Services were never delivered. I called and emailed the guy and after a second round of calls he set up an appointment to come look at the chair later that day. I provided the address and he never showed up never called to reschedule - haven't heard from him since. He even confirmed after i sent him the text with my address which is strange. I find this surprising since he has this Angies list super service award. what gives Larry?

We have no record of establishing an appointment with this customer. I am not sure what he is thinking, but our schedule and call log show no confirmation of confirming an appointment with him. Customers often call several companies to shop around. If he spoke to someone other than me I was never given the message or any other information. These things happen in a month when our appointment time is in high demand because our quality work is well known. If he is still interested in our services please call me directly and I will provide our free evaluation as I do not have his phone number.

Ultimately the damage was too minor and provided a specially formulated conditioner. Mentioned that he could fix it but due to the way the leather was made and how minor the scuffs were he didn't recommend re dying. It was very clear that the company has integrity in mind and more concerned with giving honest and educated opinions versus selling a a service that wasn't needed but a viable solution. I will use them if something is ever significant worse but I highly recommend.

I called Larry at Precision Leather Restoration because my dog had scratched a leather chair trying to bury her bone in it. Also, our leather couch had splatter-looking spots on the sides. He asked me to text pictures of the damage so he could determine if it could be repaired. He responded immediately and made an appointment to come out to see the furniture the following Monday. He gave us a quote and returned the next Monday to do the repair in our home. It took him about an hour and a half, and the furniture looks brand new. I would definitely use Precision Leather Restoration again and would recommend their services.

He covered everything around his working area and took his time to do a great job. I have 2 friends that have used him and rave about him and I've already started recommending him.

I wish I had taken a before and after picture because it truly was an amazing transformation. My leather sofa and chairs were structurally sound but the leather was showing it's age (18!!!). Precision Leather Restoration stained all the scratches and worn areas. The stain color matches perfectly and my furniture looks new again. Plus I'd like to add that Larry was great to work with. Very punctual, professional and extremely nice.

They did a great job. First of all, the reconditioning and dye work looks wonderful. They did a wonderful job matching the color of the rest of the leather. Color was even, reconditioned leather looked much improved. They were very professional in all aspects of the job. Right on time for all their appointments - see the work and give a quote, pick up the cushions and return the finished product. Turn around time was short. Price was what they quoted and seemed reasonable to me. I am very happy with their work and would recommend them to a friend.

Mr. Klein called me the same day I e-mailed him to inquire about his service. We discussed the repair needed, he quoted a price, and an appointment was set. Mr. Klein called me the day of the appointment and had to reschedule for the next day due to a family emergency. Mr. Klein arrived promptly and did a beautiful job restoring an approximately quarter-size spot on a leather couch cushion where the color was accidently bleached. He was pleasant, efficient, professional, and the bill was exactly as he had previously quoted. This was a good experience and I am very pleased with the work he did. I would definitely recommend Mr. Klein and use him again for any future leather restoration.

it didn't go that well. I would not use that company
Description of Work: Called two times, left a message, no response. Finally I reached Larry directly, I described my damaged leather couch and received a rude comment that usually its not considered badly damaged. I mentioned that is damaged to me. He asked to text him a picture. But the tone of the conversation and his attitude made me reconsider, and find another company to help me.

When customers call us to obtain quotes and discuss their leather damage we go through a series of questions so that we can advise the caller correctly. When we feel the details given to us are not sufficient we as for a photo of the damage so that we are accurate in our evaluation. Most customers have the patience for this process and a few do not. Those customers press us for answers that we cannot provide without seeing a photo. Quick inaccurate answers are not part of our DNA as a company. All of our 40 plus A rated reviews are a result of providing a high level of quality work based on mutual cooperation with customers.

Larry came over the same day I called at 1:40 to give me a free estimate and see the sofa. He wasn?t able to repair it that day as he had some other clients to attend to, but he was able to come out today. He showed up ten minutes early and re-explained what the repair will entail. I also asked him to look over a matching loveseat to see if there were other possible damages that needed repair. He had everything he needed within his truck, covered all of the furniture so nothing would be stained, and it only took him an hour to finish the job. Larry was very nice and allowed me to watch as I just think it?s fascinating to watch people work and to learn something. He told me not to have anyone sit on the sofa, even the arm, to allow it to complete curing the repair. I found the price very reasonable and he even gave me the 10% senior discount. Larry has been in the business for some time, very professional, and extremely nice. I liked him a lot and recommend him to friends too!

Called the company about 3 weeks ago, talked with Larry, who said to email him pics of the sofa. I did that on Feb 20, but didn't hear back from him, so I emailed him asking if he got the pictures. 3 days later, he emailed me back, advising that he would have to come out to see the sofa in person, and asked (again) where I lived. I responded. Never heard back. I contacted him again. 2 days later, he finally responded, asking me what city I lived in AGAIN (FOR THE 3RD TIME). I responded AGAIN with the information he requested, and asked that he call me directly if he had any more questions. My last email to him was on Feb 27. No response since then. I've also tried calling directly, and no answer. This is now March 5. Either he's way too busy or doesn't know how to handle his business - I don't know, but I will avoid him now regardless because if I can't even get him to call me back on a sales call, what's it going to be like if I actually use him and have a customer service issue??

