Wonderful experience! Clay's Clippers listens to what you want, will stick to your budget and delivers on the quality you expect. They are professional throughout the entire process and willing to adjust if something doesn't meet your expectations. They are local residents so act with the highest integrity to ensure your are happy beyond the installation. You may find other providers that are less expensive but I would make sure the quality compares to Clay's Clippers as it is outstanding. From a design standpoint, they incorporate your ideas but are willing to assist if you don't even know where to start. Overall a great experience.

They did an outstanding job. They did everything they said they do, they were there when they said they'd be there and have followed up several times. I was very happy with the final product and would recommend them to anyone.

Clay's Clippers is an extremely professional landscape design and installation company. They also perform all of the lawn maintenance on a weekly basis with thorough attention to detail. I have used Clays Clippers for at least 8 years and have always been impressed with the quality of their work, dependability, and responsiveness.

They work here every week doing the general upkeep and periodic work as required.

Clay's clippers has been doing my yard for three summer and it always looks great. They are always on time and have always shown up. I needed my garden completely redone two summer ago and they did a beautiful job. Completely satisfied. I will continue to use them each summer for my yard and garden needs.

Everytime we've called they have responded quickly to the HOA Boards requests. I received quotes in a timely manner and prompt attention. Often we feel the most important to Clay Clippers. Our relation ship has been over 2 years and we have no desire to make any changes to our company relationship. The entire HOA looks amazing, trees are well kept and the grass is picture perfect. Although, we still have lots we'd like to do there is no doubt we wil be doing this with Clay Clippers!

I love the service Clay and his team provides. They are easy to work with and he communicates great with his clientele. At the beginning of each season he sends out a detailed email about when service will commence, how often he will mow each month and in which months he will be applying the yard treatments. I love this as it can budget my yard service fees to the penny for the entire year. Clay is quick to respond if there is any issue or concern and rectifies any problem the very next time out. I also get a detailed invoice for my records each month showing what work will be performed and when for that month. I also hold Clay in high regard as he works very hard, he is polite, prompt and doesn't waste your time. If he can't do it he will tell you. I also have respect for Clay as he serviced our country and those that have done so, for any period of time garner respect in my book. Fact of the matter is, Clay performs and does exactly what I pay him for and in the 3 plus years I have been using Clay and his team, I've not had a single issue.

As always, the work was done professionally and in a timely manner. Clay's Clippers pays great attention to detail and all the work that they have done for us has been top notch. We know we can trust them to listen to our needs, create beautiful designs and complete the work as promised with quality materials all for a fair price. We have hired them to design and install our landscapes at our last 2 homes and we have always been pleased. They are my "go to" landscaping and design company.

We have used Clay's Clippers several times for Landscaping Services (design, planting & hardscape). Christal knows her plants! Her designs are great and she keeps in mind our goals & uses for the yard. She's chooses the plants at area nurseries but works with us when we have plants & trees from different nurseries or if we want to transplant a current plant. In 2010 they designed & landscaped our entire back yard including a water fountain bed. In 2011 we added a potager garden with raised beds & an arbor. In 2013 they landscaped the entire front yard & side yard along the driveway using boulders & wide stone border. In 2014 we added a butterfly garden & bed along the other side of our house complete with a flag stone path. We love it & get compliments on our yard regularly. Clay's Clippers is a fabulous company with honest, talented, & hardworking people. I highly recommend them.

They show up, mow yard (included edging and blowing) and leave within five minutes. Yard looks perfect.

All I can say is fantastic!! We were on a timeline with an upcoming high school graduation party and wanted to totally update the landscape in our front and back yard. Clay's Clippers was able to layout a great design taking into account our wants and needs plus a few tweaks and implement with a professional team. The work took a couple days and all workers were extremely polite, communicated expectations clearly, and left the worksite cleans. Big thank you to Clay and Christal for a great team effort. We love the finished product.

Awesome! Clay has been taking care of my lawn for a little over 4 years and I have never been anything but pleased. They are reasonably priced, reliable and do a fantastic job. As well, in 2014 Clay picked out and planted a tree for the back yard! The tree is gorgeous and thriving. Clay's Clippers is my go to for landscaping needs. You guys rock, Kandace

Very professional and great service!

Started a new contract for mowing and fertilization and after being charged for 2 fertilization and 1 mowing in March for $139.64 got one mowing done before admitted to hospital. After coming back discovered there was no service done and not sure about fertilization either, since the weeds were popping everywhere. Contacted the owner and got some email back that it was some mistake that i was dropped off the service, but i'll get back and got charged for upcoming mowing services for $62.79 and promise that next monday will get a service, monday eve emailed that didnt get the service and no response, now it's tuesday and i'm switching to a more reliable provider.

They are a very professional and knowledgeable operation-They both listed too and incorporated some of our ideas into their designs. We are completely satisfied with our new landscaping and would recommend them to anyone who needs any type landscaping service

Clay and his wife Christal completed a full backyard landscaping package for our new home. Christal was a real expert when it came to design and plant choices and invited us out to the nursery to see the plants in person. The best thing about her is that she is so detail oriented! I have found most people are really detailed or they just aren't...and if they aren't things can get sloppy fast. Not so with these guys, Clay is ex-military and no stone is left un-turned (pardon the pun). Everything went really smooth, the job was completed in just a couple of days after we choose the layout we wanted, and the yard looks simply amazing, with clear instructions on how to maintain it ourselves. And to top it off the whole thing came in under budget. These guys are a rare find and just about the nicest couple you will meet!

