Diaz Services Air Conditioning & Heating

We noticed a problem with one of our AC units not cooling properly and called Mike Diaz late in the afternoon. He returned the call promptly and scheduled us for the next day. He checked both units, added freon and was great to deal with plus good advice on the coming changes to AC equipment based on government regulations.

Diaz is awesome. We first used them to fix the downstairs AC (Lennox- Control Panel) after going through 3 other companies. One that left our fan blower on so we could get AC, but killed our eletrical bill by not shutting off when not in use. Diaz came on the same day services was requested and had it fixed. Same for the upstairs AC; called on day 1 and fixed on day 1. Highly recommend. Great guy and best AC service.

I called Diaz Services the day after discovering my downstairs A/C unit was not working. I noticed that my outside unit (compressor, fan) seemed to be working fine, but when the A/C was turned on, the blower that sends cold air through the ducts was not running. Over the phone, Mike had narrowed my problem down and when he got to my house (on time), he decided that a capacitor for the blower fan was bad. He went out to his truck and came back in with the part and had it installed and had wonderful chilly air billowing out of the vents within 30 minutes of his arrival. Mike was very willing to work with me on scheduling his service call such that my unit was only down about 24 hrs. He also made suggestions that I could do myself to improve the efficiency and safe operation of the A/C unit (i.e. - he didn't try to PUSH those or any beyond scope services on me). I'll have to say that this was my best HVAC contractor experience in the 15 years that I've owned a home. From this experience, Diaz Services is our go-to HVAC professional. The promotional magnet with their phone number he gave me is stuck on the unit so I'll remember. Thanks Mike!

Mr. Diaz responded promptly to my question via Angies List messaging. It was the day after Christmas and we returned to the heater not cycling on for more than a minute before cycling off. Mr. Diaz responded, confirmed his ability to service Lennox and scheduled an appointment the same day (the day after Christmas). He was courtesy, knowledgeable and quick to troubleshoot the system and fix the issue. Diaz will be my goto AC contractor moving forward.

The entire installation went really well. We were never completely without AC since we have two systems for our house. Mike arrived at around 10:00 a.m. each day and worked until about 7:00 p.m. each day (in the heat of August!). Mike and his assistants were very courteous and professional in everything that they did.

Our air went out late Sat afternoon and the house was a scorching 83 degrees in the evenings nod it got to 95 in the day. I called Mike at 8am Sun, he scheduled me for the afternoon and got our air conditioning working in no time. He still needs to come back and do more work cause it was in bad shape so he scheduled us for later in the week. He made sure we would have a cool home until he could come back. Mike is very knowledgable, pleasant and professional. I highly recommend him!

I have been using his services for about three or four years. Mike Diaz, the owner, has always been the one who has come out to perform the work. He has worked out very well. He lives in Cypress and he is very responsive to residents in the area. He is not the cheapest, but he is not going to fix something that you don’t need repaired. He is very responsive and knowledgeable. I will continue using his services.

Mr. Diaz arrived on time and was very professional in his work. He was also very helpful in explaining what was the cause of the problem and how to avoid it in the future. He also explained how the drip pan was improperly installed during original installation and he corrected the installation with the new drip pan.

He was awesome! We called earlier during the week and he had an out-of-town job, so couldn't come until the weekend. Our furnace went out in the coldest part of this winter (26 degrees)! We had a tech from a company we used at least 3 times prior for our A/C, and we had John Moore come out. No one could detect the problem. John Moore actually told us we needed to replace the 14-year-old furnace for $4,000 or we could patch it for $1,200! Mr. Diaz spent an hour on the phone with my husband trying to detect the problem and helping us to determine if it was something we could fix. He arrived and spent about 2 hours in the attic. He also told us that his service call was good for 30 days, so if something else occurred we could call him back. This was not at all the offer made by our previous company. We were charged every time they came to the home. Mr. Diaz did have to come out and re-diagnosed the problem. The heater's been working perfect since then. This was my 1st Angie's List provider, and it was a good experience. I will use the List for all my contractors, etc. We need our bathroom remodeled, and I'm definitely choosing someone from the list.

My heater stopped working and I had such great service from Mike last time there was no need to even contemplate using anyone else. I called Mike late one evening, described my problem, and asked when he thought he could work me into his schedule since it was a day or two before Thanksgiving. Mike stopped by the next day for a troubleshooting session. Once he was finished he clearly explained what the problem was (that means old fashioned plain talk - and not a sleazy sales pitch). He gave me 3 options, $550 to $750 to try to get my junky old system up & running again, $2500 to install a brand new furnace, and $7500 to install a brand new American Standard AC/Heating unit. Mike said straight up - there's no guarantee the cheap option will work (that's honesty folks!) - and I told him I had no problems with that statement, but did he think going with the cheapest solution would have a 40% chance of success or more like 80% ? Mike stated he thought the chances were good he could get 'er runnin' again, however Lennox doesn't licence 3rd parties to make replacement parts so there may be a slight delay. Mike came back 2 days later, installed the new part, and she's blowin' hot air just like she was brand new - and oh - on the $550 to $750 range I was charged $590. Folks there is a reason this guy gets nothing but straight A reports on Angie's list! I already have him marked on my calendar to come back for my pre-summer AC checkup. -- What are you waiting for? Tired of reading reviews? Confused and frustrated? Just call Mike and be done with it. At least talk to the guy. You won't be sorry. Do I sound like a walking advertisemnt? So what, you will be too!

