Description of Work: They walked up to my house and said they provided a home security system. We had some vandalism in our neighborhood, so I thought it was a good idea. The equipment was free. There was a $50 per month monitoring fee for 5 years. The installation went smoothly. The equipment was cheap and unreliable. I got an unexpected visit from the police due to the alarm going off because I had the FOB in my pocket. Shortly there after, we moved to a gated community. I tried to get the next owners to take over the monitoring, but they declined. I didn't feel I needed the service in my new home & tried to cancel it. That's where the fun started. After numerous phone calls & letters, I ended having to pay 85% of the remaining monitoring fee.

Description of Work: I was talked into leaving adt and go with monitronics. They promised 2 key chain remotes, only got 1. They conveniently did not mentioned that I needed a county license to have an alarm system and I had to pay a fine, plus the cost of the license. I'm just waiting for my 2 year contract to be up so I can switch to ADT

Description of Work: My 17-year-old alarm system failed. Monitronics did on-phone troubleshooting and ended up replacing the system. It took three reps to finally get more than basic troubleshooting, and the local install company was booked for about a week ahead. The installer was great, but the system he installed was not exactly what Monitronics led me to believe would be installed. It is functional, and I chose not to follow up with Monitronics because it was too much effort to get through the maize to someone who could/would actually help me. My basic service is good, and I will still give them a B.

Description of Work: I set up alarm services with them and Alliance as they work in tandem, we agreed upon a contract of payment. Almost immediately they billed me twice for the first month, which was supposed to be free. I straightened this out with them and even spoke to a manager multiple times confirming no money was owed, yet they continued to call me about owing them money daily. I finally stopped payment as this was such a nightmare and wish I had stuck with my previous company.

Description of Work: I got the system installed and then three days later this warning sign popped up that was an orange caution sign with an exclamation point in it. So, I called them and I said something's wrong, someone needs to come out. The guy, when he showed up was dressed for church, not dressed for the job. He did not want to get in my crawlspace because I'm afraid of mice and I wanted him to check for them. He said, "Oh I'm afraid of mice too." He didn't want to wire the wires through the crawl space or the attic, so he went ahead and stable gunned them onto the mahogany floor boards. Every time I call this company, it's at least a 25 minute wait. They said that they used Alliance Security to run their show. He comes to fix it the next time and he fixes my machine, well on his way out, he trips the alarm and puts it on silence panic. I go outside to pick a couple flowers and break the seal of the silent alarm and then all of a sudden within five minutes my street is blocked off by homeland security. I've got paramedics, fire engines, police cars, cops all over the place. They didn't put sirens on because it was a silent panic alarm. I'm going to get sighted because of the false alarm now. The neighborhood I live in are going to fine me. I've called them at least ten times now. $250 they extorted from me to cancel a 36-month contract that they said I signed, but I have no paperwork for it.

Description of Work: I sold my house and only had a few months left on a long contract. Sent a letter as requested and still had to pay for the remaining time on my contract. Were high priced and not cooperative. Am still getting emails about my monitor showing a low battery level and cannot find out how to get them to stop. It is now August and I moved out of my house in May! Have sent replies to the emmail saying I am no longer there and they are ignored. Sloppy service all around! |
