Simpson and his partner arrived early for the appointment, and were very friendly and professional. The job took longer than expected due to issues beyond anyone's control, but they worked diligently and efficiently to get the faucet replaced. I was very pleased from start to finish, and will be using them again in early May for an annual HVAC maintenance check, as well as for any plumbing issues that arise in the future.

+ -1 moreI have used Dallas Plumbing Company for plumbing services at two homes for over 25 years. Although they are not the cheapest plumbers in town, I can always depend on their expertise and integrity. They provide excellent quality work with a guarantee I know they will stand behind. This plumbing leak turned out to be a major project, as the detection team determined it was under the foundation. The odyssey began on March 28 and ended on April 8; eleven days without hot water, including two weekends and Easter, was an adventure. They tried to break through the slab from above, but were unable to do so because the area was located directly above a beam. After digging a tunnel under the foundation, they determined that the water line and leak were actually dead center in the middle of a four foot concrete beam, so an alternative approach had to be taken. (Of course a water line in the middle of a concrete beam should have never passed inspection when the house was built in 2001.) They rerouted the water line under the beam and up through the bedroom floor, then chipped out a trench over to the bathroom shower and laid the line in it. Brian and his crew had the knowledge and experience to determine the best alternative. They also helped me arrange for water damage remediation services and the crew that dug the tunnel. I would not hesitate to recommend Dallas Plumbing Company for difficult or complex plumbing problems, or any plumbing issues for that matter.

+ 0 morewe made the appt. then, for a couple of days before the appt, they kept calling to see if we could move up the appt. we couldn't because i had only been approved to take off a certain window of time. we asked that they find out why the garbage disposal quit working and install a new one that we had already purchased if they couldn't fix ours. they installed our new one. however, the plumber was not familiar with the disposal we bought, and there were a couple of times i assisted with the installation because it appeared he was "stuck" in the process. i didn't think we should pay for that "wasted" time. had i not assisted, we probably would have had to pay for yet another 30 minute block of time.

+ -1 moreThe appointment was for 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. arrival time. The plumber from Dallas Plumbing arrived at 9:00 a.m. sharp. He removed the old toilet and put it into his truck. He then installed the new toilet. The only new part he replaced was the flange. He finished at 10:15 a.m. I inspected the job and all was well--the caulking around the base of the toilet was excellent. I would use Dallas Plumbing again.

+ -1 moreThe estimator(Mark Wissler) sent me an estimate for $2,431 to install the 9 gal plug-in unit. It needed a drain which was about 2 feet away, an electrical outlet which was about 2 feet awayand a water line which was about 20 feet away. The unit came with almost all neede parts and costs about $375.00 Last year I had an estimate of $1800 to install a larger mre expensive unit When I asked Mark why his bid was so expensive and could he bid it on time and material he cut off comminication

+ -1 morePinched for time in the middle of remodeling I had to settle for a mis-matched shower equipment. And I did not appreciate the drama I was put through in having to order the wall outlet at the last minute. I wrote to Cindy Downs, Manager and she refunded me $15.00 for the over night freight costs.
Description of Work: I would never recommend Dallas Kitchens & Baths located at 11055 Plano, Road, Dallas, Texas 75238 and this is why. I purchased for my daughter chrome Hansgrohe Swing C Valve plate and Pressure balance valve for the Hansgrohe Raindance Allrounder HH & Holder. I purchased the Raindance Allrounder on-line at half the price ($296.40) than quoted on August 8, 2012 by Diana Romig from Dallas Kitchens & Baths. From that quote Diana failed to list the necessary Option #1 or Option #2 critical to connect to the water source. Option #1 was the wall outlet which functions as the go-between the water source and the Raindance Allrounder. Without the wall outlet the shower head would be pointless. I was not happy when this was discovered during the actual remodeling of the bathroom, so I called Diana Romig and said we need a chrome wall outlet ASAP which required my paying overnight freight at $15.00. I was relieved when it was delivered the next day and went to pick up the wall outlet where Diana Romig handed me the boxed part and I signed off on my pick up. I was expecting her to have apologized on the phone or in my presence but there was no apology. So I prompted her about her leaving this vital part out and her response was that it was “optional” and people make mistakes. When the plumber was beginning the installation he called my attention to the fact the part was brushed nickel and not chrome. Again another mistake by Diana Romig. I suspect when she was ordering the part she selected the item without clicking the correct finish since brushed nickel comes before chrome (b before c). So if you are investing in high end bath equipment and want to get the correct items ordered, save yourself grief and shop elsewhere and not Dallas Kitchens and Baths

They inspected the area where a hot water leak was suspected beneath a guest bathroom and provided a ballpark estimate which I approved before proceeding with the repairs. They located the leak and attempted to access from the side that would avoid damage to a tiled bathroom floor. Unfortunately there was a drain blocking access to the leak so they had to dig a second hole through the bathroom tile floor anyway. The located the section of copper pipe with a pin hole leak and made repairs. They refilled holes and topped with cement on both sides and prepped the area as best possible for carpet and tile replacement. The inspection, estimating, locating and repairs were all completed in one day. I was very pleased with the outcome and would not hesitate to use them again.

