Bradford & Son Painting & Remodeling

The entire process went well, I called John and left him a message and he called me back the same day and we scheduled the estimate for the following day. He sent the estimate to me that evening, and after receiving another estimate that was a little higher, I decided to hire John. It took from Friday, 6/28/2013-7/5/2013 to complete the job, but this included Sunday and the 4th of July off, so I guess technically it took 5 days. The work looks amazing and he also did a few minor fixes to baseboards, window sills, and built in shelves. John and his son-in-law were very professional, and when I was unsure about the color I had chosen they stopped what they were doing to paint a wall for me to see if I liked it. When I decided I didn't like it they helped me test the paint and trim colors to make sure. Overall great job and I will definitely use them again.

I was preparing my house to sell and my realtor suggested I have a few things painted. I had never hired a painter before, but I went out and got 3 quotes and John was the cheapest and the one I felt best about having in my home. He and his son arrived right on time and got the job done amazing fast and it looks spectacular! They were super professional and extremely, extremely nice people! I would completely feel comfortable leaving them in my home if I wasn't there. Also, John repaired a crack in my ceiling for me free of charge while he was there. I seriously can't say enough great things about him. If you need a painter, definitely call him...just do it a few weeks in advance because he books up quickly!

John was accommodating in every way. He came to my home on Saturday came, looked at the living area of my home and emailed an estimate a couple of days later. He and James were finishing up another project, came to my home a few days later and worked on Saturday to finish up. They were awesome . . . I my house looks beautiful. I will always use their services and recommend them to everyone.

The job went smoothly, from the time of the estimate, until completion of the job! John and James are both very nice, friendly, cooperative, honest, hard working, and are truly craftsmen! Even though they both live many miles from my home, they were on time every day, even in the Dallas traffic! They used scaffolding to paint all the walls and ceilings, which seemed very smart to me, they always cleaned up their work at the end of the day, even changed my light bulbs in some very high areas that I was never able to do myself. They also moved a very heavy filing cabinet back into the house from the garage for us. Communication with them was never an issue, they were on target with what I wanted to have done. They were patient with me when I was making a decision on the color of paint for several wall insets too. It was a pleasure working with them. Their painting experience shows, because the results were gorgeous! John and James did a beautiful job, and I would highly recommend Bradford Painting!!

John and James went above and beyond my expectations. Although we did not hire them to paint the woodwork throughout the house they cleaned and touched it up where it was needed. It took them several weeks because John lost his father, his sister was very sick and also passed away. We gave John a key and let him come and go as he needed. He is very conscientious and did a great job. He will definitely be my painter for now on.

After a week and a half waiting to hear from John, I called him to find out if he was going to give me a quote. After 2 and a half weeks, I decided to have some one else to handle the job.

I called John's Painting and scheduled for John to come out on Friday to give an estimate to paint the foyer, which was two story, the hallway and the wall and niche going up the stairs. He arrived right on time and quoted a very reasonable price of $375 to do the job. He said if our schedule permitted, he could do the painting on Saturday, the next day. We agreed that he could start at 9:00 and would meet him at the house. He and his assistant, James, arrived right on time. They proceeded to assemble the scaffolding necessary to reach the high areas and get right to work. The baseboards were taped and everything that wouldn't be painted was covered with plastic and drop cloths. John and James were very professional, cordial and offered helpful advise to my husband and I since we were painting the remainder of the lower floor. They were getting very close to being done by noon. We asked John what he would charge to paint the game room at the top of the stairs, the ceiling and the adjoining hallway. He quoted an additional $125 to do the remainder of the painting. They were done by 5:00 and the results were outstanding. They dismantled their scaffolding and cleaned up their painting equipment. James was kind enough to change the light bulbs in the foyer light, which was to high to reach easily and cleaned the window above the entry door at no additional charge. I can't say enough about what a fantastic job these two gentlemen did for us. We were very pleased with the service they provided and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a painter to do interior painting. They were neat, personal and very professional. They completed a difficult project in a very timely fashion and agreed to additional work. I will definitely call them again when I have interior painting to do. Other painters quoted much higher prices and a longer completion time. John's Painting proved them wrong!

