We have a single story 2200 GSF house with a 20 year old roof that badly needed replacing. After reading reviews on NextDoor, yelp, Angie's List, and getting 3 quotes, we selected Wilson Roofing, and couldn't have been happier with the result. David Grant, Sr. Estimator for Wilson Roofing, contacted me right away, was professional, and more importantly very helpful in explaining how the insurance and installation process would work. He was as responsive as any contractor I've worked with over 40 years. I emailed him off-hours several times with questions (even during the weekend), expecting at best a response the next business day, only to find the next time I logged in he had responded. He worked with my insurance firm, even correcting a miscalculation that saved me a lot of money. The work was VERY briskly and professionally managed by Clayton Portugal: The team arrived on time, worked for two days in 100+ weather, cleaned up afterwards. 100% satisfied with this great, responsive firm, highly recommended.

I had a 30 year old tile roof that had multiple water ingress points. I collected three estimates, and Wilson was right in the middle of the price range. I selected Wilson as they are known for their experience in tile roofing--and they did not disappoint on my project. The showed up on they day they were scheduled on time. And over the next week they demolished the existing roof, repaired the points of any wood rot, rebuilt the chimney, replaced a skylight, and re-tiled the roof perfectly.

Wilson came out and gave me a fast quote and did the work a few days later. They were less expensive and offered more service than the competition. No more leaks around the fireplace when it rains! Someday, when I need a new roof, I'll be calling Wilson again.

I've always found their work pretty solid. But I'm taking the time out now to write this review because I really appreciate Larimee Doyle making a couple of trips out here to help me diagnose the source of a leak. That kind of service engenders loyalty.
Description of Work: Wilson Roofing did the original roof on our house when it was new construction 23 years ago. They did a full re-roof after hail damage in 2005. And now they've done a small repair for me.

We had to wait for it to rain again. This was to confirm where the leak was and after the repair again to make sure that the repair would prevent the leak. They worked hard to be available during early mornings and weekends in order to come back while it was raining. All went as planned.
Description of Work: Wilson Roofing helped identify that the leak was a roof leak and then diagnosed where the roof leak was at. They did the repair and monitored during the next rainstorm to confirm that there was no further leak. This was all handled in a professional and timely manner. We know that they are busy this Spring.

It was great! House was built in 1994, Wilson was the original roofer. In 2015 we had devastating hailstorms. From the time I placed a call, they were her within a week to look over roof and give quote. They took me through step by step what was damaged, and everything that was going to be replaced. They worked with insurance company!! A big relief for me. All workers were considerate, respectful of certain areas in yard. Clean-up was perfect. Throughout all process, foreman would always let me know what was going on. All employees within the organization were A+!!!

We were initially very impressed with the representative from Wilson who came to look at our roof. He seemed to have good ideas and we signed a contract to have Wilson replace our roof. That was the last time we were impressed with Wilson. Despite being told that the roof would be installed in a few weeks, that didn't happen. We understand that heavy storms caused delays in their schedule. We would have appreciated a phone call updating us on the schedule. It never happened. And while we waited for our new roof, we developed a leak. Maybe that helped us get moved up on the schedule because they eventually managed to "fit us in" after many phone calls. Since the day they showed up to install the new roof, it has been almost a comedy show--except we've not been laughing. We were told it would be a one-day job. It wasn't, and at the end of the first day we were told they didn't have enough shingles. The next day someone showed up bright and early and started work. Then more shingles were delivered and the workers disappeared for hours without a word to us as to whether or not they were coming back. After a few hours we called and were told they'd be back as soon as rush hour was over (it was noon at the time). They did come back and finish the job and we are happy with the roof. However, it took over six weeks and multiple phone calls and no-shows before Wilson got around to fixing the damage to the siding and downspout caused by the roofers. We would not have been so unhappy if even once Wilson Roofing had bothered to call us and update us on the situation. After one of our phone calls to Wilson we did have one person come by and state that he took complete responsibility for these problems. We were impressed with his sincerity but never heard from him again. We experienced the worst customer service we have encountered in decades of being homeowners. I don't know if Wilson is too busy with commercial customers to care about residential customers or what the problem might be. I do know, despite the fact that we like our new roof, we wish that we had chosen another company, one that would have cared about our satisfaction.
Description of Work: Our roof had hail damage and Wilson Roofing was one of the firms that our insurance company recommended. We hired Wilson to replace our roof.

SHORT STORY: After I signed the contract I couldn't get them to actually schedule me, and eventually office staff barked at me "We're very busy and I can't have you calling here every day!" (I wouldn't have called at all had they ever gotten back to me), and "Your job happens when it happens." LONGER STORY: Wilson bid $1200 each to install two 2x4 skylights. I asked, "If I sign today, when can they be installed?" Wilson said probably in two weeks, three in the worst case. So I signed and emailed the contract back, but then I didn't hear from anyone to confirm about scheduling. After a few days of silence I started calling every 1-2 days to inquire, and they always said someone would get back to me, but nobody ever did. Finally on Day 8 after i signed the contract, at which point there should have been 6 days left on the probable install, I found that Wilson hadn't even ordered the skylights, and it would be at least *another* 2-3 weeks before the skylights were even on hand, and no telling when my actual install would be done. When I complained about this, the staffer blind-transferred me to Jessica, who started in on me before I even said anything, telling me, "We're very busy here, and I can't have you calling every day!" (I was only calling because they'd never gotten back to me), and "they skylights get here when they get here, and they'll get installed when they get installed," or words to that effect.
Description of Work: Bid on installing two skylights -- then become unresponsive.

