+ -1 moreWe didn't even know they were here except for the massive change in foliage on our property line. They did exactly what was asked of them, and they cleaned up after themselves well.
Description of Work: We purchased the Big Deal. Arboretum came out to view what we had in mind. Basically, we had a landscaping fence, rather than a real one, and we were wanting to put up a real fence. Arboretum came out to clean up all of the bushes and trees along the property line.

+ -1 moreCalled to set up an appointment to get a quote for some tree work. Had 3 separate telehone conversation regarding the day and time I was available to meet. Set the time of after 2 PM on a Friday afternoon. At 4 PM call to verify they would be coming to provide a quote but got no answer. Finally received a return call a 5:25 as it was getting dark indicating they were in traffic and would not be able to make it. They obviously have no respect for others time or have the courtesy to call and notify they will not be able to honor the time that was established.
Description of Work: Don't bother setting an appointment time with them unless you have a lot of time to waste. They have no respect for anyone's time but their own.

+ -1 moreBilly came out and gave us an estimate on a Friday and he and his crew arrived as promised the following Monday. They trimmed two trees in the front yard and three in back as well as groomed all the shrubbery and cleaned up leaf litter. The job was completely in a time fashion and to my satisfaction. The crew did a good job cleaning up afterward. I would recommend Billy and Arboretum Tree Services.

Description of Work: I have completed a previous review for this company. Please do not send any more review requests on them. they came out promptly but said it was too much for the deal. Gave me a quote of $5,300.00 to clean my trees. I had the work done by another company for 2,000.00, He kept the deal and said he would call in the summer when it was safe to cut oaks, but he never returned or called. I have requested a refund on this. I has been one month since that request and i have not recieved my refund....

+ 0 moreMy trees and shrubs were getting a little out of control in my front yard. I saw that Arboretum was bonded, licensed and insured which was what I wanted. I gave Billy a call and he came out and gave me an estimate which for the amount of work I had I thought was very reasonable. His crew showed up Friday morning and they were done by that evening. My tree and shrubs look excellent and it will be very easy for me to maintain the great shape the crew at Arboretum left them in.
Description of Work: Trimmed trees and bushes and tidied the yard.

+ -1 moreBilly was great to work with, professional and responsive. He communicated with me regularly to coordinate scheduling and payment. He made arrangements to do the work without my having to take the day off work. It all went very smoothly.
Description of Work: Cut branches back on large tree overhanging the house and, in the wind, bumping into the shingles. Cut lower branches, that were too low, on a 2 yr-old tree and sealed the cuts. Cleaned out gutters and downspouts.

+ -1 moreI liked their service. It did take me a while to get them out here to do it. It was a hassle to get him out. Once he came out, he did a really good job. I had him remove some branches. I was happy with the results. I would recommend him to other people. He did a good job. The tree was really great after he was done. It was not bald; it was obvious that it needed a lot of trimming.

+ -1 moreI had purchased one of the Angie's List "Big Deal" certificates that was offered by Arboretum, I think it was a $200 certificate for $100. Billy came out to see what work I needed and gave me an estimate, which, including my certificate, came out to about $400 (can't remember the exact amount since it was several months ago). He explained that since it was a small job he would have to work me in between some of his bigger jobs. This was not a problem since I am retired and my schedule is flexible. Billy and his crew came out about 2 weeks later and completed the job in a couple of hours. The crew (5 or 6) was VERY professional and efficient. Billy supervised the entire time. They were well equipped with saws and paint applicators to cover the tree cuts, which was a big concern because of oak wilt. They also had good safety equipment. Billy is very professional and he cares about not only the quality of the work performed, but the safety of his employees. His prices were a little higher than some other estimates I got, but I was very satisfied with the work performed.
Description of Work: Arboretum cut away several large tree branches that were hanging over my 2 story house, and trimmed other smaller branches around the perimeter of the house. They also hauled off all the debris.

+ -1 moreWe called for and estimate, which was done a few days after we called. The gentleman was very thorough and studied the tree carefully. He described his plan for the pruning thoroughly. Within a few days the work was done under his careful supervision. Cleanup was very thorough.
Description of Work: Large fig tree pruned, small peach tree pruned, nandina hedge removed, loquot tree removed. The fig tree was pruned in a very aesthetically pleasing way. It bore more fruit this year than it has in years! The work was done in just a few hours and cleanup was very thorough. Thanks for a great job!

+ -1 moreBilly and his crew did an amazing job on my trees. He was extremely knowledgable about the right way to trim my 5 huge oaks and they look better than any tree trimmer I've ever used. He even noticed my one oak that gets stressed and fertilized it, as well as told me how to take careof it going forward. His price was more than fair as his entire crew spent a full day at my house, and he was there over half of the time. He even trimmed back my palms and crepe myrtles that we didn't talk about. They didn't leave even a stick in my yard when they were through, and there wasn't a single dead limb anywhere. I will use him from now on and would recommend him hands down. We are thrilled as again our trees have never looked better!

Description of Work: Billy Jordan, owner, personally came to my home and walked my property with me concerning what I wanted done with pruning, lifting and shaping 18 oak/elm trees on the premises. I had some roof eave damage from wind pounding of some tree limbs over several wind storms. He educated and explained to me why certain tree limbs had to go not only because of the roof but others to help with the overall health of the trees. In particular, there was one large oak limb that my husband had tried to save over the years by cabling it to other higher up limbs. Billy made an extra trip to my home just to review and explain why the limb had to go to my husband before removing my husband's beloved limb. In addition to performing all the contracted work, Billy's crew trimmed multiple other smaller trees on the property just so the overall landscaping would look nice for the final effect. Needless to say, I am overjoyed with the work done, the special touches, personal attention and professionalism encountered. I definitely will use Arboretum Tree Services in the future and have recommended this company to all of my neighbors and friends.

Description of Work: The company workmen came in and trimmed the trees in our front yard and also trimmed a hedge for us. They pruned the trees back along the roof to keep the brances from scraping the shingles and gutters.

When our terraced, extensive landscaping in the back yard got very overgrown, we asked Billy (the owner) to come over to give us an estimate for cleaning it all up and hauling away the debris. He came over within a week and inspected the yard. Billy agreed to have his guys hand pull all the weeds so that they wouldn't grow back so fast, trim everything up, remove a small tree and haul all of the debris away. The job was scheduled for 8/31. Billy and three or four other workers showed up right on time. We weren't home when they finished. When my husband inspected the job he discovered all the weeds hadn't been pulled. We called Billy to discuss and discovered that there had been a misunderstanding about that. The very next day, they completed the job. Billy handled this slight misunderstanding very promptly and professionally. We will no doubt use Arboretum for our tree services in the future.
Description of Work: Arboretum cleaned up and trimmed our backyard shrubs, removed a tree, hand pulled weeds and removed all debris.
