John's Handyman Service

It was a great help that Robert went to Home Depot to purchase the vent covers. This is usually my main obstacle. I don't know what to buy and don't have time off work to do so. This group is very low key and at the same time they get the job done. David was able to caulk around the vent covers to make it all look beautiful.

Very well. He provided a reasonable and detailed estimate. He communicated well with regard to when he would be onsite to do the work. He was very courteous to the occupants of the home. He did what he said he would. Excellent experience. This is the second time we have used him and will do so in the future.

John is very professional and has great ideas and will give you cheaper options that you may not of thought of. He's a true team member with you on your project. His team is very respectful, clean and detailed. He wants to make sure the job is done right and that you are happy. Highly recommend him to all my friends and family.

I had a door that we used all the time and it would stick and was hard to open. John came right out and looked at it and quoted me a price that was very reasonable. Then he scheduled me in his busy schedule so that I didn't have to wait too long and it was on a Sunday! He said he would be there at 10 and he was there -- at 10! I felt I didn't have to worry if he would show up for a job or not. Confidence level is very high. Oh, and he did an excellent job on my door! It opens and closes with a feather touch. He left everything clean after the job was done and we are very pleased.

Cabinets with outlets needed to be installed where a florescent light had already been removed. during that conversation I said " These are are now IC rated lights, do you know what that means" He said "no". The question was asked to verify Johns background and entirety of the project. It became apparent of his skill level when john didn't know what IC Rated lights were and home depot did. I preceded anyway.At this point the conversation went sour. He got short with me and was very rude. I was simply explaining what the job was. I am not sure what John got upset about especially since he was the one who asked what needed to be done.I tried to call back to see if dialogue could be re-initiated. He comes off as sexist and uneducated. I am concerned that he says he can do electrical work and he doesn't even know what IC rated lights are.

John and the guys that work for him are very detail oriented and do a great job. No matter how big or small the job is, they make sure to get it done right. The guys are always on time and let me know when they are going for their lunch break or when they are done for the day. I would most definitely recommend their service to anyone.

Went pretty well. Two workers spent the day doing all of the repairs, but didn't get to the painting. As it was an outside door we had to reschedule the painting several times because of weather. Finally, got it done and done very well. Later one of our security lights was not working right. John came to have a look and sent someone out the next week to replace with a new light .... now working fine.

I would not recommend John's Handyman Service. John is a friendly guy, but he cuts corners and is not detail oriented. He subs out his jobs. No surprise there. And the guy that he sent to me (Caesar) was knowledgable and was willing to listen. But instead of giving his sub the proper tools, in this case, a hopper, in order to match the texture he told his guy to go buy spray texture. His guys showed up late and all they knew was they were to path a few holes to patch. John had not briefed them on the job properly, nor told them the supplies they needed, so off they go to buy paint, spray texture and drop clothes (after I insisted that they put them down). To his crew's credit, they did a decent job though the texure isn't really right and Caesar stayed 30 extra minutes, after I complained, to paint the whole panel of the area around the patch for color consistency and to cover the drywall compound dust that had been smeared around the area. Most of this goes with the territory when you are dealing with contractors, but what threw me about John is that when I complained, he told his guys, "Oh this guy(meaning me) is unrealistic. Just grab your stuff and clear out." I wanted John workers to address the panel, a very easy fix, but his reaction was to say that he would give the whole job to me free and walk away. He said he was having a bad day, and I can understand when contractor's feel beat up, but maybe he should make the connection in his own mind that perhaps the reason he feels so beat up is because he is trying to cut corners, and is not spending enough time overseeing his job and that makes people pretty unhappy.

It did not go at all. The provider would not answer questions and got up and walked out on us in the middle of a conversation. This man is very moody and unprofessional.

John came to give an estimate and then two members of his crew did the job. They came right on time and did a very good job of the repairs. I would definitely use this company again.

I called John to get an estimate on painting our existing wrought iron fence in the back of our house. He came the following day and looked and was confident that he could get it in good shape by doing some necessary cleaning first, then showed me where he needed to do some repair work that I hadn't even noticed. I really liked him and felt very comfortable with his ideas and knew when he finished that the fence was going to be in excellent shape. He sent 2 of his guys to do the work on a Monday and they worked very hard for 4 days without stopping! They went above and beyond the call of duty - I was VERY pleased with the outcome!! My next door neighbor was so impressed, that she called John for an quote and they did work for her, too. Needless to say, I would recommend John's Handyman Service to anyone!! And, I plan to use them again for anything I need done around the house.

