It was much better than I had expected, they were to arrive between 10a-11a and they arrived at 10:25a. The team leader introduced herself and the team and asked me to walk them through the home and let them know if there was anything I did not want them to touch. I was given a card with the name of each person and the rooms they would be responsible for. The team leader even asked if I wanted all of the photos and things on my coffee table back in the same place they were in (I am not that picky, as long as they are on the same table I am happy). They finished in less time than I had planned on and the team leader walked me through each room and asked if there was anything I was dispeased with, they would redo anything I was unhappy with. I had nothing for them to redo. They cleaned the mini blinds, the lights, the vents, even scrubbed the grout lines in the kitchen and bathroom. From the baseboards to the ceiling they cleaned everything they said they would. My home is over 100 years old and has the original hardwood floors which they did a wonderful job on. I have now schedulded them to come twice a month and clean.

Although my house is now clean, this encounter ended with me feeling quite frustrated. When I called to schedule the appointment, it was explained that first time customers received a 'deep clean' - I assume to ready the house for the possibility of regularly scheduled cleaning services. I didn't really feel I needed a 'deep clean' for my particular circumstances, but went with it anyway. I was quoted a rate of $160/hr, which I thought was quite high, but I needed the house cleaned soon and I knew how difficult it would be to find someone on short notice. I was told there would be 3 or 4 people on the cleaning team and I made the assumption that this meant 4 people would be $160/hr and 3 people would be $120/hr. Note that this was NOT what was stated, just what seemed logical to me and so I took it for granted. My house is a little less than 2600sf -- living room, dining room, den, large kitchen, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. When the THREE ladies arrived they asked if I had particular areas I wanted them to focus on. I said yes, I had family coming to visit and the kitchen and the bathrooms were most important to me. The two guest bedrooms (actually a bedroom and a storage room) were my next concern. One of the bedrooms is a home office, so that was completely off limits, and I told them they could completely skip cleaning the living room and dining room if time ran short. I also told them that on shelves or surfaces where there was a lot of stuff, they did not have to move it all, could just dust over and/or around it all. One lady vacuumed and cleaned blinds, another lady tackled the master bathroom and the third did the dusting. I will admit that the large master bathroom was very dirty and the lady in there really scrubbed everything down. I know from personal experience how long it can take to clean in there. The only issue was the hard water soap scum that had accumulated along the bottom of the shower walls - she apparently couldn't get that clean, even after calling the supervisor in to look at it. That surprised me a bit, but I didn't want the hassle so I told her to skip it. The lady dusting was pretty thorough despite being obviously sick / not feeling well - I actually felt really sorry for her. I am not sure what the lady vacuuming, the supervisor, was doing the whole time, as she was certainly not vacuuming for four hours. At about three hours I was getting really antsy, as I was already at the maximum of what I had expected to pay and they hadn't even started on the kitchen yet - the very FIRST "priority" room mentioned to them. The supervisor asked if I wanted them to just skip the living room and dining room and start on the kitchen and I said yes. They then all tackled the kitchen (only the floor was bad). When they were done, I asked them to go over the floor a second time as it was not cleaned to my satisfaction. They brought in rags and hand wiped the floor. At the end of four hours, they had cleaned my master and guest bathroom, the master and two guest bedrooms, the den and the kitchen. They dusted about half of the living room, but living room and dining room were not vacuumed and the dining room was not dusted. When the bill was presented, it was for the full $160/hr. I was obviously surprised, as I expected - assumed - that the hourly rate with three cleaners would be $120/hr. I admit I STILL don't understand how you can charge one rate and tell the customer, "Well, we'll either be at 100% or 75%, but we're going to charge you the same rate." It makes no sense and, in my opinion, is a horrible business practice. They also said they arrived at 8:30am when in fact it was 8:45am. At the time I thought, "I don't care, what difference is 15 minutes?" Well, of course in retrospect, I realize that the difference is $40 and I should have made the correction at the time I paid the bill. After the ladies had left, I discovered that the kitchen cabinets and drawer fronts hadn't been wiped down, so that was something I had to do myself. I cook in there every day and, yes, I do drop and spill things all the time. I also had to clean around the edges of the stove and the sink, areas I was assured would be "cleaned with a toothbrush". Well, not in this case. And in one of the bedrooms there was still dust in the carved grooves of two dressers, so I had to run a damp cloth edge through over those areas. Everything else was cleaned thoroughly and well. That evening I also discovered that my shower door would not close. When I called the company I was told that the lady who cleaned the bathroom claimed the door was broken when she got there. That really aggravated me, but the company did have someone come out promptly the next day and fix it. Turned out that the door handle had been removed (I guess to clean under it?) and put back on incorrectly so that the handle was hitting and keeping the door from closing. I did appreciate that the company fixed it without complaint. Also, I have four cats who were terrified of all the people and activity. When I asked if the maids could clean and vacuum my master bedroom first so the cats could safely hide in there the rest of the time, they agreed without hesitation and were very nice about it. I genuinely appreciated that. The ladies were all very polite. Their uniforms and all the equipment were clean. In the end, I found myself mostly frustrated with the pricing policy AND with how long the whole cleaning process took. I will admit to a very dirty master bathroom, some very dusty shelves in the bed/storage room because it's where the cat litter boxes are kept, and a dirty kitchen floor. But the rest of the house was not bad and I don't understand how in the world it took four hours (or technically three hours and 45 minutes) to clean, especially when they skipped one of the bedrooms, the living room or dining room. I've had health issues for a few months, which is why I needed the cleaning help before company came to town, but I am usually my own cleaner and I do have some idea of how long it takes to clean my house. The company has you sign papers at the beginning of the cleaning process and at the end - basically "here's what we expect the hours/cost to be" and "you agree everything is OK". I signed without looking - my bad. And they take your credit card information when you set up the appointment, something else that, in hindsight, I shouldn't have agreed to. In the end I paid $640 (minus a $50 Angies List coupon and plus 8.25% tax). In my mind - three person crew and minus the 15 minute discrepancy - it should have been $440. I won't be hiring this particular company again - I apparently can't afford to! - and in the future I will certainly be more careful about any pricing assumptions I make.

