It was a great service experience. It was not discovered until after work that the A/C was failing to cool - but was after normal working hours. I was able to call Willard Heating and A/C without an issue, scheduled for a tech to come out that evening. It took around an hour or so for a tech to show due to being on another late call in Plano. When they did arrive they went straight to work - located and corrected the problems - stayed a few minutes to be sure everything was working properly. The tech was very helpful, professional, and was able to answer any questions we had. We will definitely do business with them again if we have the need.
Description of Work: Price reflects emergency hour rate. The A/C unit was not cooling - when the technician checked the unit it was discovered that a capacitor was blown and wiring from it to the compressor was burned. The tech replaced both problems as well as checked the level of freon in the unit.

It went great. Victor was so helpful. He explained everything in great detail. He even was so kind as to kill a wasp nest that was located not too far from the unit! He was professional and I would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: Replaced capacitor and did a service check/ cleaned filters, checked unit in attic, etc. Included in the cost is an additional fall check to check the heater when it gets colder and to replace the filters again.

I just purchased a home in Terrell, TX and the prior owners neglected everything!! The AC was no exception. Earlier in the day, I had the air ducts cleaned because the interior grills were so filthy. I was told that doing this would make the AC dirtier. I arranged for Willard to come in the afternoon (after the air duct cleaning company). They cleaned the whole unit (the coil was disgusting, but the home inspector told me that, too). Willard replaced some tired parts and fixed my Freon levels. All was humming like a top. A few weeks later, on a Sunday, it DIED! Willard did not charge me for another service call, but came to check out the problem. I needed 2 new parts that were not terribly expensive. The service technician brought me out to the unit and, in a very detailed manor, explained to me all that was wrong and what needed to be replaced and why. He showed me the bad parts. I had never had an AC man be so thorough. He was very polite and soon after he left, my inside temp started coming down. Ahhh....relief. I would recommend this company and am so glad they made the trip to Terrell for me. I am always looking for new service providers in my area!
Description of Work: Completely cleaned and overhauled my unit which was in desperate need of attention. I also joined their maintenance program.

Willard Heating and Air was the installer on a new HVAC put into my commercial retail space in April 2012. When the unit failed about 3 weeks ago (in 102 degree heat), they came out and identified the problem -- a leak in the evaporator coils on the interior unit. They recharged the freon until a new coil could be ordered so that I could keep my business open and my clients comfortable. They came back on a Saturday morning before the shop opened and replaced the coil with a new one. At one point, they had to call in a third guy for some heavy lifting -- he arrived within 15 minutes to get the job done. Thankfully, the unit was under warranty, so cost to me was minimal. We have an annual service contract with Willard, too. They always arrive on time, they are courteous, and they are willing to explain / answer questions. We are planning to use their service for our home in the future when our home warranty runs out, and I would recommend Randy's company to anyone looking for reliable HVAC service.
Description of Work: The Willard crew assessed, identified problem and repaired AC unit that was not working. Found a leak in the evaporator coils.

Found unit low of feon and unable to locate leak. Need to return and recheck pressure. Daniel worked for hours trying to locate leak including crawling up in the attic tracing the lines. He put helium in the lines to build up pressure but still couldn't find leak. Next step is to run tests on each line to determine which line is losing pressure. Daniel showed up on time and was very professional.

