Javier’s Landscaping & Lawn Care

I'm extremely happy with the landscaping work of the crew, as well as the expert knowledge of which plants would be both easy to maintain as well as attractive. The owner met with me to look things over and we discussed the options. He was easy to speak with, and obviously has a ton of experience and knowledge. In the end, we chose a set of shrubs and plants that are easy to take care of, look nice, and even slightly enlarged the beds in places. All are now set with proper boundaries so the bermuda grass no longer encroaches into them. It looks great and exceeded my expectations.

Javier does a thorough job and is very dependable. My minor complaint is that we had some trouble setting up a billing schedule, but we worked it out.

Spoke with Javier (on approx date listed above). He was supposed to call me and let me know when he would come out and let me know when he can come out to look at the property and, if hired, when he can accomplish the work. I never heard back from him.

They did a Fantastic job! I will be having them here every other week. Highly recommend Javier. Came out right away too!

Loved the service. No complaints.

There were 3 guys plus the boss, they put in about 14 hours of work each, digging out the weeds and putting in mulch, plus cleanup and mowing. The original estimate was for about 850, but it we added a few things as they went. It looks great, I'm very happy with the results. They knew which plants were worth keeping and needed very few questions answered. I didn't want the cheapest service for this, I wanted experts, so I don't mind the extra expense.

I was quoted a price range ($180-260) when Javier came out to do the estimate. The supervisor, Mauricio, charged me the maximum. There was no explanation as to why the maximum was charged. I was in a rush for the job to be done as I had roofers waiting to do their work.

I have no complaints at all. My yard looked fabulous when they were finished and I will definitely use them from now on.

My mower was in the shop so I used these guys to do some maintenance. Good work went fast and me having a fairly large yard was a fair price as well.

What a total waste of time. I contacted Javier to set up an appointment to scope out the work I wanted done and to receive a quote. I was told that it would likely be two weeks before any work could be performed, but that we could meet within that time frame. I didn't hear from him for 2 weeks; at that time I called him again but still could not get a hold of him. I left him a message and asked that he at least let me know if he did not have time to work with me so that I could go ahead and at least get started with another lawn service. I still never heard back. Now I'm 3 weeks closer to summer weather and I haven't even gotten started with the work I wanted done, because I have been waiting on this individual. I do not recommend this individual due to his lack of communication. We have since engaged with another lawn service who has been extremely helpful.

We've been generally satisfied with the twice monthly lawn service. We've asked to have the grass cut a bit shorter, and can't seem to get that accomplished, but as noted, we are generally satisfied with the work. When we've had questions, Javier has been responsive and professional.

Javier is very responsive. He also does an excellent job explaining his suggestions and the work to be performed. His estimates are very accurate and his team is very responsible and professional. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a lawn service and plan to keep using his company on a regular basis.

They are very fast and very good. They come every two weeks to mow. I would use them again. Javier was very nice and informative.

These guys are wonderful. Javier listens to what you want done and does exactly that. I hired them to do my yard regularly. Even hauled away some trees that got blown over in the recent winds without me having to point them out.

Due to decling health, it became necessary for me to hire my lawn maintenance done. I contacted Xavier and he responded immediately. An onsite inspection revealed my needs and his ability to provide for them. He quoted a reasonable price and I obtained his assistance. During winter months, he provide biweekly lawn maintenance. As spring arrives, he will provide weekly maintenance as required. All services mentioned above were accomplished in an outstanding maner. His work crew is very professional and a great representative of his company. The members are completely knowledgeable of lawn maintenance requirements and work at a rapid pace. I can think of no improvements that could be made.

We have had good luck with this provider in the past, but the worker assigned this time worked while it was raining and subsequently left a big mess with leaves and grass plastered all over the walls and fences because they were wet. As more prudent move would have been to reschedule when it wasn't pouring rain. He spent most of the time on the front porch smoking and talking on the cell phone during the heaviest downpours. Afterwards, we had to go back over the job and clean up the whole yard , fences walls, etc.the next day. I believe we were somewhat overcharged also as the last time we paid $80.00 for the same job and this time the worker said it was $110...

