I really did like the employees. They were very knowledgeable and consistent. They did an extremely good job.

We used an AngiesList coupon. Unfortunately the new web site never contacted them, so they didn't contact us. After a month, we called them and they told us a number of new customers had recently contacted them with the same problem. After reaching them, they were very professional and courteous, they scheduled us very fast, the technician showed up on time and did a very thorough job, spraying not only inside but outside along the entire perimeter of the hous. Another service we recently tried (through a coupon on AngiesList) cost more and did not include any outside spraying, so we considered this company to be more reasonably priced.

Perfectly -- the gentleman came on time, sprayed, was polite and professional. I haven't seen a bug since.

This was a complete waste of money and time. We heard scratching in our attic and upon poking my head in up there saw rat droppings. We purchased the "Rodent Service and General Pest Service" from Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control. The details of this deal through Angies List are very generic and simply state "Installation of rodent control measures in both the attic and your home's exterior." We communicated via email through Angies List and I explained my problem. They arrived on time and the man who arrived was professional. I told him that we heard scratching and thought it was rats based on the rat droppings I had seen in the attic. As I've had rats as pets growing up, I know what I am looking at. The exterminator climbed my ladder and poked his head into my attic opening. He then slid a single rat motel trap just inside the opening of my attic and then shut the door. He put one more outside in my flowerbed and then drove off. We never heard a reduction in scratching in our attic until a month later when we had to call another company. I emailed Metro Guard after about a week just to give it time to take effect and explained that it didn't even begin to address my issue that I still needed to get the rats out. They simply never responded. Complete waste of money as I could have gone to Lowes, bought the rat traps and put them exactly where he did in less than 3 minutes and saved $60. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

Nick arrived and did a complete inspection of our house, outside, inside, attic, and traversed the entire crawl space looking for termites. During the inspection, he pointed out tips for keeping pests at bay including recommending that we keep tree limbs from touching the house, removing debris of old leaves and vegetation to prevent habitat for mosquitoes and other pests! He also pointed out that we had a potential problem with the way the air conditioner condensation drain pipe was plumbed. When he was finished he reported what he found which fortunately was not any active termites but a water leak under the kitchen sink/dish washer while inspecting the crawl space. This was a very valuable find as we were unaware of any leak and if left as is, would have caused serious wood damage. We called a plumber to come and repair the leak and it was due to a copper kitchen sink drain arm that had a open seam all along the bottom causing the leak. It was hidden behind the plaster so that's why we were not aware of a leak. We can 't thank Nick and his company enough for informing us of that problem and will recommend them to friend and family and will use them exclusively ourselves in the future!

Metro Guard came out last fall for a one-time special. Service was fine and then the service man talked me into pre-paying for a year of quarterly services. I have only heard from them once and when I call them, email them, etc. they LIE and say they've tried to contact me. I have phone logs, my phone messages to them saved and copies of all emails I've sent. I have now filed a claim in small claims, BBB and with Angie's List. I'm a Sr Cust Experience Mgr for a major corp and yet I have very realistic expectations. By far the worst business practices I've ever encountered. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! There are many other companies to choose from on Angie's List and trust me...run from this one. They will rip you off!!

I think it was fine. I think the coupon could probably be a little more clear. That's my point of, 'It could be a little clearer'because what they advertised and then the requirement, I ended up paying more than that. I think I paid close to $300 if not more. I believe they showed up on time. The guy seemed knowledgeable.

They are the only pest control company in Dallas that wants to charge the customer $75 for a salesmen to come out and price out termite prevention.

It was fine. They could have followed up. They put these little boxes in that if the rats went in, they would come back and remove them but they didn't come back.

After spending a week trying to get multiple other recommended exterminators to answer my calls, return my messages, etc. I contacted this one. A live person answered the phone and a technician was scheduled to come out 3 hours later. After having my roof replaced a week ago, I had an infestation of carpenter ants stirred up and they were coming in through the window in my bug-phobic son's bedroom. While the initial infestation seemed to die quickly, there were still occasional ones coming in. Kenneth arrived on time (5 min early actually), and was very cordial and friendly. I showed him where the problem was outside first, and he quickly identified some carpenter ants on the exterior of the house. He explained my options for treatment and I chose to go with a 365-day quarterly multiple insect treatment to help ease the anxiety for my son, and because we occasionally get sugar ants in the summer, earwigs from time to time, the random roach, and I have 3 pets that spend a lot of time outdoors and (thankfully) have not yet gotten fleas. This treatment would take care of all of them. He then sprayed around all the walls inside the house and garage, and did an additional treatment inside the walls of my son's room for the carpenter ants. He went up into the attic and dusted in there too. Then he did another exterior treatment in the yard and around the outer perimeter of the house. He warned me that the chemicals used would likely stir up the bugs for the next couple of days and it would probably get worse before it got better, but that they were being flushed out and carrying the chemicals around their nest and I should see a significant improvement over the next couple of weeks. I was very pleased with the responsiveness of Metro Guard and price of the quarterly treatment plan (as well as the ability to pay half up front and then be billed over the next 5 months for the remaining half). Assuming that this works, and I have no reason to think it wouldn't, I will continue to use their services and would recommend them to others too.

While this service was very inexpensive, i don't think it was effective. He laid 5 bait traps - but the rats did not eat any of that bait because there were acorns on the lawn (easier source of food) available). If the rats HAD eaten the bait, they would have died in the attic causing a major smell problem. We had another exterminator come again later to do a deeper inspection and seemed to have a more comprehensive plan to eliminate and actually do the work to eliminate infestation.

When I bought this deal, the expectation was for the person supposed to 1. inspect the home to identify areas of rodent activity 2. spray the indoors for bugs - spiders, ants etc 3. Set the traps for rats. The first time the service person came he did not inspect at all, sprayed just parts of the house and put th emouse traps in random areas - despite telling him about the activity in the backyard. The second time i called them for refill. This guy was better than the first but said, since the traps were placed incorrectly, i would now have to buy another trap for $25 to take care of the rodent activity in the backyard - which I ended up paying. This service did not keep the bugs out even for 90 days nor is the rat problem solved! Waste of money! The only favor the second person did was - he trashed a dead rat and did not charge me $50 for that "service".
