+ -1 moreIn July 2010 wind storms caused extensive damage to my roof. I contacted multiple roofers and my insurance company to report the damage to my roof and the water leaking into one of my bedrooms from the rain that came with the storms. My insurance company took three months to finally approve a complete new roof after multiple inspections and engineering evaluations. Kris Howard was there every time I needed him to be and helped answer the questions I couldn't. This was extremely helpful since I travel a lot, wasn't in town when the actual damage occurred and wasn't always able to be at home when the insurance company needed to do another inspection. The DCT roofing team was quick, professional and cleaned up their mess. All the while Kris was very patient while my insurance company took their time approving my claim.
Description of Work: Kris Howard and DCT Roofing Solutions temporarily repaired my roof while my insurance company took their time processing the wind damage claim. After everything was approved DCT put a beautiful new roof on my house. Now I have the best looking roof on the block.

+ -1 moreon 4/23/11 we had a terrible windstorm come thru north texas. The next morning, I found one of my roof-mounted wind turbines had completely blown off. I sealed up the hole in preparation for another incoming storm. Monday morning, I contacted DCT Roofing and was told that they could be out that afternoon to replace my missing turbine. One of their staff showed up and promptly replaced my missing turbine. They also inspected 3 other turbines that I had and found 2 that had been damaged. I asked to have those replaced as soon as possible and they had them replaced that evening. DCT Roofing was very professional about the whole matter, they removed all of the trash that was created by replacing these turbines, and work efficiently to get the work done. I would call them again for any mattters with my roof.

+ 0 moreI became acquainted with DCT Roofing Solutions through their Angie's List attic inspection special. After the inspection and while negotiating the work to be done and shingle quality and color, a wind storm blew a significant patch of shingles off our ten year-old roof. I sent owner Kris Howard an e-mail at 9:30 PM on Saturday night and received his immediate phone call expediting the roof replacement process! Kris had previously arranged for his shingle supplier (Malarkey) to mail us large shingle samples so we could be sure of the shingle colors. The sample arrived Tuesday and we confirmed our color and quality. Kris arranged for the shingles to be delivered Thursday morning and scheduled his crew to start as soon as the shingles arrived. The crew chief (Antonio) is a US citizen who has worked over ten years with Kris. He spoke excellent English and communicated clearly with us and kept us abreast of progress and what next to expect. Despite a persistent light rain and shingles not arriving until 9 AM, the crew worked efficiently and completed the job in one day. This is especially impressive because our house is a large, two-story home with steeply pitched roof. Workmen also cleaned all shingles and papers from the yard and drug magnets around the house to pick up all nails and brads. All workmen were polite and well-behaved. I later policed the yard and found only inch-sized shingle fragments and one sack that had blown up onto an ornamental structure. Kris came by the next morning to ensure that work was satisfactory (and to collect the remainder of our payment). He was very confident in his crew and encouraged us to make an accurate, timely Angie's list report. I recommend this firm and will also use them for radiant barrier installation.
Description of Work: DCT Roofing Solutions removed the existing shingles, flashing etc.; replaced all plumbing jacks and felt as needed; installed two turbine vents; and installed Class IV (50 year) composition shingles. (Radiant barrier installation will be reported separately.)

+ 0 moreI signed up for Angie’s Big Deal for a “Complete Attic Energy and Ventilation Inspection” from DCT Roofing Solutions for $75.00. Doug called me to see if I wanted to make an appointment, which I really appreciated. He called before he came out and was on time. Doug was knowledgeable and polite. He didn’t try to pressure me into buying anything. I must admit though that I was a little disappointed in the “Complete…Inspection” part. My perception was that someone would be up in the attic inspecting the insulation and looking for any leaks. But it turned out to be just a look-see. HOWEVER, that being said, I would do it again in a heartbeat because these are good people. I met Kris (the owner) when he and Doug came out on a Saturday to put insulation in and add some outside vents under the eves of my house. My house is 25 years old and I had a feeling the insulation wasn’t adequate especially when Doug had told me the rating. It’s gone from approximately R-5 rating to R-44 up to R-49! Kris did say that the ductwork was not in good shape but the insulation will help until I can get it replaced. Also, my chimney had lost a wood panel & Doug had said they would put the panel back on at no cost. When Kris got up on the roof, it turned out to be worse than they thought. He showed me pictures that he had taken on his phone. The wood had rotted & the wood panel was warped so they couldn’t nail it back on. He called one of his men to come out on Monday to replace all the wood around the chimney. I’ll send another update when that work is done. I really appreciate and admire Doug & Kris for keeping their appointment with me especially when they were being swamped with calls after the big storms that came through a couple of days ago. Like I said, they’re good people. Without a double, DCT Roofing Solutions would be the first people I’d call when I need work done again.

He and his associate ( I am sorry I forgot his name) They where here for quite a while mostly sitting at the table going over what DCT has to offer. When they finally did the Inspection, it only took about 20minutes. They then advised us that we need two turbines and more insullation. already have radiant barrier. the price they offered seemed reasonable. We are considering using them. Both gentlemen where very nice and knowledgeable.

