Most disappointing was the lack of awareness and amount of time it took the supervisor to figure out what happened with new employee who had a key to my yard. Also I was charged the full month although the pool was really not in swim condition for 2 weeks.

Darren came out to give me a price to redo my tile and coping. After talking with him we decided to redo everything from the plaster ,tile , coping and concrete patio surrounding pool. From start to finish Darren was there to supervise. We went with the stamped concrete and dark stain he suggested and it turned out beautiful. A crew showed up to pour concrete and when they were done they had extra and asked if there was anything else we need concrete for. My wife decide to redo our front patio. Darren gave me a fair price on the spot and within the hr. his crew had it completed the patio and it to looks great. During the plastering of the pool it dried with some cracks in it. Darren was not happy with the look and had them redo the entire pool at no cost to me. That kind of customer service and quality control is hard to find. It took all the pressure off of me and everything looks great!! I would recommend them to family and friends. I also liked the fact that I paid as I went. They would finish a portion of the project and would not ask for a payment until I was satisfied. I will certainly use them again for any future projects.

Darren Kesler came to give me an estimate. I really was uneducated about what was required in pool renovations. He helped me realize what had to be done, educated me, and told me I needed to get other estimates to reassure me that what he was telling me was true. He was willing to meet my son-in-law here and discuss with him what was needed and the best way to do it. I had four other estimates. Some were cheaper. Some were more expensive.....In the long run, it evened out in the end. I was convinced ASP was the company I wanted to use. It was worth more to have someone I trusted. They were all hard workers, working all day until their job was done. They were professional, very gracious to me, willing to explain things to me (even more than once), and cleaned up after themselves at the end of each day! I highly recommend ASP if you need a large or small renovation. Darren is a jewel and kept track of what was needed. I was able to call him for immediate questions. He returned my calls and saw to my concerns or needs. The renovations had to be done...but now we have a "new" pool to enjoy for years come. Thank you, ASP.

The end result of the pool renovation is one of quality with a price that was good for the type of work done however customer service is where it all went wrong. The project took longer than was initially estimated and there were days that went by where no one showed up and we never knew one day to the next when to expect work to be done. The sub-contractor that completed the tile work was great it was too bad that during the plaster work that a tile was knocked off and when it was replaced it was not grouted so it sticks out like a sore thumb. In the end there was a bit of a dispute with responsibility of having the pool ready when ASP turned the pool back to us. There were 10 visits planned to brush the plaster and check pool chemicals. We had asked for the salt cell to be cleaned as there appeared to be issue with the system but were told that if ASP would do that there would be an additional fee as that step was not their responsibility. We hired another company to service the salt cell and it was filled with plaster and plastic pieces which would indicate were the result of the pool renovation. I will take responsibility for some of the issues for not asking enough questions on the front end to lay down a detailed breakdown of what would occur on each day of the project so there would have been fewer surprises on our end as worked progressed.

So far we have used them to replace the pool heater as well as convert the pool to saltwater. They are very courteous and work seems to be done well. I haven't actually swam in the pool yet but it seems to be very clear.

Great work. On time and on budget. Had a slow leak in the PVC from pump to filter that I couldn't patch. They came out on time and fixed in right away at the quoted price. The repair is much better quality than the original fitting.

Exceptional. I requested a quote on Friday 5/31. Darren left me a message after hours to let me know that he had gotten my request and he would call me first thing on Monday morning. He called me as promised. We made an appointment for Tuesday 6/3 at 11:30. He called me on Tuesday to ask if we could move the appointment up to 10:30. He arrived punctually at 10:30 Was polite and knowledgeable. He gave me a quote and said that as soon as my husband and I made a decision, he could get us on their schedule. I phoned him on 6/4 to say that we would like them to so the work. We were put on the schedule for 6/5. The repairman phoned ahead to let me know what time he would arrive, he arrived when he said he would, did the job in about 3 hours. tested our water to see if we needed to add salt, checked everything and showed me how to work the new salt cell. He also rerouted one of our pipes from one of the pumps to the pool output. He cleaned up everything and did it all in a very professional manner. Everyone that I had contact with at America's swimming pool Company were exceptionally professional and courteous and knowledgeable. I was pleasantly surprised when presented with the invoice and it was for about $400 less than the quote, since there was no need for additional chemicals or work. I would highly highly recommend America's Swimming Pool Company of Dallas.

