Sent tech out to tell me what I already knew & told them. AC/Heat completely shot/rusted & needed replacement. Charged me $85 for call which they said would be credited if I hired them. I hired them for $6500. I requested they check the ducts for leaks which they did not. This is a rental so I wasn't always there. I was never notified the when the started or finished. 2 weeks later I got a call from them saying I owed them $85. Confused, I asked why & was told it was for the initial diagnosis which they forgot to charge me. When I inquired about the fact I should have been credited since I hired them they just got rude. Today I noticed they charged my CC $85 without authorization. This company has no communication skills & will charge your CC without permission.

If there were a rating HIGHER than "A" I would happily give it to AirCo! These people run their company the way we wish ALL service folks did. You really want all the details…….? On Memorial Day weekend my 20 year old air cond stopped cooling; unit came with the house so I had a Home Warranty Co in case something went wrong. They had done minor repairs over the past few years. Turns out this time it was the coil. I'll spare you the details of the miserable situation I found myself in between the Home Warranty Co and the AC provider they sent out, but after a WEEK of back and forth and still no resolution, I fired them both and called AirCo on 6-7; I had "interviewed" them 2 years ago but decided not to get a new unit at that time. So I called the office to have someone come out. Office person said they could be there at 2 but I had a meeting I couldn't get out of. Got put on hold for 5 seconds and when she came back she said Craig could be at my house in one hour!! Craig was 10 min earlier than expected, had the proposal written in about 15 min. and set the install date for 6-14. Install people also showed up early, very polite and happy guys and they got right to work. That might have been the end of the story EXCEPT, stuff does happen now and then! One of the install guys missed his footing and stepped thru my kitchen ceiling. He was fine, but big hole! I called Craig who said they had a great guy, Miguel, who handles all repairs and to call the office and tell Stacy. Called, Stacy was "not available" BUT Paula could help me! Paula said she'd call Miguel and he'd call me, also gave me his phone number. Literally 10 min later Miguel called, all apologetic it took him so long! Bottom line: Install folks patched the hole, finished their install and cleaned up beautifully. Miguel came the following day and did the initial fix; we let the paint dry 4 days and he returned to finish with a second coat of paint. Had a picky neighbor come see the repair job and even HE couldn't tell anything had happened. I am such a satisfied customer! Call them!!!

The sales, office and installation staff were all polite, professional and a pleasure to work with. All questions were addressed thoroughly and promptly. The install job appeared quality work. I'm no expert, but the Fort Worth inspector who came out also said this is a good HVAC contractor. I got 4 bids for the job for a top of the line variable speed high efficiency system, and Airco beat the next lowest bid by almost $3,000. I thought it was too good to be true, but they had a special price arrangement with Trane on the specific system I got because of high volume (an area builder that uses Airco for new home builds was putting this system in all their new builds). Anyway my system is so quiet and so much more efficient. Very pleased with the Trane system and Airco's install.

Contacted AirCo three times this past week--twice through ANGIES List detailing my A/C problem and asking to be contacted. Told them my contact was based on reviews I'd read and that I wanted to buy new, dual HVAC systems for my 2-story house next year , but needed help keeping current system as optimal as possible for one more season. Wanted to discuss. Not even the courtesy of a reply--to any of my three attempts the week of 3/14/16. Enough said, right?

Kristin, a sales associate, was the reason we selected AIRCO for this work. She was knowledgeable and informative regarding what we needed done. The price she quoted was reasonable for the work. The shortfall between proposed work and actual results came when only 2 men came to do the work that should have had 3 performing. The crew showed up promptly Saturday morning as scheduled and went right to work...unfortunately there was too much to be done in one day by only two men. They worked consistently throughout the day, but in the end, started cutting corners in order to finish and go home. It was after dark when they left, and I could not properly inspect their workmanship until the next day, when I found incomplete and shoddy work. In defense of AIRCO, they agreed promptly to revisit the jobsite and finish the job properly. I was uncomfortable when the same 2 workers showed up, but this time their supervisor was with them. I enumerated the deficiencies, and expectations for corrections, which they accomplished (took them over 2 hours). I downgraded them on quality because it took a second trip to finish the job properly, and on professionalism, because of the attitude of one of the 2 workers who did the work (sarcasm and obvious resentment for having to return). AIRCO redeemed themselves, and I am happy with the final results.

Arrived on time on, 1st system proved to be a challenge for the install crew. The 2nd system went 50% smoother. Cleanup took some prooding; I asked if they cleaned up knowing I could see sheet metal screws everywhere; and they said yes. Had to point to the screws to get them to see they hadn't cleaned up. 2nd crew didn't have any issues. Sales tech was less than desirable. Wouldn't listen too anything thing I had to say. Got the scheduled date wrong, came out to "balance" the system and came by herself with no tools,

the two men who came and installed the unit did a perfect job. Also when we contacted the person (Kristin) who came out and checked our old unit was the most professional person so far we came across. She checked everything including going up in the attic and checking vents which later we will have replaced when we can. She did a very thorough job for which impressed us. I would recommend this company for any jobs you might have.

