T-Rock went above and beyond to help me through each step of the process. Not only did they make time around my busy schedule as a single mom they also checked in to see how the project went after the job was complete.

Not only was I great full for their immediate response, but Doyle gave me a complete run down on what was going on with my roof & took care of everything. I now have a new roofer for life. Thanks Doyle.
Description of Work: I lost a few shingles over the weekend & wanted to try another roofing company than the one I usually use. I used Angie’s list & T Rock Roofing responded the next day & showed up “in the rain” to check my roof.

I called their office that morning and Doyle Story was able to come out the same day along with his roofing expert. They were prompt, diagnosed the problem, and fix it that day. He also promised to return if I had problems in the future with the same area. More rain was predicted for later in the week so I was glad to get it taken care of.

This contractor is slick. The front man shows up at your house and outlines all the detailed work you want to hear. After you hire them, the plan suddenly changes. Work will now be completed a new, shoddy standard skipping many of those all important details. These guys wrecked my yard, installed damaged vents, failed to pull the gutters as agreed upon, and left flashing unsecured. As a result windy days have pealed back flashing like a sardine can at two locations, new gutters (previously installed by skilled tradesman) on one side of the house have pulled from the roof damaging wood and stripping the metal edge trim beneath the shingles. I'm still digging up irrigation lines to repairs breaks from impact damage. They did send a man out to replace the damaged vents they installed, but he only hit the hangar on the sagging section of gutters with a hammer, then just shrugged when that didn't repair the section they had obviously dropped something heavy on. They refused to secure the flashing they installed and now that wind and rain has uncovered their shoddy workmanship, they refuse to return my calls. Luckily, the roof has not leaked though - so they get a "D" instead of an "F" for at least getting that right. I'd advise looking elsewhere. They do not send skilled workers to your home.

As always, my first move was to check Angie’s List to find a contractor. T Rock was listed as among the best of the best. I called and spoke with Doyle Story, construction manager, and discussed our needs. He said that he needed to appraise the situation in order to provide an accurate quote. To my surprise, he was able to make it out to evaluate the roof the very next day. Doyle was very knowledgeable and courteous as he thoroughly explained what needed to happen to get the job done right. Doyle reached out to our insurance company and handled the necessary paperwork with them. Within a week, his team was up on the roof and completed the job in 2 days. Their work was done with precision and their attention to detail and especially the clean-up was outstanding. Doyle was on the job each day making certain his crew got it right. Interestingly, a few weeks later, we had a series of rainstorms move through the area and I found a very small drip in the attic when changing my a/c filters. Issues like this can and do happen all the time but it’s how the company responds that separates the great from all the others. I immediately called Doyle and he had someone out there to re-flash around one of the stacks the next day! Amazing response time for a warranty repair. My highest recommendation goes out to T Rock Construction and especially Doyle Story who made this a thoroughly successful experience.

So far, it has not gone well. I contacted T-Rock on 01Mar18 regarding Angie's List deal I purchased, and to date, one week later, I have received no response via email or telephone. I followed instructions in the deal to contact via email and include "certificate number" which I did. I have waited one week for someone to contact me, but have heard nothing. So unfortunately, I have no choice but to rate T-Rock an "F" for Responsiveness (no response), Punctuality, and Professionalism (very UNprofessional to completely ignore a potential client). Very disappointed thus far and guess I will need to get a refund.

Dear Ms [Member Name Removed]. I do not have any information sent to me regarding any purchase you have made. Angie’s List doesn’t provide us with your contact information either as they say it’s private. Please call or text me at 469-931-9867 and we will be there same day. We are sorry for the delay an hope to see you soon. Please also let Angie’s List know how difficult it is when they do not give the contractor the customers information.

