Description of Work: The picking out, ordering and quality of the carpet is great. The lower scores they received are for the company they use to install the carpet. We were not impressed with the results of the carpet laying. I know that they say they are not responsible for baseboards and trim when installing the carpet, but I think more care could be given. We had a window seat that was built and installed, and a piece was busted during install. You can see in our theater room where the padding ended short of the baseboard of the wall. I also do not like that you have to have the carpets cleaned by a certain time regardless if they need it in order to keep the warranty. I wish a walk thru would allow you to keep the warranty. Our carpets are spotless, and I do not want someone coming in cleaning them when not warranted and possible damage anything in the house in the process.

Description of Work: We hired My Flooring America to replace carpet in three bedrooms and a hallway. They moved all of the furniture in each room, took up the old carpet, installed new carpet and pad and replace the furniture all in one day. They also re-streched existing carpet in two other rooms. The work was done on June 24 of this year at a cost of $4,800. They did an excellent job. Everything went perfectly and we would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Description of Work: The guys that came out were very professional and they knew what they were doing. They installed tile and they made sure the tile around the fireplace had the grain going in the correct direction. They cleaned up their mess and I was very pleased with their service and the entire experience.

Description of Work: In April of 2012 we had new carpet installed in our living room. It was a middle grade carpet with a 10 year warranty, "perfectly acceptable" according to the sales person, for an active family with two kids and two dogs. If I remember right, we also upgraded to the better padding underneath. Within the first year, the carpet was worn and matted and you could feel the tack strip where the carpet met the tile in our kitchen. Towards the end of the second year, the carpet looked like it was many years old and completely worn down. We visited the local store where we had bought the carpet. The sales associate was helpful, but very pushy, trying to convince us to buy new flooring instead. She set up a appt for someone to come look at the carpet, with a service call to re-stretch the padding and carpet. After 3 weeks and several phone calls to the store, the rep finally came out. He looked at the carpet and said that a manager would have to look at it and say what to do next. He couldn't do anything. He said he would note the file and tell the mgr. Several weeks went by and we never heard anything. We went back into the store and spoke to the same associate. She said that the rep just closed the ticket and never told mgmt. She apologized for the mix up and emailed the mgr about our situation. A week later we went back in AGAIN to find out why we had never heard from the store mgr. We were told that he is a very busy man and would get to us when he could, but she emailed him again. I said that was unacceptable and demanded to speak to him. Of course, he doesn't work on Saturdays, so I would have to come back or call during the week. I started calling every few days to speak to him. I was never able to. I finally threatened to file a complaint with the BBB and the sales associate begged me not to. She called me back one afternoon and told me that the mgr would be coming to my house on the next Saturday morning to look at the carpet. He was late arriving and he was very unprofessional. The whole visit lasted less than 5 minutes. He never introduced himself and he seemed in a hurry to get out. We answered the door and he said "I'm here to look at the carpet". We showed him in and took him to the bad area. He looked at us, and no kidding, he said "It just needs cleaning". I explained that we vacuum regularly and he said that wasn't enough. He said we needed to have it cleaned professionally and recommended several companies that he said won't void the manufacturer warranty, and then wait 6 months. If it still looked worn and you could still feel the tack strip, then call him and he would give us the info to the carpet manufacturer so that we can call and take care of it. We argued that carpet this new shouldn't look like this and asked if it was an installation issue. He stood behind his installers and pointed out that it was just a middle grade carpet. | |While our original transaction in 2012 was satisfactory as far as the sales and installation teams, I cannot recommend this company to anyone based on our interaction with the manager and the poor customer service. We will pay more next time, to use a better installer and better carpet.
