I usually do all my pool maintenance myself but occasionally I have a job that I either can't or don't want to do. My pool pump died and I went out and bought a new one and new seals for the impeller. After I put it all together and mounted it in place I found the wiring barely reached the new pump. I had to pull the wires so hard that I pulled one out of the timer switch. Also, the insulation on these wires was dried out and brittle so I called ASP to have it rewired. A gentleman named Bryan came out the same day I called and installed a new conduit kit leaving plenty of wire so that this doesn't happen again. Once the pump was running he noticed a noise coming from the impeller. He took it apart and applied lubricant to the seals and all was well. This is the second time I hired ASP this year and both times they sent someone with at least 2 decades of pool maintenance experience. They really know their pools and the folks at the office are great to work with also. I will not hesitate to call ASP whenever a job comes up that I can't or won't do.

I bought a big deal for this service. They tried to charge me a pretty high price because of a swimming pool part. I found a much lower price elsewhere. It was common quality, not excellent. They were pretty responsive. After the service request we didn't really talk to each other. I did not really talk to the company much. I only used them this one time. I did not contact them again after that.

Other than being late for pool school, they have done a very solid job of pool maintenace.

Bryan arrived as scheduled, calling first to tell me he was on his way. He quickly assessed my problem and resolved it to my complete satisfaction. He explained his work and gave me some useful tips for the ongoing care of my equipment. This is the kind of service you want; thorough work performed by a knowledgeable and courteous professional. Prior to joining Angie's list I had many bad experiences with various pool repair and cleaning companies. I believe those problems are over. America's Swimming Pools of Dallas will be getting all my future business.

The water in my pool was at least 20 years old and possibly 34 years old. It needed to be drained a couple of years ago but couldn't due to 5 years into a severe drought. As a result the water would no longer respond to chemical maintenance and turned into a giant bowl of green slime. I contacted America's Swimming Pool Co. of Dallas on Thursday, 6/4/2015. They said they could come out early next week to drain and clean the pool. Darren at the office called me back almost immediately and said they were renovating another pool in my area and could come out the next morning to start the work. A team led by a gentleman named Carmen showed up at 7:30 the next morning and started draining my pool using 2 pumps and long hoses, draining into the cleanout and pool connections to the main sewer. They returned later in the afternoon and started cleaning the exposed parts of the pool as it continued draining. They did a chlorine wash rather than a power wash and this cleaned the pool very nicely. They would have finished in 1 day but I decided to have the plaster and tile work done while the pool was drained. They returned the next day with tiles that matched mine perfectly and completed the work. My pool hasn't looked this good since it was new. Before they left they put the hose in to start filling up the pool. I said I would probably turn it off while I was sleeping but Carmen said to let it run all night. He said the pool would fill up at 6:00pm the next evening. Amazingly, the pool finished filling up right at 6:00pm the next evening. Carmen really knows his stuff. It took approximately 28 hours to fill. Darren called the following Monday to be sure all was OK and I was satisfied with the work. I assured him I was. Both the team that did the work and the folks at the office were a pleasure to work with. I am very pleased with my entire experience with America's Swimming Pool Co. of Dallas and would not hesitate to hire them again should the need arise.

Bryan was excellent. He ran a little late, but I'll still give him an A for punctuality because ASP was very accomodating with my schedule. The problem with the controller was diagnosed quickly. Unfortunately, ASP's estimate for the repair part and installation (a 10 minute plug 'n play job) would cost me $150 more than Leslie's and nearly $300 more than buying online and installing it myself. Sooooo ... That's why I rated price a C and said I wouldn't use them again. It was all about price. I understand that they can't compete with online shopping, but they were 60% more than online! I was actually very happy with Dave on the phone, and Bryan's service. So this is NOT a service problem.

The install went well. The work took about 1hr and 45 mins. Everything is working well. The technician was very nice and punctual. I will be calling them in the future to fix any additional pool problems.

