I could not be happier with this company, they made everything very easy from the get go. We had several other companies come out to give us an estimate, and they where all less expensive than statewide however they just came out and asked what we wanted and didn't offer any ideas- their price they explained was an estimate and could be more if they ran into problems along the way- ( so who knows if they would have been less in the long run) also they gave me an allowance for the materials in the kitchen, which really didn't seem like it would cover what I wanted. With statewide, the experience was completely different than with any of the other companies, the designers where very professional, and they sent out a kitchen designer and a sunroom specialist at the same time, which was very helpful because we were wanting to change the layout. I had an idea of what I wanted to accomplish, and both of them worked with me to create a design that is an absolute masterpiece - I never would have come up with it on my own - or with a Chuck in the truck as they call it. The kitchen designer had all of the materials with her, and helped me make selections in my home under my lighting (which makes a big difference) and helped me tie everything into my existing furnishings. They helped make the process enjoyable and less confusing having 1 company handle everything turn key. Once I made the selections with the designers, they helped me obtain finacing through their fiance department, and then a project manager came out and remeasured, went through the selections again and drew it up in 3D form so I could see what it was going to look like before they ordered materials, this was amazing, I was able to tweak it a little to get it the way I wanted, and felt so much better and wasn't near as nervous, once I could see the final outcome. My designers and the project manager walked me through the process and stayed in contact with me through out the entire project- never once did I not have an email or a phone call returned. The installers, informed me of what they where doing, they where clean cut, courteous, spoke english, where punctual every morning, worked hard and continuous and cleaned up after themselves every day before they left. Between them being professional and knowing they where insured and bonded, I felt comftable with them being in my home if I was or wasn't there. This project did take about 5 wks to complete, and I might have been able to have saved a few thousand going with a different company, but I honestly don't believe that it would have turned out near as nice. And I have peace of mind knowing that I have a solid company that will stand behind their warranty. I would totaly recommend this company to anyone who wants a professional job done- I wish I could post pictures- I'm so proud of my new kitchen and sunroom- having them come do my bathroom at the first of the year- cant wait! Hope this helps.

two A's & 1 D equal an overall D? I don't understand we quoated a price and asked for the order and because they felt our price was too high we get a D grade. I am sorry for whatever we did wrong. But we have completed over 30,000 projects since my partner and i started the company in 1994 and most of our customers are completely satisfied Frank Manzare VP/Partner

We install over 100 bath remodeles a month. I don't understand what exactly this customer wanted. the explanation is very brife. If they got an estimate we would have had to do a price breakdown for them. We do not do designs for a customer then leave them behind for them to use to get bids from an other contractor. The estimate is free and so is the design if they they decide to use our services. We do leave a price with the customer that is good for 30 days. If the customer is ready to get started when we are there we explain why we can offer an incentative to start the process on our first visit and about 50% of the cuatomers we do business with take advantage of this. Some need more time & we understand. our designers have 2-3 appointments 6 days a week. It costs money & upset customers when we have to go back several times to consomate the order. When we go back to a previous customer to get the order completed we have to reschedule other appointments to do this and quit ofetn we lose the ones we reschedule. placing the order on the first visit is an option a customer has but there is no preasure to do it Frank Manzare VP/Partner

I had the appointment scheduled for a Thursday afternoon. No one showed up during that time. I got a call on Friday asking if they could schedule a time to come out. I replied that they had missed the appointment on Thursday, to which they apologized profusely and asked for another appointment. I did reschedule, and the rep came out, did the survey, then proceeded to hard-sell me to purchase the product on the spot. I then asked him to leave. First, his price was waaaaaaaaaay higher that other quotes I had received, and he continually bad-mouthed other companies while trying to get me to sign. He also kept asking where my wife was, and I continually explained that I was divorced, and there was no wife, but yet he continued to keep harping on that.

After some research on loans and lines of credit we decided that we did not want to take on that much debt at this time and on Monday I called and canceled the contract. Do: Research how you're going to pay for this before the salesperson arrives. And be aware you won't have a kitchen for about a month while the work is being done. Don't get so excited about how great the new kitchen will look that you forget that it will have to be paid for. In our case $37,000.
Description of Work: The salesman (Ray McDowell) came on time and did an excellent job of presenting his products/services. He drew elevations of all the cabinets and included the features we asked for. We gave him a check for $300 as non-refundable earnest money and he left his drawings with us and made and appointment with us to start selecting tiles and granite.

