I kinda think we could have saved each other some time by discussing ball park figures over the phone, but I guess customers abilities differ. A tape measure was not used at any time. Kevin showed up promptly and shoe horned the pitch into my time constraints. He was knowledgeable etc... I appreciate ya'll coming out and had a pleasant experience. Top of the market bid, and I'll leave top of the market work and service reviews to people that did business with Statewide Remodeling. My flooring contractor was also a B on here, but an A+ in my book, so I get it. Different people value different things. I'm not a fan of Angie's list either.

[Member Name Removed] Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Our designers look at hundred's of bathrooms a month and can usually give a pretty accurate ball park by looking at the bathroom and and a discussion with customer about what they want done. We can not do this over the phone and are happy to provide this service with no charge. If we can be of service to you in the future please give us a call Thanks Frank Manzare EVP/Partner Statewide Remodeling

It honestly went very smooth. The quality of the work was excellent I could not be happier with the finished product. Their communication was excellent and they have been back to check on the work since it was completed. I would highly recommend them for the price and quality of their work.

I saw this company representative at the Women's Show on 9/26/15 and set up an appointment for an estimate for a shower install. They called me back that Monday to confirm. When they called to confirm, the woman said that my husband had to be present and I told her that would not be possible that he works different shifts then me and I would be the one she would be doing the estimate for. She told me that they would not be able to come if he wasn' t available. They did not come. At the same Women's Show, I had picked up a brochure from Home Depot for patio structures. I called them around 10/13/15??(not sure of exact date). They put me through to their installer and again it was Statewide Remodeling. I told the representative I wanted an estimate on a patio cover and again she tells me that my husband has to be present. I told her that was not going to happen. I was getting the estimate and would talk with him about it. She said he had to be present. I asked her if she did not think that I had enough business sense to make a decision on my own? She then told me that surely there is some time that my husband and I have together. She told me that they are number one in the state and had an A rating with BBB. (if they treat their customers this way I do not know how they are A Rated). She then asked me if I was prepared to pay $45 a square foot for a patio cover and I told her yes. She said she would have someone call me back but never has yet. In my opinion this is discrimination against a woman and it is poor customer service. The attitude was not professional and a poor representation for Home Depot. I will not do business with this company now because of their poor customer service. If I am treated this way before we do business then how would I be treated if I did have a contract with them? UPDATE: We did have an appointment on Saturday, and when they called to confirm they found out my husband was not going to be there, so they said they would not be able to come out, and then proceeded to ask me if I was ready to pay 45$ a square foot, I said yes I am, and she said she would get back with us, and I have not heard anything back, and they never asked to see if they could meet with me.

My company does not discriminate against anyone. What this person left out was that we did agree to come out and see just her but we could not do it on a Saturday. We offered any other day of the week. We are always over booked on Saturdays. The Better Business Bureau does recommend that all interested parties be present when a homeowner is getting an estimate. There is much information that has to be discussed and we have found over the 21 years we have been in business we need to get this information gathering done on the first visit when the estimate is given. Otherwise we are getting call backs from the party that is not present with questions their partner forgot to ask. Our estimates are free so I feel it is little to ask for all home owners to be present. We are a professional Home Improvement company. Frank Manzare EVP/Partner

