Billy Jordan and his crew showed up on time, worked quickly and efficiently, and left the yard in perfect shape after trimming many trees in my yard.

They showed up on the designated day and time and completed the job within 4 hours. They completely removed all excess limbs and branches from my backyard! The owner stayed at the job site to make sure the work was completed and explained the whole process to my satisfaction.

The experience was great. Bill was prompt and had some great suggestions and I would not hesitate to hire his company again.

We couldn't be more satisfied. They started in the front, spending several hours working on that. Not only did they clean out all the unnecessary branches, they also found the time to clean the gutters on our house!! The bulk of their time however was spent on the back yard where the trees were way past due to be trimmed. They carefully laid our tarps to protect our plants before they did any cutting and moved plants on our deck out of the way as well. We had a couple of fruit trees as well that needed to be pruned, so they spent some extra time on them. By the time they finished, which was in the late part of the afternoon, the back yard looked totally new. They cleaned everything up and left virtually no trace of any trimmings for us to clean up. Billy again did a walk through to ensure our satisfaction before releasing the crew. We are very happy with Billy and his work and would very happily recommend them to anyone needing quality tree work.

I bought this deal and called to make an appointment. I was told that they were too busy because of the deal and that they would get back to me. I sent an email and left 2 messages and never heard back. The deal expired so I am out 99.00 and a lot of frustration.

Purchased the 'big deal' to have tree work done and went ahead and had all the trees in by backyard trimmed. They did exactly as promised, were very punctual and with the exception of a few very small branches left in the yard you could not tell they were even there. Excellent job.

We worked with Billy Jordan who was very friendly and courteous over the phone. They seemed a little pricey, but the cost was well worth it. We were able to describe the work we wanted done over the phone, and he had the proper number of crew available to complete the job within a week of our initial call. It took 4 crew about 2 hours to complete the work and clean up the debris. They were all very professional and picked up all the debris from the trimming. They cleared the cedar elm off the roof line and also shaped the crepe myrtle properly (not "crepe myrtle murder"). We were very pleased with the results and are planning on using them again soon.

Overall, he was a true professional. We walked around the front and back yard and discussed thoroughly what had to be done. I was very confident in his ability to do a good job. His crew was thoroughly trained. It was a big job in a small yard. I was very happy!!

We purchased a Big Deal (for $200 worth of tree service) back in March 2012. Billy Jordan came out and looked at our property, paying particular attention to the large number of nice oak trees. He didn't apply a hard sell, but it was obvious that $200 worth of service would be only a drop in the bucket relative to the needs of our cherished but long-neglected trees. He patiently entertained our questions and addressed the pricing for a variety of scenarios. Ultimately, we decided to hire Arboretum Tree Services to trim most of the trees that are visible from the street and from our back porch. For this, Billy quoted $5k for approximately four days of work, and gave us the $200 credit.After doing some research on oak wilt, I became nervous about getting the work done before the weather grew consistently hot enough to increase the lethargy of the bark beetles that spread it. I contacted Billy and asked to postpone the work until early June, and he agreed to do so for the same price. He even worked our job into an already-full schedule. We spoke a few days before the crew first arrived and Billy told me the day on which to expect them. Billy arrived with his four-man crew on the morning of the scheduled date, but a little later than I would have expected them. I would have thought that they would prefer to start as early as possible due to the heat, but Billy explained that traffic in San Antonio (where his crew lives) and neighborhood noise restrictions (which aren't really an issue where I live) have militated a roughly 9am starting time for them.Within 15 minutes after their arrival, the crew had unloaded their equipment and covered the ground around two trees with trimmings. Using extension ladders and harnesses to work safely in the trees, they employed pruning saws and chain saws to cut out branches that were dead, diseased, or interfering with more viable branches. Usually there were three men working in or on the trees and one loading the trimmings into the large trailer that they brought. At times, though, everyone pitched in to accomplish the cleanup. At the end of each day, the grounds were raked, all debris was removed, and sidewalks and driveway were blown clean.The crew does take breaks, but due to the heat and the strenuousness of the work, they need them! (I found this out after they left when, inspired by their artistry, I attacked with a pole saw one of the trees that had not been included in the agreement. Those guys must have amazing strength and stamina to do this every day!)It is abundantly evident that Billy Jordan and his crew have an excellent eye for sculpting a tree. The improvement in the appearance of our trees, both individually and collectively, is astonishing. We don't part easily with $5k, but we have not even the smallest regret for hiring Arboretum Tree Services to tend our trees.

We had 3 dead trees to have cut down. They were very close to a small building and other trees we did not want damaged. We also needed some branches cut off that were hanging over the roof of the house. Billy came out the same afternoon I called to see what we needed and to give an estimate. We were satisfied with his estimate and he said he would be out sometime in the next week - we did not need to be at home. Two days later the crew was here and cut the trees without any damage to the surrounding trees and building. Also the branches over the house were taken. The trimming was done so that the tree looked great and not chopped up. They even worked carefully around a small garden area. Very pleased with the work.

