Very punctual and professional. Diagnosed the problem quickly and was very reasonable in price. I plan on using them again in the spring. Very pleased with the service

Inspections was thorough and informative. Inspector was very professional. Peace of mind and knowledge of state of AC system well worth the price. I will make a yearly habit of these inspections from now on.

I called Barker's Heating and Cooling late on a Friday evening (after hours). Our upstairs air conditioning unit stopped working and the Texas heat in late June made the situation urgent. In less than an hour, I received a call from Josh, Bark'ers repair technician. Josh arrived exactly when he said he would. He was polite and very professional. Josh evaluated the unit and said that several electronic parts were not working. He replaced those parts and then attempted to restart the unit. The attempt failed. Josh then declared that the compressor was "locked up" and was "bad." He said that the compressor needed replacing, but that the cost of the compressor and parts would be so significant that, given the age of the unit (11 years), he recommended replacing the whole unit. I was reluctant, but agreed to schedule a salesman to give us a bid the next day. Josh charged $138 for the service call. After Josh left, I called two other companies to schedule bids to replace my outside air conditioning unit. These companies were Morgan Air Conditioning and Reclamation, Inc. and Climate Doctors of BCS. The next morning, Pete Morgan, owner of Morgan Air Conditioning, arrived at 10:30 a.m. He offered to evaluate the equipment free of charge before giving me a bid. Mr. Morgan thoroughly evaluated the entire system and concluded that the equipment was easily repairable. He replaced three pieces of electronic equipment (one in the attic unit), and the unit began working. He diagnosed a slightly low freon problem, replaced the freon and suggested that I wait to evaluate replacing the unit(s) until the fall. I called the two other companies to cancel the bids and began enjoying cool air again. UPDATE: Barker's Heating & Cooling eventually refunded the cost of the service call. According the note attached to the refund check, the reason for the refund was "due to incorrect diagnosis." Kudos to Barker's for acting in my best interest! P.S. I did not request of refund; Barker's made this decision entirely on their own. Thank you, Barker's!

I have AC and the inspector said it looks ok. It was good.

Work was done in a timely manner. they did not have both parts but were back when they told us.

In addition to replacing the unit, Pat redesigned our system to increase its efficiency. We used to have one isolated return, and now we have four of them throughout the house. The new system qualified for rebates from the manufacturer (Lennox) and CS Utilities. Pat helped us to arrange for no-interest 18-month financing and did all the rebate paperwork. We just had to sign on the dotted line. The entire time to do this work was just under 6 hours.

Their customer service is very good. They do what they say they are going to do. I think we get what we pay for.

I got 4 names and I asked them to give me quotes. One guy didn’t show up and one guy was just obnoxious. Though they were the most expensive by quite a bit we went with them. I got one quote for $6000 and Barkers were quoting $11000 but given what they were doing we decided we would have a new system and have it zoned. We divided the house into zones so we could control the temperature in the house. We also wanted them to move the air return from a closet in the house to the attic so that it would work better for the heating and air. That contributed to the price. Barkers came in and they did a fabulous job. When they moved the system from the closet to the attic they converted the closet into a linen closet and they didn’t charge me for it. They had to build a platform in the attic to support the air exchange unit. It was a rather large job and they were very professional and they kept the house immaculate. They responded immediately to our request for a quote. They ask all the right questions and we felt that we were in good hands talking to them and so my husband decided to go with them because central heat and air conditioning can be very fussy. The temperatures here in the summer are outrageous and you don't want your conditioner to go out. We just liked everything about them. We have a regular contract with them now.

AC wasn't working. I determined the compressor fan wasn't turning, also that the fan motor had continuity through its windings (the motor was good). Called Barkers to check it out. Their tech (with whom I've dealt previously and who has been very helpful) found a bad run capicitor and replaced it (at an outrageous price: $91 for a part it probably costs $5 to make, but beggars can't be choosers). AC works fine now, and I remain satisfied with the quality of the service.

We spent about $135 during their last visit. They are all right. We haven’t had any problems with them. They did the initial inspection. They seemed very safe. We can let them in our house, and we are not afraid if they are in our house. They come in. They let us know if they are coming. They keep up with their work. They are reliable. We would use them again in the future.