11-25-15 UPDATE: Job was finally finished on 11-12-15, but not without additional problems...like when I told them to be careful of the phone & satellite cables under the eve. Regardless of my comment, they still managed to cut both. Luckily, Dish was able to come out within 3 days, but TWC has been a nightmare and the phone line is still not repaired. So if Statewide?s Installer had simply listened to me, I would not be going thru 2wks of h*** w/TWC. As for the patio cover, it looks nice and definitely better than what I previously had. The electricians were great & knew what they were doing. The city inspector passed both the cover & electrical on first review which I was thrilled about. At this point, I'm just glad this experience is over with. Now the test will be to see if there are any leaks where they connected it to the house. Until then, I?m looking forward to using the patio. 10-5-15: The project is currently in the works, but I?ve been dealing with this since signing the papers on July 2nd & can no longer contain my frustration! Initially, I was excited to get a new patio cover, but the company/staff have drained any excitement left. Comms w/San Antonio office/personnel has been horrible, absolutely horrible. Here are the events to date: 1st, after 4hrs w/ their sales rep, not once did he ever mention that they would have to have a survey of the property in order to get permits to begin work, which was not included in cost. So there was a $350 expense I was not counting on, on top of the $16.5K I?m already paying for this patio cover. 2nd, before I ever had anyone come out to the house to start working on demolishing the old patio cover & breaking up the old concrete, I repeatedly addressed my concerns to the project manager (PM) about the large special ordered sliding glass door on the back patio & the fear I had about it breaking during the concrete removal. He assured me it would be fine & it wouldn?t happen. And wouldn't you know it, within 2hrs of them starting the concrete breakup, I get the call they had broken the window. The PM said he already had a "window company" going to replace it, but I told him no because those windows were under a warranty & needed to be dealt w/ through the company I purchased them from or it invalidates the warranty. When I asked if he was there at the house looking at the damage, he said no, he was in his office. Seriously?! You have a problem like this, specifically after I repeated my concerns about the window?and he tells me he?s sitting in the office?! OMG. I requested he immediately get over to the house to meet me. When I get to the house the window is not covered/protected in ANY way, so of course when you chisel concrete pieces fly around & sure enough a piece struck the window shattering it. PM arrived (45 mins after I did) & told him I had contacted the Window Co., letting them know the problem & that they would be expecting his call. He said he had to run the situation by his supervisor. Only after he talked to his boss (I can only assume the GM), they approved the ordering & paying of new window. The PM also went out to Lowe?s & bought plywood to cover up the remaining window?it's a little late. Because the window was tempered (safety glass) it shattered in place into a million pieces, but didn?t fall out, staying in place within the window frame. PM left it that way until it finally collapsed & dropped all over the concrete pad. I was left to clean up the biggest mess ever, taking hours because it went everywhere sliding across the 13x16? concrete pad! As of right now, the glass window is still on order (it?s been 3wks) & hopefully will be in this week. I think what is most stressful & disheartening about this fiasco, is it could've been completely avoided had Statewide taken the time to get one piece of plywood up before demolition?proactive, not reactive. 3rd, so they pour the concrete & I come home to see how it looks. I keep starring at it because something just doesn?t seem right. I ask the concrete guy is it me or is the patio foundation off?! Concrete guy says its level across (which it was) but there is about a 3-in slope going down from under sliding window to end of patio (which is very noticeable). When I asked why he said because they do that for all patios, only for sunrooms do they level it out?I just stood there shaking my head, took my phone out and called the PM, who (of course) is not at the site. During the conversation, I reiterated to him communication was important & no one from Statewide (i.e. PM) bothered to confirm w/me that a sloping patio foundation was in fact what I wanted (not what the company wanted, but me, the customer), especially since I not only told the sales person (but the PM as well) about my desire to eventually close in the patio to make a sunroom. So now it will only ever be a patio because it slopes 3 inches in a 13 foot patio (it?s very noticeable since its in a corner portion of the house). All I can say is communication, communication, communication to their customers?which the company seriously lacks. 4th, this past Monday (9/28), I get a call from the PM, who seems really hesitant on the phone. Of course my first response was ?Oh God now, what? What?s wrong?? He proceeds to tell me the patio material came in, but there was a slight problem, seems part of it was not the right color ? patio slats came in as WHITE not the Sand color. OMG, I seriously cannot believe this is happening. Does the company?s ordering department, not check and double check orders to ensure they get customer orders right? And if they had questions, shouldn?t they be talking to the PM before ordering? And if the PM wasn?t sure, shouldn?t you be contacting your customer to confirm the color?! Being in the customer service/contracting business you would think so!!! I requested the PM stop by the house & bring over the color that was ordered vs. the color on my contract so I could see how bad the color variation was. The house is a brown/tan colors with a cream brick, white absolutely does NOT go with the house?s color scheme. Talk about a stark difference & by no means an aesthetically pleasing one. PM proceeds to tell me that a lot of people do two-tone patio covers. I must have had a look on my face, because he quickly said "But by no means am I saying you should accept this mistake". I asked to see pictures of two-toned patios & he managed to pull up a couple on his phone, though they were not clear. I asked if he had a showroom I could go see & he said no they didn?t. The more I thought about it the angrier I got with this whole situation & the continued screw up/lack of attention to detail this company calls customer services. So I expressed to him he needed to make this right & get the color that was on my contract, he agreed. I also told him he needed to do whatever he had to ensure expedited deliver because I was not pushing back the installation dates that we agreed on and set for in OCTOBER (3 months after signing contract) because I had to schedule the time off from work. And to be honest, if they had ordered it right the first time, it would have been on schedule for installation and there would be no problem. I have been following up w/PM almost on a daily basis to see if the material has been ordered and shipped; 5 days later, still no word on if they will be able to get the material here in time for the installation date (I get excuses like different time zone, people out to lunch, guy out sick, etc.). I finally get the PM on the phone who tells me he can?t get someone on the line from the manufacturing company to confirm if it will or won?t be here by next week which means most likely it will not be in on time. Really, what are they working with a one-man manufacturing company?! 5th, while the PM was there and communication from their side seems to be a huge issue, I wanted to make sure the PM understood what I was expecting for the installation of the electrical switch (which is part of the contract) that goes to the outdoor ceiling fan (which I had to buy). Initially, he said they would tie it into the porch light, so when I want the fan on the porch light will come on. Yeah that wasn?t going to fly w/me because that was not what the sales rep had sold me. So of course, we discussed the situation & he was telling me how difficult it would be for their electrician to add another switch, which of course is what I requested when I was dealing with the sales rep. So I?m staring at him like ?are you kidding, your company sells this bill of goods and now you want to try and wiggle your way out of it?. Ultimately, I had to find the solution to the problem myself. Luckily, I have a 2-switch plate next to sliding door they broke that operates both patio light & inside house light (backs up behind patio light). The light switch to the inside is not currently being used so I made suggestion that perhaps his ?master? electrician can figure out how to use the switch & wiring from the inside light for the outside ceiling fan (as long as it meets outdoor electrical code compliance). He thought it was a great idea and would mention it to the electrician?. At this point, Statewide should be paying me for my time: The number of hours I have had to take off of work to deal w/problems this company seems to create, not to mention the aggravation & stress they have caused me. I can only pray the rest of my experience (installation of patio cover) will go smoothly with no issues, but I?m not going to hold my breath. I have readdressed other concerns that I have had from the beginning to the PM regarding the cutting back of the house eve (requested pics of other projects, with little to no luck). I have even requested they get their most experienced installer to do the install because I cannot handle any more avoidable problems. I would just like to move on from this nightmare project?