I was approached in a Home Depot by a man offering a free quote for a bathtub and shower liner in my home through their "Home Services" division - which is actually subcontracted with Statewide Remodeling. A rep. named Wade Vastine (sp?) from Statewide came out to my house, looked at my bathroom and gave me a long 20 min. presentation regarding his company and product. The hard sell began after he quoted a price and stated that the price he was quoting would only be good for today. I explained to Wade that if his company is so confident in their product I shouldn't have to and/or or need to make a decision on the spot and would be allowed to talk to other contractors before making my decision. I also informed Wade that I felt like I was in a car dealership by his persistence that I make a decision on the spot to spend over $2,000 on a home improvement project. Wade left me with his bid of $2,056. I ended up having my bathtub and shower refinished for $900 and am very satisfied with the work.

Response from Statewide Remodeling
I apologize for this members bad experience with my company. I can tell you that our prices are not the cheapest in town so if price is the main concern i understand their frustration. I would also say most jobs look good when they are first installed/completed. I have been in the home improvement business over 30 years and about 20% of the work we do today involves redoing someone else's job from a company who went out of business. As i have said in previous responses we are not perfect & do make mistakes. it appears we have upset this member by asking for the order on our first visit. Any bid we quoat is good for 30 days. In most cases we can offer an additional discount if the home owner wants to start the process the day we are there. Some people get up set because they are not ready to move forward and want to get other bids but want the lowest price. This customer chose to do business with another company and appears to be satisfied with the outcome at a much lower price. Without knowing all the details of the materials used and warranty offered i cannot comment on that. It appears we got high marks for showing up on time. I don't know why overall we would get a D when all we did was quoat a price? Please keep in mind our estimates are free of charge in most cases. I am happy that this member is satisfied with their decision. Again i am sorry we did not fullfil their expectations. I was not there at the time of the demonstration but we do tell customers when we make appointments that it will take 60-90 minutes and it usually does. Thanks Frank Manzare co-owner

Scheduled a visit on a Tuesday. No one showed. When I called I was told it was rescheduled to Wednesday. I could not do that day. I rescheduled for the following Tuesday at 10:00 am. By 10:20, no on was here AGAIN! I called the dispatch number and was told they would call my estimator and call me RIGHT BACK. 30 minutes later, still no one and now NO CALL! 45 minutes after my call, now more than an hour after my scheduled time, I finally get a call back that there has been a mix up and he can be there at 11:45. At this point I am so frustrated by the experience I told them nevermind. Even if they send someone out I will not use them due to the poor service and punctuality BEFORE I've even signed on.

Called to get quote on replacing 5 to 6 windows in the house. The first gentleman (Andy) that answered the phone was very polite and setup a meeting for 1:00PM the next tuesday. Saturday (Sherri) called to verify the appointment, she then proceeds to tell me that both myself and my wife must be there! (RED FLAG!!!) And says that we must reschedule because they cannot do it without both of us being here!!! Below is a paragrah from howtodothings.com website: Call three window replacement companies specializing strictly in replacement windows to compare them. When you call the company, make sure the estimate is free and that there are no obligations attached to the visit. Some window companies will cleverly find out if you are married or have a "significant other" by asking leading questions. Be careful of this tactic, as if they find out you do have another decision-maker in the house, they might refuse to come out unless both of you are there. So hince the Red Flag!!! Don't need high pressure sales tatics, so would stay away from them even to ask for a quote

This company wants to do a good job and wants to have satisfied customers. I'm pleased with the larger shower, the glass block window and the sink top. Custom cabinets were installed and they are well done and beautiful. Some workers were very skilled (the plumber and electrician were excellent). Unfortunately, the job took much longer than anticipated (5 weeks instead of the 2 projected); and there was a lack of attention to detail and organization which resulted in redo's and delays. We had to go to the second level of management to get problems resolved. At that level, the problems were resolved quickly. One issue not resolved was incorrect installation of a grab bar which is useless. Because I think this company really wants to do a good job, I am sorry that I have to say "no" to using them again; but I can't quite justify saying yes.

