+ 3 moreI originally just needed to have some areas of soffit and fascia board replaced. I contracted with DCT for that service which turned out great. In the process of providing that service, they recommended I have my roof examined by an insurance adjuster for hail damage. Mike from DCT met the adjusters at my home and handled the entire process. New roof, gutters, window screens and patio cover were covered by insurance, installed by DCT and I couldn't be happier with the quality of the work and how easy it was to work with Mike and the team at DCT.

+ -1 moreMy experience with this vendor went very well for the roofing job. I found Kris to be responsive and very cooperative in helping us to coordinate insurance claim payment and services rendered. However, I regret hiring the same vendor to replace 2 complete fences around 2 other properties. The service there, quality and responsiveness was quite unacceptable. And, even after several attempts to have it corrected, we had to pay another vendor to remedy problems due to poor workmanship. The second experience only makes me wonder what was the quality of work on the first job, the roof. Because the roof is a job that requires more expertise and is harder to inspect, I find it difficult to judge the end result. And based on the experience with the fences I am less confident that the roof was quality work. Overall, I felt Kris had good intentions but poor follow through and a worker not qualified for the fence job. I trusted him when he said he could perform quality fence work but that was, probably, my mistake. I don't have the confidence to hire him again.
Description of Work: Roof emergency repair and, subsequently, complete roof replacement. Also, replaced fences for two other properties.

+ 1 moreI called DCT Roofing Solutions to get them to quote me a price to replace the roof on the building in the backyard that the previous owners insurance company didn't pay for when they did the roof on my home a few weeks prior. Kris came out and looked it over and gave me a price to remove the old shingles and replace them with ones to match the new roof on the house. He told me they would replace the trim on my chimney that was rotting included in that price as well. The price was very reasonable without the trim work anyway. The crew showed right on time and were ready to go to work. They were very nice and respectful of me and my property. They did a great job on the trim and on the roof. They both look wonderful now. The men cleaned up all of the debris and even ran a magnet all around my shop/building and picked up the stray nails! They were very careful not to get any caulk or paint on my patio when doing the chimney trim too. I can't say enough wonderful things about this company. From the owner, Kris, to all of the guys on the crew. They were all the most pleasant folks I have ever worked with on any of the multitude of home repair/reconditioning projects that I have had done over the years. Keep up the great work DCT Roofing Solutions!!! You have a customer for life with me!
Description of Work: I had DCT Roofing Solutions come back out and replace the roof on my backyard craft shop/storage building and replace some bad siding and all of the trim boards on my chimney. They were so wonderful to work with when they did my roof on the house and other storm related damages that the previous owner's insurance paid for, I definitely wanted them to do my backyard work shop/storage building roof too.

+ 5 moreAfter the last hail stormI I called DCT Roofing because we had a leak inside the house. Chris told me he would have somebody out within twenty four hours. That afternoon I recieved a call from him telling me that Paul could come out today. Soon after they showed up and did a full roof inspection and also documented all issues inside the house.Turns out I had a lot of hail damage. They were very thorough. Paul explained how they did business and it was very clear. When it was time to do the work; the crew showed up early and went right to work. They were detail driven, clean and very proffesional. The interior work turned out great! Cant tell anything had happened ! I reccomend this company highly. Professionalism and character was very evident. Overall it was a great experience, I only with they did plumbing, remodeling and flooring. I would hire them for every home need. And the agent has my own name

+ 3 moreFrom start to finish, I couldn't have asked for a more pleasant experience. I recently moved to the area and didn't know of any reputable companies to hire for the project. I learned from a couple of neighbors of Kris and DCT Roofing Solutions and that they had a very good reputation. I met with Kris, the owner of the company, and Mike, the Vice-President, and they explained the whole process very clearly and were extremely helpful working with my insurance company. I have no experience in this process and had no idea what to do. They discovered many things the insurance adjuster initially overlooked, or just was seeing if they could get away with not paying to repair. Kris and Mike made sure that all of the damages were accounted for, and that my insurance company fairly compensated me to have them repaired. They have the same software the insurance company has so they were able amend my claim for supplemental payment from the insurance, and knew exactly what they were going to pay additionally even before the insurance company approved the additional damage payment. They were able to do all of the work on the claim so I didn't have to hire several different contractors and manage the whole mess of that. They're crew of workmen were the best! They were very polite and considerate, and they keep my property very clean throughout the process. I can't say enough great things about this company. They truly do take great care of they're customers. I will tell everyone I know of how relieved I am to have found this company. I would definitely use them again. Thank you DCT Roofing Solutions for a job extremely well done!
Description of Work: I had hail and wind damage to my home I recently purchased. DCT Roofing Solutions performed repairs on all of the damage the insurance company found to my home. They included: replacing the roof entirely, replacing the rain gutters completely, replacing several sections of the fence, cleaning and staining the new and old fence around the property, replacing 7 screens on windows on two sides of the house, and I had them install insulation in the attic up to the level it should have been at to gain efficiency and comfort.