I have read thru the notes in this customers file and there have been some issues that would cause frustration. I did find that there where also delays beyond our control that have not been mentioned. The customer put the job on hold for over two weeks and we then where unable to get a call back to set up the presite. Once the presite was done we applied for the permit which requires a survey of the property. We will be happy to pay for this. The broken glass on the patio door was defiantly our mistake and to my knowledge the replacement glass has been ordered. As to the slope in the concrete. The city will not approve the concrete for a patio cover if there is not the correct amount of slope. I agree you should have been told about it. As to material arriving from our manufacture in the wrong color. We ordered the right color but the wrong color was shipped. That did add a delay while we waited for the correct color to arrive. We appreciate the customers participation in the project and apologize for the missteps that have accrued. I believe the material we are waiting on is due any day and the project will be completed to the customers satisfaction. We will also be giving the customer compensation for the delays. Friday, Aug. 14: Statewide staff advises us that work will start on Monday, Aug. 17. The bathroom is cleared out and ready for construction. Monday, Aug. 17: When no workers had arrived by 11 a.m., Client calls the project manager and was nonchalantly told that there had been a mix-up, and no work would take place that day. We lost the entire day (a vacation day for us). Billy assured us we would have a crew onsite at 8 a.m. Aug. 18. Tuesday, Aug. 18: At 9 a.m. when workers had not arrived, client calls Project Manager for a status check. He rudely replied, ?We are working on getting your materials. We?ll be there.? At 10:30 a.m., a worker Project Manager finally arrives to begin demolition. He said the sink, tub and toilet would be removed and stored on the side of the house; he planned to return in ?a couple of days? to pick it up. client expressed concerns about the effects this would have on the neighbor and on the irrigation system in the yard. As contractor worked, blood stains are left on the door jamb in the hallway scuff marks are left on the wall in the hallway(See Photo Drywall debris is left in the driveway. The worker does not bring buckets, so he asks to borrow two of ours. One is ruined. A broom and dustpan he asked to borrow are now nowhere to be found. Since the worker was solo, we had to help him remove the old vanity from the house and load it in his truck. Wednesday, Aug. 19: We are told that no work can take place today because the City of Fort Worth inspector would be coming, and workers would be in the way of the inspector. The inspector spends no more than five minutes in the house. Another day of construction lost (and another day of vacation for us). Thursday, Aug. 20: Shower pan, Wedi board and drywall installed. Friday, Aug. 21: Worker Contractor begins installing shower tiles. Project manager arrives around lunchtime and tells the worker that the work is unacceptable. They exchange words in the front yard, and Billy says the worker is off the job. No progress today. Another day of wasted vacation time for us. Before he leaves, contractor pours a bucket full of white liquid down the driveway, leaving a stain. Client requests a new project manager, and new Project Manager is assigned to the job. He arrives and ensures us that we are in good hands, and the job will be completed in short order. Saturday, Aug. 22. Tile man contractor completes about 80 percent of the floor before leaving . He says he cannot start on the shower tiles because no Wedi sealant had been applied by the previous worker, and none could be purchased on a weekend. Contractor work is good. Project Manager arrives at the jobsite to look everything over. He discovers that the shower hardware has not been delivered with the rest of the project supplies. We are not sure of the status of the shower hardware. Monday, Aug. 24: Tile contractor and his helper arrive about 3:30 p.m. and say they must remove the shower pan because it was scratched by another worker who did not put down drop cloths contractor can?t tell us when a replacement will be available. In the meantime, while at his office, client receives a derogatory and hateful text message, obviously intended for another Statewide employee, from Project Manager which was discriminating and hateful. __________________________ So that brings us to Day 7 of the project, and the only thing that is completed is a portion of the floor. And we?re on our third project manager. This project took a total of 4 weeks and we were told it would take about a week. It's hard to get a response from management at Statewide and need to follow up couple times before they do. This was a horrible experience and do not recommend using this company.

We obviously made more than our share of mistakes on your job. We also terminated 2 employees who where responsible for most of the problems. I say most because there is no excuse for some of what happened. We did discount your jobto try and make up for the mistakes. Slow sometimes. does not?If you had looked at our reviews here on Angies list before you copied your review here that you also sent to Jerry Melton our GM/VP who got involved in your project as soon as the problems started and several other review sites you would have seen that I as one of the owners respond to almost every review that is posted here...good or bad. dosen't like our price so gives us a D? Did we show up on time? Did we do a full presentation? We only use top quality products that in many instances are made to our specifications. We also guarantee our workmanship for as long as you own your home and we have a satisfaction guarantee in writting. I hear their ads on the radio and trusted the station I listen to. But once I called them it was one of those sales pitches that you and your wife have to both attend where they are trying to sell you the product that makes them the most, or up sell you on the product. And if you sign the contract and put a deposit down today its one price. if not today, then the price goes up. All I needed was a reputable contractor. I know what I'm doing in construction. My wife could care less as long as she gets to agree on the color. I didn't want a pitch or scheme. Just a contractor. State Wide is not who I'll be calling again.

