he fixed everything perfectly in about 15-30 mins. he was very professional and made me feel comfortable since Im a single lady in the home he accommodated my schedule quickly

Dave called first and was prompt with his arrival time. Was having problems re-installing a water filter for my Kenmore refrigerator, turns out that prior installation by relative was incorrect. Dave gave very good education on the proper way to install the filter and how to bleed the air out of the system after installing new filter. Only charged for service call. Would definitely use Dave again for any home appliance repair and highly recommend him to anyone. Joked with him that he lived up to his Angie's List grade of A+, and he did.

Over the phone, this company's polite man told me that by my description of my upright freezer, that I should buy a new one. He could have suggested that he come out and look (which would have included a $69 charge) but he didn't. I really liked that. I have written his company name and phone number on my list of servicemen to call. I would recommend this company, seems to be very honest.

Dave showed up on time and was very professional and friendly. Defiantly will use him again.

Both issues were resolved quickly (under an hour) and he was incredibly nice, polite and neat.

This is the third time we have used Dave. Once for our dryer, then our refrigerator and now our GE stove. Dave is very professional, works efficently and had the part in his van. When we had trouble with our dishwasher Dave felt that it was not worth repairing as it was at least 15 years old. He gave us his thoughts on brands to review which I greatly appreciated.

I highly recommend Star Appliance Service. Mr. Messick, the owner, came himself. He gave me a two-hour window of arrival and came at the beginning of the window (a first for me with any repair person). Very professional. The refrigerator had stopped cooling. Also, one of the door handles had broken off. He found the problem through an electronic diagnostic test. He had the part needed and replaced it and was gone within one hour. While waiting for the test to complete itself, he went online and found a nearby company that carried the correct door handle kit. I hadn't even asked him to do that. Service beyond the call.

Arrived on time....checked out the loud noisy dishwasher and let us know is was time to replace. Very professional, will use again.

He came on time, actually he came early and he called beforehand. He came out and took care of my washing machine. It took him about 10 minutes. It was exactly what he said it would be. I would most definitely use him again. He was very polite and was personable too.

Dryer had been making a loud squealing noise (metal on metal). Finally quit working. Star Appliance came out diagnosed problem as unbalanced wheel that made axle cone-shaped instead of round. Came on Thursday, ordered part, returned Monday to fix. Dryer is like new.

I called Star Appliance late in the morning and left a message. David Messick returned my call and arranged to come to my house that afternoon. He arrived between 2:30 and 3:00 and within an hour had determined the cause of the oven not coming on at all times and emitting gas at times. He replaced the igniter, which he had in his vehicle, unclogged one of the burners that was not functioning very well, and was gone within an hour. Very professional and very courteous.

I called Dave after reading the reviews here. He returned my call very promptly and when I told him my machine sounded like a helicopter ready to take off, he explained what was wrong with it. He said that having done these repairs for many years, he knew what it was and about how much it would cost. He said he would be happy to come by to check but he was so sure that it only makes sense to start looking for appliance sales. I dont know many people who would try to save you a house visit fee and tell you it will cost as much to fix a machine as it will to buy one. I will use him in the future.

I called the provider on Monday and scheduled for repairman to come out the following morning. I received a call about 8:30 on Tuesday informing me that Dave would arrive around 9:00. He was punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable about my 25 yr old unit. One burner was not heating and the downdraft switch had gone out. Dave explained that they no longer make parts for this unit and I immediately began asking for recommendations about purchasing a new unit. He chuckled and said he may have a something in his bag to fix my unit if I wasn't ready to make a new purchase. Within 45 minutes I had a working burner and new downdraft fan switch installed. I was thrilled that I didn't have to replace the unit!! I highly recommend Dave and Star Appliance to anyone who is looking to repair a large appliance.

David Messick called me back very quickly and we arranged a time for him to come the next morning. Rusty water was collecting at the bottom of the refrigerator. He identified the problem resulting from a hole that had been created from a rusted drain pan in the defrost section. I also had him look at the bottom drawer because it was difficult to open and shut. One of the metal arms had rust on it preventing it from sliding easily. Shortly after he left, I received a phone call that he had found the drain pan in stock at a parts place near the airport and would not have to order it. He came out the very next day and installed the part. There were no replacement parts for the metal arm on the bottom drawer. David offered to remove the rust and apply a silicon substance that helped the drawer slide in and out much better. I really appreciated his extra effort to help.I would definitely call him again.