From the bid, to scheduling, to the actual installation and removal of old equipment, all went extremely well! Airco was significantly lower on their bid than my then current provider. Kristin Hensley, the sales rep, was very knowledgeable and straightforward. There were no surprises from what we agreed upon, to what ended up being done. Andrew and his associate (sorry, I forgot his name) were here at the stated time, 8.30 am and worked non-stop on a hot June day, until the job was finished at about 4 pm. I was shown what they had installed and how to operate the new thermostat. The house was cooled back to it's normal temperature very quickly and if I hadn't seen, with my own eyes, the huge amount of equipment these guys had moved in and out, I would hardly have know they had been here! This was an outstanding transaction from sales to the installation!

Cheng called before he arrived and showed up when he said he would which was great but the office gave us a whopping 5 hour service window in which the technician could show up which was a bit ridiculous. Seriously if you know you're not scheduling me for the first visit don't tell me you could show up at 12pm! The technician didn't arrive until 4:30pm and the service took a full hour an a half so I don't see why they couldn't have said my visit window would have been from 4-6pm. Anyway the service itself was great. Cheng was thorough in his explanation of what he was doing. spoke clearly and precisely answered the questions we had. He took care to wear shoe coverings in the house, was friendly towards our dog and performed all of the tasks on his check list. He made sure before he left that we were satisfied with the service. During the Fall visit we were told that the ohm readings on our outside units were low and that a part would need to be replaced before they would operate correctly for the summer. This technician (a different one) did not detect any issues so now I am left wondering if the previous guy (who is no longer with the company) was telling me the truth. A bit disconcerting.

I have used AirCo since 2010 to perform twice-yearly standard maintenance on our AC/H units and to handle repairs. I have had a positive experience on each visit. Today's service was performed by Eric, who took the time to complete the job well and provided a detailed list of the parts inspected and cleaned on the service work order. He also noted the power disconnect that needed replacement, which I thought might have been caused by previous service, so he took the time out to examine the service records with me. He gave me the replacement price and, while he did have the part in his truck, he did not press me to purchase the repair -- which I consider a plus. Ultimately, I came to the conclusion that the problem with the disconnect was a new development and not the fault of prior service, so I opted for the repair. At this visit I purchased their maintenance program (which provides two maintenance visits in a 12 month period), which I have done since 2010. The cost of that program is $246. This program also gives a discount on repairs, so the repair cost was $242. The entire cost was $488, and I have a free maintenance visit to use within a year. I should also mention that every time I have dealt with AirCo, they have called the day before to confirm scheduled service, and call approximately 30 minutes before the technician arrives. They have superior telephone customer service. I recommend AirCo regularly to family and friends, and will continue to do so.

They are very prompt. They come when they say they are. They do a very good job. They are very professional. There wasn't anything they wouldn't or couldn't do and they followed through on everything. We were very pleased with their service. Because of what we got and how we are saving on electricity, we think that what we got in return was worth the price we paid. I have already recommended them to friends and neighbors. They also clean up after themselves after they are done which means a lot to me because some people don't do that.

My wife and I woke up the morning of Friday, Feb 27th to a cold home and smell of smoke. I called AirCo to come take a look and they sent a service tech over within 30 minutes. Our unit was 18 years old, and the tech let us know that it had completely failed and we needed to replace the entire unit. They were honest and let me know they could not install same day, and I thanked them for being up front and honest. I wanted to try and see if we could find a company to instal same day because my wife and I were headed out of the country for vacation the following day, and didn't want to have to worry about getting the install completed while we were out of town with the sub-freezing temperatures expected the next week. I called their competitor, A#1 Air, who told me several times that same day service would not be a problem. Not only was this not accurate, but after wasting several hours waiting for the salesman and spending time discussing options with them, they recommended a 13 seer Daiken heat pump with a total cost of $9,800 (I have a copy of the invoice to prove this). After wasting time with them, we were told that same day install was not possible (even after I asked several times and they assured me it would be possible), so I decided to get a competitive offer and called AirCo back to see what they could do to help. Sandy with AirCo was our salesperson, and I could not say enough great things about her and the great customer service experience she created with our purchase. She came out to the house right away and made me feel extremely comfortable with her recommendation as my wife and I both felt she genuinely wanted to make the process as easy as possible. This was especially important to me, given our situation with us heading out of the country and freezing temperatures expected for the upcoming week (we didn't want freezing pipes and had anxiety about such). She let me know that the unit A#1 Air was recommending was an old 2014 Daiken unit (Daiken only manufacures 14 seer units and greater starting in 2015), and she helped me save $2,300 by purchasing w/ AirCo!!! We ended up buying a 14 seer Daiken heat pump for $7,500 total cost, which also included a Nest thermostat (extremely cool, works w/ my iPhone), five air filters for future use, added an extra air return in my home office, all on top of great customer service which I can't put a price tag on. Sandy overcommunicated through the entire process and our friend that was watching our house for the install while we were out of town, and our friend said the install team was very professional, completed the work in a very timely manner, and cleaned up after themselves entirely. I could not say better things about Sandy and AirCo. It was a very stressful situation having our unit fail right before leaving for out of town, and Sandy was the hero of the day! I have told as many people as I can about our story and will continue to do so. Do yourself a favor and give Sandy & AirCo a chance at your business!

