Great job. Professional work. I sent them a picture of the door that required replacement and then spoke by phone to set it up and communicated by email with details of the job. Had 1 installer who showed up in the window of time that was promised and did everything they said they would. They gave me a materials list and I went to Lowes and bought the door, the lock and doorknob & other lumber & material. He picked it all up for $30 extra charge above what the installation cost, which was reasonable to me. The installation went smoothly. It was clear he knew exactly what needed to be done. Also drilled the hole and remounted the magnetic alarm sensor in the door jamb and the door. Even had some material left over that I was able to return to Lowes for a refund. I would use them again without hesitation.

When doing some updates to our backyard, we decided to have two small decks replaced and expanded. When our landscapers took off the old deck behind the kitchen, they saw that the wood underneath the threshold was rotting. So we called Ryon to see what he would suggest we do. Our house is old (1929), so it is full of these sorts of surprises and almost no job is typical. We really need to have folks who know how to improvise given the strange things we often uncover when we get to work. Ryon asked that we send him a bunch of pictures, and from the pictures alone he was able to suggest exactly what we should do and sent us the precise materials we'd need to get to make it happen. He was willing to come out on a Sunday to get the work done as soon as possible so that we could complete the process of building the deck, and because we don't have a truck, he was also willing to pick up the materials we purchased and to haul away the trash for a nominal extra fee. He got her promptly and went to work, making sure to keep the house clean. He kept us up to speed about what he was doing at each step, and made sure to point out decisions he was making when a typical install wouldn't work with the irregularities of our house. When he was finished it looked as good as new! He was also just a friendly guy and a pleasant person to have around your house for a few hours. I highly recommend his work!

Fast, efficient and reasonable

The door was corrected one day and the refinishing done a week later. It took about 4 1/2 hours for the door to be stripped, sanded, stained and varnished. Since it was December it was a little chilly, but a heavy sheet of plastic kept out the cold air and the dust. All sanding was done with a vacuum so there was no dust left in my home. I am completely satisfied with the results and will use this company again.

Juan was on time, explained the process and went to work. All door frames adjusted as needed, and new hardware installed. He also installed a new dog door. Great job.

The job went very well. I am an amateur woodworker; and the Door Guys' work was a real master class. I've lived with their work for several months; and door remains solid, secure, and smoothly operating. I plan to hire the Door Guys again.

We first had Ryon come approximately one year ago. He fixed an iron gate door which had settled and added supports so that it would work properly. He also did the same for an interior door. He advised us at the time that this was a temporary fix and showed us why. It turns out the doors were installed incorrectly- the regular doors were installed of pre existing sliding door tracks so the doors never sealed properly. He suggested that we may want to consider a proper installation at sometime. His advice was very reasonable and so very recently, we decided to go ahead with the project since the door did indeed stop closing again. The entire process could not have been easier. The order of the parts which included two sets of doors and door frame materials (molding, ect) was done entirely by Ryon, the installation date was set as soon as the doors arrived and the project was completed in a few hours. They did a fabulous job. The doors work and look great! I highly recommend Ryon for all of your door needs. Doors are all they do and they will do the job the right way, the first time!

I requested a quote. We had an issue with email communication that was no fault of theirs. I originally though they did not respond, however that was a mistake. I hastily gave them a negative review which was not warranted. have withdrawn my negative review. These guys look like a great reputable company. Though I have not used them, based on their reviews from others would recommend them.

Ryon was very helpful. He answered my questions and gave me suggestions on what type of door might be best. I was given a material lst. That was very helpful. Once I had the door and materials. I had a scheduled appointment. Max came out to install the door. Max did a great job. He was friendly and new what he was doing. Everything went real smooth. I will be using again.

Ryon was very responsive and helpful. He come out to check out our current doors, provided input and guidance on what would likely be custom and what was standard, and then gave us a quote in email with needed door measurements and supplies for us to acquire prior to installation. Once all 5 of our doors were in and we had delivery of the doors and supplies, Ryon and one of his other guys installed all 5 doors in about half a day. They were prompt and arrived at 9 as promised, and completed before 2 that afternoon. He was up front about what might cost more and what could possibly go wrong, but surprisingly for a 50 year old home, all 5 installs went pretty seamlessly with only minor adjustments. Our doors are just plain beautiful. Ryan's prices for installation are competitive with Lowes and Home Depot, and I find comfort in knowing it was him doing it, not a contractor that I wouldn't meet until the day of install. His guidance on what to order was also invaluable. Ryon does installs only. So please be aware, you will order the doors you want and manage that process. This was a long process for us because we had mostly custom doors to get exactly what we wanted. We also now have 4 exterior doors that need to be prepped and painted inside and out. Slowly making out way through them each to get to the final product.