My pool pump was losing its prime. Darren talked me through some possible solutions, including lubing the o-ring on the pump filter basket. I had washed it in warm bleach water to clean it for the start of the season, not realizing how important that lubrication was. That's all it took. The pump is working fine. Thank you!!

We were not satisfied with the installation of the tile, but Herschel went the extra mile to have it corrected so we were happy with it in the end. The owner, Herschel, was always responsive, punctual and professional.

The pool need drained, refurbished/replastered, the deck repaired and the filter replaced.

The old, ugly outdated tile on my pool was falling off, and the plaster was ugly and stained and starting to separate, so it was time to finally replace it all. The pool repair technician that I have always used (from another company) who has always been honest and saved me a lot of money in the past recommended ASP for the tile and plaster job. I had also used ASP once before to diagnose a pool leak, and their guys fix it for just under $200, so between my prior experience and the technician's recommendation I called ASP. The quote came in very close to what the repair guy estimated it might be, so I had them start on it. It was a more expensive job than typical due to the abnormally large amount of tile in the pool. The owner Herschel met me and my wife at a tile place to pick out the tile, and then he used a subcontractor to demo and replace the tile. The tile guys did a great job on it installed all the tiles perfectly straight and flat and according to plan. Before he started the plaster he discovered that the plaster was separating from the base because it had been laid over a painted base and was not adhering well, so he had to do the extra step of demolishing the old plaster before pumping in the new plaster (additional cost) as opposed to laying the new plaster on top of the old plaster. Next he had a truck pump the plaster in, filled it up, and began a multi day startup process of brushing the sediment off the plaster and balancing the chemicals while the plaster cured. We ended up with a couple of stains in the plaster at first, but he knocked it out with a combination of an eraser-like attachment on a pole and some chemical treatment. Herschel and his technicians were all friendly and professional and pleasant to deal with. The pool looks so much more modern and inviting than before!

Provided excellent service. I had to leave while the service was being done. When I returned I needed to ask some questions. The repair man returned although it was after 5 pm on a saturday to answer my questions. That is very unusual. I would wholeheartedly recommend them.

I just moved into a new place with a hot tub and therefore needed the tub drained and refilled and a basic check-up on the unit. All was done expertly. Later a problem with the hot tub arose, completely unrelated to any services provided, and I called to set up a visit. When they realized it was an issue that was better solved by another service--official dealers in the somewhat unusual brand of hot tub I have--they gave a recommendation and sent the business away in the interest of customer service. That's impressive, and I felt obligated to report this unusually positive experience. If trust is important to you when hiring contracted work, this is a place that has proven worthy of it.

I initially called ASP because we moved into a new home and my husband and I had no idea how to operate or manage our pool. We noticed a few things wrong (filter was not working) and wanted them to come look at our pool. Darren was extremely helpful over the phone and gave me tips about the small problems I was seeing and ways he thought we could fix it ourselves. He also informed me about their "pool school" where they would come out and teach us how to maintain the pool. A freeze was on the way so we said we would get back in touch once the weather got nicer. Once the freeze took place, we were still having the same problem in our pool (no flow in the filter) and they had Kevin come out that very same day. I was very impressed with the level of responsiveness. Kevin was very polite and professional and came out to thaw out the pipes after the freeze. We set up an appointment for him to get the system up and running once it thawed and for the "pool school." Kevin came back the next week and answered all of our questions about the pool and did a great job explaining how everything worked. He was really knowledgeable about everything related to the pool, spa and cleaning system. He also diagnosed a leak in the pipes and then came back the following week to repair it. We have been extremely impressed with ASPs level of service, knowledge and professionalism.

Darren was very friendly and did a great job at inspecting the pool and equipment for the house we are wanting to purchase. We called him last minute and he was able to meet us the same day.

They showed up on time took out the old broken heater and replaced it with a new Pentair Gas heater. It works great and we are enjoying our spa again.

Performed major work. Entire system works great now. Really silent.