+ 0 moreThe company called me, gave me a 30 minute "head's up" that the plumber was on his way. He showed up right on time and went right to work investigating the source of the water that was appearing on my garage floor. Because of his experience, he was able to quickly determine that the leak was coming from the pipe bringing water up from below the slab into the water heater. The first plumber I had come out earlier today (from a different company) told me he thought it might be a nail that had been hammered in to the water pipe. Ron quickly figured that would not be the case, since he looked for and found a protective plate over the pipe. The other guy said he would have to cut out sheetrock from the dining room side of the wall to look for the source of the leak. Ron said he would cut a small piece of sheetrock out, on the garage side of the wall. Sure enough, after he removed a nice and neat section of sheetrock, he found a section of copper pipe that was corroded and had a very small pin hole worn through. He offered an explanation of the corrosion: electrolysis, since the builder in 1991 had used the water heater as the ground for the electrical system rather than properly using the ground. Ron removed the bad section of pipe, replaced it, and cleaned up all the area. Since he was so easy to work with, I also asked him if he would mind repairing a leaky bathtub faucet and clean out a stubborn sink drain for me while he was here. He said, "no problem". All total, he was here three hours. He did such a nice job cutting out the sheetrock, I think I can put the piece back and patch it up myself. I am very pleased with Ron's work and, if I ever need a plumber again, I will be calling Dallas Plumbing Co and asking for him by name.
Description of Work: I had a mysterious leak appear in the garage near the water heater. Ron had to find the source of the leak and repair it. It was starting to create damage on the inside of my dining room.

+ -1 moreI called Dallas Plumbing to ascertain the cause of a water spot on ceiling most likely due to toilet in bathroom on second floor directly above spot. Additionally to replace parts in running toilet. My initial dissatisfaction came from the slow manor in which he worked and also the number of trips to the truck for additional tools whereby slowing the job down. By my clock, he finished in 2 hours. He then went to the truck to calcualate the bill and was gone 15 minutes. The bill included labor for 2.5 hours. I expressed that it was only 2 hours, and his answer was I got here at 8:55 and now it is 11:15. I had given him a coupon from his website for $50. off. I feel as if the time on the job was drawn out and charging me for his time to calculate the bill unprofessional. After he left, I called the office to tell them my dissatisfaction. The service manager was out and is supposed to call tomorrow. I was told by the office manager that this plumber had been with them for 20 years and always got positive feedbaclk. Sometime after the call I returned to the bathroom whose flushing mechanism was to be fixed and the toilet was running about 3 times worse than it was before the repair. Upon looking inside I noticed that although he had changed some parts, he had not even touched the part of the mechanism where I indicated to him the problem. I called the office again and technician was unable to return today and is supposed to come back tomorrow.
Description of Work: Replaced O ring on one toilet. Replaced part of flushing mechanism on another toilet.

+ 0 moreWhen I finally made decision on a Wednesday to go with them, they told me it would be next Monday before they could schedule it.. However, I was concerned the leak would get worse before Monday and cause water damage if it burst, so I asked if they could move me up in the schedule, they were able schedule the appointment on Saturday morning, two days early. This was very helpful because the old water was leaking and I was not sure it would make it until Monday. The plumber (Tino) arrived and proceeded to remove the existing water heater. He was friendly and answered many questions that I had, and I usually have a lot of them when any service is being performed in my house. Before emptying the old water into my yard or in the street, he was able to send the old water down a main sewer drain pipe so no impact on the environment (my yard or the street). Tino was through in about 2 hours and got the new water heater working before leaving my house. Tino used shoe covers when in the house, and drop cloths leading to the door so the carpets or floors did not get dirty from the traffic going in and out to his truck and back. He did a very professional job.
Description of Work: Had a water heater on the fritz and had obtained 3 or 4 quotes from various A-rated plumbing companies on Angie's List. Dallas Plumbing came in the lowest cost, but also had a very competitive labor warranty (1 year) compared to the others. They actually came to my house to survey the situation and sent me a written estimate later that day via email. It is interesting that most plumbers install one main brand, and in this case, their brand was Rheem. I needed a 50 gallon electric and settled on model PRO52-2.

When Chris arrived, I showed him the report and what the buyers were asking for and explained to me what he would be doing. He went right to work and after both tests were complete he informed us we had no foundation plumbing leaks. The buyers also requested two toilets be tightened down and Chris was more than willing to do it for me while he was here. Definitely will use Dallas Plumbing in the future for any of our new home needs.
Description of Work: We are selling our home. During the inspection, the inspector thought there might be a leak under the foundation due to some cracks in the brick. Buyers wanted a complete pressure and static test of the supply lines and drainage.

+ 0 moreJohn was the technician and he came out and did a thorough inspection and estimate. He even found a leak that a previous company had missed that was causing damage to a wall and wood. He explained what needed to be done and he was honest and professional. After he obtained the parts, he came back and installed everything in a timely manner. He even described how I could install new filters which saved me some money (they are a bit difficult to reach). I was not charged for the estimate, although I had to remind them.
Description of Work: Leak fixed in condensation pump. Changed out fan blower switch. Drain pan for pump with cut off switch installed. Inspection of both units (one on roof). Checked coils and filters. Inspected outside units.

+ -1 moreThey ware called on 9/20/11 and we scheduled the time for the repairman to be at our house from 10:00 AM -1:00 PM the next day (9/21/12). I was called around 9:45 AM to let me know that they were on the way and the the gentleman showed up around 10:15 AM. The service was prompt, courteous, and professional. The problem was diagnosed quickly and the part of was available on his truck, which made for a quick repair. The repair cost was higher than I expected, but to be fair there was no way for me to know the cost of the part that had failed. Overall I was very pleased with the service and I would use them again.
Description of Work: The fan for one of our A/C units stopped working, even though the main A/C unit still seemed to be functioning properly.
