Waterloo Pest Management

We had a rodent in our attic and it died in the wall. The rodent exclusion service should keep all future rodents out. We called Waterloo on Monday and they came out promptly on Tuesday. They spent 2.5 hours doing work and were very helpful in explaining the service that was performed. As two added bonuses, they even put flashing where we had gaps at the bottom of our garage door. They also noticed we had a large wasp nest on our upper balcony and sprayed it and knocked it down. I would definitely recommend them to anyone! We got three quotes and Waterloo had the most reasonable rates.

Ernest and his assistant were very easy to work with and I was impressed with their knowledge, professionalism, and customer service. They were thorough and conscientious in their work. They came out the same day I called (even though it was a late day for them) to diagnose the problem, provide an estimate, and schedule a time for services. We have not had any signs of rats since they came and were encouraged to call them if we notice any other problems. They turned a problem that could have been a nightmare into an easy and pleasant experience.

Ernest showed up promptly and set out bait. After an initial problem with not finishing the seal under the house, Ernest told me that he had an employee problem, which is understandable from a small company. He more than made up for it. He showed up after hours, completed the work, and without any complaint from me both offered an extension on the warranty and an apology for the gap in coverage. Then, I had a flood from a broken pipe, which ruined his work. He has offered to help out however he can, and has been very responsive to coming back out to redo the work. He really has been a pleasure to work with and takes pride in his work.

I live in the Hill Country, where we have ninja squirrels. My ninja squirrels clearly intended to invade and occupy my attic. They were determined. Squirrels have been a constant problem for me. I have trapped over 32 squirrels since I moved in, in 1994. Finally, I decided to get professional help. So I called Waterloo Pest Management. Ernest Vasquez and his assistant came out immediately in response to my request. Since I have a two-story house, with a metal roof, they faced a challenge in reaching the two dormer windows, where the squirrels were entering the attic. They glued metal barriers at each side of my two dormers, thinking that would deter the squirrels. This would have worked with your everyday, residential squirrels. It did not work with ninja squirrels. The squirrels ripped out the barriers. Then Ernest screwed hardware cloth barriers into the wood dormers. The squirrels gnawed through the wood into my attic. Finally, Mr. Vasquez finally screwed razor-edged screening to the wood around the dormers to prevent the squirrels from gnawing their way into my attic. That worked. Mr Vasquez was persistent in finding answers to the invasion of the ninja squirrels. He was very gracious about returning repeatedly to solve the problem. Since I am located approximately 45 miles from his location, his commitment to solve the problem was a real demonstration of client service. He has solved my problem,and I am very grateful!. .

The owner, Ernest, is very professional and knowledgeable, and his assistant, Craig, also is very experienced and professional. They came out to assess the situation, gave me an estimate and scheduled a time to come out to perform the bulk of the work (they set some traps out the first day). They then showed up during the scheduled time window on the scheduled day and performed all necessary work to my satisfaction. I will definitely be using them in the future and would highly recommend them.

The attic, house, and outside perimeter were all treated and we haven't had a problem since Ernest/Waterloo took over a couple of years ago. We were having a terrible scorpion problem.

The job went excellent, the only thing I ran into was mother nature, she wouldn't let them come out fast enough. So rescheduling was easy and they worked around my schedule. I would highly recommend. My price says 147, but I gave them 170 to include a tip.

Two men spent about 5 hours here for the initial work. They came back twice for the traps. For all the work I feel it was a good deal. Ernest did a great job. He knew what he was doing. He was professional and very happy to explain and discuss matters with the customer. He even pointed out some unrelated maintenance issues I should attend to. He was very interested in being fair, thorough and making sure I was satisfied. He understands insects and rodents habits and life cycles and has had professional training.

