Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control

They did a very good job. They were very professional. They came on time and did the job well. I would give them very high marks. We had to change the schedule and they were willing to do that. That was very nice. The gentleman who came to do the work explained everything. Their price was reasonable. I would use them in the future.

Having bed bugs is an awful experience - time consuming and costly. We began to realize that we possibly had bed bugs, but could not find any. I called Metro Guard and they sent an expert team to inspect. They were able to find some hiding in the wooden frame of our bed. Because occupants in all bedrooms had experienced bites, Metro Guard recommended that the whole house be exterminated. They left a list of actions that we needed to take before they returned in less than a week to exterminate. Almost everything in the house must be packed up. The technician suggested that to save money on laundering and dry cleaning, we could place items in black garbage bags and place them out in the summer sun for a few hours. I had to leave the house when they came to exterminate because of the chemical fumes. I took bags of laundry to the laundromat while the technicians worked. They removed switch plates and drilled and sprayed behind baseboards in addition to bed frames, backs of pictures, furniture etc. They did a very thorough job that took about 8 hours. They provided a 6-month warranty. I called three times to have them come out again to inspect and spot treat in the first month because we saw signs of hardy survivors. After almost 3 months, we have seen no signs of bed bugs. Metro Guard does excellent work. They provided excellent advice and took care with our possessions.

We contacted Metro Guard after we became convinced of a critter in the attic. Matthew arrived at our home right on time on Saturday morning to investigate an infiltrating squirrel. After listening to some audio recordings we had made of the offending critter in our attic and visually inspecting said attic, he located some footprints on our air ducts. (A previous company had told us we did not have an animal in our attic but we had heard it on our attic door). He suggested that we bait a trap and set it up in the attic. He also said they would check the trap a few times over the next 7 days in the hopes that the squirrel would be apprehended and relocated to squirrel jail (not squirrel heaven, but at that point I would not have cared either way). The trap was set, now we would wait. Days went by, several Metro Guard employees came to check (all punctual), but, alas, no squirrel action in the trap. Though we did continue to hear its racket as it set up shop in our soffit. This was explained, the site where we could hear the sound pointed out on both the inside of our home and the outside to our Metro Guard team. We suspected that the squirrel was in the soffit due to the location of the holes we had located as well as where we were hearing the constant noise. Raves were being had in that soffit, or a squirrel mansion being built. Unfortunately, Metro Guard was unable to capture the critter. On the final day of operation Squirrel Squash, Matthew returned to collect the trap. While he was there we pointed out the offending squirrel as it sat (taking a break from alternately laughing at us and cursing us) and stared at us from our roof (we had the roof patched the day before and the squirrel was unable to regain entrance for a very short period of time). Matthew made a comment about its size and of the possibility that it may be pregnant. It had probably set up a nice, comfy nest up there and wanted to get back in to have it's litter of squirrel monsters. Matthew kindly offered to sell us a trap, but we refused as we just did not believe we would capture it in our attic. We asked if they would be able to catch it on the outside, but we were told that no, they could not set up a trap on the outside of our home. Disappointed, we bid Matthew adieu. We wish we had specifically asked if they could catch a squirrel in the soffit on day one instead of just going with what they told us because, hey, we are far from squirrel experts. Later that day the stealthy squirrel chewed another sizable hole into a fascia board and was once again an inhabitant of our abode. Loathe to spend another $300, we were at a loss. Our roofing company came back out and closed up the new hole. For some unknown reason, we haven't seen hide nor tail of the demon squirrel since. So, we are hoping it has gotten discouraged, already had it's babies or had relocated whatever operation it was headquartering out of our soffit to a new location better suited to it. We are also hoping that we did not seal up the squirrel somewhere in our attic or soffit to catch whiff of it once summer hits and the carcass starts to bake. Considering it had no problems chewing its way in, it probably could chew its way out so maybe we won't have that problem to deal with. All in all, we would definitely use Metro Guard again for pesky pest problems of the insect variety (like ants not easily offended like some aunts are and leave on their own). However, if we have another "wildlife" problem, we will most likely contact a "wildlife" specialty company and not a pest control company with a wildlife division. Or, I will just put on my big girl pants, climb a two story ladder and get those darn things on my own.

The rep that came to my house was very professional. He introduced himself and was very careful about the way he treated my house. He put booties on his shoes, and was very clean. The only bad thing was that they didn't accept my "Angie's List" coupon. I was very disappointed about this. If I would have just gotten the "ants" service it would have been valid, but since I got a more comprehensive service, it wasn't part of the deal.

Jeff went to work right away and was done in a highly expedient manner. He noted areas of concern where pests might be able to enter my attic and suggested ways to have them sealed up. Overall an outstanding job!

Called early Monday morning. Someone was at the house within the hour. Explained services and costs. An annual contract was not much more than services I needed for one time. Everything went quickly, well and thoroughly. Was told what to watch for and what to expect. Great experience. Had my daughter get a contract for her house as well.