T-Rock won't return my calls or emails. I sent them a clear copy of the check they deposited at the Bank of America branch in Corinth, while I was in the hospital. I filed a BBB complaint (BBB CASE#: 91435556) and submitted a copy of the check (front and back) complete with deposit stamps clearly showing it was deposited into T-Rock Roofing's account. I also submitted a copy of my credit union withdrawal showing the check issued to T-Rock Roofing. T-Rock head moron Aaron Sadler responded that 'they have never heard of me, don't have any records of this check, and BANKS ONLY KEEP RECORDS FOR FIVE YEARS'. ......What a lie!! Banks keep records indefinitely. I walked into the Bank of America branch in Corinth where it was deposited and the branch manager easily pulled up the deposit to verify it was deposited into T-Rock Roofing's account. Very easy to verify. My credit union had no problem finding the check or withdrawal record, either. The idiots at the worthless BBB promptly closed the complaint due to 'unable to process'. Wow. The BBB is worthless. I heard that T-Rock paid the BBB to close the complaint. Don't due business with T-Rock Roofing and try not to get by drunk drivers.
Description of Work: In July of 2011 I sent T-Rock a $4300 check to re-shingle my house. They cashed the check promptly but never did any work. Below is the whole story....... On May 25 2011 the Denton/Corinth area was hit with a severe hail storm and the roofing companies were overwhelmed with work for the rest of the year. On July 28 2011 I sent T-Rock a $4,300 official check # 0669039088 from my credit union (I submitted a copy of this check BBB and my bank withdrawal showing the check issued to 'T-Rock Roofing'). I was hit by a drunk driver almost head on on the last day of July. I have NO memory of this check or any correspondence with T-Rock during this time. I don't even remember getting hit by the drunk driver. Not then and not now. The check was deposited at Bank of America Corinth, TX on August 1, 2011 (three days after it was issued by my credit union). The back side of the check has three deposit processing stamps which Bank of America in Corinth has verified to me they these are their processing stamps. I have my Delta Community Credit Union showing the withdrawal to 'T-ROCK ROOFING' also. The easiest to read stamp says "PAY TO THE ORDER OF BANK OF AMERICA CORINTH, TX 76210 FOR DEPOSIT ONLY T.ROCK COMMERCIAL INC SAVINGS ACCOUNT 488017923491. The other two are all numbered transaction stamps. The second stamp is "BANK OF AMERICA, NA DAL 111960025 E6496 94 005 08/01/11 9030277503. The third stamp isn't very readable. It is "3377 25592 BANK OF AMERICA ?????" I recovered from the hit and remembered that my house needed to be re-shingled. Since I had no memory of sending T-Rock and sending them the check, I called Dynamic Roofing of Dallas and they re-shingled my house on November 11, 2011. I have the Dynamic Roofing contract, Nationwide Lloyds Insurance Company hail damage claim, and the $4,300 check stub to Dynamic Roofing from 11/14/2011. Nationwide has no claim correspondence with T-Rock Roofing. I recently discovered that I sent two $4,300 checks to two roofing companies in 2011 within a four month period. I was checking my bank records to add up how much money I lost that year due to the drunk driver when I discovered the two $4,300 checks. I also noticed that Dynamic Roofing asked for payment of $4,300 on the day (11/14/2011 )they finished re-shingling my house. Dynamic Roofing didn't ask for a check and promptly deposit the check before doing any work like T-Rock Roofing did.

Excellent! Tyson planned and scheduled it and followed up with professional precision. Roberto called me at 8:30am , effectively ensuring we were both on the same page for his arrival. Roberto reviewed the concern, got up on the roof, and determined the issues. Roberto showed me the cause and next steps he was going to do to resolve the issue. Excellent customer support and effective communication. After completing the work, Roberto showed me photo's of the before, during and after of the completed work. Excellent! Roberto was extremely effective and efficient in his completion of this job. I was very impressed. Tyson did a GREAT job at outlining the job, the individual ( Roberto) to perform the work and the expected timeframe when it would be done. Again, Excellent customer service!