Initially, the sales person showed up at 5:40. He indicated that he was early because he thought the appointment was at 5:30 vs 6:00. If that's the case, then he was late. If he was early, he's way early and was lucky we were home. From that point on, it turned into a fairly hard sales pitch where he didn't seem to want to show us the windows that he had. He came in and started asking questions on what we wanted in our windows. We gave him specific answers (19 windows, double hung, low-E, Argon, double pane, full screen, sculptured grids, etc) as well as what we were looking for to make a decision (window appearance, installation quality, brand, warranty, etc). He then said that he was going to have us rate him and each aspect from 1-10 and tell him a yes or no tonight. That was strike one for him since we refuse to cowtow to pushy sales. We flat out let him know that we wouldn't rate him nor would we tell him yes or no tonight. He did -not- like that response, but continued by asking "what was it we were looking for in the windows." That was strike two. We'd already given him pretty detailed information on what it was we were looking for. Strike three was the fact that we said "We'd like to see the windows and will decide from there. We don't have 2 hours and aren't interested in sitting through a 2 hours sales pitch." He then shrugged and said "You have to get behind the car to drive." Not sure exactly what that mean, but the meeting was over at that point. The fact is that we've seen a number of window companies -- they all have the same basic premise, but differentiate in a. how they deal with customers, b. the information that they give regarding their specs, and c. what their windows look like. Shining a red light through glass, standing on the glass, etc which are all the standard "sales tactics" are the same company to company to company and are simply smoke and mirrors. This company was, for all appearances, no different in that nature. As we had him leave, he said "I train sales people and this is how we do it." My response, although unspoken, was "So do I. And I guarantee the company I do sales training for is bigger and more successful than yours." It wasn't appropriate to say, so I didn't, but perhaps I should have.

They put on the patio cover, and used our existing pillars (saving them money to buy new ones). It was ugly and I had to get them to come back several times for cosmetics. It also leaks, but they blame that on "pre-existing" problems (it never leaked before). I had a roofer come out and he said they built it wrong. They won't come repair it and we now learned that the lifetime warranty is only on materials. The wooden beam that holds the whole thing up will rot due to the leak. Home Depot said they'd replace the beam when it does rot, but we will have to pay to get it replace.
Description of Work: They extended our patio by 8 feet. We were stupid enough to pay too much in the first place, but we expected the work to look like the photos they showed us and to be of good quality. Especially since Home Depot has their warranty.

we have tried to set up a meeting with this customer and their roofer. it only took about 3 weeks to get them to call us back. If you look at the pictures they have posted you can see what condition their deck is in. the side skirting you see in the picture that is coming apart is where part of their leak is coming from. the rest of the leak is coming from the defective construction of the railing on the deck above the patio cover we installed non of which was installed by Statewide Remodeling. but now their problems are our fault. They failed to mentioned they signed a completion form saying they where happy with the work when the job was complete. the beam they referance that we did not do to save money was per their request & they where not charged for it. they also failed to mentioned that we went back and added the beam for FREE they are the ones that saved the money. they even admit the price stayed the same but failed to mention that extra work was done. Their advice is for us to go out of business? That makes sense then they would have no warranty. i tried to call the customer again today when the lady answered her phone and i identified myself she said she was not interested and hung up on me. we have a satisfaction guarentee and stand behind it 100% but we do not guarentee other peoples work or existing problems on a customers house we will always work with them to try & correct their problems but in my opinion we should not be accused of poor workmanship when it is not ours Frank Manzare VP/Partner

Company used young men as independent contractors to install. They were smokers and smoked in the house while on the job, until I requested they stop. However, they were very nice and obliging. The weather stripping popped out and screens needed replacing within a year. When I called, they dodged coming out again with some lame excuse I barely remember. I had to laugh when, the following year, I received a survey asking if we had been pleased with their work in the past. I called again and this time they did come out to replace the screens etc. While there, I requested another estimate for the living room windows. They never called me back....? So, I have given up on Statewide.

Following a kitchen remodel and new patio addition, we needed a patio cover. Satewide Remodeling offered what we were looking for. A representative, David Castillo, visited on a pre-arranged date/time and provided very professional advice. We contracted with them on June 24. Perry Taylor and other phone representatives were very helpful in scheduling the job. The materials arrived this past week and the install took place yesterday and today, July 6-7. Jimmy Stewart did the install by himself and did a magnificent job. He worked diligently in the heat of the day and was meticulous to a fault! He made every effort to work with a new patio that was not exactly even! The electrician, Jose Torres, arrived on the second day to install the fan and he also gave some helpful advice concerning the positioning of the fan on a slightly slanted cover. Jimmy swept and washed the patio after finishing the job. And...he became fast friends with our dog as did David and Jose!
Description of Work: Statewide Remodeling was contracted to build a new patio cover for our new existing patio. It was completed in two days by one person. An electrician was sent by the company to install the ceiling fan once the cover was in place.

