Metro Guard Termite & Pest Control

They're excellent. They show up to their appointments on time and are friendly. I feel good about having them here in the house. I've never seen anybody scary. I never felt that way with them. They do a good job with their employees. They're walking all over your house and you want to make sure they're good people. I would highly recommend them. They're a good, prompt company. They have excellent customer service and really good phone response. Whoever you talk to on the phone is always very friendly. They're a good company.

Billy the exterminator was precise and very detailed! I've used a few companies in the past and I haven't been impressed. This will be my company from here on out! Thanks to Billy! Great Job!!!

I called 3 pest control services to explain the issue I was having: tiny ants around the sink in the guest bathroom, our office and kitchen (all rooms are in the same vicinity). Explaining the situation, each place confirmed that treating Rover Ants is a separate service from general/broad spectrum control, due to the specialized chemical needed bait traps. Metro Guard's price of $175 was in-line with the others. Mark was friendly, professional and communicated clearly. He identified the ants as Rover Ants and followed me as I took him to the three problematic locations. We returned to the kitchen where he confirmed the price of $175. I inquired about an annual general prevention contract, which was $399: this included prevention (and treatment if necessary) inside/outside for all Class A, B and C pests - the list was provided. Prior to beginning: (1) Mark explained specifically that he was using Termidor? which is primarily used to treat termites, gel and bait traps and (2) informed me that he would notify me of anything else he noticed, that was not included in this visit (ex. fire ants, termites, etc.). When Mark began treating the outside of our house, including the pool area ....he found termite tubes! He asked that I come look. He showed me where they were, what they looked like and reminded me that the chemical he was using for the ants is primarily used for termites, so it killed them. He further explained that this may drive the termites closer to the house and recommended and booked at my request a *free* termite inspection to determine the extent of infestation and solution. The termite inspector from Metro Guard will be out tomorrow afternoon. Mark was informative and helpful without being overbearing. He gave me the information so I could make a well-informed decision, encouraging me to get a second/third opinion for my peace of mind, but reassuring me that he had 16 years of experience with Metro Guard and that the inspector had many more years.Mark was a joy to have in our home and I will request that he be the one to service our annual contract.

Polite, professional and yes, they will offer you an annual contract. But I did not feel pressured and the price was consistent with other pest control services.

They were very informative and helpful the bate killed some rodents but this company does not find where they are coming in from, they suggested I find a good inexpensive handyman to come out to find where they are coming in and have them use some foam or chicken wire to stop them.

I really don’t have anybody if they don’t satisfy me.

I purchased their service specifically to eradicate rats from my attic. The service person showed up at my door prepared to spray for insects. I informed him that he was here due to rodents, not bugs. He looked around in the attic, declared fresh rodent droppings in two areas and put 1 bait device in each area. 10 days later I still hear them scratching around in the attic. I called the company to report it and set a new appointment for them to return, since they issued a 90 day warranty. They were not going to be available for several days, so I purchased rat traps myself. Within 48 hours we killed 5 rats in our attic. I have not heard any more noises, nor have any more rodents been killed. I didn't pay them so I could do it myself, but unfortunately that's how I fixed the problem. UPDATE: The company reached back out to me after they saw the unfavorable review and offered me a refund and I thought that was a very professional thing to do.

He called me the day I purchased the service and informed me that the services I needed were not included in the service that he performs. He was very professional.

It went really good. They called and came on a Saturday. They did the work.

Arrived on time. Fully explained what he was going to do. Told me what I needed to do. He said ants should be gone in a few weeks. Try "in a few days"!! No sign of them since, but I have a one year guarantee, so that also gives me peace of mind. Highly recommend!

Firstly, this is my 3rd time using them as their prices are reasonable and their staff very profession and polite. The specialist knew all there was to know about my moth issue and searched every corner of my house to help me eradicate them. He completed an internal and external spray. Border only as I did not want my yard done just yet.

It went great all the way from scheduling through the treatment process I purchased an Angieslist Big Deal, $79 Rodent Service and General Pest Service, to get my house treated for pests and rats that have been "bugging" us. The work was scheduled within a day and the tech Carlos came out and did it. Carlos was right on time. It was a real pleasure to meet Carlos and he did a great job of applying the two treatments. He also offered me a few tips that will be helpful in the future. There was no extra charge for two bait boxes installed in my attic or the poison put in them which was even an additional benefit. I highly recommend these guys for any pest control needs.