John Bradford came to the location and provided an estimate for the job I needed. His quote was very reasonable....right in line with other quotes I got. John was extremely nice, professional, thorough and knowlegeable. I have no doubt that his work would have been first rate, but I needed to get started a few days quicker than his crew could start (due to current jobs, I think). So I chose a service that could begin immediately. If I hadn't been in such a rush, though, I would have gone with Mr. Bradford. I will certainly go to him first for any subsequent projects.

Estimate was received in a timely fashion.

Excellent! John and James were diligent and very careful to leave our home liveable nightly. They did great work and we will hopefully have them out again to do the exterior. Our home looks new and we are extremely pleased!

John and his partner, James, arrived at my home ready to work with all of the necessary supplies and equipment. They were polite and very professional. They were also efficient at their job while producing very quality results. The equipment needed to paint my 25' high ceilings was set up and they went to work. All surfaces were covered with plastic to protect from splatters. The freshly painted ceiling makes the whole house feel new again. My shutters were falling apart. John and James took them down and replaced them with custom built shutters. The new shutters are absolutely beautiful! The stain on my banisters wore off from years of use. John sanded them down and reapplied stain. The banister now looks better than when the house was brand new. John and James also caulk my external windows of which some are 25' high. I am so pleased with the work that I have already asked for quotes on two additional projects in my house.

Our experience with John Bradford Painting was excellent. The entire effort took a few days, and John was kind enough to accommodate our request to have most of the work done over a weekend so that we would not have to take off work as much. He gave up a Saturday and most of Sunday to work with us. That is what I call service! Additionally, he textured our bathroom over the ugly wallpaper and it looks great now. He stopped several times to query my wife about the amount of ridges in the texture and he added more ridges based on her feedback. John is very detail-oriented and is not happy unless you are happy. His right-hand man James is also very professional and has over 3 years experience working for John. Folks, give John Bradford a chance at bidding your next project. He is kind, polite, and an expert craftsman. You will be pleased if you can get on his schedule. We will be using his company again in a few years as we tackle some remodeling upstairs.

John did a very good job. He was extremely patient with me and dealt well with the craziness that was at our house. We had 3 painters come at pretty much the same time right before closing on our house to give us quotes. John was the best quote we received. We had just bought the home and wanted the painting completed before we moved in. John came over the day before painting to get the color choices for each room and to talk through the particulars. He painted all the areas mentioned in 2 1/2 days. One day he painted by himself when his counterpart was ill. He was very thorough and kept all the areas clean.

Mr. Bradford promptly came to my home per my request for an estimate for wallpaper removal,texturing, and painting in several rooms. He was very thorough in detailing what was to be done, including taking some photos. He was personable and I had a good feeling about him.He said that he would e-mail an estimate. After a week went by and I had not received the estimate,I called him.He said that he had not had time to do the estimate and was apologetic. He said that he would send it. He called a few days later to verify my e-mail address but I never got the estimate.I was actually very disappointed, as I would like to have used his services assuming the estimate was competitive. I said that I would hire him again, but only if he calls me to explain why he never sent the estimate.

Experience with John Bradford was wonderful. He came by the same day I called to provide an estimate and emailed it to me within a day or so. The quote was competitive and he was willing to do the job soon which was important because we just moved and were trying to get things in order for guests who are going to be visiting. He was working us in between other jobs but was great about calling when they were free and coming by to get the job done. Also, they ended up having to work around a plumber (water was turned off for a little while), electrician (power was turned off for a while) and a broken air conditioner and despite all of that were very accommodating, friendly and polite! They finished the job over two days and it looks fabulous! We will definitely use them again!

It took a while for John to deliver the estimate, but once we accepted the estimate, work began immediately and proceeded very efficiently until completion. John was very easy to work with and accommodated our schedule and needs very satisfactorily. John is amply assisted by his co-worker, James who was also very helpful in selecting colors and evaluating samples. They work together very well as a team.

