Very well. Initial site inspection appointment was prompt and on-time, quote was received in time frame promised. Work was scheduled and completed a little over a week after go-ahead given. Workers arrived exactly on time, covered pool, moved susceptible items away from the house before starting, completed everything in one day. Very happy with performance and results.
Description of Work: Replaced roof on house, including vents.

The workers showed-up very promptly for the repair and finished it in one day, and returned to finish the clean-up the following day. He work reflected the exceptional skill of the workers and their concern for me as a customer. Ian Brooks (the field manager) stopped-in several times during the day to explain what was being done and (in my case) the condition of the flashing and what work needed to be done. There were also a couple of code violations with the chimney flashing that were resolved. Ian also returned later in the week to re-check the roof and assure that there were not any problems. As reflected in other reports here, their clean-up is not as thorough as it probably could be (I found a large nail in my driveway), but they did make a concerted effort on this (roofing is a messy job, anyway). I am very happy with the quality of the work done by Wilson Roofing and their follow-through after the work was completed.
Description of Work: Davis Grant did the re-roofing estimate (11/2007) to replace roof due to hail damage and followed-up with me with quotations on additional work (repairing "ponding" in roof and an existing leak they felt was due to flashing leaks around the chimney or skylight). I had many questions about the process and materials that were answered promptly and thoroughly. I was given the estimate via e-mail and there was no pressure whatsoever during the process (I experienced this with other roofing companies). Re-roof (1/2008, scheduled 3 days prior) was performed as indicated including the improvement of attic ventilation (movement/replacement of vents), installation of special flashing to repair the ponding gap on the edge of the roof, and replacement of rusted, leaking flashing around the chimney. My only minor complaint is that the work contract is not very detailed. However, I was charged exactly what was indicated on the contract, nothing more.

They answered my calls promptly, came out and looked at the skylights; replaced a screen that had come off; check the seals and the roof (because I asked them to). .. and charged me nothing!

Very well but with some fits and starts. Two representatives came to inspect the roof and giving essentially different advice on the manner of repair, but consistent that repair would do and not a new roof. The first advice was to do a water leak test which seemed reasonable, but when the water leak test crew showed up (on schedule) another inspection showed that the leak test wasn't needed and we agreed to do the initial expectation repairs. A second quote was issued and we scheduled the repair without issue and the worker (sorry, I can't remember his name, did a great job though), showed on time and got started. I was able to get on the roof with him to inspect and as we understood better the situation, we quickly agreed on a changed set of actions to install the additional fascia board and also install new flashing.
Description of Work: The initial expectation was to replace roofing tiles and repair flashing that was causing a water leak along a split-level type roof. As the work progressed, it was found that the original roof wasn't supported and sealed properly along the split/overhanging part of the roof - so additional fascia board was installed to give better support to the overhang and also seal the roof from critters finding their way in. The flashing was also completely replaced and new tiles installed and sealed. All the waste was carted away, nicely cleaned up. Better news is that the roof doesn't leak.

When our roof began leaking, I called two companies for estimates. Wilson responded quickly, and came to our home to give us an estimate within 2 days. Laramie, the Wilson representative, told us there was significant hail damage, and suggested we call our insurance agent. We then set up a time for the insurance adjuster and the Wilson rep to look over our roof together. All of this happened before the other company we'd contacted even bothered to return our phone call! The insurance adjuster gave us a check on the spot, and work began on the roof the following week. The process went very smoothly, and there was absolutely no mess left behind. I would not hesitate to recommend Wilson Roofing.
Description of Work: Wilson Roofing replaced our entire roof, along with new fireplace flashing, and replacement of some rotted wood.

It went well and the skylight was obviously properly installed as I have had no problems. Wilson Roofing sent out Jaime (forget his last name) to make an estimate on the job. He recommended and ordered a skylight for me and 3 or so weeks later, Wilson Roofing installed it in a matter of 4-5 hours. They could not find the exact color of the shingles around the skylight but found some so close in texture and color it is hardly noticeable.
Description of Work: I have a skylight over my kitchen dining area and it had been leaking causing a bit of water damage around the skylight and the walls. I had had this "repaired" several years ago, but the repair was inadequate. I called Wilson Roofing and in March of 2007 they installed new skylight.

I was very happy with the finished product as the roof looks wonderful. Wilson went to the rental house to give me an estimate and saved me going over to meet with the estimator. They were very affordable compared to other estimates I received. I will use them again in the future.

Overall, it went very well. I haven't had much experience with major house repairs, so I don't have much to compare this with. However, the work was done very quickly, and clean up was excellent. I think we probably paid a bit more than we might have elsewhere, but I didn't get the feeling I was overcharged. Since this new roof was put on, by the way, we have had record-breaking amounts of rain in Austin. It's a relief to report that there are no more leaks!
Description of Work: We had a badly leaking composite roof, and needed a full replacement. Wilson tore the old roof off and replaced it with a newer type of composite roofing. They also replaced some rotten wood.

I had a leak in my roof that I noticed after several days of thunderstorms. I called about eight-ten places and Wilson was the only company who could come to my house that day. They came to the house (on time), gave me an estimate, returned later that day (about a half hour early!), and made the repair in about an hour. Everything was done by 5:00 p.m. They are low maintenance, reliable and easy to work with. The guy who repaired our roof even went over to my neighbor's house to give them an estimate on a new roof after he finished ours.