I had heard scratching noises in attic, and learned from a neighbor that she was having rat problems. Called Waterloo and they came out the same afternoon. The checked the attic and showed me where the rat tracks were; also droppings. Contracted for them to return on Saturday (no extra charge for a weekend service!). They arrived a little late, but worked many hours, until 7 pm. Blocked all pest entrances. Since I'm in a townhouse adjoined to another townhouse, I contacted my neighbor to see if she wanted them to check her attic. She did, and they came and treated her place same day they did mine. We each received a discount since we had the treatments on the entire building unit done at the same time. One year guarantee, so we'll see if the rats come back next year.

Got Waterloo resource info from Angie's List! Called, shared my recent "critter" concerns. Made appointment for estimate. Ernest and Craig showed up on time - explored house - and heard my concerns. They made recommendations - both what I might need and also what I did not need. We agreed on cost - set dates/time for work. Tobey showed up on time- completed work as described. Came back X to check traps (on time as planned). Ernest and Craig were very professional, friendly, good listeners, and cleaned up after themselves! Waterloo did not require a contract - and they have a one year warranty on their work. I did not use the pest control exterminating service but they assured me they do not use poison, which is important to me - and the environment! I will definitely call them again if I have issues with pests, varmints, or other unknown critters!

Ernest arrived on time for the inspection and estimate. He went over the entire house and talked to me about the work that would be required and services he would provide. This is an extremely old house in an old neighborhood. The house has been remodeled in some areas, but not in others. His bid was fully half of that given to me by another well-regarded exterminator (which I also use) and the service he was providing was far more than the one that his competitor offered. He arrived promptly to begin and has come on time each time the work continued. The work included setting traps and blocking up all possible entryways for rodents into the house. He was on the roof and under the house. He repaired the cement skirting on the house which had cracked and would have allowed the critters access. He returned 3 or 4 times to retrieve the traps and their occupants. It seemed that the problem was gone. Then we had a really, really cold spell and somehow, the rats have found a way in. Ernest is continuing cheerfully to address the problem. It may sound as if he wasn't thorough because rats have continued to get access, but he is working diligently to find how they get into the house and to keep them out. He has come out on short notice to respond to the critters reappearance. I feel lucky to have found him.

We kept hearing something moving around in the attic, not sure if squirrels, rats, or what. Ernest inspected to determine where they were entering. We'd just had an addition made to the house, and a deck. Ernest determined that animals were probably getting in from below, under the deck, rather than through the roof, but he secured everything both above and below. He had to return a few times, but he was persistent and our attic is now pest-free.

They were great - took the time to really find all the gaps and seal everything up around the outside and also within the attic. Were very detailed and came back by 4 days later to check the traps and ensure nothing was actually in them.

This company did a great job, I have no more rats in my attic. The crew that came out was delightful and they were able to come out and help me right away and solve my problem.

We thought we could have rats or mice -- we heard them and saw droppings. Ernest came the next day, and he walked the house and checked all the trouble spots. We appreciated his assessment that our house is well-sealed and that the noise we heard was squirrels in the attic (the droppings --randomly -- came from a bathroom vent). The squirrels weren't living there, just visiting -- so Ernest came back a few days later, when it wasn't raining, and sealed all access points to the attic. He did set traps, just in case, and a few days later he came back to check those (they were empty -- we were glad our problem was not severe). While walking the roof, Ernest made a point to show us problems that we had that weren't related to pests -- we had some roof damage likely caused by a fallen branch. Ernest was prompt, professional, and reasonable.

I've found that once you pay for a service with Ernest, he will return as many times as needed until all the problems are solved. Plus - he's very well informed about the habits of animals and the science of his work.

He found other pest issues in the house, but has not pressured me - and when I get around to dealing with the ant problem, he's the man I will call.

Ernest is very informative and conscientious. He shared enough information so that I could make a well-informed decision about the types of treatment I needed. He did the job (with the same chemicals) that Aztec would have done for this price, plus a lot of manual labor removing termite-friendly materials and sealing off openings. Additionally, he set traps in the attic and came back several times to check them. Ernest is a local entrepreneur with a relatively-new company, and I believe he goes above and beyond any normal expectations.
