Called this morning before normal business hours. Luis responded almost immediately and told me that a technician would contact me. David contacted me within a couple of hours and was on-site by noon. Brought everything with him that he might need, got to work and had us up and running very quickly. While he was there, he took a look at a couple of other issues my husband was having with his computer, fixed a couple and told us when he couldn't fix one of the issues (old computer - not really an issue for us). He was very fair and didn't charge for the time spent on the unresolved issue. I would highly recommend using this company and will do so again in the future.

A several year old laptop computer would not boot up, and the limited tricks I knew did not alleviate the problem. I called the Critical Update after looking at their rating and reviews on Angie's List and then looking at their website. I gave them a call at nearly 5:00 PM, hoping they were still open. I left a message when there was no answer. Within 20 minutes I got a call back and an appointment time was set up for the next morning at their place of business. The technician, Shawn(sp?) was very helpful and upbeat concerning my problems. He tackled the critical task of saving as much data off the drive as possible - he recovered everything I needed. He then set about trying to diagnose the problems and see if there was any fix that could be expediently accomplished. He was very knowledgeable and very efficient trying various utilities and procedures to try to get the machine to boot. He eventually used another machine with my suspect drive as a secondary drive and eventually got it to respond; it continued to work when reinstalled in my laptop. The overall diagnosis is that the HDD is probably staring to fail, and it would be a good idea to get a new drive. Shawn was very helpful and informative as we waited for various attempts at recovery to run their course. He answered all my questions about computers in general, hard drives, and gave opinions as to possible causes for some other computer problems I was having on other machines. At the end, Luis, the owner showed up, and he was also very friendly and concerned with the solution to my problem. All in all, I was very pleased with the response and work done by the Critical Update folks, and with all the effort being done at a more than fair price. I will definitely return there if/when I have computer issues.

Everything went very smoothly and promptly. My initial call ended in having to leave a message and my message was returned very promptly. I was greated wtih enthusiasm and an eagerness to have my business. The work was performed very promptly and my computer was returned to me very quickly.

Very knowledgable and professional and fast. I would use them again. I was not so pleased to find out that these folks only work M-F 8-5pm which does not help me a lot since I work the same hours. But I trust them and will work around that issue.

The Tech arrived promptly. He cleared up files and issues on the PC. Made suggestions. After he left, there was one issue (can't remember) that I had forgotten to tell him. He worked on my computer remotely and that went very well.

.We were very pleased with Luis Delgado's prompt and informative help that saved precious photos on the infected hard drive. He patiently waited for us to pick up our external drive (and pay our bill). He honored the Angie's List discount of $40 off the usual $125 hrly rate. In addition he went to the trouble of researching new computers for us. Very personal and honest person.

Overall the experience was a good one and the price right. When the appointment times were set up Luis or Jim were there. Jim was delayed on the last visit but called ahead so we were able to set up a time later that day. We all have busy lives and I really appreciate it when I get called because of some type of delay that is beyond their control.

It was fine. The tech was not especially personable/friendly, but I have no real complaints.

I found this company on Angie's list and I'm so glad I did! We had a small but pesky problem trying to work with a specific software -- several people worked on it, including other professionals, with no luck. Critical Update folks were prompt in first emailing a suggested solution and then solving it remotely while we were on the phone with them. I appreciate their positive, professional attitude, their very competitive hourly pricing, and their flexibility in pro-rating for less than 1 hour's work.

He came to give pointers on using programs on my computer effectively. He was thorough and professional.

We had other companies try to fix our wireless printing network but it would always recur. This time the work was completed in the alloted time and the printing problem no longer exists. Seven months later there are still no problems.

They work quickly and come to my home. The only thing I would prefer is if they took more time to explain what they were doing and why they were doing it so I could have a better understanding of how to prevent issues in the future.

They fixed my PC and it works really well. However, when they called and said it was finished, I was told I owed an extra 10.00 in taxes which is reasonable. I prepaid for an hours worth of repairs with a deal on Angies List. When I arrived to pick up my PC and pay the 10.00 in taxes, I was informed I owed over 54.00 dollars because it took them an hour and a half to fix my PC. I was not told about this in advance and was surprised by this new amount. The man I dealt with was not there, and they tried to run my credit card but could not so they said they would call me. I feel I should not be charged the extra amount as I was not informed of this before I got to the shop. I am sending them a check for the tax, but I refuse to pay for the extra time that "magically" happened after they were done fixing my PC and they called me, and then I went to pick it up the next day.

Luis analyzed my old computer provided and me with guidance regarding a new computer at no cost, and he even endorsed my purchase of a computer that he would receive no profit from. Then, several weeks later when I was having trouble configuring my new computer, The Critical Update worked on the computer for a very reasonable price and got it working perfectly. In addition to Luis' integrity in business, I am very impressed with the welcoming and friendly atmosphere in his shop. I am very glad to have found such a responsive and professional shop to call on when I have computer problems.

.Got an appoitment within 3 hours of my initial call. The Tech arrived on time, tuned the settings on the computer, reinstalled some security software, and the computer was running great. Have had no further problems since. Andrew was outstanding; very knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I will recommend them to my friends and use them again

They person that came out was very knowledgeable. The work was great.

He solved several problems with my computer including security with our router and speeding up the computer. He also connected my computer to print wirelessly. He also did a service call on Mar. 21, 2012 for $102.84.

Within 3 hours of my call to request service, Richard arrived to fix my problem. He was both competent and professional. He diagnosed and solved the issues quickly. I was relieved! I have used the Critical Update 3-4 times and they always have done great work.

Fair, reasonably priced and honest. What more can you ask for? I was so impressed by The Critical Update. They came the same day that I called and took care of my problem quickly. For many, my small issue would have been an opportunity to upsell or fix something that wasn't broken. Not here. The tech was super informative and only did what needed to be done. He had lots of great tips and advice. I would definitely use them again.

Consistently exceeded expectations.

Our Desktop computer crashed in the morning with all of the time card data for our employees. If we could not fix it we would have to "hand enter" 60 time cards worth of data. A quick search on Angie's list turned up "The Critical Update". I called them and left a message. Robert called in short while and said he would be over in an hour. He arrived, looked at the computer and decided to take it back to their shop. I soon received a call that the motherboard was shorted and it would be expensive to replace. The computer was old and I was mainly worried about the data, so he brought the system back and we put the hard disk into another computer and recovered the data. It worked great. We had the data back and were able to do an automated payroll. So in summary, Same day service and we saved a lot of time and effort.

They were excellent to work overall!