Wilson is an excellent company to do business with. Wilson quickly returned calls and scheduled an estimate. Work was somewhat delayed because of a weather related backlog in work scheduled for the crew but I was well informed after I called and once scheduled, the work was begun and finished as scheduled. The crew was professional in every regard with no radios, no loud voices and no other undesirable behavior. They worked until dark to stay on schedule and the quality appears to be good. A followup question regarding rain runoff was responded to immediately by the estimator's return and resolved to my satisfaction during a joint inspection. I was very happy with the whole experience and that is a first in my 3 years in Austin and dealings with more than 5 home repair companies.
Description of Work: Wilson Roofing replaced the standing seam steel with plywood underlayment roof on a section of our house that measured about 400 sq ft. The section included a chimney and a vent. The chimney and vent required substantial work besides fitting the roofing materials around them.

We received a detailed proposal of the basic work to be done, including several options, the materials to be used and the prices for the basic project and the options. The work was done promptly and efficiently with a very diligent crew and a competent supervisor. The crew worked long hours to make up for time lost due to intermittent rain. The only significant complaint I have has to do with the difference between what was agreed upon and signed by me and the company's representative and what was actually done, two flat roofs to be stripped completely and reroofed with specified materials. This was done for one roof, but not for the second one. Instead, the second roof was not stripped down to the plywood, rather, the existing cover of the roof was overlayed. This was not according to our contract. In my non-professional judgment, this change must have saved the company money both for new roofing material and for labor. Unfortunately, I was not able to negotiate a lower price.

A few weeks went by and we finally got enough rain that I could see that the leak was not fixed, i.e. my patch job was ruined. I waited for the next rainstorm, and I crawled up in my attic with a flashlight to pinpoint the problem area. It turned out to be coming from an attic vent. I again called Wilson. They came out and did some unspecified work on the attic vent. I could see they added a screen or something. On that visit they left suddenly, without explaining what they had changed or how much it would cost. It rained again that very night and I went back up in the attic to discover that the vent was leaking as bad as ever. I called Wilson the next morning and they sent the same couple guys back over to take another stab at it. This time they replaced the entire attic vent. The fix appears to have worked and I patched the ceiling again. I've been a little too scared to go up in the attic while it's raining. I can't bear to see that drip again.
Description of Work: I had a leak in my roof. Wilson came out three times and hopefully fixed it on the third attempt. On the cost, I put $150, but to be honest, I'm still waiting for a bill. No one ever quoted me a price. On attempt #1, although I'd called about a leak, they really didn't do anything to try to pin down the cause. They found a nail that was sticking out, put some caulk under it and gave me a $300 bid to fix another part of the roof that had some prior damage from trees. They did not charge me. At that point I optimistically patched, textured and painted my ceiling where the leak had been.

They did not have the correct size ladder to get into the attic area, as the access did not have a pull down ladder. Not a major issue, as I was pretty confident that the leak was coming from the satellite dish support and attic access wasn't necessary. He also caulked one other area on the roof that may of been a concern. I was expecting him to give a cost when he finished and to write a check. Instead they sent us an invoice. It was in the cost area that I was expecting to pay, so that was good. Service was fast, within a day of when I called, better than what I expected. Phone personnel was nice and kept me informed during the process. I have not been on the roof to see exactly what they did, but it did stop the leak.

Their staff was professional and courteous. They helped me get a fair amount from my insurance company and they never tried to pressure me into anything. When everything finally was settled with the insurance company in early December, I called and spoke to Mr. Wilson to ask if their original estimate was still valid, they expire after 30 days, and he said that the estimate was still good. I asked if we could get it done before Christmas and he said they could be out in two weeks. I got a call early the next week from one of the foreman asking me which day that week would be good for the job as Mr. Wilson had put a rush on the job. The crew showed up around 9:00 and were done and gone before I arrived home at 5:00 and from everything I can see they did an excellent job. Only after the front office had inspected the job and asked if I had any complaints or issues did I receive the bill. I've already recommend them to two friends and would not hesitate to recommend them to others!
Description of Work: Removed a hail damaged 20 year roof on my 2500 square foot home and replaced it with a 30 year roof. They also discovered some rotted wood on the back porch roof and notified me via email, including a digital photo of the damage, prior to repair for approval. The original estimate was done in August by Davis and he was was great about answering our questions. Project wasn't done until December because I had to keep banging away at my insurance company to get them to pay anywhere close to what it cost. Wilson was helpful in supplying a lot of information to my adjuster to help get this done. Every time I spoke with a member of their staff on the phone I was impressed with how friendly and courteous they all were and on numerous occasions when I called with a question, it would be the owner Ralph Wilson that answered it. I contacted this company because of the positive reviews on Angie's List and even though I went ahead and got two other estimates, Wilson's price was better.

The final product was very good. Progress of work was delayed due to incorrect shingles being delivered. What should have been a single day job lasted into a second day. Despite the delay the entire project was handled well. The cleanup was good, but not perfect. I'm still finding bits of trash that were missed.
Description of Work: Roof damaged by hail was replaced. Old shingles were removed.
