It was great, they power washed the house, repaired wood, ,primed and painted.

They did a beautiful job. They went above our expectations. They were friendly and I looked forward to them coming in the morning. They were courteous in my home. They even did some extra little jobs here and there. They were not the cheapest but they were beyond worth it and very efficient.

Having our house painted was a nearly-painless process with Southern Painting. They were extremely detailed, excellent with communication and quality workmanship. They worked when possible between inclement weather and always continually communicated the plan and expectations for the project considering the hurdles. They used top quality Sherwin Williams paint and the excess was left for touch-ups (but haven't needed any). They worked extremely hard to make sure our desires were met and we were happy with the final product. Their cleanup was perfect. There was one oversight on their part related to painting an exterior door. When I brought it to their attention once the project was complete, they came out right away to fix the issue. Overall, it was a better experience than I expected. They are the best contractors we have ever worked with. They are extremely professional.

They also came out for walk thru with a painter to fix some minor spots that needed a second coat, but understandable as the colors were dark to light.

All the works was done on time and to my standards.

I was so impressed with the customer service this company provides. All of their communications and attention to detail really made me feel like a valued customer --- not a common thing these days! They responded quickly to my inquiry, set up an appointment for an estimate right away, which they confirmed the night before. (Note: the day of the appointment, the weather was terrible and they had to cancel, but they got in touch with us right away and rescheduled.) Once we had the estimate and chose this contractor, they were able to schedule the work very quickly, again called to confirm the night before, and sent an ARMY (OK... seven or eight guys, but it felt like an army!) to knock out the job in only two days. They did a very nice job on all the texturing and painting... it wasn't the most complicated job ever, but it had a few quirks, and they handled it beautifully. The crew was very friendly and took care to protect our home with lots of masking, and left a clean, fresh space when they were done. I really couldn't be happier. They were not the cheapest estimate we got, but you do get what you pay for, so we are glad we went with them. I'm already planning my next project, and they will be my first call!

Jon Box was very helpful and prompt and returning my call and setting up an appointment that worked for both of us. His quote was about $1000 less than another top rated Angie's provider and we decided to use him. The men who showed up to do the work were professional, clean and finished the job within the time promised. It went very smoothly and we had no issues whatsoever. I was really excited about hiring Southern Painting after meeting with Mark, whom I really liked. He impressed me with his presentation. The pricing didn't seem to be too much more than another estimate we received, so we decided to hire Southern based on this meeting and the Angie's list ratings and comments. The first issue we had was some misunderstanding/ miscommunication about the texture on the bedroom walls. At the end of the first work day, they didn't texture the walls (still had the 1970s crow's feet) and when I asked about it, I found out it wasn't included in the initial estimate, even though Mark and I discussed what type of texture I would like. Maybe I should have noticed the absence of it on the proposal, but I thought it was included and thus disappointed that it wasn't included and I ended up having to pay more to have it done. The exterior portion of the job was good, no complaints there. But the interior was a real disappointment. The attention to detail that I expected was absent - there were many spots that were missed, the wall color mixed in with some of the trim, very poor job on cutting in (the wall paint was consistently slopped on the edge of the crown moulding and parts of the baseboards and other edges). When they painted the closet and entry door, they missed the edges and had many "holidays". They got paint on the outlets (they didn't tape off everything and when they did, they still got paint on the plug portion and didn't wipe it off). There were other instances of sloppiness, and we felt like we didn't get the professional job we paid for. The foreman left one painter by himself, a younger guy who didn't speak English very well, and I'm not sure he was experienced or should have been left to himself to paint. I tried to point out some problem areas to him, but clearly he didn't understand me. Also, when they came back the third day after waiting for the texture on the walls to dry so they could paint, they didn't cover the flooring or couch and got a few spots of trim paint on the couch and carpet, but fortunately the spots came out with some scrubbing. I was very happy the first day when they covered everything and put down paper to walk on from the outside to the bedroom, but this was not done on the last day. We had to point out problem areas multiple times, which shouldn't have been necessary. Even after trying to rectify the situation, it still wasn't at the level we expected but we were pressed for time in completing the room because our cellular shades needed to be installed and we grew weary off trying to point out every issue, so I guess we decided to settle for mediocre. I know the manager was aware of our disappointment since I talked to him on the phone, so we were surprised we never got a follow up call after the job was completed to see if our issues were corrected. We never got an apology either, which I think was in order for not meeting our expectations. Finally, they used our vacuum cleaner to clean up and they messed it up with all the pieces of popcorn and texture - it doesn't work like it used to, so we need to buy another one - they probably should have used one of their own to clean up. We will not hire them again.

Well - I reached out to Southern Painting for my painting needs after reading the reviews on here, however, my experience has not been very well with them. I submitted an online request for a paint job for my new home. As per their notes on their website, since no one contacted in the next two days - I called their customer service number who forwarded the call to the local office based on my zipcode. The phone doesnt event ring - it just goes to the automated message - LEAVE A MESSAGE

