Response from Mr Cool Air Conditioning & Heating
Hello sir : I am so sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with our services. I know it has been over 3 months since we serviced your air conditioner on 3-31-15 and you may not recall the events. First, I drove an hour looking for your previous address in Humble because your Angie’s list profile was not updated. Once I arrived at your new address in downtown Houston, you had a family member let me in since you were not available. I inspected your A/C and saw that you were low on Freon. Even though I had already lost an hour looking for your old house, I proceeded to check for leaks but was unable to find the leak. I checked on the outside unit, opened the evaporator coil in the attic and checked it as well. When you arrived to the house I had already finished checking for leaks, closed and re-sealed the evaporator coil. I did all this and explained to you what I had done. Most of the time we do find the Freon leaks. Even with our great leak detectors, sometimes we are unable to find them. It can be either that the leak is too small or in a place where the leak detector cannot reach. I do not recommend replacing parts without being certain of where the leak is. If the system is too old we do recommend replacing it when we cannot find the leak. Your system is fairly new and I did not feel comfortable making that recommendation. What we normally recommend is to charge the unit with refrigerant and re-check for leaks the next time we are out to the house, hoping any possible leak has gotten big enough to find. I would have loved it if I would have found the leak in your system and been able to do the repairs. This is what our business runs on. It is frustrating for us when we check for leaks and cannot find them. Looking back at all that was done when we serviced your system I can’t think of anything that I would have done differently. Again, I am sorry that you were not satisfied. Sincerely, Walter