We cover hundred's of appointments a week. Our estimates are FREE we do not charge for the service. So we do ask that all interested parties be present when we come out to make the estimate. We do not try to upsale as was stated here, We do give the customers options until they decide which products fit their needs then we bid accordingly. I have stated in many responses here that we offer a first inspection discount. We tell all customers that we know it's not for everyone but if everything else is in line and price is the only objection we can work on that while we are there. We will come back at the current offer price and honor that during the promotion period. Keep in mind every time we go back to write up the order on someone we have already given an estimate to we have to reschedule at least one appointment and maybe two for that rep that day depending on where the appointments are in comparsion to where they have to go back to. We cover a 100 mile radius of our branch location. It's unfortunate that some customers don't respect our time but expect that we should theirs? Statewide Remodeling has been in business for over 20 years and we are a reputable with over 50,000 completed jobs. I hope this home owner finds what they are looking for Frank Manzare VP/Partner

We have been looking for someone to do this work, and we know the prices are kind of high. I just needed someone to do some of the harder things, like replacing the window in the shower and the shower. We had problems since day one with them. We got a call on a Tuesday from the area supervisor who said he was ready to start tomorrow. We were told that we would be given a week's notice before work would start. He said if they didn't start tomorrow we would have to wait another 2 weeks. When we signed the contract we were told we had 3 days to cancel, and after 2 days they went ahead and charged the whole amount for the project up front. I agreed for him to come on Wednesday to start the work, and he looked homeless, not professional at all. They don't have employees, they just hire other people to do the work. The guy started in on the shower, but he was supposed to also replace the floor. I had to make a phone call to make sure the floor was removed. I also initially wanted the toilet moved, but they didn't want to. The plumber came in and said the toilet needed to be moved where I said to move it to begin with. When they were putting the floor back together, they refused to put it back together the way I wanted them to. After that was done they started back on the shower. They started using the wrong materials, ones different than what was agreed upon in the contract. When I insisted that they use the correct materials, they said they would stop work on the project and not refund me anything until I agreed to do it their way. They finally did agree to use the right materials, but the guy who installed it said he would not guarantee his work. This whole process has taken a lot longer than it was supposed to take and it's still not done. They had to replace my double hung window in the shower, and they ordered the wrong size and it's only a single hung window. They have ordered it twice now and it is still the wrong window.

I'll try to tell Statewide's side of the story and I am not discounting the customers side. We use sub contractors to do much of our labor. These are the same sub contractors that are used to build custom homes not homeless people. They are all background checked. If someone came to their home and look homeless they should have called our office and talk to the installation manager and we would have replaced that person with someone else. We work off of a written contract & spec sheet so it is not he said she said. It's in writting. we have project managers and field supervisors who are employees and they oversee all jobs up to the point of having the customer sign off when it is completed and that they are happy. I am sorry that we have mde some mistakes here but we will correct them and the workmanship is guarenteed by Statewide Remodeling not the installer. We have been in business for 21 years and will be here to stand behind whatever work we do. Frank Manzare VP/Partner

The porch was okay. But I was lucky I was there because they started to put up 3 poles instead of 4. They also put a board in between the house and the porch that doesn't match the porch or the house. It was hard to get ahold of the guy in charge and when I did, he acted like he was in a hurry.

we build our jobs off a contract with a diagram signed off by the customer. If we make a mistake we correct it. I'm not sure what a matching board looks like but if it was wrong we would have corrected it. As to being in a hurry. I apologize but we are very busy Why the F for pricing? Not sure about that. Ever customer signs a contract with the price clearly stated in writing. If they don't like they price they should not sign the order I usually do my shopping before I buy. I can promise you if you get a bid from another contractor after the job is started it will be cheaper every time. They know they don't have to do the work and some people really believe them!

I was given this company as a contractor by Home Depot. When they came out they gave us an estimate. Unfortunately this was my first estimate and I didn't have a good idea as to how much it really should cost. I was quoted $21K at first and when we were reluctant we got the price down to $18.5K and was told that this was a deal we had to agree with that day to get the price. I didn't really appreciate the pressure sales tactics that I was given, but I still thought I was given a good deal. Even with this happening, they got the work done on time and the quality of work was very good. There were a few things they could have done to make it perfect. One was to install a cover over the interface from the tile to carpet on the floor, but I was ok leaving it like it was. After talking to some people I realized that I over paid for the job. I submitted an after job review about the pricing on paper and by email, but I got no response. I called several times to try to get a itemized list of what I was being charged for, but they refused to provide it. I guess they don't want their customers to realize how much they are being over charged to line their pockets. After a month or so of use the shower seat that we were promised would hold started to loosen from the wall. If it wasn't going to work as promised we wanted it removed. They sent a crew out to remove it and replace the tile. Unfortunately they sent the "B" team out because they weren't smart enough to see that the tile they brought with them wasn't the right color. They informed me after they put it on. I stated that I had extra tile so they used that. Unfortunately they ran out of grout and tile glue to reinstall the right tile. They used some tile caulk the previous installers left to finish the job. Unfortunately it didn't dry and the tiles still moved, thus requiring more hassle and time to get it fixed right. To conclude I would recommend that you get at least 2-3 estimates before using having this company bid on your job so you aren't stuck with high pressure sales tactics and you can negotiate down their bloated estimates.
Description of Work: Remodeled a portion of the bathroom. Removed spa tub and shower. Removed carpeting. Replaced toilet. Installed tile flooring. Installed walk in shower with glass enclosure. Installed a shower seat.

