I did not like them very much. I felt they were trying to make me buy equipment that was not needed. I felt obligated to use them since we had bought a service agreement through them and they were trying to guilt me into buying new equipment. They had sent 2 people in a month telling me the same thing; that I needed to buy a air conditioner.

Our fridge/freezer died (freezer side not cooling) so checked Angie's list and called these folks based on the reviews. Was told the service call would be $79 plus whatever parts/labor needed, or I could sign up for $169 annual plan that covers major appliances and spring/fall heater/ac check. It was very low-key, not a hard sell and sounded good since we have an older house/older appliances. Was given "after 12 noon" for the next day (Wednesday). Serviceman showed up about 1:30, in uniform, very courteous and professional. Did a bit of checking on the fridge, told us the motor's dead, estimated $397 just for the part, etc. So we need a new fridge. Serviceman gave us some tips on where to shop and pro and con of various types. Overall very pleased! Thanks Angie's list, you just paid back your membership fee.

They came out and installed a part at a cost of $380.00 that was supposed to fix the problem. It didn't and they sent another technician out who said that we needed another part at an additional cost of $300.00, but they couldn't promise that would fix it. They recommended replacing the 20 year old unit. I agreed, but couldn't afford the replacement cost. Since we have dual systems in the house, we decided to wait a while to replace this heater. The service manager agreed and refunded us in full for the initial $380.00 we spent. They were very fair and professional.

The washer was not repairable, but the tech did a thorough job. Well worth the service fee.

Great. The technician, Simon, was able to come out that day and find the problem.

We had set up a service contract with them for our HVAC system and for an ultraviolet system for 12 years parts and labor. Two of four of the bulbs burned out in June the service man who came out said there would be a charge for the bulbs. I refused to pay because of the service agreement. The company was trying to say that bulbs are not parts so I have to pay to replace them. I refused to pay for them so they left. The unit ended up having to be shut down. Finally in December after discussing with the finance company (American General Finance Services) to stop payment they sent someone out fix the situation once he got here took a look at the system and found that the system had burned out, and that the bulbs were still not apart of the service contract. I have not seen/heard from them since. Someone was supposed to come out for winter service and we have not seen them for that as well.

Repair man arrived more or less on time; figured out problem but took a very, very long time with calls back to the main office. Reason was relatively simple: damper that controls the amount of cold air from freezer to refrigerator side not working. Had to come back because needed to get a part, the damper. OK so far, but trying to schedule the next step was a complete nightmare, including the repairman not writing down the number of the part needed, and when I called them about the schedule I had to go home and figure out the part number and call them again. Never once after this did they call me to try to set an appointment, even though I called them several time--they just put me off. Finally I bought the part myself for about $75 and installed it myself in about 20 minutes...they charged me $75.72 to figure out the problem and were going to charge me about $250.00 to install the part. I had agreed to the estimate; my dispute is not the high price, but the horrible service.

This year, upon inspection of the heating units, the technician insisted that two of our three heating units were unsafe to operate because of high carbon monoxide emissions from the furnaces. He made me sign a warning statement he submitted and tried to insist that I install new units immediately. I deferred purchase of new units and had another company evaluate the equipment. The second company advised that, although the units were old and would need replacing in the not-too-distant future, there were no unsafe levels of carbon monoxide being produced by them. I purchased some little household carbon monoxide indicators that also show that no carbon monoxide is being emitted into our home by the old heaters. I just hate incompetence, but I hate dishonesty even more.

DO NOT USE ABC APPLIANCE! We have a 2-year-old GE fridge/freezer which was not cooling. This was our first occasion to use Angie's List. My wife called ABC Appliance from the recommendations. They came out and told my wife that we needed a new control panel. They charged us $70 and wanted $250 for a new control panel. I had the GE people come out today. The repair person showed me that the defroster was not working and it had nothing to do with the control panel. ABC Appliance did work with us a few years ago when we had American Home Shield. This company is incompetent, DO NOT USE.

They came same day, did the job, and were effective. This is the second time weve used them for a large appliance job, and they were great both times.

Both gentlemen sent out by the company were polite and thorough. I would recommend them to others for repair work.

THEY USE SEVERAL SUB-CONTRACTORS UNDER THE SAME NAME, & ALL OF THEM ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE & SEEM TO DO VERY GOOD WORK. THEY ARE VERY QUICK TO RETURN CALLS & GET OUT FOR THE APPOINTMENT.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. THE TECHNICIAN CAME PROMPTLY AND WAS PROFESSIONAL. WHEN THE DISHWASHER BROKE AGAIN, THEY QUICKLY RETURNED TO CORRECT PROBLEM AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.

REPAIRS WERE MADE ON A TIMELY BASIS. THE REPAIRMAN WAS COURTEOUS AND THOROUGH AND RECOMMENDED PREVENTIVE TYPE SERVICE OF WHICH WE WERE NOT AWARE.

THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED ON TIME AND WAS VERY NICE. HE RECOMMENDED THAT WE NOT REPAIR THE WASHER DUE TO THE COST AND THE AGE OF THE WASHER. THEY DON'T SELL WASHERS, SO HE WAS LOSING MONEY BY SAYING THAT.

ON TIME, POLITE, CLEAN, VERY GOOD DEAL, PROFESSIONAL.

THE TECHNICIAN CAME TO PERFORM ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON OUR HEAT PUMP SYSTEM. I HAD EXPLAINED TO THE DISPATCHER THAT WE WERE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE UNIT. AFTER I EXPLAINED THIS TO THE TECH, HE DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM WITH THE MOTOR IN THE HEAT PUMP UNIT ITSELF. THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND ONE WEEK LATER RETURNED TO REPLACE IT. IT WAS COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY AND SERVICE PLAN SO THERE WAS NO OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE ON OUR PART.

THE FIRST ''TECH'' THAT CAME OUT WAS JUST A SALESMAN. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW A/C CORE. THE REAL TECH THAT CAME OUT SAID THAT HE HAD CLEARED THE LINE WITH A SHOT OF AIR! WHILE I PROBABLY NEEDED THE CORE EVENTUALLY, I WOULD HAVE GREATLY APPRECIATED THE OPTION OF CLEARING THE LINE WITH AIR AND COMING BACK FOR THE CORE. I FELT LIKE I HAD BEEN DUPED. THE ''NEW'' DRIP LINE JUST FALLS OUT OF THE EAVE OF THE HOUSE, DRIPPING AND SPLATTERING ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE, NICE WORK FELLAS. THEY DID MAKE ME A SLIGHT DISCOUNT ON THE FULL PRICE, BUT WHAT GOOD IS THAT IF I DIDN'T REALLY NEED THE WORK!?

THEY SEND REMINDER CARDS TO TELL ME ITS TIME. THEY SEEM HONEST. THEY DONT TELL ME I NEED WORK THAT I REALLY DONT NEED.

ON TIME, REASONABLY PRICED, VERY NICE PERSON.