I had very tight deadlines for getting it done, I had nine days with Labor Day in the middle. They coordinated with the solar panel guys and they did it very professionally. They had the manpower to accomplish their task. They adjusted their scheduling to accommodate me. Somebody came out and looked and made sure it was all being done. They asked me before making changes. I was very pleased with them. Their prices are competitive.

I would highly recommend them. They are the absolute best. When they are through working your home, you can't even find a nail or a loose shingle on the ground. Once, I had a little problem after they did some work on a real flat area of our roof, I called them and they came back and took care of and didn't charge me a penny because it was under warranty. They charged a reasonable amount. They were very helpful. We went out and picked samples. We wouldn't use any body else's services.
Description of Work: They totally re-roofed our house and we are very pleased.

Wilson roofing didn't have any actual designs, so I had to show Mr. Brooks a few pictures. We finally agreed on the design. When the time came to look at the initial construction at their shop I noticed that there were all kinds of seams visible, which was not what the pictures showed. I told Mr. Brooks that this was really odd and that none of the chimney caps on ANY of the homes in the area had seams. He said that painting the caps would conceal the seams. On my last trip to their shop I was told by an employee that they had never made chimney caps! I was shocked - bec. Mr. Brooks all along led me to believe that they were adept at constructing chimney caps. At that I realized that they wasn't going to work but I still tried to work with them. Next thing you know, I get a nasty email from Mr. Brooks with an invoice for $450 for the cost of fixing 1 of the chimneys. The arrogance and complete lack of trying to admit a mistake or even trying to fix the issue is why I would never recommend this company.
Description of Work: Needed 2 metal chimney caps installed. Price quoted by Mr. Brooks was $2750.

Response from Wilson Roofing
Wilson Roofing Co. terminated the contract with [members name] after numerous attempts over the course of 3 months to get a design approval from him. [members name] was billed only for the portion of work completed on his house. [members name] made no claim to Wilson Roofing Co. about any mistake or unwillingness to complete the contracted work. [members name] residence was not left unsecure or unfinished. The additional work he originally requested was purely ascetic. It is unfortunate that Wilson Roofing Co. must defend its excellent reputation against the unsubstantiated and misrepresented claims of a customer who failed to attend set meetings or put forth the effort to make himself available for design approvals within a reasonable time frame. It is disingenuous that the employees mentioned in [members name]’ complaint, despite their collective experience of over 30 years, are accused of misleading him about their capabilities. The agreed upon decorative chimney cap was constructed and ready for installation but awaiting final approval from [members name]. Wilson Roofing Co. regrets the events described in [members name]’ complaint but rejects any responsibility for the outcome. According to [members name] he contacted Wilson Roofing Co. about his chimney caps only after he had multiple rejections for bids from other contractors. [members name] repeatedly chose to ignore the information provided to him regarding design and construction of custom, handmade chimney caps and has used this forum to misrepresent and vindictively indict a reputable company.

Wilson was the first of three companies I had out to evaluate the state of my leaking roof. They immediately came back saying that the roof really should be replaced, that there were too many patches on it already. I really should have listened to them, but when two other companies are telling you the roof is fine, just needs some tweaking in the form of patching, new roof boots, etc., you want to believe, so that's what I did. Spent close to $1000 on those repairs, only to find more water damage to a bedroom wall. At that time, one of the other companies admitted that they probably should have advised me to get the roof replaced. They offered me a quote that was supposed to include the Angie's List discount they offered, as well as a concession for the $700 roof repair they had done earlier. That quote ended up being without either discount. I went back to Wilson and asked if they'd still do my roof for the $3750 price quoted back in June, and they agreed. Even without having any discounts, Wilson was around $300 cheaper than the other quote I'd gotten, and would have been a wee bit cheaper even with company #2's Angie's List discount. Wilson came on the agreed upon date and I had a new roof by the time I got home from work that evening. The work area was clean and the roof looked great.

I, very stupidly, let a trunk trunk lie on my roof for too long, and, after cutting it off, I learned that it had damaged some shingles. I got 3 different bids for fixing the problem, and Wilson Roofing was the lowest, plus I instinctively felt that they were good people, both from my phone contacts with their office and from the very friendly and polite estimator, James Buffaloe, that they sent out. James ending up doing the work himself. I got to know him a bit, and was surprised to learn he was an accomplished musican, in addition to being a good roofer, and a vocalist who sang in 5 different languages, and performed professionally! We did go through a few miscommunications about schedule, but I don't believe those characterize either James or Wilson Roofing, so I chose not to dwell on them. Even during our misunderstandings about when the work would be done, everyone at Wilson was polite, helpful and communicative.