+ 1 moreI had used one of Anglis List Big Deal's- Complete Attic Energy and Ventilation Inspection becasue I knew we did not have alot of insulation in the attic and needed someonw to check one of the vents into the bedroom. Kris came out promptly the next day after contacting him the day prior. He sat down with me to find out what my concerns were and to tell me what he does and what I should have in my house. He went up to the attic and looked around. He showed me how little insulation I had in the attic and how how I had no ventilation in the attic. On a Saturday! He had his guys come out and put in 2 of the wind turbines. On Mon. Kris was was there to make sure the job was done correctly. Someone had mentioned that while installing the wind turbines we had a few shingles missing and I was called to ask if I would like those replaced! He was also to find that an a/c vent was incorrectly attached and corrected that as well. I know if I ever have to have any roofing or insulation again Kris and DCT is who I am going to call. The job was done promptly, professionally and the price was right!! Thank you Kris!

Kris came out and gave me an estimate after I had a roof inspection done and worked with me and the inspector to determine the best way to go about repairs. He was fair and honest in his work quote and the suggestions he made based on his experience. I appreciated that he brought with him evidence of his certifications, insurance and licensing as well as customer referrals so that I could see those at our first meeting. Kris and his crew were able to come out and execute on the repairs when it met my schedule and they completed the work quickly and efficiently. When they noticed extra issues that we had not discussed (such as the rodent eaten vent pipes) he and his guys quickly got the replacement parts and had that work completed, along with everything else we had planned for. Overall this was one of the best experiences I've ever had working with any contractor.
Description of Work: Shingles replaced that had been damaged by trees. Replaced 5 roof exhaust pipes that had been damaged by squirrels. Installed two new turbine vents to improve ventilation. Fixed flashing and caps for two other exhaust pipes.

+ 4 moreKris first did my estimate, sat down with me and explained what needed to be done and the materials that would be used he also explained the warranties for the roof. He also found other things that needed to be done and brought them to my attention, (importance of vents, how far apart they should be, how many I should have), explained what proper insulation does for a house and the money it saves you. My fence was almost falling over and he replaced that. My gutters were in need of replacement so he did that too. My chimney cap also needed replacement. He knew his business very well, I don't feel like he was just feeding me bull. He did all this work in a very professional manner and in a very exceptional time period. After the work was done he walked around the house to make sure all was done to perfection. Thank you DCT Roofing Solutions!!
Description of Work: I am more than exceptionally pleased with the work performed by DCT Roofing Solutions. I did not think there were still companies around that actually cared about the customer and the well being of them. I had actually looked for a roofing company in the phone book and was very skeptical. While leaving a store that I shop at, I saw a man drive up in a truck advertising his Roofing business. I started talking to him and asked him if he would do an estimate for me. He agreed and it was done the next day. He was very informative about my roof and what needed to be done, he explained the exact things that i needed and the materials that would be used and also informed me of things that I did not notice. He actually went over everything more than once so I would fully understand what was going to be done, something I appreciated because I don't know that much about his business. He did my roof, my gutters, replaced my vents, my fence that had been hanging on by a thread literally, and also insulated my house. I also needed a replacement for my chimney cap. He told me that I could wait on some of the work that needed to be done or he could just do it all at one time. I elected to get it done all at once. I did not feel like he was tring to "get what he could" out of this or to "take advantage" of me since I did not know much about this. He was very curtious, caring, polite, punctual, and very professional. I feel that DCT Roofing Solutions owner Kris Howard went above and beyond what needed to be done and he made sure I understood everything and was happy with the work done. He was a perfectionist! I did not have to take off work, he did it at my convenience instead of his, even working what I consider "after hours" to get it done. I will definitely refer this company to anyone that needs any kind of roof work, roof replacement, gutters, vents, insulation, chimney caps, or fencing work done. He handled the entire job for me so that I did not have to hire several different contracting companies to do each item in need of repair. Kris, and all of his employees, were courteous, kind, respectful, and very professional. In the past 40 years, I have not dealt with anyone doing repairs, remodeling, and any other home related task, that even compared to how wonderful this company is! I had heard of Angie's List before, but never used them. DCT Roofing Solutions spoke very highly of it. After the amazing experience I had with them, I felt obligated to become a member and share my experience with others. Description of Work: Bathroom exhaust vent ducts needed to be re-routed from soffit vents to dedicated ventilation on the roof. Dryer ventilation needed to be changed from static ventilation to proper equipment through the roof.

They replaced the roof on my house and my shed, replaced all of the gutters on the house and installed blown-in insulation in the attic, as well as fix the water damage in the garage ceiling above the water heater. He helped my wife and I choose the right roofing material for my house. We set a date for the work, and the crews showed up on time and got to work. They did the roof, insulation and ceiling repair in a day, including cleanup of the yard. The gutter crew came the following day to finish up. The new roof and gutters look great and I have peace of mind knowing it's done and was done properly! They even fixed some areas in my roof where there were gaps allowing squirrels and rodents in. I can't say enough. Plus, I can't wait to see the reduction on my heating bill this winter due to the added insulation! Great job, great people. I have already recommended them to several of my neighbors.

They did exactly what was agreed upon and even fixed a broken security gate for me. I was called during the project by Kris a few times to let me know how the it was going, which I found very satisfying as I live in austin. It was a courtesy call that I did not expect, as most contractors leave it up to me to hunt them down. This was not the case with Kris. I was also impressed as to when I did have to call Kris to ask some questions he always answered his phone. I was very satisfied and will use their services again.
