Description of Work: I searched online for a plumber who does gas log fireplace repair. Their web site advertises prominently that they repair gas log fireplaces. They included a troubleshooting guide, which included information about gas log fireplace thermocouples and thermopiles. Their web site advertises that their technicians can repair any kind of gas log fireplace. I made an online appointment. In the notes, I explained that my gas log fireplace would not light even though the pilot light was lit. The technician showed up (on time) and said that they do not repair gas log fireplaces and was surprised when I told him that the website prominently advertises that they do. He called his dispatcher and also spoke to the head of plumbing, who both confirmed that they don’t have a technician who repairs gas log fireplaces. Due to the false advertising, I cannot recommend this company, which is a Service Experts company.

Description of Work: The gentleman who came out was very nice, spent about thirty minutes looking over the AC blower unit inside. When it came time to look at the AC unit on the roof, he did not have a ladder and said they were not allowed to inspect AC units that are on pitched roofs, anyway. He said that more than likely the filters just needed to be changed. There was no charge. | |When the filter change did nothing, I called Xtreme air out. Within 5 minutes the tech found that the condensation pump was the root cause of the problem. Replaced the pump and we were back in business. He inspected the roof mounted AC unit, as well, but all was fine up there. | |

Description of Work: Repaired outside gas leak, on riser going into house. Later repaired sewer drain which had broken. This required lifting commode, concrete-sawing into foundation, replacing wax ring, and re-seating toilet.

Description of Work: We have been Levy & Sons customers for years. They have done air conditioning and plumbing work for us during that time. This time we needed our tankless water heater repaired. After a number of tries they managed it. I found myself having to push their technician to think of additional things to test/try in order to 'diagnose' the issue and fix it. This took more than 1 visit. We still use the company but for any future tankless water heater issue I am going to do my research on the web first.

Description of Work: Levy & Son provided us service for long term maintenance in air conditioning system.

Description of Work: The call was for a slow-draining bathroom sink and a leak in the water supply underneath the same sink. The technician did not have a "snake" to use on the drain. He called a second person to come with the snake. Since the snake for such purposes is not the heavy, lengthy kind needed for the main sewer line, I thought that each technician would carry his own as part of the regular equipment. Of course there was an additional charge for the second person. There was not a problem repairing the leak.

Description of Work: We have used them for the semi-annual tune-ups for years and have been very pleased. We got a system replacement bid from them and it was quite high and we did not use them.

Description of Work: Most recently, Levy & Sons worked on the condenser on one of my home air conditioners. But they have been doing both plumbing and air conditioning work for me for two decades in two different homes. While I think it's fair to say that they are somewhat expensive, they are consistently professional, courteous, and prompt. I have always found that the work they've done meets the highest standards and every technician ever sent to my home has had both a great work ethic and a great attitude. (Like another member, I had a particularly good experience with Michael Brown.)
