Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control

Their estimate was right on and they were very professional. They were very thorough with their work and the pesticides they used had no smell that we could detect.

We noticed what looked like an ant pile on the ceiling of the bathroom. We did a little research and figured it was termites. We looked up termite control on angie's list and found Metro Guard had high ratings of consumer satisfaction. When we called in, we also liked the quick and courteous response. They came the first possible day, determined it was termites and the potential extent of the problem. A quote was given and accepted immediately. Spot treatment occurred that day due to the potential for swarming. A few days later they scheduled to come back and do full treatment. Unfortunately we had a rain storm and were only able to get the indoor treatment that day. Within a few hours of the treatment, termites began to emerge and swarm the home (about 100 or more in the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen areas). I panicked and called in and was told this was natural but they would see if someone could come back out. When they returned, they put plastic bags and duct tape over the known entry points. We still had termites emerge (don't know where from) for a few more days. Two weeks after the initial indoor treatment the weather cooperated enough for them to return and do the outside treatment. Since then, no problems with termites. The guarantee is for 18 months and of course does not include any damages by the termites. The gentleman doing the inspection, quote and treatment was quite nice and explained about termites as well as other potential pests in the home. The company did a fine job and the guarantee is standard but good. The fact that the termites still emerged into the house was disconcerting even if they quickly died (vacuuming up many wings and corpses for a few days was not much fun, nor was finding them in shoes and clothing). Our recommendation? Have your house inspected regularly and don't let the termite begin invading. We were told that it would be unlikely for a layperson to notice the termites but that they [the termites] had obviously been there for some years to build a colony like this. Regular inspection may have prevented this.

We have used Metro Guard for 14 years. They come out every 3 to 4 months and spray for insects. We have been completely satisfied with their service and would highly recommend them. A couple of times they came on a rainy day and I do believe the product does not work as well...they have come back and resprayed with no problem at all. A special thanks to "Ed" who calls to make the appointments...he is the best customer service rep I have ever known. What a pleasure it has been to have him call me every three months for the past 14 years!

They came when they said they would and called ahead. The young man did a good job and knew what he was doing. I called them again and needed someone to spray in the attic for termites. A different gentleman came out to give me an estimate for termite extermination.

I called them to schedule an appointment to assess the situation. My appointment was within a day or two of when I called. They detected 2 kinds of ants (one of which being carpenter ants) and also saw that I had not only a cockroach issue, but also had many spiders. They treated the inside & outside of my home, and also fogged my attic. The number of insects in my home decreased, and they now come back every three months to treat as I purchased the annual protection plan. Very happy with how punctual they are, their professionalism and the fact that I am no longer seeing unwelcomed insects in (or around) my home!

They were here when they said they would be. They certainly did everything they were supposed to do. I haven't had any problems with bugs or critters since they've been here.

Very well...very responsive to our service request, showed up ahead of schedule, inspected attic and set bait traps, sprayed property inside and out. Delighted with the service and responsiveness rec'd.

No complaints, have not had a problem sense.

I chose this company based on their positive ratings here, and even then they exceeded my expectations. Here's how it went: 12:00 noon: I called to see if somebody could come investigate the scrabbly noises in our attic. The person I spoke to was cheerful and professional, and asked if the next half-hour was okay. 12:30: Leonard arrived, also cheerful and professional, carefully checked the attic and the exterior of the house, confirmed the presence of rats and indicated a couple of spots where they might be getting in. He placed bait in the attic and at three spots around the exterior. By 1:10 he was finished & on his way. In sum: barely more than an hour between my initial phone call and a finished job! Will need to wait a few days more to see how effective the rat control is, but for now I couldn't be more impressed.

Metro Guard came out to give us a free estimate on our fire ant problem. They gave us a specific time of arrival, and they were even a bit early--so refreshing. Since the ants had made it into the house, too, we had done a round of treatment ourselves, and the Metro Guard guy said we had done exactly the right thing and there was no need to pay for his services. He was informative and courteous--very nice!

They charged more for carpenter ants that was fine, but stated that if I see ants again to call and they will come back out. Called them because the carpenter ants came back and they came out and wouldn't spray because they didn't see anymore ants.

They were very professional and courteous. They did a through job treating the house.

We just moved into a house and thought the roaches would starve before we moved in since there was nothing in the house for 3 months. Well after of 2 months of living in the house and relying on one of our cats to kill them, we finally gave up and called Metro Guard. Robert was very courteous and professional. Highly recommended.

Nick arrived within the time frame he had laid out when he gave me the estimate. He worked tirelessly for over 11 hours. He was great with my over-exuberant golden retriever. Nick was the one who told me about Angie's List and then he let me use the $50 discount coupon toward my bill. In my opinion he went above and beyond the call of duty and would not accept a tip. I would highly recommend Metro Guard for any pest problems.

Found them on Angie's and gave them a call. Art Brown showed up and laid out the baits, advised me what to expect and when and treated the yard after the rains were over with. Signed a contract. Art is advised of any "new" situations in the yard when he returns (pet turtle on the roam) and he makes sure he doesn't spray the little bugger down! Haven't had a problem since (knock on wood). If we do see a new insect, we'll catch one and he'll explain what they are on his next visit.

I called another company and waited 4 days (and one "no-show"). I looked on Angie's list and found this to be highly rated. I called Saturday morning and got a same day appointment. Steve was very helpful and explained the common pests in the area. He pointed out areas of the house that attract pests. Then he sprayed and put traps out. Admittedly, I was a little panicky with a roof rat the size of a toaster in my attic. My service from this company was excellent and I will recommend them to all my friends.

Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control was on time and very thorough. They also were careful of my property both inside and out. This is important to me. We haven't had any more flies since they've been here, so I'd say their quality of work was excellent.

They did a good job and he put on the little booties, before he came in the house. They seemed pretty thorough. They were very courteous.

We had 3 companies give us estimates. Though Metro Guard was not the cheapest, they were certainly in the ballpark and their treatment was more thorough. They were very professional and courteous from the time of the estimate through the whole process. We appreciated the fact that the person, Nick James, who gave us the estimate was also the one who did the actual extermination. We found Nick to be very knowledgeable about every aspect of the treatment and also very knowledgeable about construction. Everything was done on schedule. Nick showed up on time and did a fantastic job. He had to drill the foundation through some tile in a water heater closet and we didn't even notice the area on first glance! He was very precise and methodical about the way he went about the treatment. I cannot say enough good things about this company or Nick James. Because of our good experience with the termite treatment, we will be calling to set up quarterly general pest control.

I was repainting my house, took off the a/c vent and found evidence of rat/mouse droppings. I also, had ants and roaches, due to the recent rains. I called Metro Guard at 8:15 am on Monday and by 9:00 am a technician was at my door. The technician sprayed in, around and under my house and in the attic and put out bait for the ants and rodents. They were prompt and knowledgeable and explained everything in detail.

The price quoted was for a one time use. They quoted us just over $600 for an annual plan.

We are pleased with their punctuality, their professionalism, and the excellent service we get. They are always friendly and the men that come are clean and respectful of our property. I highly recommend their services.

They seem to be OK and I don t seem to have any problems with them really. I usually tend to stick with the same company if they do OK. I am pleased with them so I think I will have them around for a while. They are nice and always on schedule. Really, I have nothing bad to say. They are just OK.

They were excellent with the service and they got right to work as soon as they arrived. They did not take up too much of my time. They were also very diligent in their work.