I apologize for the service issues after the completion of your job. If there are still concerns please call me directly at 214-446-9031 and I will make sure it is taken care of As to pricing and sales practices. We explain to all customers our pricing policy and encourage people to get other prices if they feel they need to. If a lower price was negotiated and agreed to I am sorry that you feel it was too high. We use a written estimate sheet and do not just make up prices. Stating you paid too much I would ask compared to what? Yes there are contractors working out of their pick up trucks with no insurance no back ground checks and no warranty in writing that will beat my prices by a mile ever time. I assumed you where not looking for those folks when you went to Home Depot? We where also Home Depots Service Provider of the year in 2014 for the Southwest Region and installed several thousand bath remodels for their customers around the state. Frank Manzare VP/Partner

Had very high expectations, Window and Bathroom Remodel Reps were in my home over 5 + hours? They were nice, knowledgeable, but when it came to price.... all deals were "has to be done today" or pay another 10-20%. I had a good window reference and knew I would pay a little more and overall the Window experience was average. It should have been great for what I paid. They arrived late, broke one of the panes of glass. (I saw it was broken on their truck but they still installed it). Told us they would call the following Mon or Tue to schedule. They never called! I called them and they finally came out yesterday and replaced the broken glass. Since they left, we have found broken glass in our carpet, outside on our patio and in our yard along the trail they used to take out their trash. Spent two hours digging a shard of glass from my wife's foot. The price did not match the quotes of "Best in Service" or "we are not the cheapest for a reason". The Bathroom is another story. A $46K quote was first out of the box..... Was not in the cards so we settled for a complete redo of the bath tub/shower area. The sales rep and I walked back to the bathroom and agreed on what was going to happen after the change and I agreed on the price with this expectation. Low and behold after all of the coding on the paperwork where the rep described my bathroom, he failed to keep the removal of the fur down and I missed it on the paperwork. Well, after 5 hours... it was time for them to leave so I helped pack up the older gentlemen who sold us the windows and was able to get them both on their way. Just before they started the work I called my sales rep to verify the work and low and behold, a Manager named Paul called me to discuss. THE SALES REP HAS NEVER CALLED ME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe this! The most unprofessional conversation transpired where he blatantly threatened me with, "well how about I just keep your $5700 deposit as damages and we just call it even! He made sure I understood he had a IRON CLAD contract and I was HUNG! ?Didn?t you read the agreement, don?t you read things before you sign them?. I told Paul to kiss my rear end! Paul did a very good job and making sure I knew there was nothing I could do. So I emailed the owners. Frank, a very nice man, Co-Owner, he an Paul.... chalked it up to that we talked about many things and I just must have misunderstood when the rep took off items to get into our budget. I have been in sales for over 28 years..... They wanted another $1100-1500 to remove a 12? X 36? X 60? fur down above the tub. Simple cuts, adding fours pieces of sheet rock, a couple of tiles and paint the ceiling?.. They refused....... We were overcharged. If I had not worked construction while in school, I would not have know. They left debris on my back patio they had to be washed away, bits and pieces of grout and trash in my yard, unseated nails on the opposite wall where they Sledge Hammered out the old tub and plaster fell into the back of our TV, all over our dresser and floor and luckily my wife showed them or it may not have been repaired. I was told the job would take 8-9 days and the labor was why it was this expensive and oh yes, do not forget about their quality!!!! BS!! It took one man 28 hours and a Plummer 1.5 hours and they were done. After pricing out parts?.. They charged me somewhere in the neighborhood of like an Attorney bills per hour?? did I say BS. Or, made a 100%+ profit instead of the .30-.45% margin most reputable companies make on their work. I was misled, paperwork was very confusing especially after 5 hours of closing........ You do your homework and do not trust a referral. I will not consider this company for ANY work...... Primarily foe two reasons... They blamed me for the error and Paul who spoke to me and proved the essence behind the madness. Problem here is you have to buy the duck before you see if walk and talk.......

I always love it when you bend over backwards to help a customer and this is what you get. I did talk to this man and offered to do the work he wanted for free for almost free. We use a contract and this customer is the exact reason a hand shake doesn't work anymore. My word is my bond and I did exactly what I said my company would. This guy was looking for any excuse he could find to get something for nothing. He cancelled the bath job until we installed the windows. He could have left it cancelled at no cost but chose to have it completed. Then puts a stop watch on the crew and decides he knows what my costs are for material and labor...Really? I have been in this business for 33 years and started this company 21 years ago. We install around 250 bathrooms a month across the state and have been service provider of the year for the nations largest home improvement retailer several times. I would never say we don't make mistakes because we do and if you read the reviews here you know i except responsibility when we do. The biggest problem here is a man who wanted something for nothing and when he didn't get what he wanted he decided to write the above complaint. Lastly this is construction! there is going to be some debris that we miss. Most people complain because the job took to long. This guy's complaining because we got it done too fast. Very Bad! I told the sells person that my biggest fear was cutting into the roof and having it damaged or left open and my house Flooding. I was told that it was against company Policy to leave a roof open. That the they would not cut into the roof unless they could complete the roo that day. Well I was out of town the day they cut into the roof (my Husband was home). Apparently the contractor decided to leave the roof open covering it with a tarp that was not secured very well?. IT RAINED THAT NIGHT! The entire back side of my hiouse was FLOODED! MY WORSE FEAR WAS REALIZED!!!! During the next week or so they proceeded to repair my house. However, when the contractor tried to sheet rock over some VERY WET wood I said no. At that point he started to threaten to leave the repair undone. I had my builder come over and he even told him that the wood was to wet. But I still had to call the sales rep to get the wall left open. As soon as I was not at the house they closed up the wall and told me the wood had dried. I have my doughts. We finally got the walls done and now it was time to replace the capers and put the house together. There was a misunderstanding about the carpet. We had picked carpet that we thought everyone was in agreement on?How ever the head contractor guy got upset about the carpet price, whinch was a mid quality carpet. He wanted to put a low poor quality carpet in. When we disagreed he asked us what about his pain and suffering. We asked him to leave. Statewide Remodeling did make offer us a check to cover the amount of the carpet if we would take care of getting the work done ourselves. We agreed because I was facing a Major Canser surgery and wanted the house back to normal before my surgery and we did not have to deal with them anymore! But know we are having problemwith the cover collecting water?I hate the idea of having to contact them for warranty work!