Unknow to this customer I have been caring for a vey sick relative in Michigan who has no other family except for me. I have been spending half my time in Michigan while tyring to take care of our customers back in Dallas. It was not our intention to make this customer feel we did not want to service her. I tried to communicate as best I could via email without having all my files with me so all we can do is apologize.

We contracted with Precision Leather Restoration (Larry Klein) to refinish two leather recliners. These recliners were a light-colored leather, and after 12 years they had discoloration marks on the headrests. In addition, one of the chairs had an ink stain, also on the headrest. Larry assured me that although he could not stain the chairs a darker color, he could remove the stains and bring back the original color. The price quoted, at $495/chair, was high, but Larry was confident that we would get another 12 years out of these chairs. Larry told me that he "knew" the original color of these chairs, and that matching it would be no problem. After a couple of reschedules on Larry's side, he finally showed up to work on the chairs. He sped thru them in 4 hrs flat, and told me not to use them for 24 hrs. Apparently Larry did not "know" the original color. He got it into his head that the chairs had been sun-bleached. How wrong he was - that pale color was the original, and he attempted to cover them with a darker color. He did not clean out the ink stain, nor did he properly clean the discolored areas. This color-glo product is not a stain, rather it is a coating, and if the underlying leather is not properly cleaned and prepped, it will not adhere. I had to call him out a second time to clean out the ink stain, and also to repair one of the chairs where his "coating" was already peeling off. Well, I guess he did the best he could in 4 hrs, but that was just not enough time to properly refinish two chairs. The second time he did get the ink stain out. Now, 7 months later, the "coating" is peeling off of one chair in multiple places. In addition, this coating remains tacky feeling, and is nothing like the original leather. The chairs are ruined. Rather than waste our money on this scam, we should have spent it towards replacing the chairs. Let me state this again so that there is no mistake - the chairs are both ruined. We want a refund from Precision Leather Restoration - they did not do what they claimed. I wish I could upload pictures to show you the mess that Larry Klein made of these nice recliners. Do not use this service! After Mr Klein's response below, I am compelled to answer. (1) The cushions on our chairs do not come up or off, so he certainly did not find a darker leather color under the cushion, (2) Our home did not have bay windows, (3) The chairs NEVER sat in direct sunlight - never (4) He did indeed explain the tackiness as related to skin oil - after he was called back to remove the ink stain. He never explained up-front that the chair finish would be significantly degraded after his procedure. In fact, he kept repeating that we would get another 12 years of service out of those chairs. (5) Mr Klein neglects to note that once he rescheduled because the temperature got cold, and another time he rescheduled because he "felt like he was going to come down with a cold". (6) The area on the recliner where Mr Klein's coating is peeling off is not on the headrest, is not part of the skin oil issue. There is an area on the seat cushion, and an area on part of the leg-rest where the coating is just peeling away. (7) I did not call Mr Klein a third time to address the shortcomings, because I saw on the first call-back that he just sprays more coating on the affected area. The real problem IS the coating. (8) Mr Klein never suggested recovering any parts of the chairs. Never. Again, he stressed that we would get another good 12 yrs service out of those chairs. (9) Mr Klein's response is geared more towards damage control than actually addressing the issue. I note that he did not respond to my request for a refund.