Waited a half hour for ME to arrive, not me waiting for him. Super nice, had all the parts on the truck. Saved me a ton of money.

Received same day service. He called me before arrival and was even early. He explained what had happened, advised what the repair would be, how much it would cost. Performed the work in a timely manner, and I was very impressed with his professionalism. Left the workspace cleaner than when he arrived. I will definitely use him again and recommend him to others. I fogot to ask about an Angies list discount.

He basically told me that the dryer was old and worn out. He could fix it, but I could buy a new one for the same amount.

Called for service in the morning. Techician was on site within an hour. Left for a part and the oven was repaired shortly after noon. What a stellar service this was. Very high accolade for this repair!

David returned my call promptly, upon which I told him the washer symptoms, the model (WhirlPool Duet Front-Loader), the error message (F2), and the meaning of the error message (clogged drain/filter), which I read in the manual . He then explained that he did not work on front-loading units. And I asked, and quot;What? Who does?and quot; His reply, and quot;No one. You will have to call the WhirlPool Service Center.and quot; Firstly, recommending that I call the service center was the most expensive thing that he could have recommended! Most service people have contacts that they can refer you to. Secondly, who DOESN'T work on front-loaders. Every serviceman that returned my earlier calls after our conversation said he was nuts. Thirdly, it was AFTER I told him that it was a clogged drain when he told me he didn't work on front-loaders! Either he didn't feel like opening up the front panel and cleaning the drain (literally a 15 minute job) was worth his time, or the fact that I had read the manual and done the troubleshooting indicated that I would be attentive to what he charged me. Even if there was some other reason for his approach, there are exactly ZERO scenarios where this is good, honest business! Now I'm going to give my HELPFUL service repairman an A review...

I called Star Appliance about my dishwasher not working. Dave offered to come out that day but I couldn't take time off from work so quickly. We arranged a time to meet the following day. Dave called me 30 minutes prior to his arrival at my home so that I could continue working as long as possible. After he arrived, Dave quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it within 20 minutes. Very prompt and professional service. I have used him several times in the past and will continue to use him in the future.

My Whirlpool refrigerator is not cool enough so i called Star Appliance Service and scheduled Dave to come out two days later.He called back next day and told me he has schedule conflict and need to reschedule (?) so we decide to have him come that same day. He came in with the Amp meter and check the compressor .After 5 minutes, he told me the compressor failed and not put out enough power to cool the fridge. He told me there is not much we can do about it. He told me i need a new fridge because i would not worthy to change the compressor and charged me a trip fee. I was surprised because the fridge only 3 or 4 years old. He seemed to be in a hurry so i pay him the trip fee and he left hastily . The whole process takes about 15 minutes max. He was punctual and sounds knowledgeable but i had a feeling that he did not want to change the compressor since it does take a bit of work and not worthy his time.He just wants to get the trip charge fee and move on to another customer or maybe he does not know how to replace the compressor. I called another appliance repair company and they replaced the compressor with the 1/4 cost of the new fridge. If you look through other reviews, you will see he would recommend a lot of customers to get a new fridge for all sort of problems. The bottom line is if you want someone to tell you what wrong and fix little issues,he probably is the one but if you are on tight budget and need someone to really fix and save you money, he is probably not . Use your own judgement if you decide to hire someone. P.S: This my personal review on my experience and I am not indicating or implying anything about Dave expertise and knowledge.

David was very prompt in returning my call and was on time for the appointment. After checking our machine, he said that even though it was only 7 yrs. old, it wasn't worth spending any money on it. He is VERY knowledgeable and spent time with us advising us about the new washing machines. He was very professional and caring. I would definitely recommend him and will call him in the future for any other appliance repair that we might need.

Called at about 9:30 and and service was done at 11:30am on SAME DAY. Friendly, professional, provided good info on what the problem was and how to avoid same problem in the future. Fair charge.