Javier showed up for our initial appointment on time and completed all the work requested. He did a great job on the lawn and flower beds and I had many compliments from neighbors who wanted to get the name of who I had hired. Very pleased overall with the quality of the work and the price. One of the highly-rated Angie's List lawn services I called would not even bid on a one-time lawn service so it was refreshing that Javier was willing to do the work and do a good job at it.

It turned out really well. I like him and he does really good work!

We live right outside of Wimberley and are apparently too far away for Javier's team. He had his cousin contact us and we set up an appointment for him to come and give us a quote. We were going to get several quotes but only ended up getting two because my husband was so impressed with him. His quote was higher than the other quote but we had more confidence in him. He and his team were a little late in getting here but that was fine. They jumped right in and did everything as my husband requested it be done. They cleaned up after themselves and were very efficient. We will use them again.

I had just completed repairing the siding on my home and had some construction debris and brush piles in my back yard I needed hauled off. Also, I wanted someone to start cutting my grass and help me with landscaping projects. I gave Javier a call, he came right over and provided an estimate for the work. He showed up when agreed, did an excellent job, and when I got the bill it was less than the estimate. I have used several lawn services and contractors in the past 20 years, but I have never had anyone come in under the estimate. I have now contracted with Javier to provide bi-monthly lawn service. He does an excellent job every time - including picking up the grass clippings and manicuring the yard. His prices are reasonable, he does excellent work and my yard looks great. More importantly though I now have someone I can trust to do the other landscaping jobs I need around the yard as those jobs come up. I am very satisfied and will gladly recommend his services.

I called Javier and he came out the same day, checked the yard, and gave me an estimate. He was very professional. I felt he was very honest because he did not let me purchase services my lawn didn't need and he knew a lot about grass & plants. His crew came out the next day. The yard looked great!

Overall, my experience with Javier's services were okay. For the most part, when asked to mow down any or all of the yards in whatever weedy or overgrown state they are in when they arrive, they always leave it looking great. One time I asked them to clean up the yards (fallen leaves, sticks, dead tree bark, etc) and I was maybe 80% satisfied with the job. Maybe I should have said something to them and give them a chance to rectify it, but I decided it was better to do what was left myself. The issue I have is simply scheduling and reliability. If I call Javier to set up an appointment and he doesn't answer (which is fine, he stays busy), I could get a call later that day or maybe a day or two later, but sometimes I would have to call more than once before I can get a reply. He says he'll get his boys to come over on a certain day within a certain timeframe, but more often than not, it seems they can't fit it in, and only sometimes will he call me to update me on when they can arrive. I often have to call him to figure out what's going on. The most recent time I used their services, I had them come and do my front, back, and side yard (a 1/4 acre of land that I had let go to weeds over the summer). They came and did my front and back yards as usual, but failed to do my side yard, and then I was invoiced for all of it. I notched it up to a breakdown in communication between Javier and the crew he sent out, so I called him up and he promised to rectify the situation - which he did, eventually. Still, when all was said and done, it was a lot of phone tag to get some simple requests fulfilled. Javier was always friendly and courteous when I talked to him on the phone, but I feel like there was a lack of professionalism in the way the business is run. They're probably great if all you need is your lawn cut on a regular schedule. Calling them up on occasion seems to be a dicier prospect. Javier's a nice guy, works hard,and charges reasonably, but I don't find him and his crew particularly reliable.

I called. He called. He came by and gave an estimate. We agreed. He came back and mowed. The end.

I had to let go of my last Landscaping because he was mowing my lawn to short. So I had a conversation with Javier. He gave me a quick lesson on different lawn mowers, and why my last guy keep saying he couldn't raise the blade any higher. Javier said he could cut my St Augustine at the right height for the summer heat. Anywhere from 4 to 5 in. He did a great job. The height was perfect. Even my neighbor commented on it and said you finally found someone who knows how to cut grass.

Excellent, great price, and great work. I had to wait a few days till he had time, but it was raining and growing season, and a lot of other places couldn't get me in also. You do need to keep calling to make sure that he schedules you, and you have a good understanding of what's going to happen. Don't just assume that everything will work to your schedule.