They send a 4 person team that knocked it out in 2 -1/2 hours. They worked quickly and efficiently. They were thorough and friendly, and knew what they were doing. I would hire them again for regular service but their prices are higher than we can pay. Too bad.

Due to our jobs (and the number of canines resident in the house) - we just don't have time to tidy things up ourselves.||The house always looks great and smells fresh after they leave.||Punctuality is generally OK - but, the time for cleaning changes from day to day - which makes it more difficult if we are working outside the home that day. But, this is not insurmountable.

I scheduled The Maids about a week before I needed them based on calling several places. Location availability and time availability was a larger issue than I anticipated, and The Maids were willing to accommodate on what (I guess) was fairly short notice. They showed up 10 minutes earlier then their scheduled time (which is fine by me), and went directly to work. I liked that this company had a pre-determined list of the exact cleaning they did before they came, and were able to estimate that it would take their 3 person crew 3 hours to do my 2100 sq ft house. Of all the housecleaning services I spoke with (about 5), they were also the most expensive. Based on this I had high expectations. They worked for about an hour, and needed no direction at all. Then, suddenly, another woman pulls up, and comes in. She tells me she is a supervisor, and is doing a random quality inspection. She stayed about an hour, and gave direction to the ladies working, and even made them go back and re-do some work they had already done. They finished at the 3 hour mark as anticipated. Collected my payment, and left. The next day, I received a call from their office asking if I was satisfied with the service provided. I told her that the only thing I was disappointed in was that some of the blinds still were a little dirty. She offered to have somebody come back out and re-do that work for no charge. I appreciated that, but I had already done the additional work, so I declined. Overall, this was a very good experience. I would recommend them if you can afford them. They were very thorough and cleaned everything in detail. With the one exception, I was very impressed with everything they did. I appreciated the on-site quality measures and the follow up call the next day, which tells me this is a first class business inclined toward relationships, and not just out for a quick buck.