The process went great. The crew came in, described what they were doing, took measurements, disassembled the old unit in the attic and replaced ductwork along with installing the units outside. Day 2 was for running additional ductwork, checking the new filtering system and removing the dangerous dryer vent that came with the house. The crew was out and the air conditioning was purring by very early afternoon. The crew was highly professional and very efficient. Wish everyone worked as well as these guys did. I would definetly recommend these to all my friends. Great group.

Replaced the heating and cooling system one day, came back the next day and replaced the duct work and vents. New system with new duct work is quieter and cools better. Crew left things clean at the end of the work days. Old intake vent was installed incorrectly and they were unsure if they would be able to remove it and replace a new one properly without damaging the surrounding plaster. They did replace it without any damage. All vents were installed cleanly and no ceiling repair work was needed after new vents were installed. They blocked off two vents that were not positioned efficiently (Two additional vents had been installed 15 years ago when I moved in because the living room didn't cool well at all, one vent was closed off then). When the City of College Station came to inspect the job for the rebate, the inspector mentioned they had just implemented a new requirement for locking caps (within the last week) on the coolent lines on the outside. Barker's was not aware of this and had to get some and come back to put them on. Only took a day or two to get the locks and install them. Carbon monoxide detector is also a city requirement. Inspector also pointed out that water was collecting in the pan under the unit in the attic. Water was dripping out the overflow vent in the eaves like it was supposed to. When Barker's came back out, they checked the water pan in the attic and discovered an extra trap was installed which prevented the water from draining properly. They corrected it and the pan has been dry ever since. Locking caps were installed on the coolant lines and they contacted the city inspector to reinspect the coolant lines. Rebates were received within a couple of weeks. The new system has used less electricity this summer than last, even with the heat wave.

The system was installed in my rent house. The renter said everything went great the crew was professional and cleaned before leaving.

They are very good. They usually come within 24 hours, they are personable, they seem honest, and they don’t seem to take advantage of you. Their fees are reasonable. This last time they came on the weekend so there was an additional fee, but I was grateful that they would come and take care of things.

The experience was very good. I'm happy with their services.

They are a good business. They notify when they're coming. They always give great service. You don't have to sit and wait for them. They are pretty punctual, but they notify me. Their technicians really know what they're doing. They went out of their way to help me with my furnace. When a company doesn't steer you to buy the biggest, baddest, best furnace, they are honest. They could have made a pile of money. My furnace went out, and they needed two parts. It was an old, outdated furnace. Two parts were going to be a total of $1100. The parts would get the furnace going, but only for maybe a year or two. They gave an estimate for a completely new unit, which was still a little bit out of my pocket range. I wanted to order the parts, but the owner said he could do better, so they ordered a brand-new furnace with a five-year warranty for only $1440. I only paid a little more than I would have for the parts, but I have a brand new furnace. They are pretty efficient. They come and set it up right. It's good work for the price. They give a pretty good time window for their arrival, so you don't have to wait around for them. They did the work in four and a half hours, when it could have taken all day.

The process was seamless and painless from start to finish. While Barker was a little more expensive than others, their work was excellent and the quality of workmanship extremely good. They covered everything, keept everything clean and tidy. They even had to remove the door to the mechanical closet, install a vent and reinstall it at the end. the started on time, finished on time and spent as much time as we needed to understand our new fancy schmancy thermostat. We also had them perform regular maintenance on the haeter and A/C. We will definitely use them again.

On time and very helpful and took the time to fix things right.

They got to our house in a timely manner. Got to the job quickly and effeciently. The service manager was even here to over see everything. VERY good experience!

Everything went great! Very prompt. Handled all questions and concerns. Very clean installation. Only found one small piece of insulation ( about the size of a quarter) in the yard after they left. They replaced our progammable theromostat with a new non-programmable one. The salesman immediatley replied to my email, apologized and is coming out to install a new programmable thermosat.

They did a really nice job! I was impressed with the person who came out to give the estimate. He made careful recommendations as to what would be good for the house. The work crew showed up right on time! They seemed to enjoy the work. They worked quickly and neatly. The thing I enjoyed most was their professionalism and knowledge of the products and what would work for my house. Their price was in line with the other estimate I received.
