Description of Work: Sublime Water Gardens built our cute 650-gallon fish pond about 7 years ago and they've serviced it ever since then. Before they did our spring cleanout on 3/25/14, our pond had been working perfectly. However, after that visit, it began leaking 25 gallons of water a day. The water level gauge on the intake door showed this as well as the 50-gal. I was adding every other day to fill it back up to the full level on the gauge. (I have always used de-chlorinator and water conditioner in a bucket for each 10 gal. I added, so I knew exactly how much was leaking.) Long story short, it always took multiple phone calls to get any response and on 5/12/14, a leak detection crew arrived unannounced, couldn't find the leak, and left. I apparently had been handed a so-sad/too-bad/end of story as I emailed the owner and about 2 weeks later rec'd his reply with no offer to assist any further and with erroneous info (which I corrected because it sounded like he didn't know what his company was doing). All along, and in my email, I stressed my concerns that the leaking pond was sitting between our pool and our house and their foundations needed to be protected. I finally got fed up and hired another company who came on 6/6/14, found the leak in about 15 minutes (in a place where SWG said it wouldn't be), and repaired it. This is a sad (and I think shameful) commentary on the lack of follow-up and professional ethics of SWG. As a long-time customer, we did not expect to be blown-off for weeks and then abandoned because of a problem that their visit started. This over-10-week saga cost us over 2,275 gallons of water with de-chlorinator and water conditioner, beneficial pond bacteria, and more stress and patience than I ever plan on using again for a company's mistake. And it made my sick koi sicker. We gave them many chances to make it right and they didn't. I'm still keeping an eye on the foundations of my house and pool.

 + -1 moreI called and they were very nice. I sent 6 pictures in so they could see what I wanted done. Got a call back and we discussed on the phone for about 20 minutes. They understood everything I needed done. We set up an appointment and they arrved 10 minutes early, did all the work and were very friendly. The issue came with the bill itself. The original estimate was 245 dollars and I was told they fish would not need to be removed. They were there for 2.5 hours and the fish were removed so I expected it to be higher. I didn't expect the bill to be 530. They do great work but it was disappointing to find such a massive increase once the work was done between the estimate and actual work.
Description of Work: Replacing 3 waterfall rocks with rocks on hand, mounting 2 lights already in the pond and mortaring a strip between two pieces of stone.

Got a same day response. Quotes were prompt and reasonable. Agreement was reached and dates scheduled The team was a bit later than originally thought, but it was very cold that morning (so I don't blame them for not wanting to stand in the water cleaning). They got there just after lunch and were complete by 5:00 The cleaning was GREAT!

 + 0 moreDan was a delight to work with - he and his team worked daily for nearly 7 days (due in large part to the interruption of the construction going on at the house). The work area was always cleaned each evening and met every expectation. The process was quite simple - Dan visits your property and listens to what you want. Since I had done a lot of research, I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and the equipment needed, I just did not want to take on a project of such importance. This is not a DIY project as the plumbing and skill needed to build a safe, healthy environment for koi should only be done by pros. My current pond was a DIY project and while it works and is beautiful, I knew that the level of knowledge to install a proper koi pond is well beyond anything I could do myself. Dan provided an estimate for a gorgeous koi pond with all the bells and whistles, but after I explained that I wanted a functional, healthy pond for koi we were able to work out an acceptable solution. His services are well worth the money - he knows what he is doing and he provides excellent options and advice throughout the whole process. I was not as knowledgeable about natural bog filters but after he explained how mother nature provides much better filtration than just about any filter on the market with minimal maintenance, I went straight to google to confirm. And, I found that it is wise to not doubt Dan. He enjoys what he does and it shows in his work. The whole process from start to finish was so nice - so much different than many of the challenges that we have faced while building our new home. You cannot go wrong with Dan. Sublime Water Gardens is a proven company with an excellent team - I know that I made the right decision and cannot wait to enjoy the pond for years to come.
Description of Work: Dan and his highly skilled team installed a formal koi pond at our nearly completed new home. The pond is nearly 1200 gallons and is constructed partially above ground with stained wood and matches the architecture of our modern home. The rectangular (8L x 5W x 4D), rubber lined pond includes an aerated bottom drain, a skimmer, and natural bog filter with spillway. The pond is stained to match our existing stain on our home and is capped with Trex plastic wood in a contrasting color. The skimmer mimics the bog design and is offset just so to add interest. The deck (to be built) will be about 18" below the edge of the pond and will serve as a seating area. The top cover for the skimmer will serve as a built in deck table. The pond equipment is hidden from sight by the bog and is installed with such precision that it is nearly impossible to hear when standing anywhere but beside it. The mechanical equipment used was an Aqua UV clarifier, Savio Skimmer, Savio auto water filler, 4" Bottom Drain, Air Pump, Sequence 4200 energy efficient pump, and leaf trap. Unfortunately, I cannot explain all of the plumbing equipment, but I do know that there are valves and checks at all points throughout the full install (meaning if I need to bypass the UV filter to perform maintenance or medicate, I can without any issue). Again, the installation is absolutely stunning. I highly recommend Dan and his team for their excellent attention to detail and their attention to my requests.

They keep them in tubs with pond water that which had mechanism to keep the water moving so it wasn't stagnate, because it was a two day process. They cleaned up after themselves. They were in my garden so them made sure everything was as it was when they first came. With any problem they came to me. They did a very good job. They know their business. l got a discount because I am an Angie's List member.
Description of Work: I had an existing pond. They came in and cleaned it out and put in a new filter and pump. It was a complete overhaul.

I would recommend them to anyone. Dan Martinez is the best! He knew so more about Koi and poinds. A true expert in his field. All of my Koi love their new home. All of them are still alive and growing! The quality was top notch and the crew were professional and punctual, knew exactly what they were doing.

 + -1 moreWe have a large koi pond with a waterfall. It has been losing water for a few months. We had another company come out to clean it and they thought they found the source of the leak in the process, but they didn't. Sublime Water Gardens found the problem quickly. There were many roots growing into one part of the pond, pushing the liner away and causing water to leak out. Cleaning out the roots took about 3 hours. The leak detection cost per hour was pretty steep, but it was in line with what other companies charge for the same service, so I suppose that's just the norm for the industry. The other company who cleaned our pond didn't reshape the rocks around the edge that had fallen down, which was kind of a disappointment. The man from Sublime Water Gardens told us that they do reshape the edge by placing the rocks back where they belong as part of a pond clean out. Next Spring, when it's time to clean the pond, I'll definitely call them to do it, rather than the other company who cleaned it last time. They were pretty punctual. The receptionist told us they would be there around 8:00, and they were there around 8:40, which isn't too bad for contractors. They were very professional.