They come here once a month. They send out a team and 4 people come. When I hired them to begin with; they came out and did a deep cleaning first. That cost more because I did it several years ago. Then the ongoing is $200 for a month. When they come once a week it’s a little bit different. They are trustworthy and thorough. When I come home from work, it’s a beautifully cleaned house. They do the ceiling fans, floors, under the beds and stuff like that can start getting hard as I get older. They are coming next week.

Poor quality even after returned to "reclean" the house. Tile floors remained dirty, found hair behind doors in bathroom, kitchen counters were not cleaned and the list goes on and on. They also broke our glass cook top and refused to cover cost of replacing it. Since no one is living in the home, they were the only people entering the home. Cooktop was intact the night before they came and cracked the evening we came to inspect the house. Attempted to call office and was told after sharing what had happened that they wouldn't cover because their housekeeper said it was broken when she arrived. No where on our receipt they left was that documented and we never received a call. This was significant has glass was razor sharp and was very obvious when entering the kitchen. We have pictures if needed to prove cooktop was intact night before they entered the home. The Maids was not interested in even discussing filing on their insurance. Poor customer service in my book. They also charged above their estimate and said the Angie's List coupon brought the price back down into the estimate range. The house was not quality I would ever except from my regular housekeeper whom was out of town so I called The Maids. Never again and will be sure to share disappointing quality of work and poor handling of the broken cooktop with everyone who asks for a referral for housekeeping.

(deleted member name) I am sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the cleaning service provided by The Maids. After we came back and recleaned the areas you were not satisfied with we did not hear back from you and we tried contacting you but your voice mail box was full. In regards to your comment that we overcharged you that is correct, but you failed to mention that we did correct the charge and issued you a credit on your credit card within a few days after the clean. When our teams arrive at a home the first thing the Team Leader does is inspect the home for any pre-existing conditions like carpet stains, broken or bent blinds/shutters, scracthes, chips, damaged furniture and the current temp on the thermostat. Any blemishes are noted on the teams paperwork. When the team leader inspected your kitchen she saw a stack of papers on your stove top. She removed the papers and saw the crack. You also stated that no one had been in the house except our cleaning team. However, you told our Operations Manager over the telephone that just prior to us cleaning the home you had a painting contractor in the house. Here at The Maids we always take full responsibilty for any items that get damaged during a clean. In this case we did not damage your stove top and are in no way responsible for having to replace it. If in fact the reclean still did not meet your expectations and you do not wish to have us return to the home I am more than happy to give you a full refund for the cleaning service we provided in your home. You should see the refund appear on your credit card within the next 48 to 72 hours. Bob White Owner/General Manager.