What I expected was a thorough inspection inside and out, looking at insulation in attic and elsewhere, venting, HVAC, weather stripping, windows and appliances. What I felt like I got was a not-particularly-thorough "guess-timate" more akin to a free estimate most contractors advertise. Because our attic access is in the master walk-in closet ceiling the opening is 2'x3'. The rep who came explained that he could not check the attic because he couldn't fit through the opening, but did a brief visual at the top of a ladder. Given that the attic is dark I don't feel he could have seen all he needed to do a thorough assessment. I didn't feel I got any value for my $75 and I did not hire them to do any work.

Description of Work: This company, DCT Roofing Solutions, does not want my business. The day after the big wind storm in McKinney, I noticed that a number of shingles had been blown off. I contacted DCT on12/21/12 and I was told that Paul would drop by and look at my roof. He did so, the following week, but just when I was away from home on an errand. He called to say that I probably did not need a re-roof, but that he would send his estimator/expert to evaluate the situation on 1/7/13. The evaluator did not show on that day nor on 1/8/13. I have heard neither a word from Paul nor DCT since then. Today is 1/22/13. I contacted DCT Roofing based on their glowing customer reports on Angie's List. However, my experience with them turned out to be far less than professional.... an experience in disappointment and annoyance. 1/28/13 Additional information, in response to the company response. In response to comments from DCT, my annoyance has been with the lack of communication on your part. Numerous messages! Not so. I have never received a quote from your office, neither by phone message nor in person, and I did not give Paul two phone numbers - I only have one number. Paul called me directly after his appraisal of the roof, probably on the afternoon of 12/21 (another roofing company came in the morning). Unfortunately, Paul arrived late in the afternoon while I was out on a quick errand, but he did call to report his findings. He said that a re-roof was probably not necessary, but that he would send his evaluator for a final analysis. The next time I heard from Paul was on 1/3/13, when he told me that his evaluator would arrive on Monday. 1/7/13. I was home all day, but no one showed up. Paul called and apologized late morning on 1/8/13. His evaluator would arrive that afternoon. Again. no one showed up, nor did I receive any phone calls since then. Of course, I do make allowance for rainy weather, and rain was in the forecast on the 8th. One more thing, when I initially called your office, there was never a mention of a charge to perform an evaluation. What is the cost to have a roof evaluated? Am I going to receive an invoice from you?

+ 2 moreI have nothing but good things to say about DCT Roofing. Mike Hayes is who we worked with and his professionalism and knowledge made the whole process very easy. The biggest difference with DCT and other companies is that Mike sat down with us and walked us through the entire process. He showed us a sample worksheet and insurance claim and step by step walked us through it from start to final payment. No one else did this. When they arrived at our house they knocked and let us know they were about to begin. It required 2 days to complete the roof and the crew was excellent. Kudos to Antonio! They did a very good job of cleaning up around the house. And on the second day the gutters and leaf guards were replaced by the time we got home. A few days after completion the fenced was re-stained quickly and efficiently. I hope we do not have to replace the shingles again but I would definitely have DCT Roofing do the work.
Description of Work: Due to hail damage our roof shingles required replacement. Other damage was found to the gutters, some screens and the wood fence. DCT replaced the roof, gutters and screen guards, screens and contracted to have the wood fence re-stained.

+ -1 moreThe experience went well. Chris came out and survyed the roof for damage, since I had a roof leak over my garage. Chris spotted hail damage and wind damage on the roof of the house and shed. Chris also noted hail damage to the gutters. Chris walked me through the process of how to file an claim and how to work with the insurance adjuster. I received a new roof for the house and shed, as well as new gutters for the house. My actual cost was $380.00 after my deductible was paid. The roof and guttering were very well installed. The shingles are nailed to the roof deck, instead of stapled to the roof deck. (Most home builders use roofers that use roofing staples to install shingles, since these roofers are always low bidders. Shingles that are staples to the roof deck pull out much more easily during a wind storm that shingles that are nailed to a roof deck). Chris could have used roofing staples to maximize his profits, but he did not. Chris made sure I had a quality roof that will stand up to a wind storm. the employees were very professional and very fast. The entire job was performed in one day. Chris Howard is a very pleasant person and very professional to work with. I would highly recommend Chris Howard of DCT Roofing Solutions to anyone having to have a roof installed on their home or business. Eric Hale

They were able to handle dealing with my insurance company including getting additional funds for damaged skylights not originally approved by the adjuster. The workers showed up on time on the day promised and took less time than estimated to finish the work. They cleaned up after their work leaving no nails or shingles behind. I would absolutely 100% recommend this company.