Not sure what is going on here and why this customer has decided 6 years after the job was completed to file this kind of response?Yes there where issues on this job but according to our records repairs where made to customer's satisfaction and a completion certificate was signed by both home owners saying they where satisfied. All this happened in 2009. I'm guessing this was generated by Angie's list as they have started calling old customers asking them about their experience. I received a call myself from a contractor i contacted from one of Angie's list special deals. The work was done over 2 years ago and frankly i could not remember what the finished job was? We offer a workmanship warranty for as long as a customer owns the house. We have been in business for over 21 years. makes little sense to me that after 6 years these folks file a negative response but won't call us to have us correct the problem. We also have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau . If they are concerned that their issue will not be taken care of properly please call me directly and I will personally see that it is. First of all, did not tell us that the shower door was outsourced to a different company nor did they explain the length of time to complete the entire project (so many days for the grout to cure, etc.). The salesman told us that we had a 10 year guarantee for no mildew or mold in the shower due to the type of grout they used. For us, that was the tiebreaker. Less than two years later, we have mildew in the shower (even with a weekly cleaning service that does an outstanding job). When I called about the issue, the person in charge of service was very insulting and said that it was mold and mildew resistant but no guarantee. When I mentioned our salesman's name, there was silence on the other end. They cam out and cleaned it but said there was not guarantee. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they lie to get you to sign and do not follow through on their promises/warranties. I will never use them for anything again.

[Member Name Removed] My apoligizes for the mis information that you recieved from one of our sales reps. I wish I could be on every call to make sure there is no confusion. We do offer a 10 year warranty on leaks but not mold & mildew. These two things will grow on any service including glass. We use a very specific contract that states all warrantes we offer in writting. It also states no verbal agreements are binding on either party. As you might imagine i get complaints from customers that state " well the salesman said" and they clain that was the only reason they purchased but it was not in the agreement? We also state in our contract that we use a custom glass company to build the glass work. The reason we do that is that you cannot measure for the glass until the walls of the enclosure are installed and it does take a couple of weeks to get glass custom glass built and installed. We are a 21 year old company and install about 3000 bathrooms a year so we are going to make mistakes. I am sorry our service manager was rude to you and I will discuss that with him. I am not understanding why all of a sudden we are getting all these reviews transcribed from a phone interview? We contact most of our customers to review their completion survey. They are telling us that Angies list is calling them. I guess Angies list is not getting enough reviews submitted so they feel the need to solicit them? The problem i have with this is the review ranking in most of these dose not make sense. This one says nothing as to why we got a B? NA in all categories then a B overall. Member says they where happy with our work so why didn't we get an A?

Well i'm stumped here? We did no work we did quote a price but no rating on that. We got all A's in all other catagories but an F overall? This was a phone interview? You would think the person doing the interview would have asked that question? Maybe that makes too much sense? Maybe because our designer tried to negotiate with them we got an overall F? This went GREAT! From the time that Dana our sales rep came over, till the job was finished it went just like they said it would. It has been over a year since they were installed and I have to say these windows work just like they said they would. We installed the Restoration series windows made by Sunrise Windows. Our kitchen and dinning rooms have a western exposure with big windows it was unbearable in the summer to sit by those windows. Last summer was very hot and you could touch the windows and they were cool to the touch. The front rooms in our home were always very cold in the winter now the house stays warm in the winter and all the cold air that was leaking in has stopped. I did my research before getting these windows and I believe they are the best out there. You can buy cheaper windows but I really believe you get what you pay for.

The job entailed just demo and remove a garden tub in my master bath, and convert to a walk-in shower. We were led to believe that HOME DEPOT would supply the materials used, but after I talked to the salesman after the job was complete he stated that none of the materials used were from HOME DEPOT. I canceled one of the grab bars from the installation and found out that it cost $330.00. The amount was deducted from the total cost. I was told that the grab bars were commercial grade, I checked HOME DEPOT for the grab bar and found the exact same bar for $39.00; I asked for an itemized materials list when the job was started but till now they have not produced one. I called a manager ( Duane Charping) and left messages and my Telephone number for him to call me back but as of now still no return. The job was done very well and very fast all the time used was approximately 30 hours in a week Monday to Friday. I was told by the subcontractor that I should have shopped around first but I thought that there trailer in front of The HOME DEPOT would mean something, this gives HOME DEPOT a bad name. I understand that they have to make a living, but please not all of it from me, and I understand that buyer beware, but that kind of business will not get my business again and I definitely will not recommend them to anybody else. This was a nightmare. .