I had them out a total of 4 times + the carpet guy. Total spent is over $700. I used the last date they were out as date of services performed. FIRST TIME THEY CLEANED MY HOUSE: PULLED CHAINS OFF CANDLELABRA-NOT BROKEN just had to put it back PULLED LANTERN FROM CEILING-annoying-not broken, but now I have to get a wall anchor to re-secure it in a different spot and patch the spot they pulled it out from with mud and then repaint. COME ON! NEXT TIME STRINGS ALL LOOSE IN LIVING ROOM BLINDS-and they never did pull back tight again so my blinds I purchased in 2009 are all disheveled looking. They were off the shelf, not wood but plastic 2? blinds from Home Depot. Well now they look even worse, but they do still function. THEY HAD SOMEBODY COME OUT AND FIX THIS ON JAN. 19 2013: · SOME PRETTY RIDICULOUS THINGS HAPPENED TODAY. · THEY BROKE MY BLINDS IN THE LIVING ROOM. A STRING IS NOW HANGING OFF. However one of the strings came loose and it is like 5?-I have to fold it over the top of the blinds so my dogs can?t I don?t know jump up and pull it or swallow it. · PERSON CLEANING THE BATHROOM PULLED DIVERTER (switches between rain head, handheld or body sprays) OFF WALL IN SHOWER. You have to be pulling pretty hard to do this! This has never happened in the 5 years since I redid that shower, or any of the other several times other crews have cleaned the same shower. It will go right back on and the thing is I guess made well enough that the finish was not ruined when it hit the floor and though it is a very heavy piece for its size did not crack any of the tiles in the shower either. BUT COME ON! · WOMAN WAS CLEANING THE FAKE TREE (I only have one, stop laughing) BEHIND BED AND STANDING ON MATTRESS WITH HER SHOES ON AND NO COVERS ON HER SHOES. THERE WERE NO SHEETS OR COVERS ON THE MATTRESS-SHE WAS STANDING ON MY BARE MEMORY FOAM MATTRESS. THIS MADE ME QUITE ANNOYED. AREN?T CLEANING CREW MEMBERS COMPREHENDING THE CONCEPT OF CLEAN? OF I DON?T WANT YOUR SHOES THAT TREK ALL OVER THE WORLD ON THE MATTRESS WHERE I SLEEP AND IN FACT THE BARE MATTRESS AND IN FACT AT THE TOP WHERE I PUT MY HEAD?!!!!!!! · IN FACT NOBODY WORE SHOE COVERS TODAY AND I AM PRETTY SURE THE PREVIOUS CREWS DID?. · Did not clean bottom half of blinds behind bed, previous crews have. · Did not wipe down dog bowl stand until I pointed out to Jessica and she did it herself. · Jessica was a really good leader-she asked me twice to make sure I looked everything over and she brought the vacuumer back in when she noticed a chair had not been vacuumed under-they had tilted big chairs on their side to vacuum under. As she was leaving Jessica just kept asking everybody did you do this did you do that, and if not called them back in as they were on their back to the car to leave, to do it! For example this one shelf above the TV for which you would need a ladder. Her crew isn?t all that impressive but she certainly is. · FEBRUARY 1, 2013 o THEY BROKE A SMALL DECORATIVE PLATE I BOUGHT FROM SOMEPLACE LIKE WORLD MARKET. It is an $8 item. I didn?t buy it cos it was cheap. I didn?t buy it cos it was expensive. I bought it cos I liked it and put my keys on it so I don?t scratch the wood of the thing where I keep my keys. They offered to have it restored or clean my large living room area rug for free if it couldn?t be nicely restored. I mean geez they are always breaking stuff, every single visit. It was sitting on the corner of a table, against the wall, and she said it got knocked over when she was vacuuming there, I guess by the hose or something. I have an 80# and a 100# dog who romp and wrestle and play and bump into all the furniture and that little key plate thing never slipped off before. I am wondering if I will ever have them back out. Having them clean the rug for free, with my next paid cleaning, would probably cost me some other item that although dismissively cheap, I like and can?t just go out and re-buy and replace. NOBODY HAS CALLED ME BACK ABOUT THIS. I guess they figure it is $8 and who cares if we lose a customer. They are polite, or too shy to be described as anything else. At least one person speaks perfect English. They work fast and what they do touch is actually clean. They are punctual. The company seems to care about feedback as they always give you a survey with the names of the crew who were there and confirming the rate you were charged. I like that accountability and transparency. The house smells noticeably fresh once they leave-this is really pleasant. It is NOT chemically or anything like that, and I do not even get those scents put in the car when I have it clean because though it doesn?t make me sick or anything, I really dislike a chemical, fake smell. The smell when they leave my house is really just a strong but by no means overpowering, pleasant fresh air about the place more so than even a smell or scent. HOWEVER THEY ARE EXTREMELY ROUGH WITH YOUR THINGS. For this reason I did not have them out for two months because I did not want them to break any of my Christmas things. After today?s crew I am realizing just how wise that was! Also there are 4 large candles on my bedroom dresser. They move all the stuff and dust around it but the tops of the candles are always still dusty. I always forget to ask them to do that but you would think, they would see it right there in front of their face while they are doing everything else, and just do that too. The first time I had them out I had them clean carpet in the stairwell. The guy was fast and nice and even called the office for them to charge me less because once he got here and saw how small it was he deemed it lower charge. I was pretty pleasantly surprised by this. He was also on one of the cleaning crews another time. They are fast. And they do clean pretty well but they do not clean thoroughly around faucet fixtures or soap dispensers. I always have to ask them each time to vacuum the hearth and often doesn?t look like they did and I go back and do it. They do not always wipe down the face of cabinetry in bathroom or kitchen. Often they do wipe the cabinet faces in the bathroom but then not in the kitchen. They clean the kitchen sink which is white but not cast iron. It is obviously cleaned, but I still have to go back myself and Soft Scrub it to get it shiny and perfectly white, as well as again go in the crevices of the drains to get those really clean too. When you call to schedule, somebody always answers the phone, you aren?t on hold forever because the person has to ask somebody something or anything like that: they answer the phone promptly and the person answering is always fully capable of taking care of you. They also call you the day before to remind you of appointments. I understand of course their benefit in doing so but it is helpful for me, too. They encourage you to schedule the same crew for your cleanings. After the woman was standing on my memory foam mattress with her bare shoes, I will certainly make sure I have one of the first two crews that came out in the future, and never again this crew, if I am able to afford to keep having this done in the first place! I called around before choosing a cleaning company and I do think based on the pricing I was told by various other places that The Maids are very competitive, but when you have a professional clean I just think it is for most, a luxury. I have a 2000 sq. ft. house and though there are 4 rooms they do not even touch the cost for them to come every 2 weeks is ~$320/month. For a 4 person crew to be through my house in 1.5 hours, is worth it, again, if you have the extra funds?! But that is true of all services and my point is I think they are competitive and because they work so fast it really is convenient and therefore worth it even if there are some cheaper places. I have two large dogs and CANNOT have the crew come when I am not there so I have to be there, on a weekday, when they come, but it is not a very long time and I can usually find some way to schedule it in. You have to request the time you want at the time you schedule it. Even if you call back to ask what time or to ask to specify a time they will tell you the schedule has not been set, even though you are calling to ask them to set it, for you. I understand they need the logistics to be efficient but whether I understand the reason or not does not make it any less frustrating. If you aren?t a curator of low to high price items that you would be vexed if they broke, have them out. Otherwise, it might not be worth it to have your house cleaned by them, or anybody, as I do not doubt this is a common issue with all cleaning services, but I am convinced, even though these are the only people I have used, that an incident on each visit, is pretty bad and most likely worse than others out there. I love having my house cleaned and two of the three crews are pretty friendly but it is a luxury for me to have this done and the frustration of them always breaking something-enough already. I can?t afford to pay for the clean house+the project of going behind them fixing or waiting on them to fix+the stress of being annoyed by it all. It seems laughable but, well, it was frustrating if not really ?stressful.? I will not be using them and decided it just easier to clean my own house rather than following up with them about my broken item.