+ -1 moreI called DCT based on their Angies list rating and proximity to the house. They came out and evaluated the situation and proposed a good, cost-conscience repair option. They were able to complete the work the same day as the evaluation. We have not received much rain since the repair, but with the rain that we did get, not leak was seen. They also provide a 1 year warranty, which no other contractor would do, which definitely was a good selling point and provides peace of mind.
Description of Work: I have a difficult roofing situation where the chimney (rough rock) joins into a roofline joint. I was given several bids, however the roof is old and close to being replaced, so I needed to evaluate the situation.

After speaking with several roofers I found on Angie's List I selected DCT Roofers. Kris and Mike answered all of my questions, scheduled and completed my repairs very promptly and were delightful to work with. The entire job including my additional requests for insulation and roof venting was done in one day. My new roof looks amazing and the 19 bundles of insulation Kris added to my attic have made an unbelievable difference! Kris also took care of scheduling a contractor to repair the damage to my fence which by the way now looks like new!

Description of Work: I had my roof destroyed by high winds as well as windows broken and screens and storm doors ruined. Although DCT is primarily a roofing company, they replaced my roof and acted as my did all other work within my insurance companies adjuster allowance.

+ -1 moreWhen I called DCT, I spoke directly to the owner. This was very different from the other companies I called who only allowed me to talk to the scheduler. Kris and I spoke about my house and he walked me through the process of what to do about the insurance money, etc as this was my first home insurance claim (this is my first house). While we spoke of many things during the conversation, the one word that stuck out to me was 'quality'. Kris must have said this word at least 10 times so I knew it was important to him. Paul came out to my house to look around and check out the damage. He agreed with the insurance estimate about what needed to be replaced (basically the roof, whirly birds and gutters) and wrote up a proposal for me. We went through it line by line and the only thing I had to do was choose the shingles. I finally settled on Certainteed Landmark shingles as they were the heaviest shingles and got a good review from Consumer Reports. There was an issue getting the shingles though as Paul informed me several times that their sources couldn't find enough to cover my house. Well, I started calling around and found someone south of DFW who had the color and type of shingle I wanted. When I told Paul this, he was on it right away and worked to secure the materials. Scheduling the job was a bit difficult as I travel extensively for my job and there were some weather delays. But when we were faced with another reschedule and I told Paul they couldn't do it the day they wanted (Labor Day) as I was out of town, he agreed to schedule it for that Wednesday. Aside from the difficultly with finding the materials and scheduling the job, the rest of it went very smoothly! Paul texted me to let me know the guys would be at my house at 7-7:30am the next morning and sure enough they were! The foreman, Mario, was super polite and didn't need much from me except power for their pneumatic nail gun. The crew consisted of about 4 or 5 guys who worked until 4pm. The were efficient in pulling off the shingles, putting the new ones on, replacing any decking that needed it (thankfully only one small part needed replacing), replacing the old vent pipes with new ones and installing the whirly birds. When they left you couldn't even tell they were here except by the color of the roof. :) There was no debris left, no nails to be found (so far) and my shrubs (such as they are) were just as good as before they arrived. They did do a bit of a job on the gutters, but as I was having those replaced, I didn't mind too much. :) The only B I gave was on price. It's not that they don't offer good value for the job--they do, but I thought the price of the shingles was a bit more than it should have been ($1170 more). This might not be their issue as I'm not sure how much they mark up their materials (if at all) when they get them from their source. But the work they did on my house and the way Paul took care of everything made it much easier to spend that extra $1170. :)

I needed a full replacement after the a large hail storm six months ago, but held off on repairs until I could find someone that wanted to earn my business. I was impressed from the very first call when I talked directly to the owner. Within minutes of speaking with him, Doug (estimator) called me to set up an appointment! I explained to Doug that scheduling the job was going to be a challenge due to our 4 month old twins that needed to be relocated when the work was done. What really won our family over was the professionalism and expertise that Doug brought to the table. We awarded them the job and we couldn't be happier with the results and I am happy to report that CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT DEAD!!!! They also were able to fight for me with my insurance carrier to get some additional work covered! (gutters) The 6-8 man crew was uniformed, fast and very courteous Excellent service and quality workmanship Thanks DCT!!