My wife and I woke up on Saturday (10/5) to find the house a little warmer than usual. After examining the unit and all things considered, I found that the maintenance most likely needed was a little outside my realm. I jumped onto Angie's List and found Mr. Diaz's information. I was really impressed with his A+ rating and all the positive comments which is why I decided to call him. He arrived a few hours later and examined the unit. He troubleshooted all aspects of my AC unit and found that the problem most likely was from the expansion valve. He informed me that the part had to be picked up directly from the manufacturer and he couldn't preform the rest of the work until Monday. Luckily with Houston's recent cold front that had come through, we didn't have to suffer too much. He arrived on Monday afternoon (5 PM) and started preforming the work and did not finish until it was done which was close to 8:30 PM. He finished recharging the unit, cleaned up, and he was done. Overall I was really surprised and impressed that he continued to finish the job so much later than expected. Because my unit is fairly newer, I had asked him a lot of questions in regards to the repairs he preformed and as well as what to expect down the line from my unit. He was very truthful and honest in his responses. I would definitely use and again and recommend to anyone needing a HVAC fix. A+++

Mike Diaz and his nephew, Joe, did an excellent job. Mr. Diaz repaired our AC as if it was his own. He gave us professional advice and the options presented were truly offered to benefit us. Will definitely use again.

It went well...no more water leaks

Mike Diaz is our official A/C guy now. We don't bother calling anyone else. He gets a quality job done for a better price than anyone else. The biggest difference between Diaz Services and all those other guys is they actually listen to you. When our A/C broke last year, we had 4 or 5 different companies out and every single one recommended we replace the entire unit for $6k+++. Mike told us that only the furnace was broken. The rest of the unit might not last much longer, but only the furnace had to be replaced. So we replaced our furnace for $2400. He even offered to fix our old furnace for around $900, but said (with the voice of experience) that our unit was old and probably would just break again anyway. We had confidence not only in his workmanship but also in his integrity. So here we are a year later, and it's possible the unit is going out now, but we've gone a whole year without having to incur additional A/C repair costs. And since we've already replaced the furnace, I'm sure the cost to replace whatever part we have to repair next will be easier on our budget.

Best service ever! He responded promptly to my AC needs. He even offered to come out on his own time and expense to refill our freeon so that our family was comfortable until he could schedule the installation of the new unit. He owns the company and does most of the work him self. He has been in the business more than 30 years. He is honest, reliable, competitive and professional. I will absolutely call him when our next AC unit goes on the fritz.

I used Diaz Services Air Conditioning & Heating last week. He charged me $150. He is competitive. I would rather get someone honest than saving a few dollars. Everything is an A.

Mr Diaz did a super job. He is extremely knowledgable and professional. He trouble shot the problem and formulated repairs that fit with my schedule. He was always punctual and communicated with me to inform of any deviations required. I would call him again for any need for A/C heat problems.

Mr. Diaz was very amiable and worked around my schedule. He is honest and forthright. He came and checked my heater that had been turned off. He found some probems and pointed them out. He came back the next evening, repaired the most aggregiuos problem,and turned my heater back on.

He came over the next day after I called. He was between jobs and to look at it. Quickly diagonosed problem to leak and low refrigerent. Offered to patch leak but could not warrenty the patch too long. Recommended replacing lower unit and get full warrenty. I went with replacing the old unit and getting its full warrenty. Left to do some other jobs, brought back new unit in the early evening and worked until dark until finished. Adjusted A/C slab for better positining, drained and refilled refrigerent. He cleaned up and it worked well after that.

.Saturday evening I noticed that I was starting to feel a little warm so right off I begin to believe that maybe it needs to be charged a bit since I know it has a slow leak anyway. I was wrong. The compressor was not running at all. Bummer! I called and talked to Mike at about 8 o'clock Saturday night. I know I could wait until the next morning, but my first question for Mike when I talked to him was would there be an extra charge for coming out on a Sunday? I was pleased to hear him tell me his rates where the same on Sunday as they where on Monday or any other day. Excellent! I set an appointment for the next day, Sunday, at 11 and Mike showed up within a few minutes of that time. He quickly diagnosed the problem as being my starter capacitor. Problem solved, happy (and getting cool) customer. Would I recommend this company? Well I'll put it this way, I'll be calling him again when the need arises. Remember, you can always 'call Tom and pay more' if you know what I mean;