The housecleaners arrived a few minutes late; no problem. A team of four came in with their shoes on (I asked them to remove them before they walked on our carpet and they did). They started going over my walls with a dust mop, only it had a hard surface with at cloth streched over it. My walls were painted one month ago and it bothered me because I was afraid they would knock off some of the new paint; I did discover a spot in one of the bathrooms. Now, I will tell you the good things they did. They thoroughly cleaned the kitchen, baths, vacuumed the carpet, cleaned the hard wood floors, dusted everywhere including inside cabinets with glass doors and shelves in about 2+ hours. I liked the cleaning products used, no leftover residue. We will use them again in 4 to 6 weeks.

It went great. I couldn't be more pleased. It always seems that cleaning takes longer than I expect it to but I just underestimate the time and costs.
Description of Work: I called to have our back house apartment (2400 sq ft) cleaned. They came the same day and had the work done lickety split. I was very impressed with the service and how quickly and quietly the work was completed. They cleaned a total of two full kitchens, three full baths and five bedrooms.

They did a good job. The house is a rental and was empty. The lease management had send a cleaning crew in, however, I kept reading visitors responses about how the house was not clean. I currently live out of town. I called The Maids of Dallas/Ft. Worth and made arrangements for a deep clean. They did their job and I did not receive any more comments about the house needing to be clean. Its now rented! Thanks Ladies!!

We have used them for several years now and like the service enough that, when we moved two years ago, we signed up for their services again. This specific visit was just as good: the crew (generally 3 or 4) arrived on-time asked for any special instructions for this visit completed their tasks quickly and efficiently asked us to review to make sure everything was AOK before they left We have recommended their services to several of our neighbors and friends.
Description of Work: They come in every two weeks and do a thorough housecleaning, including changing bed linen, vacuuming, dusting and full cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms.