We have a yard with a number of oak trees and one other variety. They were getting very close the the roof and in high wind they were beginning to rub on the shingles. They also needed pruning and shaping. I called Arboretum Tree Services and Billy Jordan came out last week to look and give me an estimate. He told me what his crew would do and how much it would cost. I agreed and he set up a time for the work. Over the last few days there was a lot of rain and he called and informed me any change in plans. Billy and his crew came today to do the job. He called and told me the approximate time and they arrived on time. He had 5 crew members and they started work immediately. They all knew what their job was & Billy supervised. He also had another supervisor in the crew that he could depend on. He told them exactly what he wanted them to do. They sprayed each cut with a sealer and cleaned and hauled off everything. It looks great and it will be several years before we will need a touch up on the trees. He is now on my list for any future work and I will definitely recommend him to family and friends. cut

Billy came out and looked at my problem areas, gave me his opinion and a solid price to do what I wanted done. I was very pleased with his attitude and his work.

There were about five men who came with supervisor and cleared out the grounds of trash, weeds (5' and up) and neglect. They pruned, raked and cleared out the entire back yard in an effort to make it safe for staff to get in there to cut back an old overgrown tree which was growing over the house structure. They demolished an old shed which had been left in the back yard and removed all the materials. They cleared the property and let it sit a week before returning to cut back the tree and remove all other prunings and maintenance. They removed all the debris! All the trash, papers, bottles, cans. Very nicely done and all polite and friendly. It was an absolute pleasure doing work with this group.

I am so very pleased with the work that was done. it definitely exceeded my expectations. Billy walked around supervising as his crew worked. What really impressed me was how well his crew worked together. He said that this crew had been with him for five years. I will definitely be calling ATS again when we're ready to trim our big red oak trees. I am so glad to have found Billy Jordan and ATS on Angie's List. I have had work done by other Landscaping/Tree companies and was disappointed each time.

The owner, Billy, was forthcoming with information and gave me a clear idea of his availability. He and his crew showed up and knocked out the job swiftly and left little proof he'd been there other than the good looking landscape.

Arboretum Tree Services Owner, Billy Jordan, is a man of impeccable professionalism. He arrived when he said he would for the estimate, walked the job and gave me the benefit of his many years of experience and knowledge as he made suggestions. We agreed on a price, and set a date for service. He arrived with his crew as promised, and they set to work. They had ample necessary equipment, including multiple sets of trimmers and ladders, so the work went very fast. Billy himself did the trimming on the tree in my front yard, to be sure it was correctly and artistically trimmed. He asked my opinion from time to time, to be sure I was getting what I wanted. What I liked the best was how clean they left my yard when they were done. There wasn't a branch on the ground when they were finished loading up all the trimmings. I would certainly recommend Billy Jordan and the Arboretum Tree Service as reliable and very thorough. They did a wonderful job in my yard.

He was excellent to work with! I was very pleased. I purchased a Big Deal for the tree service, but I knew that our yard needed a lot of work. He was not pushy in any way and was very honest. His price that was quoted for all of the work that I needed done was very reasonable. The technicians spent a whole day here, and now our yard looks great! He did everything he said he would do, and it was a great experience overall!

Like a few of the other reviews here, I was slightly disappointed in some aspects of Billy's responsiveness to my business. I can recall at least 3 instances where he apologized for not getting back to me sooner. Then, at one point, I apparently hurt his feelings while broaching the topic of my dissatisfaction w/his responsiveness...but we worked thru that. The quality, professionalism, and work ethic of Billy and his crew, however, is simply beyond reproach. They did a fabulous job...Billy was there much of the time and offered invaluable tips for our newly planted landscape...things often unrelated to the work his crew was hired to do and things we simply would not have known otherwise. We were so impressed with the initial project his team did (approx $1300), we immediately asked him back for another project ($500)...got the same results--superior! I'm hard...I'm a perfectionist...I'm a skeptic...I'm not easy to please...but I've got Billy & the Arborteum company on my speed dial. I'll be a regular customer and could not make a stronger recommendation for any business. Angie's List works!

We had several trees that were going a bit wild. Called Billy Friday morning and he arrived that afternoon to look over the situation and give us his recommendations. We agreed on a course of action. The next afternoon, Saturday, he arrived with four workers and started to work. They cut back the two trees in the front yard - it looks great now! In back, they dove into the mass of palms and cleared out the dead branches and cut off several useless trunks. It is really beautiful now. While here, they cut off a couple of branches from large trees. All the work was done under close supervision of Billy and he explained each step. The crew was fast and efficient. We discussed other future landscape work and have no doubt that Billy will return. We strongly recommend the "Arboretum Tree Services" to readers of Angie's List.