I use Metro for bug control every three months. They call and remind me when it's time to come back out which is convenient and annoying at the same time. I asked them about termites and went over their plans. I decided to have the Termindor sprayed under my foundation. Person showed up on time at 8am and worked outside in the heat until almost 6pm. I dont know how well it will work, but I wanted something to ease my mind about termites as my house had them previously. Terminex had installed bait stations surrounding the house, but I didn't feel comfortable with those. Price seemed decent for the warranty and work included.

I use them all the time and I've used them for years. I pay each time they come out. They are really good at calling and saying that it is that time again. They make an appointment and show up when they say they will show up. Their price is right on. They are very professional and they are always dressed in their nice uniforms. The same guy comes every time and he is really, really good. Their prices are competitive and I like what they do. They always ask if I have any questions. They are really good. I will definitely continue to use them.

They are an excellent company to deal with. The crew is very professional and helpful. There prices were very reasonable for the quality of work you receive. I would use this company again.

Update: Matthew said I may see more activity in the first two or three days after spaying - I didn't. Matthew said it may see activity for up to three weeks - I didn't. I only saw two more bugs after he sprayed, and both of those were in the first week. Contract that with seeing at least one, often two bugs per DAY before he sprayed. I will definitely be using Metro Guard again, might even go ahead and sign up for their annual plan.

The experience overall was very good. They arrived on time, although I arrived a little late - traffic! The pest control expert was very knowledgeable and sprayed every crevice of the house - along all the baseboards, garage, etc., and even sprayed a couple of fire ant mounds. He explained what I should look for over the 3 months after the spraying. He checked the attic for critters - found none, thankfully! He wore booties every time he was entering the home, which I appreciated with our light colored rugs.

After spotting termite swarmers in our house, I contacted several companies to inspect and provide an estimate. The Metro Guard technician was very knowledgable and provided a competitive estimate with an 18-month warranty. The treatment option was consistent with Texas A&M Extension Service recommendations. The technician spent several hours inside the house treating the plumbing accesses. He was very tidy. He then drilled holes in the patio and porch, injected Termidor, and fill the holes. He had to return in a week to trench around the outside of the house because of recent rains. There was little disturbance of landscaping. I was very satisfied with this initial service.

The service technician arrived on time. I showed him the problem area. He gave me several solutions ranging from a one-time ant treatment guaranteed for 90 days to an annual pest control contract for all pests except termites and flying insects. I selected the one-time ant treatment. He completed the work in about 15 minutes, explained what he had done, and answered my questions about how this would affect my dogs (it would not at all). He wrote up the bill and I paid. He left within 30 minutes of his arrival. These guys were incredibly easy to deal with. They were polite, prompt, and I got exactly what I paid for. No surprises. And no ants. The $131.35 I paid was $175, less their $50 off Angie's List coupon, plus tax.

I called to set appointment. I received a reminder call a day before the exterminator came out. He came out exactly on time. He explained everything. He wore a cover over his shoes as he went around the house, except at the very end (he must have forgot to put it back on after he came back in the house). He explained everything and showed me the areas where the critters might be possibly be coming into the house, etc. I appreciated the time, explanations and the different options given. It was a quick and easy transaction. We just opted for the economical roach/spider control solution. We have a 90-day warranty for these. If we see these critters again within this time, I will modify my report; however, at this point, we are very satisfied.

The follow up and appointment reminder call were an added touch. I would recommend Metro Guard and their excellent customer service.

I look on Angie's List for ALL my needs now and that's how I found this company. Read the reviews, and felt it was a good fit. And...it was!

Termites were found during a routine home inspection of our home. Called Metro Guard, Kyle came out inspected the home throughly, gave us a fair price. Scheduled to come back to do the treatment when it was convenient with my work schedule. He was very courteous, and mindful of what we needed. Great customer service.

I use them on a regular basis and I plan on continuing to use them.

Nice, professional service. Arrived at the agreed upon time, did the inspection/treatment and recommended ant treatment program. As I knew I had a small ant issue, I was expecting the recommendation. Ant issue is solved and house has been pretty much bug free.

They were very professional from start to finish. They were able to identifiy the issue and provided a treatment within 5 days. Will use them for all of my pest control issues.

The technician showed up exactly as promised. He was professional and very friendly. He listened to what my concerns were and explained everything very clearly. They were willing to setup a payment plan for me to allow me to use the annual plan. Whether or not the treatment work is left to be seen, but step one was great!

I got same day service. The tech was very thorough and did his job quickly and very well. He explained what to expect from the treatment and he told me to call if the problem persisted and they would come back and treat again. I believe that after three weeks the ants are under control and the yearly treatment plan will keep them that way. The yearly treatment plan was reasonably priced and effective!! I have found my new Pest Control Co. I would definatley recommend them to friends and to anyone else who might ask.
