Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal from Angie's List but when I called to set up an appointment I was transferred to Handyman Matters of Fort Worth. I wrote a review for the Fort Worth location but still get on-line requests from Angie's List to publish a review of Handyman Matters of Dallas, since I had purchased the Big Deal through them. Since I am unable to use the 'n/a' for overall experience, I gave 4 stars for overall experience, only because I was transferred to the Fort Worth location.

Description of Work: We were going to have a small update for our kitchen and thought this might fit. We were going to have them do some kitchen cabinet cleaning and re-oiling. However, we ended up with a much larger project (surprise!) and no longer needed "just" a handyman service. We ended up doing a total refinish on the cabinets plus a lot of other extensive work on the kitchen.

Description of Work: I called him to see if he could change our kind size bed down to a queen size. He did come and checked it our but He didn't think it would look okey or be very cost effecient idea. Then I called him to see if he could change the size of a TVstand and he again was very good at explaining that he didn't think it would look good. I appreciated his explation. Description of Work: They installed some magnets on my cabinet doors in the hopes that it would keep my cat from opening it. They also sealed around the windows to keep air and water from coming in.

Description of Work: The carpenter came in to fix two thresholds and to create a cut out on a wall. 2 hours worth of work. He worked quickly and quietly. Very Professional.

Description of Work: Phenomenal service! I had a curtain rod hung(VERY HEAVY ONE), pictures hung, front door handle fixed, electrical outlets fixed, etc...Loved them!!

Description of Work: I purchased this service on Angie's Deals. I was very pleased with Joe Fidanza's work. He installed a cabinet in the bathroom, also hung a hand towel rack, and did caluking in the bathroom and kitchen. He was most professional and did a great job. I would ask for him again.

Description of Work: Had purchased the big deal for 2 hours of handyman services. Had purchased 3 ceiling fans to replace old ones. Rod showed up on time, actually called to come early. He only got 2 of the 3 fans installed, but stayed over the 2 hr limit to complete the second one. He was very professional. Would recommend them and would use them again myself.

Description of Work: Job was to remove kitchen door and storm door and hang new kitchen door with built in doggie door. This is obviously something I can't do myself or I wouldn't have called them, so I expected to pay a fair price. Since the cost is by the hour, it got to be a little frustrating when the repair guy kept telling me that he wasn't sure if he could do it or not! He took a looooong time to put the new door on. He was supposed to paint the outside frame too, but he told me it would take a couple of hours and I thought if I didn't stop this madness I would end up spending a thousand bucks to have a door hung. So I told him never mind. As it was, countng the Big Deal I bought o $200 worth of work for $100, I spent upwards of $500. I also wanted to get an idea/estmate on adding a gate to an existing fence to make a dog run. He couldn't help me with that (what exactly is it that handymen do these days?) I gave the owner this feedback in response to an email/phone message she sent me. She did call me back and gave an explanation, and said that they would waive the service call fee next time, and I told her that my point wasn't to turn them in to Angies List or anything list that. However, when talking to friends, they thought I should provide feedback so that people will know. Bottom line--this is a pretty pricey company.

Description of Work: Deshon set up a 12' round above ground pool and the saltwater pump/filtration system for it. I knew he hadn't done it before, but he said he thought he could do it. So he read & understood the instruction and was able to manhandle some heavy stuff and we went to get the chemicals (salt & something else) together because I just couldn't comprehend the instructions. But he did. I was more than pleased with him. He was professional, capable, personable & clean cut. I'm definitely having him back soon to hang 200' of party lights in my back yard. And again for a half day of honey-dos.

As the conversation continued It was suggested that they could come out and take care of a minor job and then would give me and estimate for what I originally wanted as long as they would be getting paid by the hour.
