Description of Work: So far their service is good. They do our weekly cleaning of the pool. If something is broken they work on it. They did have a change of ownership and there have been gaps, but so far I think they are doing well.

Description of Work: ups and downs with this company in quality..especially with replaster. It has recently been bought and hopefully things will improve. The pool cleaner I had was the best in the company, and he is moving up into a supervisory role. Other supervisors have been very helpful, but some have not. They have been fair with trying to correct problems with the pool. cannot give a fair assessment since new ownership has just started, and staff will be changing.

Description of Work: I moved into my house on 3/2011 and Tropix was providing the service. I would say the techs are very good about fixing a pool. I have replaced most of the equipment and priced the equipment/service with a large pool company, as well as the equipment online. I would say Tropix was below the national player (hard to figure out with all the coupons the national player sends) but not below the internet equipment providers. Coupled with the tech service, Tropix was the best option. I did not price them against another local provider. However, the weekly service is 80% spot on in quality. The pool is always very clean (free of leaves, etc) but have had some issues with algae that were not immediately fixed. I have found the service providers to be helpful and will take the time to explain any possible issues or why they are adding certain chemicals to your pool.

The tech assigned to my pool developed a habit of skipping weeks, then I started finding chlorine tabs placed in my skimmer basket, finally thrown in the pool itself. I have an inline chlorinator and had one of those floating chlorinators, so there was no excuse. So after numerous issues with him, Tropix replaced him with another service tech. NOte that it was a struggle getting them to do anything about him, and there was no make good offered to me for all the missed services. Three weeks after they reassigned my pool to a new tech, yet another skipped service by the new tech, and that's when I was done with Tropix.

+ -1 moreGood company, they work hard for the business but like most pool companies they find themselves constantly dealing with customer emergencies. If you're not an emergency then your job tends to get deprioritized a bit but they are good at communicating and their service is impeccable.

+ -1 moreOur filter had been leaking small amounts of DE into the pool for several months. A different service provider was unable to determine the cause despite multiple calls, that's why I called Tropix pools. The service was prompt and the repairman seemed to find the issue. I decided not to get it fixed as it required a new filter (parts were unavailable for our very old model). I was pleased that the repairman was able to actually show me the DE coming back into the pump basket when the pool was shut off- an indication that there was a loss of pressure in the system due to air leakage (which he attributed to a TINY crack in the filter housing.) When we decide to replace the filter, we will call Tropix.
Description of Work: Serviceman came out to evaluate why DE was getting into the pool.

+ -1 moreIt went great. They were on time. I had originally called for service because I thought I had a clog. Tech came out said I didn't have a clog and didn't charge me. He listened to my other concerns on my pool and said he would have someone from their office send me an estimate. They did within 48 hours. Now the prices were full retail (the tech prepared me for the bid); however, it was worth it. They were a one stop shop. I got the bid, called them to say let's go ahead and do this project and they were here the next day with a new booster pump, a whole new filter system and cleaned my pool. They even rewired my switch for me to make turning the pool on and off more convenient.