Contractor was in the neighborhood the morning after the storm and he taped up our skylight. Half of our neighborhood had connected with this company and had high praise. We then signed to have T Rock do all of our repairs. This was our very first experience with a loss like this as well as having to hire a contractor. We were very uneducated as to how the process worked with such a major loss and hiring a contractor. We didn't know that repairs would be subcontracted out to other companies and it left us with little recourse after we encountered a couple of problems. Roofers dumped shingles on our outside furniture when removing them - I called contractor and he was out within the hour to have this cleaned up. Pictures included. Also, once roof was done, there is a place where the wood deck is exposed. We were told it was inspected by T Rock after it was brought to their attention and they did not see that it was a problem. Pictures included. The new skylight faces the East and when the sun comes up every morning - much worse in the summer - the skylight makes really loud popping sounds when it warms up and expands. Original skylight didn't do this. We met with fence company - Texas Best Fence hired by contractor - to get options on replacement fence. We met with contractor to discuss our changes to have the fence rebuilt with posts inside facing the yard which he conveyed to the company. After coming home that night after the first day of work, the fence was being built the opposite of our request. My husband talked with the contractor and the fence company the very next morning and, not being privy to the conversation, we were basically told it couldn't be redone as so much had already been done. So we had no options but to have them continue to complete the fence as it was prior to the storm. But, we were told more money would have to be asked for from our insurance company. Our screens on the windows were replaced and on one of our double windows, the glass company had to heat up the area to remove old screen and broke the seal to the double pane window. So our windows have moisture in between the panes and it is hard to see out of the windows. Contractor called glass company in front of me to order new windows. No one ever showed up and after several conversations with the contractor, we were told that it was now the insurance companies responsibility to give more money for the windows to be replaced. We tried many times to connect directly with the glass company and they never returned our calls. Contractor said he could refer us to other glass companies to repair on our own. Gutter system was replaced but several months later, we have a piece that has come off of the brick. Picture included. This was my experience with this company. I would not recommend them because, even though all of the work was done, I feel like we were left worse off than before the storm. We've been left with several things - exposed deck, fogged windows, loose gutter, and noisy skylight - that we didn't have before the storm. Although this was mostly paid by insurance, we paid approximately $7600 out of pocket for the repairs.
Description of Work: Due to major hail storm in March 2016, we had to have our sky light, roof, gutters, window screens, and fence replaced.

The work done was excellent. However, too few workers were assigned to the project, which took much longer than expected. The last day a bigger crew came in, finished up and cleaned up the area very nicely. There were some issues with the follow up communication and gutter work, but it did get taken care of.

The job started off on the wrong footing, but I made allowances for Doyle, since the company had such good reviews on Angie's List. WRONG... Doyle was not honest - he never sent papers or estimates. His response - I must have lost them, since he definitely emailed them to me. After I forwarded the emails I sent requesting the info and asking him to re-send - I received no response. When the work was completed, and the city inspection done, Doyle contacted me for the money. He stated he wanted ALL the money the insurance company had paid me in advance for the claim BEFORE he would give me a bill - or statement of completion!! Who does that? I told him that the insurance payment was for ALL the insured damage to my home, not just for the roof!! (Plus, they will not pay anything else until proof is given of completion, and a 'bill' is presented.) Since then, I have not been able to get another response from Doyle. I called the company to complain, but all I got was a recording. I then called my insurance agent, who wanted to verify the work was completed. They received no response as well. I am now paying more on my insurance renewal, since no proof of completion was available. Stay away IF you get Doyle! Go with another company, as this will not end well with Doyle. Note: My neighbor is in the business and said the roofing job was 'average' - hence the rating.

Mr. Doyle was prompt, thorough, professional and very kind and understanding. He explained my situation to me and fixed what was needed. I was very Thankful as I don't trust many roofing companies but thought I'd take a chance after finding T Rock on Angie's List. I am highly satisfied and would recommend them to anyone. I've already told a friend, at work, that just bought a house in Bedford, I have an awesome roofing company if they were to ever need one.
Description of Work: I bought the roof maintenance package for T Rock back in July of this year ('17). Due to personal circumstances, I haven't had a chance to call and set an appointment. I called on a Wednesday and Mr. Doyle Story answered the phone. He came out the next day. I was concerned about my roof due to a shingle that looked like it was missing and some other concerns about some shingles I had seen, not looking normal.

I worked with the T Rock representative Doyle Story to install a new roof, and to have assorted exterior repairs done; related to hail damage. T-Rock did a great job fixing a leak from my chimney a few years ago. It was an easy choice to call them again when the big hail storm came through earlier this year. Damon and T-Rock did a great job fixing all of the damage. They even worked with the insurance company to fix of a few things that the insurance company missed. I appreciated being able to work with a local company and thank T-Rock for a job well done.

I was expecting them to tell me something was wrong and it would cost a lot to fix it. I purchased the roofing tune up which included inspection for potential damage caulking any area that needed it Etc they were on my roof for an hour came down immediately once the work was finished and I was amazed how much work they did. I was told everything looked great and it could have caused major issues in the future if the caulking and minor repairs had not been done. This is such a great deal too! Any single ladies out there should use this roofing company as a single person I am frequently taken advantage of by contractors. This is definitely a company that you can trust. this is the best experience I've ever had in my life with any contractor.