As a recent arrival and homeowner in Dallas, I'm getting a great deal of experience hiring services companies. America's Swimming Pool Co stands head and shoulders above all the others --- not just pool companies, but home services companies of every type. They are by far the most responsive. When I signed a contract for weekly service, they did a cleaning immediately so I could use the pool that weekend. I don't mean the next day. I mean 2 minutes after I signed. The follow-up weekly service showed up four days later. When they diagnosed the heater failure they gave me an estimate and then fixed it the very next day. All of their employees are very knowledgable and courteous. They are a pleasure to work with. The company is electronically enabled. I get an after-service report on the pool after every weekly service. I wish every home services company in Dallas were as good as this one. It would make my life so much easier. What I'd give just to have those OTHER companies show up for their appointments on time and prepared!

Everyone was so professional and easy to work with before, during and after the remodeling of our pool. Robert, the project manager, took time to drop by samples of stones and was very good at staying on top of the project's progression. Darren, who provided the estimate and was my initial contact was extremely prompt in returning my phone calls and emails. They were also very helpful in resolving some other small matters related to the pool's functions and even fixed a leak in my irrigation system. It was a pleasure doing business with this company because everything they said they would do was done and I didn't feel like I had to worry whether it would get done. I would recommend this company to anyone.

r againBrian checked the pool's chemical levels as well as the filtration system. He also made minor repairs to the electrical system as well as the pool heater, which saved me a lot of money. I would definitely recommend using this vendor again.

There were several steps to this project and our ASP Project Manager, Darren Kessler, kept the job moving and kept us informed every step of the way. He is very knowledgeable and responsive and we are very happy with the outcome. The pool is beautiful. They were reasonably priced and did a good job... I would definitely use them again.

They cleaned the pump and repaired it for much less than I had expected. They did a great job.

From the start it was clear Darren knew his stuff. He brought incredible energy and expertise to our project. He had the basics perfect, he turned up when he said he would and he delivered exactly what he promised. His price was very fair in fact he made every accommodation to help us understand the pricing in detail. Several times during the project he provided incredible input into stone and tile selection that proved invaluable. All the team he used from demolition to concrete stamping were exceptional and all were 100% committed to delivering top quality finishes. During the early part of the project Darren came to supervise pretty much every day. He called me regularly to touch base and make sure we were happy with progress. Any time we raised a question or a concern he immediately put all his energy into getting the matter resolved. Many issues that came up Darren had them resolved before I had even noticed them his judgement was spot on. Our objective was to transform our back yard into an outdoor oasis. Darren and ASP delivered on that, in fact they over delivered if I am to be honest. I would have no hesitation in recommending Darren and ASP for swimming pool renovation. One final note, even though ASP don't provide a weekly pool service in Southlake he went to great trouble to connect us with a really great local provider - nice touch, Darren!

My 1st experience with renovating a pool and what a great experience. Darren was my contact. He was upfront and honest about ideas I had. During the entire process he was always available to answer questions. The job they did is amazing. Its a completely different pool. My family and I will get many more years of enjoyment thanks to ASP. I would give them 5 stars without a question

