Wilson Roofing

There were great reviews on Angie's list so I wanted a bid from them. I completed the online form for a bid twice, didn't hear anything, then called. I got immediate service after my call. Although they had better reviews on Angie's list and a similar bid, I went with a company that was much more attentive.

Wilson was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. The salesman/estimator Coby, was great and didn't push us into things we didn't need. He knew what he was talking about and was easy to talk to. The removal of the roof went quickly and they placed tarps on the ground to catch the majority of the debris. The supervisors were very responsive to my questions and requests. There was a last second change in design to the chimney rebuild and they handled it quickly and got it done right. The shingle color we wanted was not available in this area, but that was no problem for Wilson. In fact Mr. Wilson himself called to clarify which shingle color we wanted, explained it was not available in stock and then said he would see what could be done. They got the distributor to order the shingles and have them shipped. Oh and there was no charge for the shipping. At one point during the chimney construction heavy rain was expected that night. Wilson's workers covered the exposed parts of the house with tarps and tarpaper. I was happy with that, but apparently one of the workers thought it could be better. He came by the house later that evening (in the rain) and placed plywood over the openings to be sure no water got in. I was a bit flabbergasted, but very happy he cared enough about his work and our house to do this. I feel the price was in line with other roofing companies. Our roof has a large number of penetrations for plumbing, heating etc. and they handled this without any problems. Cleanup was good and an employee came by to do a final quality inspection a couple of days after the roof was finished. He asked if we had any issues or questions (we didn't). I would recommend Wilson Roofing without reservation.

It is always disappointing to be treated so badly by a "professional."

It turned out that the water damage was caused by condensation and despite the length of time since the installation, Wilson Roofing made the repairs without change. We will never do business with any other roofing company!

A very nice gentleman named Coby came by to give our estimate. He was very polite and professional and carefully reviewed the roof and exterior of the house and even went into the attic. He told us there would be an estimate by email the next day. which would be Friday. The estimate never came. As it was a 3 day weekend, I expected it would probably come on Monday. It never came so I contacted the company. The owner said he was having problems writing it up due to incomplete info and would have it by noon of that day. It never came. We had almost given up on them when on Thursday it finally came in the afternoon. The estimate was unfortunately too high and some of it borders on price gouging. No option was given for the type of shingle and it was priced with the GAF Royal Sovereign which is basic grade. Their price was about 25% above other major companies with A rating on Angie's List for replacing the roof with that same shingle (to me this is still in a reasonable range if they do an outstanding job). The real gouging however was in the extra carpentry options which in my opinion were way overpriced. My wife mentioned that they may have priced the job based on where we live (Westlake area), not where the job is. She said once I called from my home phone, they knew where I lived. We can't prove that and I'm sure the company would deny this in the strongest terms. As a result of this, we have decided to keep looking for the right roofer for this job. Sorry

From the first visit until payment the experience with Wilson Roofing was excellent. We talked to 7 roofers. We felt comfortable with 2 of them; Wilson being one of them. There was neither pressure nor false or misleading information. All questions, and I had a lot of them, were answered honestly and quickly. We upgraded to the 50 yr. GAF Ultra Timberline shingle and System Plus warranty. Now that we have talked to our neighbors who used other roofers, we are very glad we chose Wilson. There were no added charges to the final cost. Their roofing crew was polite, hard working, cleaned up, and was careful not to damage plants. The fact that some of the other roofer I felt comfortable with said Wilson was a good outfit and I could not go wrong if selecting them speaks highly of them.

They'll be coming back to put on a new a roof. I like the workmanship and the job they do in general.

It went great, the crew who did the surrounding area around the fireplace stack on the roof did an excellent and quick job. The crew who did the roof did a great job as well, they finished the entire roof in one day. I can highly recommend Wilson roofing. They had done a few smaller jobs for me in the past and always did an excellent job. Jim, their estimator was always very good at looking over what needed to be done and estimating what it would cost. He would explain what the problems were and not suggest additional work if it wasn't needed, a very pleasant and professional person to deal with. The office staff was always a pleasure to deal with as well and answered any questions or concerns I had. All in all a wonderful company to deal with.

Given that ours was just one of what I am sure was an incredible number of roof repairs in the greater Austin vicinity due to high winds and large hail in our area, the whole process went exceptionally well. An inspector contacted me and was at my house the day after I submitted an on-line request for quote through Wilson's web site. We chose to go with Wilson roofing for a couple of reasons: the estimate matched the insurance company's projected costs exactly and they were one of the few that advertised that they were insured. Within two weeks, the crew was at our house and had the entire roof and flashings had been replaced, the facia boards were repaird, and the vent pipes and hoods on the roof were painted to match the new shingles. Wilson arranged for the appropriate city permit and had it displayed while they worked (which I rarely see when driving by other roofing job sites) and the site supervisor spoke with me several times throughout the day to keep me informed. About the only hiccup that occurred was that they did not bring enough shingles to complete replacing the roof on a stand alone shed in the back yard, which was part of the scope of work. Rather than start that job and have to leave it half done, they said they could return and within the week they were back to complete that job, easily. Overall, a very pleasing exerience and a very professional job.

Got an email verification of receipt of request and had estimate written detailed estimate within 24 hours. Estimate was 7% higher than comparable bid from another reputable firm. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Wilson again.