John and Larry did a great job fixing the stairs to my attic. They were able to repair the existing stair system and they did it at a very fair cost. I would definitely enlist their help for future handyman type of services.

He did an excellent job for me. Miner plumbing services, he put a large support in the attic, and multiple other services. I am already planning on taking him back for another job here.

We purchased 2 "2 hour" packages to do the repairs. Overall quality and cleanup were good on the sheetrock repair as well as the door alignment (Door was rubbing and apparently the whole frame had to be adjusted). The trim repair on the baseboards were good and cut fairly well, a few of the trim nails could have used a bit more finishing to ensure they weren't sticking out a about 1/64", but that was just because I was looking. Overall good work.

I had used this provider two other times with good success so he and his associate were my go-to handymen. Scheduling issues had been a minor problem in the past (unavailability or late arrival to appointments) but his work was good and I was willing to overlook this. An appointment was arranged to estimate 9 different projects at my residence. He no-showed once again so I called 30 minutes after he was due to arrive, only to get his voicemail. I left a message regarding the missed appointment, to which he replied five minutes later with a text message stating that he "messed up" and requested to reschedule the next day or at my earliest convenience. I replied with a preferred time for the next day, and he stated that he had "interviews" and needed a later time. I said thanks anyway. John and Larry do good work, but I need someone who values my business as important enough to keep scheduled appointments.

Replaced fluorescent fixture (ballast electrical part needed replacing, we got the part at Home Deport but were unsure of how to replace it) in kitchen, outdoor security light fixture and wiring, and porch light troubleshoot/fix. Everything went smoothly and there were no "surprises". We asked for a quote over the phone and he delivered just as promised - not gotchas or anything like that. He wants to build a customer relationship so is very fair and does really nice work. We're going to use him again for some other work we need fixing around the house - kitchen faucet replace and cooktop replace.

I have been using him for everything. He has done a great job painting the inside and outside of the house. We call John for just about everything that goes wrong. He is very punctual, it is a fair price, and he does just about everything.

I am very pleased with the services provided by this company. The workmen are always on time and do an excellent job.

John figured out how to do ithe job without buying new supplies or wood. I asked him about some other things that might need to be done. He explained why they didn't need to be done. Amazing. He gave me such a fair price that I arranged for the work to be done immediately. His workers were so nice and their work was beautiful! If I could give a grade higher than an A, I would.

They were hard workers and did a great job.

John came and provided a quote for my wall and baseboards and set up a date for three weeks out. He worked well to accommodate my busy work schedule, and stated he could do some of the work on Saturday. On service day, he had three contractors come, who split up the tasks. They were all very attentive to the jobs they did and asked my preference on design etc. before starting. They worked consistently throughout the day, and they were very friendly and personable. They arrived on time and finished on time. the final cost was as John quoted for the service. Also as expected, they provided me with documentation of costs for materials.

When I called, John was very responsive - he came out within a day and provided an estimate. At first I thought it was too expensive but after I really considered the work involved I was ok with the price. On work day, the team arrived on time. They were professional, explained the process and got to work. They moved or covered my floors and furniture. They made sure the electrical was completely dead, then patched, sanded and retextured the walls. They went through the process a couple of times, then painted. I will use them again. Excellent quality. Prompt, professional, clean.

John came over to estimate the work. He was very knowledgeable, quick to understand what I wanted done and made good suggestions. The date for the work to occur was set a couple of weeks later and John told me what to expect. On the appointed day the crew arrived. They split up the work - lots of little tasks - and worked steadily, quietly and with a minimum of mess. They consulted me whenever there was a question. It started raining so we had to reschedule the powerwashing. They came back on the scheduled day and took care of it. The fence looks terrific - I prefer the weathered look but wanted to freshen the fence before putting the house on the market. While by far the most expensive item on the list ($480) it was worth it. I would definitely use John's Handyman Services again and will recommend them to friends and neighbors.
