Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control

Roofer discovered a colony of carpenter ants while doing some repair work on the fascia/soffits. I called Metro Guard to come out & spray for them. Spray for ants only was $175 or I could get a year service for all pests (incl the carpenter ants) for $400, so I went with that option. Lonnie sprayed the exterior of the house, baseboards inside the house, & some kind of powder up in the attic. They will come out quarterly to repeat the treatment.

I will use them again in the future.

I chose this company because it was the highest rated Pest/Insect ControlI company on Angie's List. I called this company on Mon., June 18th about doing an estimate because over the weekend for 2 nights & 2 mornings in a row I would find several of some type of insects with wings accumulated on a corner of an ottoman and on the floor in my living room. Some were dead, some were still alive, and others had obviously traveled from where they landed to the perimeter of my living room, but then died. I could see a small whole at a joint in my vaulted ceiling where they were coming through. The Metro Pest Control representative that I spoke with on the phone, based on the description I gave him, thought they were some type of ant & offered me a Tues. afternoonish/evening appointment or Wed. appointment. I advised the representative that a Wed. early morning appointment would work best. He offered me a 10am appointment on Wed., June 20th, which I confirmed with him twice & immediately put the appointment in my iPhone & set a reminder on my phone. At 10am on Wed., June 20th, Metro Pest Control did not show up. I gave them until 10:30am, then I called the office, let them know my name & that I had a 10am appointment scheduled, it was now 10:30, and no one has shown up. The representative told me that I had a 12 noon appointment. I reminded him that he was the person I spoke with when I scheduled my appointment, that I specifically needed a morning appointment & that I confirmed my 10am appointment with him twice and no one called to see if I would move my appointment to noon. His response was "Well Ma'am, I'm not denying that, but someone moved you to 12 noon. I don't know who did that or how that happened. Hold on just a minute, let me check on something and I'll call you right back." He called me back in less than 5 minutes and said "OK, I just talked to my guy, and he said he can be there in 12 minutes". I agreed. 30 minutes later, still no one had shown up. I call Metro Pest Control, let them know the representative had still not shown up & asked them to cancel my appointment. The guys response was, "Ma'am he said he'd be there in 12 minutes & I called you right back to tell you that". I explained to him that it really did not matter what was said, when you don't follow through with what you say you are going to do. I told him to call his guy and tell him don't bother coming to my house for an estimate. VERY UNHAPPY NON-CUSTOMER! THEY WILL NEVER HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO EARN MY BUSINESS!

It went well. I thought they were timely. I didn’t feel pressured into a sale, they were trustworthy and they did a good job.

We were buying a forclosed home, vacant for more than a year and a half, and had seen many spiders and even a mouse during our visits to the home. So, decided to call in the experts. Robert arrived TO THE MINUTE!!! of the appointed time. Polite, efficient, friendly, answered all questions, recommended treatments, AND didn't try to push anything not needed. VERY thorough, and covered just about every inch of the home it seemed... Took his time, and did it right... which did take time, as it's a 7,800 square home. He even treated every surface of the garages (a 3 and a 2 car garages). Then he brought out the fogger machine for all the attic spaces, and even installed bait traps for rodents in several strategic locations. Overall, I'd have to say that I was more than please with Robert and his work. So much so that I signed up for the annual contract (visits every 90 days) and call ins whenever needed. Also bought the Fire Ant program too, and the lawn had several large mounds. We will see how they do over the first year, and I'll report back. But for now... They receive a solid "A" in every category.

From start to finish, the skilled technician, Mr. NIck James carried out his most commendable remedial measures in a truly professional manner! I cannot overstate both his outstanding personal demeanor and superior professional traits! Definitely top caliber indeed! During his initial survey day, I was very favorably impressed with his classiness, politeness,and by his neat uniform, to include the protective "booties" he wore during his very comprehensive inspection all concerned areas of termite possible presence, to include the home's perimeter, interior area, and attic; he did find two well hidden termite access points on the perimeter. I was also very favorably impressed by his extensive knowledge of pesticides vis-a-vis many different types of pests. During the initial inspection day, and also through out the job, the technician Mr. James made sure of my desires and preferences, and ensured all of my questions were answered completely. The technician did not loaf for minute, he stayed very busy during all of his approximately six-hour job. I noticed his did not get in a hurry at all, was very meticulous to ensure he did a professional job in all respects. During the termite control project. Mr. James drenched the home's perimeter trench with over 100 gallons of Termador .06% mix and employed appropriate amounts of .125% termador foam around interior pipes. I am delighted with the professional services of Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control -- it's top caliber company for sure! Use them, they will get the job done right the first time at a reasonable expense. In this day and age of sloth and mediocrity, it is so refreshing to get a demanding project carried out professionally!