We received 3 bids from reputable roofing companies. All were fairly close in price. We selected Wilson due to their well known track record (including several Angie's list reviews of people in our part of town (78704). Their estimator and sales folks were professional and not pushy. Before the job, they explained the process, answered our many questions, gave us homes they installed with the 2 different shingle colors we shortlisted. They job was completed in 1 day, with a crew of ~8. Very impressed with how they addressed a tricky portion where our chimney met the roof. Ridge vent, shingles, flashing and drip edges look great. We have yet to experience rain so the final test is yet to come, but we do have a 5 year labor warranty and I am confident they will resolve any issues if they come up. Simple a professional, efficient roofing company that does good work at a fair price. I hope to not need a new roof for a long time, but if i did, I would not hesitate to use them again.

It went well: The company was not only recommended by angies list, but by the BBB. the workers were probably undocumented but the company claims that they were bonded and insured, which the other companies/ handymen I investigated were not. the workers seemed well skilled and cleaned up well afterwards. again, it is hard to know what the best option is in the end. I have forgotten the exact work date so it is approximate.

It was very good. He was there on time. His workmen were very good and they all cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend them. He also has a very large inventory of time and luckily had my discontinued tile in stock!

The whole experience went really well. I filled out a service request on the company's website and they contacted me the very next day and came out to evaluate the leak the same day. We discussed the leak and agreed upon the proper method to repair. The company was very prompt with sending me their estimate which I thought was quite reasonable and within the budget I had in mind.I was further pleasantly surprised and impressed with the company's response time in getting a roofer out to my house and completing the repair the following Monday. This roof leak has been occurring on an off for some time and I am relieved that the source of the leak has been identified and Wilson Roofing company was willing and able to address it swiftly. Moreover, they guarantee this repair for a year which is also reassuring. The company's employees are friendly and easy to work with. All in all I would say working with Wilson has been an enjoyable experience and I don't hesitate to recommend them.

I had an insurance adjuster (USSA) come to check on some damage which I thought might be covered, but didn't know for sure. While the reason I called was not covered, the adjuster told me I needed anew roof, which was covered. USSA recommended Wilson, and they were great in every way. They could not start on the scheduled date because of weather issues, and they kept me informed of schedule changes. The crew worked overtime to insure that the house would be watertight, and they did a great job on the roof. The type of roof was very expensive, which is why the cost was so high. Wilson's quote was in line with the market price.they helped me get some carpentry work done, and were helpful to me when I had trouble with the mortgage company getting paperwork. I couldn't have been happier with their work and their courtesy and helpfulness.

I had called Wilson Roofing once before several years ago and asked them to assess some possible roof damage. I thought they were very honest in their assessment at that time--that no work was needed. So when my roof started leaking some eight years later due to leaves (mulch) in the steep roof valleys, I called them back. The estimator climbed all over the roof and brought back pictures of what was happening--including a missing vent cap, another vent pulled away from the flashing, a damaged ridge line and three areas of damaged shingles, including possible raccoon damage. He included all the photos in the estimate, which he sent via email later the same day. Two workers came back a couple of days later and worked for three or four hours fixing everything, and they didn't leave a mess. Maybe I could have gotten the work done more cheaply, but I trusted Wilson after my experience of several years ago. It rained very hard shortly after the work was done--and I had no problems at all then or since.

They were great! They had first rate service, from beginning to end. They did quality work and had excellent communication.

Wilson Roofing did a great job! Thank you Angie's List...this contractor was amazing. These guys did great! We were in a new city and just purchased a new (20 years old) home. We had no local resources to help us select which contractors were good or to be avoided. We had the usual list of things the home inspector found before we purchased, plus we wanted to make this home our own with upgrades. Thanks to Angie's List we chose these guys, and they exceeded our expectations in every way. Pros from beginning to completion. These guys are awesome! Better than anyone I could have selected on my own if I had lived here all my life. We looked at several different contractors and these guys were great and at reasonable prices. Superb experience on every level. I would recommend these guys to anyone and everyone.

Roof work went fine, would use again. Will also use if need any stucco repair. Looks like customer service is a top priority for this company!

They were prompt, professional and gave stuck to their estimate. The quality of work was top notch.

Responded within two days to come out and inspect. About three to four days to get the quote. When I asked about color matching the existing shingles I got an upgrade from a 15 yr to a 20 yr warrantied shingle to get the right match, at the same price. Once I approved the color, the installation was scheduled within a few days. The work was done on the day promised and clean up performed so you would not know anyone was there. Overall I am pleased with what turned out to be a stress-free experience.

The company was prompt in sending someone out to bid on the job, and he was professional and thorough. Gave me an option of a cheaper, holdover repair or a more permanent solution. I received a clear bid via email, and the work was done within a couple of days after I returned the signed proposal. My only (very minor) complaint is that it took a couple of phone calls to verify that the installer completed the scope of work. However, I think this was mostly my fault since I was tied up and couldn't talk to him in person before he left. It has not rained yet, so I can't say for sure how the repair worked, but it looks good so far.

Went well. Always called when on way to house. If they were delayed they called to let me know. Work was completed satisfactorily the first time. Cleaned up after themselves and were very polite.

They were very prompt with coming out to do the estimate,but getting the repairs done took several phone calls.