Our house is older and the paint was well over 15 years old. It was peeling all the way around. When bidding it out all vendors stated they would sand it down, something I specifically asked for. Jon from Southern Painting came out and drafted an estimate. It included repairing some damaged wood, reglazing all the windows, painting concrete patio and sanding/scraping all before applying a colored primer and a finish coat. The original quote did not include my shed. After talking to Jon he said I get a discount for being on Angie's List and he would paint the shed for the cost of that discount. The price was in the middle of the 3 quotes we got, so we decided to go with Southern. Once agreed upon we were scheduled within 2 weeks to start. The team showed up on time and started working immediately. The crew that came out was very polite and worked each day until dark, or slightly thereafter. Work was progressing along and on the 3rd or 4th day they started to apply the colored primer. I could see, before they got all the way around there was old paint still remaining. There was very visible paint underneath the primer and what looked like a reptile skin belt. I called Jon that night and asked if they were planning on removing the paint underneath. Jon said that is not what Southern does. He explained that is a total restoration. Not being in the painting business, I said okay. Looking back I should have stopped the work there. Work progressed and the primer and finish coat were applied. All the trim was painted. The painters did come back a couple times to make corrections to the paint or repair the glaze on the window that was coming off. All in all the house looks good from the road, but if you come up to it there is visible bumps and "scales" in the paint. There are numerous "hangers" (paint tails sticking out from the wood) on all sides of the house. Paint has started to come up on the patio in a couple spots. I have not called back to try and have the paint touched up, because without the scaling or hangers being fixed the house will require a total painting again to look right. I would not recommend Southern Painting to any friends or family in the area if the job requires more than just spraying on some coats of paint.

Eddie at the Southlake location returned our call promptly, came out for an estimate and got us on the schedule pretty quickly. (We wanted it done soon but weren't in a big rush.) They arrived on time, went over the work with us and the crew, got the crew started and then checked back in later. The crew was efficient, neat, and pleasant. At first the paint color wasn't quite right as they were matching our 10 year old ceiling paint. We didn't notice, but Phil did and went back to the paint store and had it corrected. We were very happy and have used them once again since.

We did not use this company. We did meet them for a quote to paint the interior of my home. The person who came smelled like they just smoked a pack of cigarettes. It was rather overwhelming. They did however arrive on time. The following reasons why I did not choose Southern Painting is I asked if the people working in my home would speak English the answer was a not a definitive yes. For me being able to communicate with all persons working in my home makes me feel more comfortable. I would prefer to pay more and communicate clearly with all the painters doing the work. Based on other reviews I have read you do pay more, but no guarantees. I have since found a painter that can provide that service.

Excellent. Very quick response time & highest quality workmanship

Everything about the quote process was excellent. The man who came out was on time. He was professional on how he dealt with everything. He was very good. He came out on the time that he said that he would. He was very thorough on looking at what needed to be done and so on. I think that he also got the estimate to us within 24 hours. The only reason why we did not go with him was because of the price since it was higher than the price of the other company that came out.

The job went extremely well. I called Jon to set up an estimate and he returned my call in a timely manner and I had an estimate in my mailbox within a few days. A week later we hired them. We did so because Jon provided the most detailed estimate of all the companies we contacted. They were able to start the work within about seven days after we hired them. Jon said that the job would take about three days, but I think they did have to come back a fourth day to finish which was no big deal to us. Jon was very professional and his crew chief was knowledgable, experienced painter who spoke both English and Spanish. When they were finished they cleaned up very well and left no sign that they were even there. The one special aspect of the job was our double-hung windows. The windows were new and we specifically asked Jon if his crew had experience painting those windows so they would not be painted shut. After the windows were painted they did stick and were difficult to open. When we notified Jon about this he came to the location personally and unstuck the windows for us and the windows now work just fine. Now, even two months after the job, Jon is assisting us by workiing with our insurance company to give them the information they need so that we can gain some reimbursement for the paint job. I would highly recommend this paint company.

Repaired drywall cracks and texture. Painted ceilings and walls. Painted designated baseboards, jams & doors. Showed up when stated. Completed work in time stated. Overall very satisfied with work done.

After a recent terrible experience with a painter recommended by a homebuilder friend who tried to rip us off, I turned to Angie's List to try and find a professional painting company to paint the interior of our new 2900 sq ft house. I spent a lot of time reading reviews and finally settled on calling Jon Box at Southern Painting. I am glad that I did. From the first phone call throughout the entire painting process, Jon was extremely accommodating, accessible, and professional. The painting team was highly skilled, professional, clean, and fast. We had them remove upper trim from several of the rooms and repair the walls and their drywall work was top notch. The pricing was very reasonable even using top of the line no VOC Sherwin Williams paints. I highly recommend Job Box's Southern Painting and plan on using them in the spring for some exterior work.

Very professional and responsive. After 3 months I noticed a small problem and they took care of it immediately. Would use again.

I sent an email through Angie's List and received a phone call back within 1 business day. However, I was not in this estimator's zone and had to be passed off to the person that handled Garland, Rowlett, Rockwall. That person called me back within another business day and then scheduled my estimate for the next Tuesday. So Thursday to Tuesday, not bad. Sky arrived on time, was helpful. The primary contact that received my information from Angie's list did not forward all of my information to him, so I re-outlined my scope of work. He had me a quote by the end of the day. I felt very comfortable with this company and they were my second choice to do the work. The only negative comment I have to say is that my quote did not include the Angie's List discount. I have no doubt that if I had brought the oversight to his attention he would have revised my quote. At that point I had made my decision so it was immaterial, but I always appreciate when they remember to ask how you got their name and if you have a coupon/discount.

We are familiar with Southern Painting from previous work they did and would have hired them again without hesitation. However, their estimate was quite a bit above the one we chose, so this time went a different direction. Still would always give them a chance to bid on any painting work in the future.

Very high quality work. The sales person who quoted did a careful assessment of the exterior and quoted only those areas that really needed touch-up. There was no attempt to up-sell or over-scope the job. The painters tried to match the interior trim for the windows but got the color wrong. When challenged, they redid that work with the right color. I think the lead painter should have caught the color match issue himself. Other than that, the quality of the work was excellent, the painters were careful inside and out, and cleaned up their work area. We are very happy with the result and feel like we received fair value for the money.

Went well, finished ahead of schedule.