They messed it up originally and I had to call them back about three different times because it had a leak in the Freon line and they couldn’t get it resolved until about the third time. It took them about two years before they could finally get it resolved and it was frustrating. I had turned the unit off over the winter and when I had turned it back on in the spring, I found out that I had no air conditioning on the downstairs unit and I think the upstairs unit was okay. So I called them out again and they came out, they checked it out and found one thing or another. Finally about the second year they were able to resolve all of the problems and I haven’t had any issues with it since. It was a pretty frustrating experience. It was under warranty for the first two years. One of the issues was not really their problem, it was their manufacturer’s problem, the leak was in the heat exchanger upstairs in the attic, so they had to come out and replace that and they said that it was not an installation issue.

It is unfortunate that one of the two systems that AirCo installed had some problems. This installation was completed in October of 2010. Some manufacturer problems began showing up in July of 2011. There were three separate components that failed in the course of a few months; a rotolock fitting at the compressor, a thermal expansion valve (TXV) and the evaporator coil (located in the attic). None of these failures was caused by faulty installation. As each one of these items presented a problem, they were diagnosed promptly and replaced. Every effort was made to insure that the house was not without cooling while we waited for parts to arrive. All of the work was performed under warranty coverage with no charges to the homeowner. And as the homeowner has stated, there have been no further problems with either system.

I've used them a couple of times before. They are trying to see if it is covered by the warranty. They are very good. I had them call my tenants. They did a good job with them. They showed up on time and the price was reasonable. They answered the phone. They have a special person that answered the phone and communicated with the technicians. They called me once they found out the problem before they charged me to get it authorized.

The Trane system is a good system and the unit runs very quite. The service worker who installed the unit buried trash under the insulation instead of removing it from the attic area. This included a bucket of duct seal, 2x4 boards cut from the old frame support system and pieces of the old duct work. My main issue with the company is the fact that they will not service the unit once it has been installed. I contacted the Company today 06/04/2014 to set up a maintenance program for the unit. Airco offers several maintenance programs and I had requested the gold plan for a purchase price of $246.00 that includes two visits per year to completely service the unit. I was advised when I contacted them that they did not service my area for maintenance/service problems. They were more than happy to install the unit and take my 11,995 dollars but they do not want to service their product after the sale. I was advised by the company service representative that I would have to try to find a dealer in my area for the service. I also purchased an additional 10 year warranty package when I purchased the unit. The representative advised I would have to find a Trane dealer who would honor the additional warranty package I purchased. I was never advised when I was buying the unit that they would not service the unit and honor their product. If I had been provided this information, I would have purchased the unit from another dealer. Warning, before you purchase a system from a dealer, make sure they will be willing to work on the unit in the future.

I contacted Airco to see if I can get an appointment to perform a leak detection and a system recharge. I made the Initial contact on the website, requesting that they contact me with estimated quote. I received a voice mail from one of their representatives. When I called back they had no recollection of my contact, having given me a call just a few hours earlier, etc. I did not even get past the receptionist. I told the receptionist that if they cant even recollect my contacting them and leaving me a voicemail; how could I trust them with my business. I wished the receptionist a great day and ended the call.

I don't know if this is customary practice between local A/C companies, but the quote for repairs was almost as expensive as replacing the whole unit and the warranty is only for 2 years! The existing heat pump is only 5 years old (right at end of warranty period) and it was leaking refrigerant at the evaporator coil, meaning this piece of equipment has to be replaced. A quick search on the Internet revealed this equipment costs around $300 plus shipping and tax, say $400 at the most (and this is retail price to the general public which is generally higher than for contractors such as AIR CO). The quote was for $2,200 ! ! ! (with a 2-yr labor/parts warranty). This means a net profit of around $1,800 before taxes for a three-hour job! ! You can clearly see that the quote seems to be biased towards convincing the customer that replacing the whole system (which exceeds $3,000) would be more beneficial than replacing a part, making them seem like they would be safeguarding your pocket... Don't get caught in this practice! Call your trusted repairman and get a real quote! Of course I don't blame the person who came, he was just following company procedures, he would get paid the same no matter what. He was very knowledgeable and very professional, he found the problem right away and it only cost me $49 (hey let's be reasonable, gasoline is expensive these days...), the repair quote was relayed to him by phone from the company. Thanks but no thanks AIR CO, I just contacted my trusted source and he will do the job for much less than HALF of your quote, using the same equipment, with the same warranty! To be fair, I suspect it would have been the same no matter what company I called...you can't teach an old dog new tricks... The other detail is that I was told they would call ahead of time, to let me know of the exact appointment time. I never got a call and the repairman was lucky I just showed up at the house when he was pulling in... Sorry if this is a negative review for a presumably reputable company but I am speaking from the heart! That's why I always use Angie's list with skepticism... I've had mixed results.
Description of Work: The provider did an excellent job checking the equipment and finding the problem (residential heat pump system).

It went quite well. We were able to upgrade to a higher efficiency unit, get 36 months 0% financing and get it installed the same week we ordered it. We could not ask for anything more.