The initial contact with ASP was very pleasant. Darren, the sales manager, came out and talked with us and gave us an estimate that seemed thorough (because we already knew pretty much want we wanted), and fairly well-priced. We had already spoken to about 7-8 other companies, and those bids were kind of all over the place, but mainly because many included changing a lot more round the pool, and most of the other ones included some sort of landscaping and renovation of the area surrounding the pool (the wooden deck, the concrete deck, etc.)-- but ASP did not include any of those things because they do not do any of those things. And that was fine for us because we decided to just do the pool for now, and concentrate on the surrounding area later. Here's the first problem with ASP: you kind of have to know what you already want, or at least be happy with "basic/ simple" renovations, because that really is all that they are capable of doing. There is absolutely ZERO design element to their renovations-- they know how to take something that is already there and update it-- they can change the existing surface (we had plaster/ fiberglass and changed it to a "Pebble-tec"-like, more natural surface), they can change the tile, they can change the coping, etc. But there is nothing else from a design standpoint that they even offer. Basically, this is because all that ASP is doing, really, is functioning as a General Contractor-- they do not do ANY of the work themselves (re-surfacing/ tile/ coping, etc.-- even electric work-- is all done by sub-contractors that ASP hires). I don't think that this is necessarily a horrible thing, but now having been through the process I can see where having a company that actually employes all of its workers themselves would have definite benefit, especially from a quality standpoint. The next BIG problem with ASP was their thoroughness. Listen, Darren was (is) a VERY nice guy-- I really liked him a lot, which is one of the reasons that we hired ASP. But he is not very thorough and doesn't seem to write anything down, so there were a lot of times where we had to talk about the same things more than once. And he's pretty "loosey-goosey" with his responses, and especially his time-lines. There was VERY little direction and/or guidelines on the timeline of the project, and when they would need certain decisions (for example, he called us the day before they were supposed to start the tile and asked if we had chosen a tile yet). The entire renovation process required A LOT of attention on our part, because there was VERY LITTLE communication (unless we were the ones asking/ emailing/ calling/ texting, etc. to find out what was going on). Overall, Darren is a very good sales person, but his is a really poor Project Manager. (Here's what I will "give them", for full disclosure-- the way that Darren/ASP worked may be just fine with "typical" customers: however, my husband has worked in commercial real estate for over 25 years, so his knowledge-- and expectations-- of working with contractors is much higher. But Darren knew this, and it really wasn't that big of an issue as long as I stayed involved.) That was, until the end, when the renovation was supposedly "complete". That was in June-- around June 20, 2014. Today it October 20, 2014, and we have been working with ASP for 4 months trying get our pool "right". After trying to be patient and give ASP every opportunity possible to make things "right", we have finally given up. We are convinced that not only do they not really care about the work they do, they simply do not have the knowledge or expertise to actually do it. So, even if they did care, they are NOT CAPABLE of doing it because they don't really know how it all works. In the end, all I can say is this: if you have a larger project or anything that requires anything beyond very basic pool renovation, DO NOT USE ASP POOL CO. of Dallas! Even if you have to pay a little more, it will be WELL worth it in the long run to avoid the frustration, not to mention the tremendous amount of extra time we have spent having to deal with this renovation. ASP Pool company should have been upfront with us and told us at the time of the proposal that our project was beyond their scope of expertise-- but they didn't. Instead, we have spent over $50,000 to figure this out ourselves, and our pool STILL is not what it should be.

I called America's Swimming Pool and talked to a man over the phone (don't remember his name). I told him that I just moved into a house that had a pool that needed some work. He told me they had a "green to clean" program that was $98/hour and typically took between 1-4 hours. He told me that they could send someone out for free to do a basic inspection but that if it required a lot of work they would have to send out an assessment guy and that it would cost $150 but that I would have a comprehensive list of what was required to get the pool up and running. I told him that I would need an assessment done because the pool light was out and the spa did not have heat run to it. Darren came out and was on time, professional and nice. He said that he would quote it and provide a break down of all the items, line by line. There were several things I asked him to quote that weren't necessary (replacing the coping around the pool, removing a water feature, etc) but that I wanted to know the price of. I got the quote and several of the items seemed high but there was a note at the bottom of the quote that said it needed to be drained and cleaned before they could provide a more accurate quote. Draining and cleaning the pool on the quote was $350. I emailed Darren and told him that I would like to drain and clean the pool for the $350 and then re-evaluate the pool condition. He emailed back and said that was the price for cleaning if I agreed to all other repairs. He said that to drain and clean my pool that he would normally charge $1500 but that he would do it for $900. Darren was nice, but I feel like there's been a bit of a bait and switch. They did waive the $150 assessment fee but I won't be using this company.

As noted above, Darren and his crew were very prompt, and did terrific work and when all is said and done, they saved us a lot of money. As a result of this work, they will be doing our monthly pool service as well.

They were great to work with, again! I was happy to use their service. They were polite and professional. They cleaned up well after themselves. They came to the appointment punctually.

Called at 4:50 on Friday afternoon with no expectation of quick service since it is high season pool time. But, I was happy to hear I would either get a call or a service tech on Monday. As told, Brian came at 1 on Monday. He evaluated my cracked & spewing filter as needing to be replaced. He immediately gave me an estimate to replace it with a comparable filter. Retrieved the new filter and removed the old filter, installed the new filter, and we were up and running again by 4:30. Very clean work. Will use again.