Not sure why this shows as a dispute? Also customer states it was a nightmare but job was very good? We bid jobs as complete not piece meal so unless customers ask for a design service and pays the design fee we do not leave an itemized list of costs. We bid the complete job. This customer signed an agreement and we installed the job per the agreement. We are a service provider for Home Depot and where recently awarded Service Provider of the year award. I apoligize for any confusion our contractor may have caused with comments made to the customer. Of course in referance to the grab bar there is much more involved in the costs of a grab bar installation than the price of the bar. We strive to satisfy ever customer on ever job. Obviously that did not happen here even though they state they liked the final product Frank Manzare VP/Partner Statewide Remodeling

We went to Home Depot and picked out a bathtub to replace an existing tub. Home Depot referred us to Statewide Remodeling for the removal & installation. Statewide contacted us shortley thereafter and set an appointment for a bid. The bid turned out to be a high pressure sales job. It turned out that we could not use the tub we had chosen - Statewide does not obtain their tubs from Home Depot (I never did get a satisfactory answer from either Home Depot or the sales rep as to why Home Depot would refer someone who would not use their own products - I got the sense that there's a "kickback" scheme buried in there somewhere.) The sales rep examined the site for the new tub and announced that because of the location of the existing tub they would need to jackhammer a larger hole in the slab foundation to relocate the drain. The cost for all of this would be $5800. If we would allow Statewide to use our job in their advertising, the cost would drop to $3500!. He would not provide a copy of his estimate. He did apologize for sounding like a salesman and we, of course, reminded him that he was a salesman. We declined the job. We returned to Home Depot and purchased the tub we wanted for $175, removed the old tub ourselves, and called our regular plumber (Pro-Bowl Plumbing - an Angie's List member). Our plumber said the existing hole in the foundation slab was plenty large enough and charged us about $500 for the entire job (which required to visits). A relative of mine recently called Statewide to replace a leaky shower pan. Statewide wanted $10,000 for the job. They had the work done by someone else!

Statewide Remodeling only installs products we provide. Home Depot has service providers that will install many of their products. So my apoligizes for the confusion. our appointment setters are instructed to tell our potential customers that so that may have been missed as well. As to our pricing we offer a service that is second to non and we have the longest warranty of any remodeling company in America. So our prices are not going to compete with a local plumber. There will always be someone that can do it for a lower price. Even though we do the work Home Depot is there for the customer in the event there is an issue so i don't know what the Kick Back comment means? Our goal is to make a fair profit otherwise we would not be in business. 60-70% of home improvement contractors do not stay in business for over 5 years. We have been in business for 21 years. So we will be here to service our customers needs. Lastly we would not use a bath tub replacement for advertising. I do not know why our designer would say that but i will follow up with a discussion with his manager. I am glad that you and your neighbor got what you needed in a price range you wanted to spend. High-pressure sales team was the nicest and most pleasant part of the experience. They want you to sign immediately so they give a discount up front if you sign then and there. We called them first for an estimate and then checked with Home Depot to find they use Statewide too. As I look in my bathroom today, I am disgusted with myself for paying what we did for the little bit that was done. They will tell you that a shower remodel is the most expensive thing in a house next to a kitchen, and I don't doubt that it is costly. But we had the footprint of our shower extended a foot- literally, they tore out the flooring and added some 2x6s to makes a bench and that was it. It was not a complete redo or overhaul. No plumbing was moved and no tub changes at ALL. It all stayed in the same place. We had new tile installed in the shower and around the bath (which was originally laid UP AGAINST our bay window and wasn't until I pointed it out that the PM had to come back and check it to make sure I wasn't wrong, and then they had to redo it. Who tiles up against the glass on a window??? We had them re-texture the walls (after we hand scraped all the wallpaper down ourselves) and then we painted it (for 20 grand, they didn't paint. Would have for $800 more...). They replaced the counter after I negotiated in the sales meeting that I wouldn't even get sinks or counters for the original $20,000 quote!!! We did end up getting basic undermount sinks and man made counters, but no new cabinets. They retiled the floor and I do love the Daltile product. But they grouted the wrong color the first time- didn't pay attention to the SABLE brown and instead did SADDLE brown, which didn't match at all!! And then acted bewildered when I said it wasn't the right color. Had to rip out grout once here, then during the second grout with right color, they grouted over trash and debris!!! There were pieces of cement and trash in the grout!! So I made them tear it out again. They put the toilet in my whirlpool tub with nothing underneath it for 2 days...until I complained. And then they put it on my bedroom floor instead with a piece of cardboard under it! Again, complained above the project manager this time and the toilet was then properly removed to the garage. Mind you, we bought all our plumbing fixtures, light fixtures, paint and frameless glass shower door ALL ADDITIONAL to the $20,000- which was about $3,000 more. I need to call them for a warranty issue as my grout is already coming out in places and caulk around tub that had to be redone twice is cracking again. The crew and PM were difficult to work with. Left trash in the bathroom after working, chipped my cabinet boxes that I repainted myself by leaving their tools and sulk guns inside (and didn't fix, by the way). Didn't clean them after grout dust was all over (dark brown on white cabinets), left scratch marks from a razor blade on the tile accent strip in the shower, and about a thousand other things during the project. I was annoyed to have to babysit a crew to make sure the job was done well and not slapped together. They said "we aren't the cheapest but we are the best in quality, you'll see." I feel stupid for buying that line and it's a mistake we won't make again. After hounding, calling, getting a supervisor out (who ended up taking over at the end of the remodel and making complaints to the quality control manager), I can't believe what we paid for the amount of work WE had to put in monetarily and emotionally. They did indeed pressure us to sign the paperwork before the job was done and we vehemently said no until the work was done and to our liking. They did indeed try to rush the work and finish- they started late and some things didn't go as planned, but those were not our problem, and the work shouldn't have been rushed. (For example, they put in new tile floors the 3rd day of remodel before the shower framing and rough-in plumbing was even done. And continued to walk on them UNCOVERED FOR THREE MORE DAYS until I complained!! Dragging tools in and out during tiling of the shower over my brand new floors!! The crew admitted they usually don't do the floor til the end but they didn't want to waste anymore time so "we did them out of order" and walked on them instead with dirty feet and tools. Seriously. There are still things that aren't done well- didn't cover nail holes in new baseboards that I had to fight to be done properly in the first place, to name one, but we needed to be finished with the nightmare of a process. To top it off, we received a letter from the president of the company about a week after the job asking us to tell him what we thought- a standard letter for all customers- and if we replied, we'd receive a Walmart gift card. Well, I responded, going over all the grievances....never heard a word and certainly never received the gift card. I would NEVER recommend Statewide and have told many people so. The price tag alone makes me want to throw up now that I know what others in my neighborhood paid for similar, quiet simple, remodels to their bathrooms. Save the time and find other companies on Angie's List that consistently earn positive reviews!! **In response to Statewide, I most certainly did not give Statewide 10s across the board on their final paperwork...Interesting that you have a different account... To be honest, I can't remember if there were two different reviews- one for Home Depot and one for Statewide. By the end, I just wanted everyone out of my house. Also, we were not members of Angie's List when we hired Statewide. We are now. And the experience was the same regardless. The completion date I entered on the Angie's List form says March 2014. Just because the work was done a year ago does not mean I do not wish to share my experience. It is correct that Statewide has not received service calls from us since the completion of our job. After that ordeal, I haven't been exactly anxious for anyone of the same crew to come back, and the cracking of the grout and caulk was only noticed at the end of the year. But if you checked to see how many times I called when you WERE on the job, you would find several, to many people. We were not "forced" to sign anything, as you stated. Indeed, we signed on by our own free will and choice, but after feeling pressured that the discount would only be valid if we did so THAT day (we signed after 11pm; our appointment was around 7pm). The free estimate was appreciated, but other customers should know that in the end, it's not really free; it's made up in the price of the job somewhere else! Thank you for your phone call today. That was very responsive, and I'm happy to see that a review can provoke some positive action. We will be in touch with the general manager.