Terrible! Statewide Remodeling didn't show for a scheduled appointment; didn't know what they were doing, and attempted to charge over twice the cost of another reputable, established company who eventually did the job and a great one!
Description of Work: Arranged for appointment with Statewide Remodeling company rep at Sam's Club on Bryant Irvin Rd in Fort Worth to get estimate to replace hail-damaged insulated roof on our large screen room. No one showed for the appointment. Called and found that the Sam's Club rep never turned in the appointment. Made new appointment. Company rep didn't seem to know much about replacing the screen room roof. He took some basic measurements and gave me an estimate of $12,500. (The entire screen room cost $4200 in 1995). He spent most of the time telling me about his medical problems. I contacted another company for an estimate--Coleman Co of Fort Worth who has been in business for many years in Fort Worth gave me an estimate of $6200! They also advised that, contrary to the Statewide Remodeling rep, my existing skylights could not be used. He was right--they were glued into the roof! The Statewide rep stated "no problem, we can do that." Statewide Remodeling gave me an estimate of TWICE the cost of another very reputable company! Coleman did the job right away at a reasonable cost and did a beautiful job--and, oh yeah--the $6200 cost included two brand new glass skylights! BEWARE OF STATEWIDE REMODELING!! GET AT LEAST THREE ESTIMATES IF YOU GET AN ESTIMATE FROM THIS COMPANY. I will NEVER call Statewide for anything ever again!!!!! I think the words are "attempted ripoff"!!!

I am glad you got what you needed and at a lower price than what was quoted by my company. I also apologize for our mistakes. we do make them sometimes. I can tell you that we do not replace roofs on existing structures that we did not originally build. the price quoted was probably to replace the whole structure and not just the roof. I am familiar with Coleman co. and they are a reliable company. We do sell products through our relationship with Sam's club that are not available to other Sunroom companies in our market. So there is some product difference. We have been Sam's club vendor of the year for several years and do millions of dollars of business through Sam's and have never had a service or pricing complaint. I am sorry you feel so strongly that you have accused my company of trying to rip you off. I can you assure we do not rip off anyone. I won't tell you there are not other companies who have cheaper pricing. We know what we are doing and do more business than any other company in our categories in Texas. We have been in business for 15 years and do thousand's of jobs yearly with few complaints. Thanks Frank Manzare VP/Partner

My wife was approached at the Home Depot at Central Xpressway and 14th street by a Statewide Remodeling sales rep. We had them come out and signed with them to attach two patio covers to our house-one on the side and one in the rear. Statewide tried to change plans but HOA forced them to comply with original approved plans. The cover attached by statewide is not aligned with roof of main house. It is at least 2 inches below original roof on one side. I told contractors that support beam looked too low before they covered it. They then covered over this mess anyway with the worst shingling job I have ever seen. My roof now looks like the aftermath of a hurricane strike. I have repeatedly informed them of the problem but they have yet to fix or repair this disaster. Several of my neighbors are complaining because it looks so bad. They had a gutter guy come out and install gutters last week. The gutters are sagging severely at two different spots. We have had to constantly call and ask them when they were going to complete ever phase of the work because they do not tell us anything and we have waited several weeks for work to be done with nothing happening. They bought large wooden beams and delivered them to our job but they were not used on our project. When I complained about them in my yard, they came and removed them. It is still ongoing with no resolution in sight. We signed up for this in May, 2008. They promised work to start in June. Work did not start until August and only with me pushing them to get started before the summer was over.
Description of Work: Installed two patio covers. One attached at one point to main house and the other filled in a U-shape opening and attaches to house around the U-shaped opening. Absolutely no planning. Electrical wiring was stubbed in wrong place by subcontractors so electrician had to cut a hole in our ceiling to get to electrical boxes. Statewide is suppose to cover hole but it is still open.

