They were very prompt and friendly. They did a good job.

The owner, Tim, and his companion, Adrian, were punctual and very friendly, even winning over my not so social cats before they were done. They did a great job of keeping the mess inside the fireplace or on the mats they put down. There is a gas fixture in the fireplace that they attempted to get working only to discover that the gas to the fireplace is shut off somewhere before it gets to the fireplace key valve. They did a quick and efficient job. Oh, and I adored the authentic chimney sweep hats! :) I will be hiring them again next year.

The owner, Tim, was very professional. Our living room was left exactly the way they found it. We decided to take them up on the offer of cleaning our dryer vent as well since he charges 50% less if he's already here ($50). I was satisfied with this as well, but the dryer was left running after they left and was still pulled away from the wall. Our lawn furniture was also not put back into place from moving it to reach the dryer vent outside. I never like it when a vender asks to use the bathroom, especially when it's only an hour-long job they are doing. I just think it's unprofessional. But besides that, things were taken care of professionally.

Tim and his partner arrived early so got a head start. He looked at the fireplace which I thought had a problem when in fact, didn't. But he provided me with information on how to start/stop the fireplace with the gas logs. He did not charge me for that instruction or for checking the functioning of the fireplace. He checked out the 2nd gas fireplace and let me know that the fireplace was originally a wood-burning fireplace and was very dirty. So he cleaned that fireplace. He showed me how to operate that fireplace as well. I asked him about eliminating the gas scent which is emitted when on and he had some wood incense that I bought that will emit various varieties of wood scents. He was very professional, cleaned up any soot or ash that was on the bottom of the fireplace. He provided mats for the carpet for protection. He came dressed in a top hat and the traditional chimney sweep outfit and was a delightful person to talk to. His partner (who I apologize to as I forgot his name!!) was also a delightful individual, was very professional in his work ethic, and was interesting to speak with as well as he and I share the love of antiques!! Overall, a delightful experience.

Overall they were great! Tim was very knowledgeable on both gas chimneys and on log fire burning chimneys. I called to have my gas fireplace cleaned and to have my log fireplace looked at for a estimate to convert to gas. He found that my vent door was broken in the gas chimney. He explained to me that the gas fireplace is a 1950 space heater (looks like fake ceramic logs) and that I could keep the vent closed. He suggested cleaning the log fireplace checking to see if the gas worked. In all the did a great job making sure that my furniture did not get dirty. they cleaned the log fireplace and left a brochure on different type of gas logs to convert my wood log fireplace. The estimate was 575.00 with installation. Which was my lowest estimate on the conversion to gas. The first company estimated 800.00 for the gas logs and 200.00 for installation. I am very happy customer that I have set my appointment in November to convert my wood fireplace to gas. Thank you TIM!!

We had hired the English Sweep to repair our indoor fireplaces this past October (see our first report.) We decided that we wanted to convert the outdoor fireplace to one in which we could roast marshmallows, etc., so after some stone work and repair, we hired the English Sweep to come out and make adjustments. They cleaned out the fireplace, repainted the rack so we would not have to purchase a new one, and made all necessary conversions. They charged surprisingly little for all the work they did out in the hot summer sun! We are delighted with the work and looking forward to some cooler evenings!

We called him because we'd heard birds in the chimney and assumed they were nesting there. Also wanted dryer vent cleaning along with general chimney cleaning. It's a 10 year old house and we wanted to be able to safely use the gas logs. He was punctual, friendly, and had even my afraid of everyone but us wanting him to pet him. It's just me but I always trust people more if they good with pets. Anyway, he explained that I had a decorator gas log setup which would provide little heat so we got those replaced. He checked the chimney cap and said that there was bird screen so we were just hearing them outside. There was no charge for checking that. I had no idea where our dryer vent outlet was. He found it. It was an amusing sight seeing him in his chimney sweep hat on my roof with dryer lint spewing out. He brought his own drop clothes to protect my floor. He cleaned everything up. I'd definitely use him again.

He was great. He performed the work promptly, efficiently and at a good price. I trusted his knowledge and advice.

He was excellent, arrived on time and prices were reasonable. I also thought he was pleasant and did a good job cleaning up after himself. I will definitely be using him again.