I can not say enough good things about Darren Kesler. Here is why: My daughter rented this house 3 and a half years ago. It has a pool and the landlord lives in Arizona. Because of her busy schedule, I help schedule contractors and I also pay for the pool service. I also act as her contact with the landlord. While the landlord is responsive to problems and will pay for repairs, he owns a lot of houses in Arizona and can often get parts at a better price and have them shipped to us. Since my daughter moved into this house, we have had nothing but problems from pool service providers. For awhile, she and her husband did the work themselves but her business is consuming most of her time now and her husband's health is declining so we had to find another pool service. Two years ago, we found one we thought would work but they were apparently doing poor work without our knowledge, having never had to maintain a pool before. Then, this past May, that company left a sticky note on the door that they quit. I found another company, which is listed on Angie's List. They insisted the screens in the filter needed replacing and other problems. We paid for the service and the landlord paid for the filter repair for a price of over $500. But the pool was still leaking, was never clean even right after cleaning, and the Kreepy Krawler was not crawling. The pool company said we needed a new pump and the price quote was almost $900. The landlord did not object to the labor charge but he could get the pump for much less and wanted to ship the pump and have it installed by the pool company. The pool company refused to install the pump. They wanted to install their own, which was greatly marked up. That's when I came to Angie's List and found Darren with America's Swimming Pool Co of Dallas. That very day, he went to the house to inspect the pool and did a temporary repair to fix the leaky pump until the landlord sends the new pump. He did not charge for that work. In three weeks, the repair is still holding! We should have the new pump soon and Darren will install it without insisting that he sell it to us. His labor quote for installation is very reasonable. I am cancelling the previous service and will be contracting with ASP for all of our pool service!!

I had emailed the company a couple of weeks ago detailing the work I needed performed. They had some issues with their email server and didn't actually see the email until the day the Herschel left a message on my phone. I called back, leaving a message and Darren Kelser promptly returned my call. We set up and appointment for the next day to have him come out and look at what I needed done. Additionally they will be quoting a remodeling project for my pool and deck. The next day Darren arrived promptly for the appt. We discussed the work I needed completed. He indicated he could begin the next day. On the day the work was to be performed Darren and his associate arrived on time and began work immediately. It only took a few hours to do the majority of the work. Most of the plumbing was completed the first day. He did have a couple of small leaks that he needed to fix but was short a necessary fitting. Additionally we had decided to replace the 2 timer boxes which were not originally planned so he needed to also pick the new dual timer box up. He returned promptly the following day and completed the final installation details. All work performed was clean and professional. I was very satisfied with the work performed and the professionalism shown. I would use this provider again in the future.

It went fantastic. The old concrete deck, skimmer and slide was all cleaned up and hauled away. They did such a good job with the repair where they closed the old skimmer you can hardly tell it had a skimmer there. When the job was all done we discovered the plate for the vacuum hose would not fit in the skimmer. After a little modifying (grinding) they were able to get it to work. Then Darren noticed bubbles coming out of the outlet jets, which told him there was a leak somewhere. He checked out my pump and found the inlet line was causing the leak. A little silicone sealant later and no more leak. So not only did they fix what they were contracted for, they went above and beyond. And the job was not done until they asked me if I was satisfied and I was completely!

Next day service, installed on Saturday. Clean, efficient, professional, knew what I wanted and installed it perfectly. It is an existing pool and we needed a rail to help with getting into and out of the pool.

Darren came out and evaluated the situation. Pump had not been running due to cracked pvc lines. He inspected fittings and pad and gave us a quote to replace all the above ground plumbing and build a new concrete equipment pad as the pump was sinking in the soil. Darren came out and performed the work and everything was too my satisfaction. I would gladly work with ASP again!

ORIGINAL REVIEW The owner Herschel came in and did the estimate and then they did a more detailed estimate with a few revisions. We agreed to the price and they were able to start the next day. The crew that did all the prep work was 3 guys and they were very professional and easy to work with. They also brought in a large crew on on the final day to do the plaster work. Here is a run down of the job on each day. On Day 1 they drained the pool and removed the old tiles (The pool was green when they started so they had to do extra cleanup) On Day 2 they continued prep work of the surface and crack and started adding the new tiles On Day 3 Finished the Tile work and worked on the crack On Day 4 Finished the grout and worked on the deck including acid washing and putting mastic with sand in the joints On Day 5 The plaster crew came in and did the plaster work which took about 4 hours. The crew was easy to work with, polite and caring about the quality and professionalism of the job. They also kept the job site clean while onsite and ensured they bagged up any trash each day.