[removed member name] like all our customers was provided a written quote detailing exaclty what services would be provided to his furniture. His quote states "restore color." We made an appointment after our initial evaluation and due to rain we had to rescedule twice as we had told Mr. Dorris we would want to do this project outside. His portrayal of us finally showing up is just not true and he knows that. When we evaluted the chairs we turned over the cushions and found the backside to be darker than the front side. We pointed this out to Mr. Dorris and stated this can only happen from direct UV exposure to the leather. This visual proof by itself tells us the color has been bleached out by the sun. There is no other explanantion. These chairs were sitting in front of a large bay window with direct sunlight covering the chairs for what I would say is several hours per day and also is proof that the color had been bleached. In addition, the leather was severly dried out from daily exposure to direct UV rays. When we touched the leather the feel of the outer layer is unmistakeable to us from sun damage. This severely dried out leather was not properly maintained for the 12 years Mr. Dorris has owned the chairs. The leather had not been moisturuzied on a regular schedule; every six to eight weeks. Dried out leather accelerates the wear on the surface of the leather and degrades the fibers in the leather closing up the pores which is how the dye enters the leather when we do our work. We have no way of knowing just how severe the sun damage is until we start working with it. The head rest areas on both chairs suffered from 12 years of scalp oil accumulation. We explained that our products can only remove the oil that is on the outer side of the leather and not the oil saturation that is down in the leather. We explained to Mr. Dorris that there is a chemisty issue with scalp oil and leather dye and these areas may have problems because the oil will not allow the leather dye to bond properly to the leather. We did not put the oil there so we could only try our best to work with it. We suggested recovering the head rest areas, a service we do not offer, but could refer an upholsterer if need be. He chose not to do that. Our leather dye is a water based pigmented product and can be called a stain, but that word is more often used in stainig wood and is not part of our language. We dye customers leather with the same dyes used at the tanneries where hides are processed. The only difference is the tanneries dye the hides in vats or barrels, but the dyes are the same. When we were contacted by Mr, Dorris to remove a small amount of ink we missed and touch up one of the head rest areas we again explained the sclap oil issue as it relates to leather dyes; not compatible. The proof of this is how the leather feels - tacky as he described which means the oil from down in the leather is the culprit. We told Mr. Dorris that when using the chairs covering the head rest area must be done to stop the oil from accmulating even more and effecting the work we had done. Some customers follow our advice and some do not at their own risk. Out of the 40 reviews of acutal work we have done on Angie's List I can assure you we have worked with scalp oil issues and there has been no reports going back to 2009 of any problems so we know those customers followed our advice. Mr. Dorris makes a comment about the time we spent working on his chairs and based on his lack of knowlege about restoring the color to leather we do not know what his point is. We follow a strict process and there are no short cuts. After we returned to remove the 1/4 inch ink spot Mr. Dorris has not contacte us again during the last seven months. From our perspective the fastest way to correct any problem is communication. We are very repsonsive to every customer we have done work for so I do not know why Mr. Dorris made the decison not to call us. From the address I see in this review Mr. Dorris has relocated to another city some 200 miles from our office. Again, I do not know why Mr. Dorris chose not to call us to have us come back out to address any issue he has expressed, but now we are not in a position to correct any of these minor problems that are corretable.

We had two leather chairs that had taken a beaten from cats using the backs as a launching pad, and some bigger scratches on the seats from dog chasing after them a few times. They looked like they were ruined for sure? Larry came out and gave us instant confidence that they both could be repaired easily. His estimate was extremely fair, especially considering the damage. Compared to having to replace the chairs all together, his price was a steal. He arrived on time, and gave an exact duration of how long he would need to complete the job. Our painters this summer could take a few lessons from Larry on the care he took to protect our floors and furniture, and the care he took to clean up everything afterwards. The repairs are amazing. The chairs look better than brand new? I wish I would've taken before and after pictures just to be able to show off his work. We hope to not need to call for leather repairs again, but if need be, we will definitely use only Larry.

We had guests with small children who managed to get pizza sauce and grease all over one of the ottomans belonging to our Natuzzi nubuck leather sofa and chair sets. Larry Klein responded promptly and provided an estimate to clean the leather. When he noticed the other ottoman had a broken caster, he volunteered to take it to be repaired and clean it also. He worked quickly and when he returned both ottomans, they looked fabulous. You can't even tell which ottoman was stained. I would highly recommend Larry to anyone needing leather cleaned, dyed and/or repaired.

My favorite leather chair and ottoman was severely sun damaged. It is 12 years old and Larry restored it to like new condition. The color match to the existing leather that was not damaged is amazing. I would highly recommend this company. I thought I would have to replace the chair but for under $400 I have a chair that looks brand new. Larry is professional and knowledgable and showed me how to care for the restored chair and other leather items in our house. I'm a happy customer!

I tried to get a confirmed date for Larry to repair my leather car seat for over 3 weeks. Each time he told me to call back later to make an appointment. I called him and texted him approximately 8 times before ever getting close to a confirmed appointment. I found him to be extremely unprofessional about scheduling and responding to communications. I have never reviewed a service provider before on Angie's List because they have all been excellent. Perhaps Larry is terrific when he shows up. The problem is getting him to do so. I went with another Leather repair provider who is not listed on Angie's List and was very pleased with the responsiveness and services provided.

Every customer is entitled to an opinion, but they are not entitled to make up the facts. Our company is always booked up for two to three weeks out. The only confirmed appointment we had with this customer was for Oct. 21, at 9 AM. We received a text from them at 8:35 AM on the day of the scheduled appointment informing us they were cancelling the appointment. Prior to that by his own words he confirms we did not have a confirmed appointment with him so I can only assume he felt he was more important than all the customers who we had scheduled appointments with that are all quite willing to wait for us to restore their leather because our reviews clearly speak for themselves. This review is a personal issue by the customer for reasons only he knows.

Larry just left, and I couldn't be happier. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and proud of what he does. The furniture looks like it did when we first purchased it. I didn't even realize how faded and worn it had become. The surface that you sit on was looking like it was starting to crack. It has been dyed and feels so moisturized now. Very, very soft. He supplied me with the proper moisturizer and products to keep it all looking just like he has it looking now. I recommend him highly. You will not regret using his services.

Larry was truly a professional. He came to our home, picked up our cushions and took them with him to restore them. He returned a few days later as scheduled with the cushions done and finished the rest of the furniture at our home in a couple of hours. He also took the time to show us how to maintain the leather. We are absolutely thrilled with the results, our furniture looks as good as it did the day we bought it.
Description of Work: We had a leather couch and leather chair dyed to restore to original condition.