He did a fair job of cleaning the bottom of of the fireplace so that the draft was working fairly well when he left. I bought my home as a repo and had never had a fireplace cleaned before. I thought the bottom would actually look clean when he finished, but maybe I was wrong for thinking that. I thought he would go on the roof to clean the flue like you see in pictures of chimney sweeps, too. That didn't happen either, What did happen was a nonstop lecture on how dirty my fireplace was. Yes, I know it's dirty that's why I called to get it cleaned. When he finally stopped the lecture, he started trying to sell me on a now or future purchase of a ceramic gas fire place. It would have been appropriate to let me know he can install those and even appropriate to suggest a certain brand if I was interested, A suggestion would have been fine, not a sales pitch. I just wanted my fire place cleaned.

He came on time. His prices were reasonable. He did what he said he would do. I didn't compare his prices with others.

Everything completed in a reasonable time frame. Had to order a part that required a return visit. Pleasant to work with, very knowledgable, fair prices. Nothing negative to report.

I gave The English sweep all A's across the board. Cheery, efficient, on time and reasonably priced. What more can a customer ask?

We moved to Dallas in July of this year and needed to have two gas fireplaces checked prior to using them. I called Tim on 11/28/11 and talked with him directly and scheduled an appointment for the following day at 2:00 pm. Tim and an assistant arrived promptly at 2:00 pm wearing top hat and dressed in black. The fireplaces needed to be checked, cleaned and refurbished. But before work began, all of the furniture in the area was covered with heavy moving blankets to protect it. Tim explained what he was doing and how to operate the fireplaces safely. He stripped down one entire fireplace to the bricks and cleaned and replaced the sand and cinders. The other fireplace is a closed unit, so Tim checked the system to make sure that it was working correctly. He and his assistant worked for more than two hours. Not only were they professional and good at what they did, they also liked our three very large dogs. The price included a sample of incense that mimics the smell of a real wood fire. I was very happy with their work, will use this company again, and highly recommend them.

The English Sweep arrived in his top hat! (I took a photo, which I wish I could attach.) As we had purchased a foreclosed house, this was quite a project - they cleaned the logs, repainted the fireboxes, repaired a bent screen, and cleaned up after themselves, which I really appreciated!

Very timely efficient service at a reasonable price.

It went fine... they were very prompt. The only issue was getting the hot and cold lines reversed on the washing machine, which they promptly fixed.

We contacted them and scheduled and apportionment for later in the week. One of the men arrived on time and his partner came a little bit after him. Didn't know there was a second guy coming. It took much longer than expected - about 3 hours. And it made a bit of a mess in the living room. Not a terrible mess, but they didn't really clean up after them selves. They spend most of the time up on the roof. When they were in the house, one of them men used some very unprofessional foul language explaining what they were doing and just general small talk. Wouldn't have bothered my except that my young children were in the room. Pretty unprofessional. One of the reasons we hired them was because our fireplace was black with soot. It was still black with soot when they were done. I asked if they were going to clean it and they explained that they did and that the bricks blacken over time and the only way to fixe that was to paint over them. I was pretty disappointed. I later confirmed through some other sources that he was right, but still - I would have expected and explanation of this before hand. On the upside, they identified some weaknesses and cracks in our chimney, repaired them on the sport for a fair price, and sold us a chimney cap - which we needed. Not the worst experience in the world, but had they been more professional, I would recommend them.

It was a fun and effective exprience.

Very well. Two men came to do work. I would not have known they had been there had I not actually seen them working because they cleaned up after themselves so well.

The contractor arrived on time and provided professional service.

Tim was great. He showed up on time, did a thorough cleaning and inspection of the chimney and fixed the problems found that same day.

He was a very strange little man. He was dressed in a little outfit with a top hat; but it turned out he was fantastic. He was very honest and diligent. I would absolutely recommend him to anybody. He did lot of work for not very much money. He also had another boy with him. The younger fellow with him was kind of handy with plumbing type stuffs and he has put new stainless steel hoses on my washing machine. They both work together. The chimneys were cleaned by an older man. I would absolutely use him in the future.

They were very responsive, and available within the week to perform the services. They were on time, and we are happy with the results.
