+ -1 moreThe technicians who installed the system were outgoing and finished in less than ninety minutes. We received a discount for letting them put a sign in our front yard. This also helps maintain security, because it is very visible to anyone driving by our house. Monitronics is also less expensive than the larger, better known security companies. We have been very happy with their protection.

+ -1 moreMonitronics hooked up the alarm system at no cost. I just pay the monthly monitoring fee. They are professional and thorough. When the system was set off, they were prompt at calling. There was one problem when the alarm went off and it shouldn t have. I called them at three am and they showed up at nine am.
Description of Work: The technician came out and looked at the house and determined how to hook up the alarm system. He came back three days later and installed the system; censors and monitoring device.

+ -1 moreMonitronics Monitored Alarm Systems explained how the system worked and answered all the questions we had. They made sure we understood how it worked. They don't provide regular checkups on the system, but I know that if we called them they would be right over. We haven't had any problems with false alarms and everything is working properly.

Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED ALL OF THE CONTACT POINTS AND THE PANELS THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. THEY CHARGE ABOUT $28 A MONTH TO MONITOR THE SYSTEM.

+ -1 morePer their sales pitch the services are reasonably priced. However, we were extremely annoyed that they called so many times in a row (3 calls per night typically and, we had to repeat that we did not want their service 4 times before they quit calling. One of the people we told we did not want the service was the assistant manager - and they continued to call.
Description of Work: Spot Security started calling us right after we moved and got a new home phone number. We did not solicit their business and they repeatedly called us. We told them we did not want their service and they continued to call. It took us saying "no" FOUR times before they quit calling. Of course, because of caller ID we could tell when they were calling and did not answer the phone many times. It was not uncommon to receive 3 calls per evening after we got home from work.

+ -1 moreNO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I GAVE DETAILED DIRECTIONS, IN REGARDS TO WHEN TO DISPATCH (IE; WALK IN, SET OFF ALARM AND PUT IN CODE, WITHIN SECONDS; THEY STILL WOULD DISPATCH POLICE, EVEN WHEN I DISARMED WITH MY CODE. THEY HAVE WOKE PEOPLE ON MY CALL LIST, IN THE MIDDLE OF NIGHT, WHEN I WAS HOME AND I HAD DISARMED WITH MY CODE. I HAVE NEVER HAD A COMPANY THAT CAN NOT USE COMMON SENSE, AS MUCH AS THEM. AS SOON AS CONTRACT IS OVER, I WILL BE LOOKING ELSEWHERE.

+ -1 moreEVERYONE WITH THE COMPANY WAS FRIENDLY. THE INSTALLERS ARRIVED ON TIME, BUT DIDN'T SEEM AS KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT HOW TO INSTALL ITEMS AS I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. IT TOOK 3 DIFFERENT TECHNICIANS TO FINALLY HOOK MY CONTROL PANEL UP TO THE PHONE LINE. THE ALARM SYSTEM HAS WORKED QUITE WELL AND GIVES ME A SENSE OF SECURITY. I WOULD HESITATE TO HIRE THEM AGAIN UNLESS THEIR TECHNICIANS WERE BETTER TRAINED.
Description of Work: AN ALARM SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED TO MEET MY NEEDS. THE MAJORITY OF THE MATERIALS AND INSTALLATION WAS FREE AS LONG AS WE AGREED TO A 2-3 YEAR SERVICE PERIOD AT $35 PER MONTH. I CHOSE TO PAY EXTRA IN ORDER TO ADD A CO MONITOR AND WATER SENSOR NEAR OUR UPSTAIRS WASHING MACHINE.
