Description of Work: Leak repair in the laundry room. Laundry room ceiling painted. Exterior of home painted, which required the removal of window rod iron. Window rod iron and rod iron doors painted along with the exterior outside trim. The work was completed in the time frame mentioned. I was very impressed with Mr. Clouse and his sub-contractors. They arrived on time, did an extremely thorough job on the roof repair above the laundry room and a beautiful paint job. His services are very much in demand, so please be patient if you have to wait a month or two before he is able to do the job. The wait will be worth it. Once again Nu-Tec not only provided the work originally quoted, but I added a few other items that I wanted done and with a minimal increase in the over all quote the work was provided above and beyond my satisfaction.

+ 0 moreThe experience was fantastic. Ed answered my phone calls when I called. They arrived on time for the estimate and every day during the job. On the first day the crew showed up on time and got to work immediately. They finished removing the tub, replaced wood, installed the new plumbing and new wallboard by the first afternoon. In the next few days, they laid cement and installed the tile. They were done with the shower by Thursday at Noon. While the shower work was being done, someone was installing the new cook top and ceiling fans. All work was done to my satisfaction. On a more personal note, I have to say that everyone that worked at my home was very friendly, helpful and courteous. These guys were fantastic! You can trust them, They went above and beyond what I expected. Excellent work and service.
Description of Work: The company did a tub to shower conversion in the master bathroom, installed a new cooktop in the kitchen, and ceiling fans in 3 rooms.

+ 4 moreAs usual, Ed and Keith did a great job. This is the second major project that we've done with NuTech. We certainly would do a third. The quality of work is outstanding. The customer service and professionalism of NuTech is excellent. I enjoy working with this company because they treat your property like its their own. They also have the unique ability to translate between contractor-speak and the lay person, which allows the homeowner to understand the details of the work being done. They are also good at listening. Unlike other contractors, I don't feel like I need to be watching their work on a daily basis. If there is a key decision point, they are good about communicating with the homeowner in a timely manner and making sure your priorities are addressed. The only negative is that they have a lots of work and, many times, you have to wait many weeks before your project gets their direct attention.
Description of Work: Built a carport/garage in historic neighborhood. Ed and Keith completed bureacratic process with historic preservation commission to get construction approved within historic neighborhood requirements.

Despite some interesting previous construction (original tile laid directly into wet slab, walls, door and window openings not really square/plumb and some truly mysterious plumbing and wiring) they did a wonderful job and handled every unexpected discovery seamlessly. Their standard of craftsmanship is very high.

The work they provided was very detailed and complete. No minor detail was too small. Ed was very helpful not only when exercising patience, but also by provided us with recommendations with much enthusiasm. We are very please with Nu-Tec and have every intention of using them again in the near future. We can not imagine using any one else.

+ -1 moreThe work went on daily without any stoppage. The owners of the company Ed and Keith were there daily, supervising the work and doing work themselves. Any problems or new decisions were always discussed with us before any changes were implemented. All the men were polite and professional. Everything that was promised was delivered and there were no surprises or extra charges.. NU-Tec is a 1st class outfit that delivers the real deal with professionalism and talent---and at the right price. I know NU-Tec. will continue to be successful, as more and more people are exposed to them.
Description of Work: This is a 2nd time I have used Nu-Tec. I did not even bother to get a number of bids because they have always been fairly priced for work produced. The standard of their work on this project was first class. It was a tough job because it involved taking out an old exterior patio and re-working an adjacent inside patio---in a home that that was 45 years old. Removing existing tile on the outside tile turned into jackhammering the entire pad and pouring a new one(no extra charge). Four awning windows were placed in a brick wall surrounding the inside patio, that had to be cut open to place these windows. New entrance doors were placed at the inside patio entrance. This turned out to be a bear because the previous door was put in at an angle. The frame had to be re-done and balanced before the new double doors could be placed. Next, the inside patio floors were found to be two layers thick. Both layers had to be taken out by hand tools. The inside pad floor had to be levelled with new concrete. Then the inside patio ceiling had to be raised and levelled before new a new ceiling could be applied(no extra charge). Then a new false side wall was built to hide electrical and irrigation. Then new double inside doors were placed, tile was laid, painting etc. The boys then put in two new inside the house doors and all the hardware. This was a load of work.

We needed our 'little project' done sooner .... he was professional, on time and extremely helpfull. After telling him that we were not going to use his services - he said "Call me anytime with any questions you may have about your project - for a second opinion, or if you get stuck on anything' - highly recommend - he is busy for a reson - he's honest and helpful

Appreciated his honesty, attention to detail and willingness to provide ideas throughout the remodeling process. Employees were on time, conscientious, worked diligently and cleaned up daily. Felt very comfortable going to work, leaving the workers there all day. Plan another remodeling project early next year and will definitely hire them again. Highly recommend Nu-Tec for any remodeling job (large or small).
Description of Work: Kitchen Remodeling: Demolition and removal of all cabinets, appliances and countertops. Removed a section of the kitchen wall to enlarge a pass-through opening to the den; new dry wall and paint; new cabinets, breakfast bar and countertops. Installed appliances, lights, kitchen faucet, garbage disposal and ceramic tile back splash.