I first called on Metroguard for an ant problem I was having in my pantry in December 2011. They came out quickly and resolved the problem. It's now January 2014 and those ants haven't returned. I also signed up for their quarterly pest control service. I used to get very small spiders in my house (in corners, etc) and haven't seen them since they've been servicing. They control the fire ants in my yard. If a mound pops up during the summer they come out and take care of it right away since the fire ant service is warrantied. I'm very happy with Metroguard.

They did put bait inside attic and paid $25 extra for a bait station outside. Other than getting several different answers as to the length of time that it might take to be effective was happy with the service. BTW it took about three weeks. It was suggested that I wait at least two weeks to have any openings sealed so that the pests could exit once they took the bait (best scenario). This was done on 12/31. I believe the handyman helped me understand why there was more noise than usual with the rodents. He saw signs of an opossum on my roof and his theory was that he had chased the roof rats into the attic space. And I just thought I wanted to live on a wooded creek. The company was professional and promptly responded to my concerns. It's not their fault that baiting as opposed to trapping took longer to resolve than I was comfortable with.

This is a good company with good people. The only objection I have is the price, but it seems to be the going rate.

They were unable to perform service and seemed uninterested in our problem...even though we are an existing customer. We were so pleased and impressed with Metro Guard when they wanted to land us as a customer in a year long contract. Now that we are a customer, I think I just expected a higher level of care and concern.

Within 24 hrs the i could tell the rodent activity was less and each day i am seeing less evidence. Carlos performed my service and he explained everything he was doing and why. Highly recommend him for your Technician. He was Professional in every way. I will use them again and recommend them to our friends

They are very professional. They do what they say they are going to do. I probably won't use them after the contract.

I love the guy who comes and does the service. He is very friendly and very nice. When they call to set up the appointment, they are always very friendly. I think it is really good customer service.

They were very effective. But then, they told me I have a termite problem and they gave me a quote. Just to get a second opinion, I got another company from Angie's List. They came in, inspected and told me that I don't have a termite problem. The work that they did for me was very good in controlling the pest outside.

This review is for Technichan Kenneth Flethcher. Apparently Metro Guard uses several technicians, but initial inspection and follow-up control are performed by the same person. I would ask for Kenneth if I were going to have any future extermination services performed at my house. I had four vendors come to the house to bid the job, most of them had similar costs. I chose Kenneth because he found five different termite tubes into the house and several areas of damage or signs of infestation that the others didn't find. The best any of the others did was find one tube, and one person found damage I had not pointed out to them. Kenneth explained the procedure to me and provided excellent written material about the substance used and its effects. Once hired I had to wait two-weeks before he was available to schedule the treatment. Obviously he is much in demand. When he came out to perform the treatment he spent most of the day doing so. He started out inside and treated all the areas where plumbing comes into the house. He then went outside and put the substance around the entire perimeter of the house. In some areas he had to drill through the concrete driveway and patio to ensure coverage of the entire perimeter. He was very meticulous about repairing these holes and they are hardly noticeable today. Kenneth was careful of our shrubbery, respectful to ourselves, and very eager to answer questions about our project.

The technicians are very polite, really nice, always on time, and offer great service. I have recommended them to several neighbors and friends. They inspect/spray inside, outside, the attic, the garage. They are very thorough. The technicians always wear paper booties over their shoes when in the house so they don't track anything in. They offer advice on how to trim landscape bushes and other tips to minimize bugs in the house. One time in the six years we saw some live bugs about 6 weeks after they sprayed. Called them up and they sent someone out to respray the next day at no charge. The company keeps track of when we are due for the next spray and calls to set up an appointment.. I appreciate that they are on top of the schedule because I am not. The night before the scheduled appointment, they call to remind you of the time. They have a great web address: www.gotbugs.com

Timely and professional. Explained what he was doing and looking for. Walked house with me giving details along the way. Signed up on service plan (4 treatments / one year) with no pressure of an up sell. Did seem a bit pricy.