Although considered and quot;best of breedand quot; in 2001, our 12-year-old major brand multizone central air conditioning system, installed and maintained by another local firm, never worked right, needed repairs at least once a quarter from the beginning, drowned out conversations as it (frequently) kicked into high speed trying to heat or cool the house, and increased rather than reduced our electric bill as promised. When their tech opened the air handler in March 2013 for our maintenance contract's scheduled semi-annual inspection, he found it full of brown fuzz and mold in the humidifier. At that point, we decided the equipment had to be replaced. The previous company made no attempt to contact us for repairs or a new system, so we spent several weeks reviewing other local companies. Bill Oates from Willard was one of three people who came out to give us an estimate. Although Willard's price was not the lowest, Bill was the most knowledgeable, thorough, and methodical of those we talked to. Subsequent research on Angie's List and other resources confirmed the company's long-standing reputation for quality products and service. On Bill's recommendation, we agreed to a new compressor, air handler, thermostats, and ductwork. Our first pleasant surprise was the painless way they handled financing, particularly the 60-month no-interest note. From the day we accepted their proposal, Bill and other company representatives kept in constant touch regarding work to be performed and install scheduling. On several occasions, I called in the evening to leave questions for Bill on his voicemail, only to find him at his desk and ready with the answers I needed. On the day the install began, Bill and his installer crew led by Enrique Ruiz and his son Enrique Jr. arrived onsite as scheduled with the equipment. Given a 4-day estimated install schedule, Bill's careful planning again paid off with mild weather that significantly reduced our discomfort during the time the system was offline. The attic space in our house was a nightmare of nooks and crannies with limited crawl space due to multiple remodeling projects that included a new roof built over the old roof. In spite of those challenges, they worked quietly and efficiently to remove the old system and ductwork and open up attic access paths, revealing numerous other serious problems with the old system as they went. By the end of Day 1, the old system had been removed and the new equipment was in place. Day 2 started early and continued with the same quick and quiet efficiency, to include a completely redesigned supply and return ductwork system inside and a new heat pump and pad outside. We were once again pleasantly surprised when they informed us the system was now able to provide a basic level of heating and cooling and very pleased at the way they kept things cleaned up as work progressed. Day 3 was more of the same as they tied in extra return ductwork to improve system efficiency, installed the new touch control master thermostat and remote zone sensors, and started connecting the communicating components together. As part of his daily project management, Shawn Oliver, the Install Manager, worked with Enrique's crew to run wiring down a stucco wall, and they assisted me in routing phone and computer network wiring through the same path to eliminate wall surface wiring, a project that had been on my honey-do list for years. Saul, their system programming expert, arrived late that afternoon and stayed until 11:15 PM to update the master climate control panel software for zoning and complete system configuration. Enrique and his son stayed until 8:30 PM to assist. They didn't leave until the system was fully operational. Day 4 was more of the same level of quality. Shawn, Enrique, and Enrique Jr. made some minor adjustments to the zoning system and within an hour had finished installation and cleanup. Since then, Bill and other Willard folks have stayed in touch to make sure everything works as promised. Being an engineer, computer geek, and very picky detail-oriented DIY kind of guy, I am more impressed each day as we enjoy quiet and accurate temperature and humidity control throughout the house. In reviewing the history stored on the comfort control panel, I've noticed that the system is able to maintain set temperatures with a major reduction in heat pump and air handler energy usage as compared to the old system. Plus I get a kick out of the fact that my attic, once a nightmare of rusting, leaky equipment, sloppy, leaky ductwork, and a rat's nest of wiring now looks more like the engine room on a nuclear submarine :). Also, the new electronic air cleaner uses filters that can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner, which eliminates a significant replaceable filter expense, and even provides a neat little and quot;gas gaugeand quot; indicator and alerts on the comfort control panel to let us know when cleaning is needed. BOTTOM LINE: If you want a firm that knows their business and the products they sell, stands ready to give you the best and quot;bang for your buckand quot; on a heating and A/C system, and meets or exceeds all promises and expectations for both equipment and the install experience, Bill, Shawn, Enrique, Enrique Jr., Saul, Cheryl, Margaret, and others at Willard have my highest recommendation.
Description of Work: Remove and replace a 12-year-old 2-stage heat pump, 2-speed air handler, and ductwork with a new Trane heat pump, variable speed air handler, electronic air filter, humidifier, zone control with remotely accessible touch screen comfort control panel, and completely redesigned supply and return ductwork.

We had used other companies before but found them to be expensive and unreliable. Willard is not cheap but they were better than the others. I got several quotes for out new AC and their quote was cheaper by more than $1k for the exact same equipment from one company and $700 cheaper than the quote from another company even though Willard was quoting a nicer unit (both of the other companies were listed on Angies list). Once we decided to go with them, they came in and got the work done very quickly and hauled off all the old equipment. The next day (a Sunday) we noticed some air leaking from the side of the blower and we called Randy (the owner) and he came out and fixed the problem himself (I dont think it was really even an issue but he fixed it to make us happy). We had one issue regarding a mixup in payment options (we financed through Willard but their accounting dept didnt seem to know this) and they harassed us for a few weeks until we got things straightened out. But otherwise, they have always been professional, punctual and, I believe, honest (technicians will frequently list things that they and quot;suggestand quot; you do but they always tell you how urgent it really is.). They almost always come on the same day we call (always within 24 hours) and they get the work done quickly. The technicians are always friendly and will go out of their way to explain things to you, especially pricing. I am never happy to spend money on things like this but I have never been unhappy with their service.
Description of Work: We have used Willard on multiple occasions over the last 6 years. Anytime anything goes wrong with our heater or AC, we call them. They installed a new AC unit for our upstairs along with a new blower about 2 years ago.

Initially everything about the estimate was great. They are very informative. They go out of their way and explain all about their service. They always check with us before they do anything or before they go ahead and buy us a service. I really like that about them. They are fine. I will use their services again in the future.

I've trusted Randy and his family since they started their business. He replaced the furnace, coil, and outside unit at our old house and we will continue to use him at our new house. They've grown carefully and continue to do a great job for a reasonable price. Their customer service both on the phone and in person is second to none. I highly recommend Willard Heating and Air.
Description of Work: Randy and his son, Michael, came over to a house we were about to buy to check out the HVAC system and ductwork. He provided us a fair estimate on cleaning the AC units and repairing some attic duct work. On July 7th, two technicians arrived to complete the work. They were on time and very professional. Work was completed on the same day and included replacing a capacitor on one unit.

I called for an estimate to replace one of my older heat pump. Bill Oates inspected the system and assessed what would be needed. A special adjustment was need for the type of equipment I needed. When he located the necessary part, he contacted me and arranged for the installation. The intstaller arrived on time and did an excellent job. When the outisde concrete pad wouldn't fit in the area the original unit had occupied, he advised me of the problem and offered a solution. The installation took about 6 hours and when they left, everything was as it was when they arrived. I would recommend their services.

Finally have found a AC/Heating company I can trust. Actually had three heat pumps replaced and this was the last one. They did a far better job than the last company (and they were very good). I highly recommend them and feel you wont go wrong with this choice in AC/Heating. This is definately the company you want to use.