After doing some research i am a little confused. First this job was completed over a year ago and recieved a 10 on our satisfaction survey signed by the customer. We have no record of any service calls from this customer and we are prepared to correct any defects in any job we do that are related to workmanship. We do not force anyone to buy on the first visit. We do offer a first inspection discount. We do this to avoid second and third trips to the same customers house if they see what they like and price is their only concern. We find most customers appreciate the oppertunity to save money. Its not for everyone and we even tell our customers that. Our estimates are free and our designers have 2-3 appointments a day and work 6 days a week. Our General manager is trying to get in touch with this customer to find out what we can do to correct any warranty issues they have. We had Statewide Remodeling come out to do an estimate for replacing 5 doors on the back of our house. These were standard, white, fiberglass doors. They called to let us know the average cost of the doors before they came out, which we thought was on the high end, but we were still interested in an estimate. When they did the estimate...which took almost an hour to write up the estimate...the cost was for $39,876 dollars to replace 5 standard doors (2 were French doors), and the associated bronze knobs and hinges. I thought it was a joke when he first handed it to me. Needless to say...we will not be having them back. Can you imagine the cost to do a big project...if 5 doors are almost $40,000 dollars?

well this is a first. negative review because they didn't like our price. There were actually 7 doors. 5 sliders and 2 French. The doors we quoted were 8' tall as well with custom hardware not what we consider standard. Standard doors are 6" 8" tall. The length of time it took to quote the price was due to questions being asked by the customer. By the way our estimates are free. No one seemed to mention that. Salvage and Surplus may have what you are looking for. Thanks Frank Manzare VP/Partner 214-446-9031

Nothing done (thank goodness)
Description of Work: I am interested in remodeling, updating a master bathroom. Initially went to Home Depot to gather information and understood that they used Statewide remodeling for such projects. After three missed appointments (one due to weather) they have no respect for potential customers. Each appt. was scheduled, and then followed up with 3-4 calls to ensure that I would be available, have allocated the time for them, only to receive calls at the time of the appt to let me know THEY can't make it. If they can't make the front end of a project SERIOUSLY doubt they can deliver a product on the back end.

we had to reschedule your appointment twice due to previous appointments taking longer than we anticapated. The last one was due to weather but no doubt we could have done a better job on communicateing this to you. I understand your frustration and don't blame you for being upset. My appoligizes for your inconvience Frank Manzare VP/Partner