We returned from a trip to find water dripping from the kitchen ceiling. We called a plumber who promptly found a small leak in a pipe from the water heater on the second floor. After the plumber made the plumbing repair we called John Bradford. We made an appointment for an estimate. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time, provided an estimate, and agreed to begin the repair the next day. John clearly explained the process and timeline for the repair. John and his helper arrived on time and very efficiently completed the repair. They were very professional and considerate. John even helped me get the decor items replaced on the top of the cabinets. I would definitely recommend John Bradford for sheetrock repair.

We didn't use them because we found out that a local relative was a painting contractor. We would have used them since their bid was right dead on.

It went better than I could have hoped. As mentioned, they worked diligently and carefully, cleaned up as they went along and always left the house with the idea that we would be living in it until they returned the next morning. I always knew the schedule, always felt like they were taking my needs into consideration and felt that they were very professional and friendly. It was a very good experience and the house looks great.

We are completely remodeling a 9 X 20 bedroom that needed a new paint job, it also had quite a few cracks in various places that needed to be taped and bedded first. I found and chose John due to the recommendations I saw here on Angie's list and I'm glad I did. I called him a few days prior to my deadline for needing the work done knowing that since I was calling on short notice that there was a good chance that he would already be booked up but lucky for me the timing worked out because he did happen to have that day available. Another thing I was worried about was the fact that he is in Midlothian and I live in Garland so I didn't know if he would be willing to drive this far or not so I was happy that he said yes. I was also very pleasantly surprised that he was willing to give me an estimate over the phone (based on my description of the room measurements and work that needed to be done). Most contractors will NOT do that since there are often variables that are not taken into consideration by a calling customer so to be on the safe side the usual protocol is to come out and do an estimate which I understand but unfortunately didn't have time to do. Since he was willing to give me an estimate over the phone I was able to immediately book his services without waiting for him to come out and see whether we could afford him or not. So, John and his helper James came out on Saturday around 9:00 am and stayed until the job was completely done. It was great that he was able to repair the cracks AND paint all in the same day since many would want that to be a two-day job. They were efficient by using fans and a blow-dryer of some sort to dry the repair work before painting. Both guys were very pleasant and they did a beautiful job. I also found his prices to be very good. He did not even charge extra for driving this far but we threw in an extra $40 for his gas since we appreciated him coming all this way and then charging what I considered to be less than what most would charge. We plan to have them back out to do some more work in the near future.

John and crew arrived on time and promptly started preparing areas to be painted, drapery, blinds, face plates removed. Walls and floor area was vacuumed after the furniture was moved. Started in hallway and dining room with the green paint after laying down drop cloths. Completed the hallway and broke for lunch. Returned and completed the dining room and feature wall in green. Moved drop cloths and started with a tan color in the living room, completed 1 wall and the window wall and stopped for the day. Cleaned up before leaving, drop cloths, ladders, paint, etc.. Arrive promptly the next day again prepared walls to be painted. Completed entry way , last living room wall and small hallway. Started on the bedroom, another color (blue), broke for lunch, I had get another quart of paint to finish the bedroom. Again cleaned up and removed all equipment, checked floors for any paint and then moved furniture back into place, hung artwork, drapery, blinds, put electrical face plates in place, and reconnected electrical items. Several places on the walls were repaired where texture had been knocked off, also repair an inside corner near ceiling where tape had come loose. I provided the paint on this job because I had already purchased it. I am planning on have 2 more rooms painted once I decide on the color but I will probably let John include the paint in his estimate. I am very pleased with the outcome of this project.

John Bradford is by far the best painter in DFW!!! Let me explain why. He is prompt, impeccable in the quality of his work, he routinely goes above and beyond, cleans up every day on the job and is very reasonably priced. We trust John explicitly and gave him the key to our son's home and left him a signed check to complete the amount after he purchased the wood for the baseboards and the paint. If that isn't the ultimate trust, I don't know what is! My son, husband and I could not be more pleased with the OUTSTANDING job that John & James did in both our home and now in our son's home. We HIGHLY recommend him! He is in such high demand that you may have to wait but believe us it is worth the wait!

This was by far the most pleasant and reasonable (from a price for value perspective) remodeling experience we have ever had.

Excellent job. Very professional and nice to talk to. The did a super job cleaning up, more than I expected! He took the time and effort to clean up even after another companies mess.