My new roof was placed on my home April of 2017. It rained and I had multiple leaks. The Zridge shingles were incorrectly installed on all the ridges. I sent photos to the shingle manufacturer GAF and GAF verified that they were incorrectly installed. TRock sent a crew to replace all the shingles on the ridges. The leaks, it took them four times to correct one of leaks. The flue stacks were also incorrectly aligned thru the roof. They had to come back three times to correct one them. Each time they would come to correct one thing they would damage another thing. This kept happening even when the owner came to the house to help out. Next up, the gutters. Gutters were placed around the whole house with grease marks on every run, first floor and second floor. The gutters were installed with the incorrect slope so water would not run down to the downspouts. The gutter installer try to correct the grease marks by painting the gutter but the overspray went onto the house. TRock came back out and either cleaned the gutters or replaced the runs but they never did anything about the incorrect gutter slopes. They also damaged the shingles. At this time the project manager asked for payment for work performed. It blew me away because he had told me at contract signing no payment was needed until all work is complete. To help with the situation and hopefully receive better workmanship I paid the first portion of the roof. I paid >$15,000. This didn't help anything. I asked for a meeting with the owner. I wanted to have a new project manager assigned to my home. On the phone he mentioned a new project manager. So we meet in person to go over all my concerns. He brings my current project manager with him. Not this best of situation so I ask for a private meeting. The owner listened to all my concerns and still decided to keep my current project manager. I knew then that things would not get better. Next up, the chimney cover. The chimney cover that was placed on my home was of a less quality than the one I had on my home. Incorrect screws were used to attach it to my home. Paint on the chimney cover was also scratched during installation. After pointing this out to the owner the owner decided not do anymore work on my home. He told me he will not charge me for the chimney cover and that he wanted to break the contract. After speaking my insurance company I contacted the owner and said what conditions still need to be repaired before I make final payment. I did not hear anything back from the owner for about two weeks even contacting him multiple times. The owner finally decided to assign a new project manager. The damaged shingles were repaired and around 75% of the gutters had to be re-sloped for proper water runoff to the downspouts. It took more than three months to settle. The only items that were installed correctly the first time were the window screens and the mailbox. I had find someone besides TRock to complete the rest of the items from the hailstorm: the fence, AC units and vents. I have photos and emails to verify everything that I wrote.
Description of Work: After the hailstorm the spring of this year I signed a contract with TRock to do all the work that was needed on my home: new roof, new gutters, new chimney cap, new window screens, fence washed and stained, mailbox replacement, replacement of AC parts for two units and a couple of vents. I was assured by the project manager that they were Master Elite Certified by GAF. Prior to signing the contract I received multiple business cards from different TRock representatives. Each card stating that they are Master Elite Certified by GAF.

Dear homeowner, you can see that we go above and beyond to make the homeowner happy. We did everything you asked even when your requests were over and beyond. You forgot to mention that every time you called, we immediately sent personnel to respond. When you asked us to change all your gutters because of damage that you confirmed with the manufacturer, we patiently showed you that the gutters weren't damaged as you claimed and that your gutters were in perfect condition to which you finally agreed 100%. This and many times I showed up and patiently walked You through concerns. I even bought your family dinner 2-3 times. I appreciate that no matter what we do, you will never be happy. I explained that to you and excused myself from any further work with you. As you saw we gave you a money back guarantee. You have a lifetime guarantee on your roof backed by us. What more can you ask for? We left no stone unturned to make you happy. In the end, we Wish you well. Thank You, Aaron Sadler

Neutral impression of the company. As of this point, price is holding me back. I wouldn't say they are on the high side. I guess they were competitive. But, just the roofing project is out of my budget right now. So, it's really not fair to tag them for that. I'm just not ready, I guess. I thought they were pretty punctual, as I recall. You know, they scheduled a time.

