Description of Work: The heating coil on my clothes dryer died. I was pretty sure that was the problem, but the technician checked several potentially less-expensive causes, first. Alas, it was the coil; so he replaced it from stock in his truck. My dryer was up and running again in no time, and for much less than a new dryer. | |I've been using ARS for years, but they no longer do appliances in my neighborhood. I will definitely use Captains again.

Description of Work: Replaced keypad on 2 year old maytag dishwasher.

Description of Work: Was delighted that I called and someone was out just a couple of hours later! |The only thing is that I later checked online at average cost of the ice maker plus service charges and it seems Captain Cooling was a little high - no real complaint as a guy coming within a couple of hours is great!

Description of Work: Checked out old refrigerator and confirmed it would cost more to fix than it was worth. We bought a new one after the check up.

Description of Work: Jerry came to service my 2 year old GE front load washer that periodically freezes when 1 minute is left in the cycle and a small portion of water has not drained. After unplugging and waiting several minutes before restarting, the machine picks up where it left off and finishes. Jerry determined there was no drainage issues and attempted to get a "tech sheet" to run a check on the software which seemed to be in order. He has a query out to his GE contacts to see if the computer board needs replacement. If so, my $79 service call will be credited to the repair.

Description of Work: Service call for a gas range on 1/06/2015. They had to order one part. Three days later on 1/09/2015 they returned to replace 3 different parts and the stove is working perfectly. Thanks

Description of Work: Inspected mold on kitchen ceiling and found the cause in the attic at the AC unit. Very knowledgeable, helpful and professional.

Description of Work: They fixed a loose wire in the wash machine. It went good. Service consisted of removing the front panel of the front load wash machine. He found the loose wire and connected it better. Took about 5 minutes plus time to remove and replace front panel and move washer back in place. I thought it was a bit expensive for the work performed, but he did a good job and my washer is working now so I'm very satisfied.

Description of Work: Replaced fan in Maytag side by side fridge. They had to order the replacement part and came back in the same week to complete repair.

Description of Work: Called for an appt. They arrived on time and were successful in repairing our washer. We have used them previously and always had a good experience.

Description of Work: Came out to fix my refrigerator. Told me that I should buy a new one rather than fix the one I had. Was very prompt returning my call, showed up exactly when he said that he would and even gave me advise on which brand to buy. Had an overall great feeling about them...will use next time I am in need.

Description of Work: We have an older model Maytag side by side icebox that was in our home when we moved in. Mark was extremely knowledgeable about our unit. He replaced a fan motor and the unit still did not work properly - THEN, he discovered some crossed wires - corrected the wiring and we were in business! We will absolutely use them again - for any type of repairs they are qualified to do!

Description of Work: He was going to replace the door switch to my gas dryer, but looked at the wiring diagram first and realized it had been wired wrong by a previous repairman. He had ordered a new switch already, but instead rewired the switch that was there and the dryer was fixed. I was not charged for the switch he ordered. He said he might be able to use it some other time. I didn't tell him anything other than the dryer wouldn't run. He was very courteous and professional. I will use him again if I need him. David

Description of Work: I called this company three times over a period of four days and was given a second name and number to contact each time. I left voice mail with the second number twice and recalled the original number to report that the second number/alternate repairman did not call back after two voice mails. The person at captians cooling stated they would find out about why I was not getting feedback and call me right back. I did not get a call back after that either. I felt this was a complete waste of my time as I could have chosen another company and had my appliance fixed by now! I will not call nor will I recommend this company to anyone.