The initial estimate was very thorough, and the technician took time to answer all my questions. The same person who did the estimate also did the work, which is generally a good thing. The work seemed to go smoothly. The interior and exterior areas were cleaned up really well after the job was done. They honored their Angie's List coupon, which made the cost very competitive. Overall, I'm very pleased with the service, and I recommend them.

This company was punctual and professional. I was very impressed at their knowledge of where the bugs were getting in and how to stop them. I felt like they did a very thorough job. Its a week later, and we are finding dead ants all over the house so they appear to be working. I signed up for a year service for $400, which I feel is fair for the work that will be performed. I would recommend them.

Their technicians are pleasant and polite. They are good and efficient. They are thoughtful and take their shoes off when they come inside the house. They are prompt and thorough.

I have had the same technician for 7 years and the office people call me and remind me of my appointments. I have been with them for a long time and I know the office manager and have been using him for 20 years, once I am with someone and they do a good job I going to stick with them. They do a good job. I think they are reliable, I have had termite treatments with them, they are responsive and they guarantee the treatment and will come out and treat for free if I have any issues. I have heard about promotions that other companies have offered, but it is not worth the risk to switch.

When Carlos arrived he told me the different plans that were available and the cost. I opted to go for a 1 yr. contract where they will come to spary every 3 months. He was very courteous and professional and covered his shoes when he walked through the house. He did a very thorough job in spraying all areas. I have found several of the roaches since the spraying but they have all been dead. The price of $432.00 was for the 1 yr. contract. I initially paid 1/2 and the remainder will be charged over 5 months.

They are really good and very responsive. They kill all of the bugs. If there are any more problems they will come out the day I call and take care of it for me.

They do a great job. I rate them very highly. I would continue to use them in the future.

We have used them since we have been in this house which is about ten years. They are very friendly. They make sure to call us before coming out. Their employees are very friendly and considerate. They don’t track mud into the house.

Called them in Summer 2011 with a sudden infestation due to the drought. Technician came quickly, used pesticides in an appropriate manner, explained the annual service contract to me without pressure, and acted in a professional manner. I have had two follow-ups as part of annual contract (most recently March 3). Prompt (actually early!) and professional each time. And most importantly, no more bugs!

They showed up right on time. They were very upfront showing me the 3 options of one time deal or annual program and what each covers. Didn't feel like I was being sold to at all. Just given the options and choice left to me and my wife. We decided to do the annual program with the plus option for ants. Hard to fork out $400 but they do come out quarterly and if any problems in between will come out free of charge. Answered any questions I had. Took about an hour to spray inside and out. Don't know how good product works until more time but everything has been great so far.

I would recommend them because they are professional and come out on time. They do a good job.

Nick did a great job of treating our property for termites and other insects today. He used his flashlight to look into nooks and crannies for any sign of an unwanted insect. He was extremely careful when moving around our furniture and even wore paper booties to avoid the dreaded "cable guy mud track" syndrome. He was very thorough - covering interior and exterior perimiters and trouble spots with precision. We have tried many other pest control companies and MetroGuard is the one we stay with because they consistently provide a thorough and professional service. We especially enjoy the very pleasant fellows they send out to our home. I don't know where MetroGuard finds these guys. We figure that Nick can be successful anywhere -- he is an exceptional technician, loves his work and even brags about the high standards of his company. Who knew that extermination can be such a pleasant experience?

Matt was very professional when he arrived for Bed bug inspection. He got out his flashlight and did a complete inspection of my daughters room and mine. There were a few under her box spring, I was very apprehensive about it , but he never panicked me in any way. I had already had one treatment in my sons room ,done by another company but Matt found eggs again in his room. So we decieded to have the whole house treated. It is a very labour intensive job to wash, dry and steam and remove everything out of your house for spraying. The day of the spraying three trucks showed up and we had to leave the house for a total of 8hrs. Matt called after everything was completed and gave me details of everything that had been done. And told me to call again in 2wks for a respray around baseboards. I am very happy to say that we have not had any more problems but just incase we have a 6 month guarantee.

They are excellent. It is good to keep continuing pest control services in Dallas and we used them for 14 or 15 years.

They came out when they said they would on a Saturday morning. The technician was very helpful and informative about how rodents get into the house. He went into the attic but could not locate the dead animal - he did see where there were scratch marks on the insulation and side of the attic wall. He explained that the animal had probably fell into the wall space and could not be located. They had already discussed this possibility when I first called, so I was prepared for this outcome. He put up a bait trap and also an odor remover to help with the smell. After he finished, he went out around the outside of the house and located the hole in the eaves where the animal had chewed the wood. He told us to wait a week for the bait to work and then plug the hold, which we did.

They have always been good. They are awesome. They charge around $100 every quarter. They don’t charge us extra for visits like today. We would definitely use them again in the future.