All of the below comments are not accusations. I have documents and photographs to prove every point outlined below. Avoid this company like the plague. In my opinion these people will cause you nothing but headaches. I have given T-rock (a.k.a. Dallas Roofer [*** Link removed ***] more than enough time to address each and every issue listed but they have failed miserably to address any of my concerns or issues. T-rock will probably say that I’m a difficult customer. Yes, I may be, especially when I experience extremely poor business practices and dishonest people. Like most businesses with major issues they will blame the customer or someone else so beware! In my opinion everyone should avoid T-rock, a.k.a. Dallas Roofer. The work done at my house was of very poor quality and virtually no service from the office staff. It took me many calls and emails to get them to even talk to me. This is what happened to me: - The roofing crew that arrived was known as a “Gypsy crew” and was from out of town. Two of the individuals were convicted felons. The jailhouse tattoos indicated that they were convicted of murder. One of the individuals had tattoos indicating MS13 membership and he kept trying to hide the tattoo. The truck they were driving had expired Texas dealer plates and he trailer had no license plates of any type which is illegal in Texas. - - They removed the shingles and were preparing to install the new ones without removing the felt. I asked them to remove the felt and replace it with new felt. They seem to be very upset when they were told to remove the felt paper and I heard some very “choice” words in Spanish. - - When they were carrying the shingle bundles on the roof they would raise the bundle above their head and throw it down on the roof as hard as they could. Apparently these people have no respect for other people’s property. - - They continually kept throwing trash into the pool even after I asked them to be careful and not to do that which they did not. Again, no respect for the homeowner. - - They “borrowed” some tools and never returned them. I call that theft! - - Overnight they left piles of trash in the yard and on the patio. The pile of trash on the patio was so large I could hardly get the patio door open. After they left the patio was covered with trash and dirt which I had to clean up. - - New flashings around the chimney were not installed but were painted to look as if they were new. Rust is still visible on one of the flashings they did not paint. New flashings were not installed on the skylight either. Instead of using the flashing material, the contractor walked off with a complete role and told me “I have a good use for this.” Seems to me that it would have been a “good use” on my roof. Incidentally, they were paid to install new flashings which they did not install.. - - I received a phone call from my insurance company wanting to know if all the work had been completed. At that time they were still working on the roof. I want to know why they were calling. I was told that the insurance company had received a phone call from T-rock construction stating that all the work and been completed and they needed to send T-rock construction the remainder of the insurance funds. I told the insurance company that T-rock was only doing the roof and had not even completed that. - - T-rock signed an agreement/contract stating they would do no more work and would refund $1252.30 they had received for work they did not do. To date they have not refunded one penny. - - In the agreement/contract T rock agreed not to file any encumbrances or liens against the property. They have since filed a false claim in the County Clerk’s office stating they wanted to be paid for work they did not do. An actual court record of them filing a false claim. This is currently in the hands of my attorney which they have ignored. - - Beware, on their website they indicate that the homeowner pays very little, if any of the deductible. This is a questionable practice and may even be considered fraud. - - Beware, T rock will deposit insurance checks without obtaining proper endorsement from mortgage companies. This violates many federal banking rules and regulations. I’m very disappointed with Angie’s List. How can a company with dishonest business practices be a “highly rated” company on Angie’s List? This company has a huge number of “A” ratings which seem to be “anonymous.” I have asked/emailed Angie’s List about this and have received no information/explanation from them. The high ratings move the company to the top of the list and indicate they are a “reputable” company. In my opinion Angie’s List can manipulated allowing customers to choose dishonest companies. At this point I question the value of the service Angie’s List provides.

Response from T Rock Roofing & Construction
Dear homeowner, I'm sorry you have such a different view of the account. When we left your house your roof was in perfect condition. The role of valley metal is not for flashing skylights as yours was properly flashed. Your other flashing details are all done as per manufacturers specifications as shown in court. You have a lifetime warranty. Granules on the patio after re-roofing a house is common. They are washed off by the rain.

I wanted to update my previous review. I have received my warranty in the mail for the roof work. Overall, Alan and Aaron responded in a time of need and I appreciate that. I simply wish they would have followed through with the warranty after my first couple of requests.

Aaron and Alan were very responsive initially but as the project ran toward near completion their interest and responsiveness wained. They advised that the roof came with a written warranty for materials and workmanship. Upon completion of the work I requested a copy of the warranty and was told they would get it to me. I never received it. I have subsequently requested my roof warranty more than five times and have never received it, always with the promise they would get it to me right away. Beware if you're looking for warranted roof work.