I didn't know where to start or who to call but I Googled door repair in Houston and it brought me to Angie's List. Upon registering I did the same search and contacted The Door Guys as they were rated high and not to far from my home. After providing Ryon some basic information and pictures of the damage he was able to advise me on the process and what was needed. Although we scheduled the repair for the next day, he was able to make it to my home that very same day and completed the repair in a timely manner. Looking at the door frame now you really cannot tell that it had been damaged. Ryon also recommended some storm doors for both my front and back doors which I'm purchasing and will have The Door Guys install. I would definitely use The Door Guys again!

Ryon was great to work with, the service was quick and they cleaned up so you couldn't even tell their had been any construction. We are very impressed!

The Door Guys (TDGs) installer removed our existing back door and installed a replacement door. He also installed a new security storm door. The work took about 3 hours and we are happy with the result. Ryan Oates was very helpful and fit us in to their schedule as soon as they could. The charges were exactly what was quoted and the installer did a good job cleaning up afterwards. I would hire TDGs again. Just a few items as a head's up: 1) You'll need to select and buy your own doors. TDGs are installers. They did provide a very good recommendation for a security door. 2) TDGs will pick up your doors (ours were at Lowe's) for an extra charge. Note that these charges are negotiated between the installer and the home owner. This apparently is independent of TDGs. I wasn't clear on these items at the start of email exchanges with Ryon. Not a big deal at all, just an FYI to anyone reading this review.

Ryon is very knowledgable of the installation process. He was able to assess the situation that I was having and a fix to the problem over the phone. His installer came out on time and was very professional. Did a great job. I have about 3 more doors to buy and install and will defiantly be calling The Door Guys again to do the work.

Ryon was an absolute pleasure to work with. We had been in touch for a few months before the job was completed, but that was because I had to go through the HOA approval process as well as door selection. He guided me through every step and was very helpful. I learned a lot about doors for sure! On the install day, Ryon showed up on time and picked up my front door for me from Home Depot. He and another installer completed the job in less than three hours and were precise on every detail. The doors look great and the finishing is amazing. I'm really happy with the service I got and would highly recommend them. Thanks Ryon!

Juan the installer was on time and ready to go to work at the appointed time. He removed the old entry door and measured the new door slab and determined it needed to be trimmed down a little on the side and the bottom of the new door. He began this with his saw but his battery went dead on him. He realized charging it up to resume would take too long so he asked me where the closest home improvement store was and took off for Lowes and returned quickly. He finished the trimming and installed the door and swept up the sawdust. He left and I then realized that the side and the bottom of the door were not cut/trimmed evenly. i took pictures of the door miscuts and emailed them to Ryon at The Door Guys stating that this occurring on a wood door for the garage was one thing but on a mahogany home entry door it would be an entirely different problem. Ryon responded quickly by email saying he would be glad to replace the door slab or take $75 off the installation of the other two doors that we have left to do. Ryon assured me he would be on the job for the other two doors. We opted for Ryon to replace the door slab and install it at no cost which Ryon and Juan did on July 23, 2014. Bear in mind, while the old door was delaminating on the bottom of both sides, we never experienced a moment's trouble with the door opening or closing. We never had a threshold on this entry door into the garage and saw no need to have a pre-hung unit while our door jam was fine. On Saturday, September 6, I noticed for the first time that the door was 'catching' on a high point on our tile floor in the garage. On Monday, September 8, I called Ryon, he answered promptly while on another job and I explained to him what was happening and asked if he would be able to come by and take a look at it. He quickly advised me that he would not warrant a door slab install, unlike pre-hung units, a door slab install was like putting Ford parts in a Chevrolet. While we have two expensive doors yet to install, we will not be using the Door Guys for any future work. *****Updating this review because I think we were too easy on them. The Door Guys say they do one thing and they are experts at it. Well, we had one door replaced --- a single door slab leading to the garage. They did a bad job the first time so they went and bought us another door and installed it. A very short time after being installed, it started dragging. We called them and they said they do not warrant their work unless it's a prehung door. Well, if you're experts at installing doors, it seems to me that you'd warrant your work prehung or not. Every door does not need a new frame but these guys will always try to get you to replace the entire unit. Had we known they didn't warranty their work on slab doors, we would not have used them. VERY disappointed in them. No doubt we will have to pay someone to fix their work.

The Door Guys are terrific. It's great to find an expect who really knows his stuff. The owner Ryon is also very nice and honest. He gave us all the options to address our door problems and we're very happy with the results. Will certainly call again if another job arises.

Ryon was very responsive to my request for information about a door installation. He was able to send someone out to our home in a matter of days to do the installation. Compared to the prices I was quoted at some of the big box stores, The Door Guys were very reasonable. The door was installed and we are very pleased with the results. I've already referred a friend.

The Door Guys (Ryon Oates) removed an old sliding glass door and installed new french doors. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. He was professional and we have had no problems with the installation (no water or air leaks). He did such a good job and trimmed it up so nicely, you'd never guess that the door wasn't part of the initial build. Although Ryon doesn't supply the door itself, he was extremely helpful in guiding us on what type of door would be best for our needs. And he hauled away that old door for us!
