Description of Work: The handyman completed three different jobs. First, he installed a valve ballcock system in the tank of a toilet. Second, he put in a new telephone line for a new telephone in the master bathroom. The last job was to wire a new outdoor light in the backyard. All jobs were completed in the 3 hour time limit. He did an excellent job on all three. I was a handyman 14 years ago until a driver didn't stop for a red light & hit my pickup & flipped it upside down. I spent 2 months in the hospital & now I have to use a cane or a walker to get around & the use of only one hand. He the job the way I would have done it. As the old saying goes, "It takes one to know one!"

Description of Work: My front door would not lock deadbolt or knob. He came after hours and fid a great job and Mr. Jackson did a great job.

Description of Work: This was an Angie's List Special where Red Rooster promised three hours of handyman service for only $99. Any additional time would be at a $50 per hour rate. Early communication was through Angie's List texts but we established the types of service I needed and they warned that extensive painting and drywall work would require more than three hours. Our appointment was set for Friday morning at 8AM. Raymond called at 8:10 and said he needed to pick up supplies first and would not meet me until 9AM, or so. He did arrive around 9AM and (with showers forecast) went right to work on two outdoor tasks: repairing a section of under roof eave that had come loose and replacing silicone between the gutter and siding. Raymond noted that the siding had been installed with very short brads which allowed the siding to flex and displace the silicone. He took the initiative of nailing the siding at several locations. Raymond also took the initiative of straightening a gate post which allowed him easier entry with his ladders. He also pointed out areas where my fence contractor had cut corners on our fence. (That contractor had scored a "D" on my Angie's List report!) We then took a tour of my inside tasks so he could align them in a manner to allow the least "wait" time: repair a slow-leaking toilet tank; patching/texturing a water damaged space on the laundry room ceiling; and fixing an electrical short in the attic. By starting on the ceiling, it could dry while he worked on the toilet. He then sprayed texture on the ceiling which closely matched the existing pattern. He repaired the toilet by emptying the bowl, checking the ring, replacing and tightening the bowl, and refilling the tank. He also explained how he thought the problem had arisen and what not to do in the future. The light switch was a quick fix. I was able to supply any supplies that he did not have with him, but he would have gone "off the clock" while he went to Home Depot. There was no charge for travel or break time. Bottom line: Raymond completed a variety of work within four hours with no additional charge. We are meeting his boss today to get bids for installing pocket doors, building furniture-quality shelving, and doing more extensive water restoration in another room.

Description of Work: Ray came up with innovative solutions to the two tasks I needed performed. First, he removed two inches from bottom of a kitchen cabinet to accommodate a new, taller fridge. Second, he filled two triangular blank spaces between eave and roof using materials removed from cabinet, then spray painted so that finished result was pleasing in appearance.

Description of Work: Took care of my collapsed closet rods/shelves pulled away from wall, smoothed & painted window sills, hung large mirror on door. I felt like my house was regressed!

Description of Work: Installed blinds, curtain rods, vanity mirrors in bathrooms and put together dining set with 8 chairs. He was on time and cane ready to work. He's very professional as well as personable. Will definitely use him again.

Description of Work: I'm not sure of the date of service, but the fence repair work was great. The work on the inside of my home to repair some tape and bed problems were not so good. He came with no effective means to protect my furnishings. i.e. no drop cloths. The repair appears to be fine, but the texture is definitely lacking.

Description of Work: Minor plumbing repair. Replaced door knobs. Took apart and reassembled a broken door knob.

Description of Work: Drywall was repaired under porch windows where rain had come in and ruined it. Since I did not have paint to finish the trim I told him I would do it. He did a great job.

Description of Work: Ray hung fixtures, adjusted a door, put down floor trim, caulked, fixed the utility sink legs....can do pretty much anything! Great service, very friendly and gives lots of great tips and advice. Will use again!