The second time I called( I thought that perhaps I had dialed the wrong number because of his great ratings), the owner answered. We made an appointment for him to come either Tues. or Wed. for an estimate. He never came. He never called to reschedule. This shows a lack of professionalism and common courtesy. I waited for him all day.

+ 0 moreEd was very professional in providing an estimate. He walked us through the process of proposed work and was very pleasant to deal with. Since the door is in our living room we were concerned with how much of a disruption the process would be. Ed's team performed the work on time, with great skill and great care was taken to keep the job site clean. They removed the old door and the wrought iron without causing any damage to the exterior brick work or interior dry wall which was of concern to me. The installation of the new door was flawless. No gaps, everything lined up perfectly. After all was installed they painted the interior and exterior and did an excellent job with this as well. We plan on using Nu-Tec again as we discussed landscaping ideas while they were here.
Description of Work: Nu - Tec removed our old sliding glass door and installed french doors to our patio. This required the removal of wrought iron on the exterior. The doorway and doors were oversized requiring precise measurements for the new door. Removing the door required extra care due to its great size and weight.

Wonderful to work with and always prompt! They arrived at *exactly* 8am on 9/8/12 (the scheduled time and day) and their work was flawless - we could not be happier with the results. They take pride in their work and it shows. They took great care in their preparations prior to getting started and thoroughly cleaned up when they were done. The huge map of the world that we needed to have mounted on the wall in our office was in three separate panels and it took a high degree of skill and attention to detail to mount it appropriately - it is perfect! Additionally, the wall was textured so it first needed to be specially prepared to make it smooth before the map could be mounted. The custom frame they made is also perfect - they took the time to get the shape and stain exactly correct. We will absolutely be using NU-TEC in the future for our home repair/remodeling/painting/etc. needs. We are new in town. We just moved to El Paso from the east coast and we found NU-TEC here on Angie's List - we are so thankful we did! I describe NU-TEC as prompt, professional, and detail-oriented!

+ -1 moreEstimate was done on April 22. I was told at the time of the estimate that it would be 8 - 10 weeks before they could start because they were so busy. In early May, I decided to go with them for the project because of their reputation and price. Work started in mid-August. The workers showed up every day for three weeks on time and ready to work. I was out of town during the 2nd week, and when I returned, the inside had been completed and they had a good start on the outside. The estimate of time and cost was right on the money. As the work progressed I decided I needed other things done in addition to what was on the original estimate. This work was added and the cost was very reasonable and the job was still completed on time. They also performed some work, such as removing and replacing entryway floor tile, at no additional charge. Always cleaned up when they were finished and were always responsive to any questions I had. Excellent company with professional workers.
Description of Work: Removed flooring and carpet in kitchen, dining room, and living room and replaced with tile. Painted inside and outside of house, and made repairs as necessary. Replaced kitchen counter tops. Removed and replaced all bathroom sink faucets and drains. Refinished front door. Repaired cement work on outside of house. Installed exhaust hood over range and hung new dining room light fixture.

I understand quality of work comes at a price, but I was surprised by the estimated amount. They were up front with me with an estimated time frame; however it did not fit in with our plans. They provided a drafter/designer who was very professional and who we ended up utilizing to draw our plans. We were excited to read all the positive remarks at this website, but expected and hoped for a better outcome.

+ 9 moreIt all went great. I picked them from Angies List because they had the best review. They were very professional, and at the same time they would listen to my opinions. They always came up with really good ideas and would incorporate them into the project. The finished product didn't look like an add on, it looked like the room was original to the house.It just matched perfectly, the roof angles were very hard to match,but they did it. I was very, very pleased. I highly recommend them for any general contracting job.
Description of Work: Nu-Tec R &C,Inc. added a den to my home. They performed the following: Concrete work, Structure (wood frame), added outside door, added window and closed off old window, all necessary drywall work, all the electrical outside & inside, painted outside and inside, laid brick, installed wood floor, and matched and completed den roof to match existing roof.

+ 0 moreThe company actually contracted out to someone they trusted because the owner knew he wouldn't be able to get the work done in a timely manner. He gave me a guy who does work for him but knew this is what he can do very well. I contacted who he reccommended and he was very professional. He came and gave me the estimate and we set up a time for him to come and start the work. He and his partners were very easy to work with and very trustworthy. They told me exactly what they were going to do and they did it. They also did everything they could to keep my house clean and free of the grout and tile that they were cutting. After everyday they would clean up and give me a time when they would be back. It was a refreshing change to be able to count on someone to actually do a job correctly and without a hassle. He recommended Blanco Tile. And I would too. He does some great work. Very pleased.
Description of Work: The tore out my old tile that was replacing my old bathtub and made a walk-in shower. The original work wasn't done right so they replaced the old tile with new tile and fixed the problem that I was having with it leaking.

They are meticulous and have remarkable attention to detail and will go the extra mile to keep a job on track. They show up on time every morning at 8AM and are ready to work.They clean up every night. Keith came back after quitting time to help the HVAC contractor with his work, then, miraculously, they got the contractor to show up at 7AM the next morning to do what hadn't been finished the night before - this is a first for me in El Paso. Kudos.
Description of Work: Renovate staircase and upstairs hallway/balcony. Subcontracted for oak flooring, HVAC & utility duct work, wrought iron.