I PERSONALLY SPOKE TO THIS CUSTOMER. ALL PROJECTS ARE SUBMITTED TO HOA. IF ONE EXISTS, WE DO NOT ALTER PLANS UNLESS REQUESTED TO DO SO BY CUSTOMER & THAT IS SUBMITTED TO HOA & THE CITY FOR PERMITTING. IF THIS CUSTOMER HAS OPEN ISSUES, THEY NEED TO CONTACT OUR SERVICE DEPT TO GET THOSE ADDRESSED. WE DO NOT LIE TO CUSTOMERS. WE DO MAKE MISTAKES BECAUSE WE ARE HUMANS AND NOT PERFECT. WE DO HAVE A SATISFACTION GUARANTEE. IF THESE PEOPLE HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE I WONDER WHY THEY DIDN'T ASK ABOUT THAT? I AM SORRY THEY HAD SUCH A BAD EXPERIENCE. WE HAVE INSTALLED SEVERAL THOUSAND PATIO PROJECTS OVER THE YEARS. OUR BBB RECORD IS OUTSTANDING & WE HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL AWARDS FOR OUR BUSINESS PRACTICES. WE DO NOT CHANGE OUR PRICES ONCE A CONTRACT IS SIGNED. SO THE COMMENT HERE THAT THE FINAL PRICE WAS HIGHER THAN THE WRITTEN ESTIMATE IS INCORRECT. FRANK MANZARE CO-OWNER

They added a roof over the existing roof and charged me over $11,000.00. I thought it was a rip off then and now. The service technician did not do a good job and had to come back. He was not happy about it. The Supervisor was helpful and helped the tech redo part of the roof. I think that if a company can not handle a job they should be honest and upfront with their abilities. I felt as though I was working for them and not me. The installer tech was not good at all.
Description of Work: They remodeled our old porch and windows and designed a sunroom 9 ft. wide and 40 ft. long.

We are unhappy. We were told to take down the blinds ourselves so that they did not break anything and then put them back up ourselves. The new windows were about 1/2 inch deeper than the ones removed and thus the blinds did not fit back in correctly. They were clever to get us to initial several paragraphs when we ordered the windows, including one that said they did not guarantee the window coverings would fit after replacement. We ordered the windows and then a couple weeks later they came out to measure, so we could not have known at the time of this issue. This has to be a common problem, but they avoid direct discussion of it until it was too late. I paid the final installment when they were finished but before I could re-install the blinds.
Description of Work: Statewide Remodeling replaced 10 widows that were original to the home with Anderson brand widows.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND? THIS CUSTOMER SAYS WE TRICKED THEM ABOUT BLIND FITMENT BUT AT THE SAME TIME WE TOLD THEM THERE MIGHT BE AN ISSUE? ALSO WHAT DOES THIS ONE ISSUE HAVE TO DO WITH PRICE, QUALITY, RESPONSEVINESS, PUNCTULLATY & PROFESSIONALISM? THIS IS NOT A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT IT DOES HAPPEN USUALLY ON PLANTATION SHUTTERS. THIS PROBLEM CAN HAPPEN WITH ANY BRAND WINDOWS FROM ANY COMPANY. BUT WE GET AN F OVERALL BECAUSE THIS CUSTOMER DIDN'T DO THEIR HOMEWORK? WHY DIDN'T THEY QUESTION THE SALESPERSON OR THE INSTALLER WHEN THEY DID THE MEASURING? WHY DIDN'T THEY CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE & LOG A COMPLAINT? I AM A PARTNER & FOUNDER OF THIS COMPANY & THEY TOOK THE TIME TO WRITE THIS COMPLAINT THAT IN MY OPINION HAS NO MERIT BUT WON'T TAKE THE TIME TO PICK UP THE PHONE & CALL THE OWNER. WHAT DOES THIS ISSUE HAVE TO DO WITH RESPONSIVENESS? TO MY KNOWLEDGE THEY NEVER ASKED FOR A RESPONSE TO ANYTHING! FRANK MANZARE VP/PARTNER

The original call I placed to Statewide was returned the next business morning. He told me this was covered under the lifetime warranty and that he would have the installer give me a call. It took a couple of days for the installer to contact me but he did assure me he would be out to take a look at it. He called me at work when he arrived to say that it wasn't siding that fell off but actually part of the trim of the roof. He did go ahead and nail it back up so that I didn't have to pay to have a roofer come out to the house. With so many companies, the normal line I hear is ''that's not our job'' and then I have to waste time and money getting someone else to come out. I really appreciated Statewide's assistance in this matter and all at no charge. You can't beat that!!
Description of Work: I had siding put on my house in November 2004. Last week on a particular windy day, I came home to discover two strips of siding in the front yard. I called to see if they could come out and reattach it to the house.