+ 0 moreI called DCT Roofing Solutions about three weeks ago, they responded promptly (same day), provided contract for services the next day which I signed and returned same day and they began job about a week later and completed roofing job in one day and replaced gutters a couple of days later. Cleaned up after job was complete to the extent I could barely tell job was done other than a remnant of shingle and nail or two. Protected landscaping as I requested and no complaints received from my zero lot line neighbors. They worked through billing process with insurance company with no involvement from me. Overall, it was a very positive experience as I found DCT to be prompt (to say the least), professional and courteous in all interactions. Highly recommend.

This was the toughest because old homes are like reparing old cars..full of bad surprisesand we found rotted wood around the frame that required being replace and both inside and outside work had to be done. FERNANDO / MYRA are TRUE CONSCIENTIOUS PROFESSIONALS...CONSTANTLY SEEKING FEEDBACKand WELCOMING PARTICIPATION in judgement calls and personal taste, ie if we liked what he was doing, etc.He and I both drove in HIS TRUCK to Lowes to pick up exta lumber and sheetrock ..I took LOTS of picturesand what we thought would be straightforward started after lunch and went virtually NON STOP until 11:30 pm as a neighborlent me an industrial light to illuminate the area outside to work and facilitate clean up, resulting in anIMMACULATE job inside and out. 4>Lastly, when DCTS OWNER, Kris Howard shows up IN PERSON the NEXT DAY to perform the threshold repair that was our last item.....THAT was both impressive and VERY much appreciated.5> MY WIFE AND i WERE TRULY BLESSED IMPRESSED AND THANKFUL.THANK YOU ALL and ESPECIALLY.. DOUG AYERS, Sr Exec and our estimator, who stopped by, checked in regularly, did research to answer all our questions and and whose frankness, candor, thoroughness and professionalism and "knowledgebase" was GREAT IN anticipating problems and minimizing negative surprises made our OVERALL EXPERIENCE nothing short of OUTSTANDING !We look forward to using any and all of them again whenever we can afford additional projects !

+ -1 more. This is one of the most hassle free contractor that I have dealt with for a fairly big project. My insurance had agreed for a roof replaced and I had got bids from several contractors. Being rated highly on Angies list as well a high BBB rating were high on my list. Of all the contractors that I got a bids from, I was most comfortable with DCT roofing. For a reasonable prices, they agreed to upgrade my shingles to a class 4 shingles (I get a 25% insurance discount). In spite if the recent storms, my project was scheduled in 2 weeks. I saw a full crew of 10-15 perple working on my roof, and it was mostly done in a day. They had to do some minor cleanup the next day. Anytime I had a question, I was promptly responded to by Mr Doug and Mr. Kris. Enjoyed working with you. The roof stood good during the recent rains, and my hope is they will address any warranty issues, should they occur. Roof looks good now. I like the fact that I was able communicate directly with the owner and his accociate directly.

+ -1 moreVery pleasant experience. They were prompt and professional on getting out and going over all that they would be doing to the roof. They caught things that the insurance adjustor didn't and filed for more. This was totally headache free process being this wasn't my first rodeo with a new roof being this was my 4th roof from hail storms. I feel secure that my roof is snug as a bug. If I had a question and called them anytime they were very educational in explaining how they go about fixing things. I feel very confident with this company that I will for sure be using them again the next hail storm we get in Keller :)
Description of Work: Excellent service, very punctually and very professional. Doug came out to my house and went over all the insurance adjuster notes and we walked around and double checked things that hadn't been caught by the adjuster. He was very nice and made me feel that all will be taken care of with my insurance. Once my new roof was put on I couldn't even tell they were there since they did an excellent job on cleaning up. They were also super nice and made sure to check that my dog was safe in the backyard while they put the new roof on. Then Doug came back out to go over all on my roof and any concerns that I had. He reassured me that if I had any problems in the future that they stand by their roof installation. Yes, I have called him with questions on my shingles and he has always picked up the phone and was happy to let me know the answer to my concerns.

Kris was very thorough, detailed and propfessional about it and took his time explaining how the process works and what pitfalls to avoid and what to do and what to stay away from. Even though I told Kris that we have already picked up a roofer but were just calling to make sure that we made the right decision and were doing the right thing, he was still very profressional and still took his time explaining me the process in detail. The best thing that I liked about DCT Roofing and talking to Kris was that throughout our conversation he never pushed me or pressured me into hiring him and let me make my decision on my own. If we had not already given the job to someone else, we would have definitely hired Kris to do our project. For any of my future roofing needs I am definitely calling Kris back and will happily refer him to anyone.