I love working in the yard but I knew the issues with the front yard needed some professionals. I'm so pleased we chose Clay's Clippers. From erosion issues, plants at end of life and miscellaneous other issues, Christal, Clay and their crew had a solution and suggestions for every item on my list. Between Christal's professional horticultural knowledge and creativity and Clay's attention to detail and keeping everything and everyone moving, they are a great team. Christal us understand what we did and most importantly DIDN'T need to do. This was an expensive project but could have been even more so if Christal had not guided us in that we did not need to replace our irrigation system but just replace it, also she was very helpful in using the rocks, trees and perennials that we already had.

I should have known from my initial contact with this company that it wouldn't end well. I didn't trust my instincts. Initially, I called Clay's Clippers for a quote to place landscaping stones around my flower beds/tree rings. I asked Clay after our initial conversation to speak to my wife about design. He asked me to have her call him to set up a time to come over. My wife called him that day and he never returned the call. When I asked him why, he emailed me, stating "We spoke and, I thought, she was going to call me when she was close to your house and I would come over? Sorry for the misunderstanding." Completely false, however, I found another company to work with on the stone work. Fast forward to May 17. I sent Clay an e-mail asking, the following: "Clay: In the future, please tell your crews to be a little more careful around our kids' $3,000 wooden playset. This set is 2 months old and already damaged by your crew. I would appreciate it if your team would be respectful of items on my property.". The response was, "I will have a talk with them. I will say in their defense that any wooden structure in any grass is subject to some damage with a weed eater." Guess what.... either he never spoke to his crew or he and the crew just flat-out don't care about their customers' property (which is the more likely scenario). I was still patient and allowed him to keep mowing my lawn, thinking he would remediate the issue. Wrong again. Today, I have cancelled my service with this company and their sarcastic, condescending, unprofessional owner, Clay. I sent Clay an e-mail asking him to call me and I included the pictured of my damaged playset, based on his crews' carelessness. He didn't call me, rather, he responded with the following: "What would you like to discuss about the picture? The weed eater line is hitting the wood." The picture clearly showed that the weed eater line was hitting the playset 4-6 inches off of the lawn. Our grass has never been high enough to justify having their weed eater lines that high off the ground. Additionally, you can see by the picture that this negligence has been happening for weeks, given the significant damage. Moreover, there have been multiple times where his crew merely runs over anything in the lawn. Minor items like a piece of sidewalk chalk or a small toy, however, this demonstrates that you, the customer, are merely a dollar sign to Clay. He couldn't care less about you or your property. I am going to be sending Clay a bill for the damage. We shall see if he does the right thing by paying it. Bottom line: AVOID THIS HORRIBLE COMPANY! Update after company response: It's unfortunate that Clay continues to attempt deception for potential clients, on Angie's List. However, I am confident if people read my review and then Clay's response, it will be obvious what is going on. First of all, Clay stated "the part about me not being able to answer my phone is true". I NEVER called Clay about this situation. I E-MAILED him, because I am smart enough to know that Clay doesn't "sit in an office waiting for the phone to ring". I asked him to call me, which he didn't. Instead, he replied with his sarcasm, as I indicated in my original review. Second, Clay's assertion about play sets being damaged by weed eaters is absolutely true IF the company couldn't care less about your property. My neighbors have the same play set. They have been using a lawn service for the last 2 years and there is only ONE mark from a weed eater, and the mark is level to the grass, not 4-6 inches above the grass, as demonstrated by Clay's Clippers lack of concern for their customer's property (see picture). If Clay "runs the landscaping crew", then he is absolutely derelict in his responsibilities. I am looking forward to utilizing the same company as my neighbors, as I will no longer be concerned about my play set being damaged further. Bottom line Angie's List customers, if you want your property to remain intact, please do not use Clay's Clippers. As you can see from Clay's lackadaisical response, their attitude is horrible and their service is irresponsible and rushed. They will not treat your property with the care your property deserves. Additionally, I am revising my original "B" rating to a "C" rating for responsiveness and punctuality, given the way Clay handled our initial conversations. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. There are plenty of mowing services in North Dallas who will actually care about their customer. Moreover, please look at Clay's Clippers' reviews on Yelp. Apparently, not only do they not care about your property, they don't care about how their crews drive through neighborhoods. If I would have read that review prior to signing up with Clay's, I never would have picked up the phone.

Clay's Clippers - Christal and Clay - the absolute best! We really enjoyed working with Christal and Clay, they did a GREAT job, and our back yard looks exactly the way we had hoped. We had a plan drawn by a landscape designer which we went over with Christal, she had some great information and suggestions for changes, and we are really happy with the plants and the final design. Christal is a great communicator, worked with us through every step of the process, kept us informed, and always did what she said she would do - plus some. Clay and his crew always came prepared , showed up on time and worked hard - in spite of the July heat! After the installation, Christal went through the plan for taking care of the new plants and trees, gave us written instructions to refer to and there is a follow-up plan to make sure all the plants are doing well. Excellent company and excellent people to work with.
