite and professional. I was also having a couch delivered that morning and they were installing in my front entry way, so they finished up quicker than imagined. I was more than satisfied with Aaron's work, as he took the time to ensure the fixture was hung at the height I wanted and graciously put a new light bulb in a nearby fixture which was too high for my regular ladder to reach. That fixture had a broken (cracked/smashed) bulb still in the fixture, which he removed. He also took the glass cover off of that fixture and offered that I could rinse it off while he was there, which I did, and it looks amazing. It had years of dust on it because it had been too high to reach. He did this without asking for any additional payment. I will definitely use Frisco Electric again! Aaron and his assistant were on time, polite, friendly, and did super work. Thank you so much, Aaron, for being such a great professional!!
Description of Work: Frisco Electric gave me an estimate to hang a lighting fixture (chandelier) in my entry way (18 foot celing). Their estimate was reasonable and the eletrician seemed the most professional of the bunch from which I received estimates. The work was scheduled and completed. The fixture looks beautiful! Great work.

Vince and Eric were punctual, polite and knowledgeable answered all my questions and gave good explanations. Turned out outlets not working because I had overloaded the circuit (tea kettle and 4 slice toaster at the same time) breaker had tripped. So no actual work performed outside of troubleshooting and flipping switch in breaker. Was somewhat surprised to have to pay a trip fee as well as 1 hour labor, but I guess I should have asked that question when I made the appointment.
Description of Work: Trouble shot some outlets not working, provided estimate to replace breaker box, answered questions about wiring various applicances.
